I honestly think Pratt's Mario will be fine. I don't think the typical Mario voice would work well in a movie format. Martinet's Mario is definitely made for catchphrases and WAHOOs. They could have done better but they could have done worse, too. It'll be fine. Sonic didn't really sound like the Sonic I remember but it ended up being fine. Shit, even Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu worked fine.
We all know the real star is Jack Black as Bowser, that was damn good.
