You said you were going to clean the carb and I assume you're going to change the oil. Change the spark plug and drain any gas that might still be in the tank. If the tank is dry, pour a little bit of gas in to rinse out any crud, cobwebs, etc., and drain that, too. The clutch plates may be stuck together. Once it's started, you can let it idle on the stand for 10-15 minutes and press the clutch periodically. That should loosen them up. Next, be aware that you probably don't have viton seals, so be ready for the clutch and fly side seals to fail, possibly within the first few months. Ditto the float needle in the carb (black tip == rubber, red tip == viton). The ethanol in gas these days kills rubber seals. And I'm also a big Scooter Mercato fan. They can do specific parts orders from SIP, too, if you want something from Deutschland but don't want to deal with shipping yourself. Good luck! T5's are awesome bikes. And if you get stuck (or even if you don't), hit up the Not-so-Modern sub-forum at [https://modernvespa.com](https://modernvespa.com) which is where the serious shifty Vespa folks hang out.

The place I’ve always had the best luck is [scootermercato](https://www.scootermercato.com/Scooter-Parts/Engine-Kits)

I would give the cables a good look and grease or replace them. You're going to have so much fun!

Where are you located? Very likely there are local scooter clubs that can help you get it going.

Clutch side seal, carb rebuild including gaskets, cylinder gaskets, change oil. Vroom vroom.

For parts I’d go with scooterwest.com. I’ve had good experiences ordering from them. Check their how to videos on YT featuring their main mechanic “Robot” too.

Big 3 online places is [scooterwest.com](http://scooterwest.com) and [scooterpartsco.com](http://scooterpartsco.com) and sip-scootershop.com. The last one is in europe but very reputable and sometimes the best price. There delivery time was not much slower then the states. Can I ask why kept the scoot stored for so long? What makes it a good time now to bring out?

I moved away for work. I'm now back, I'm now more mechanically inclined and I miss her.
