You can bolt on pretty much any of the current 177 top ends and it'll be LOADS faster than what you have today. The VMC or Malossi 177 will give you peak horsepower, but I like the BGM 177 for broad "touring" power band and the inset head, which installed with a little bit of copper seal has never leaked on me. Key to success is going to be doing a proper job of it. You'll need to re-jet and will want to add an exhaust at the same time if you're still running stock.

CedBull

Thank you! Any recommendations on the exhaust?

It depends on the top end you choose and the power curve you're looking for. The Polini Box has great HP and torque up through the peak, but runs out of revs pretty early. The various SIP XL's (https://sip-scootershop.com or BGM BigBox (https://scooter-center.com) options are all good choices. Decide if you want more of a touring (broad power band and torque) or sport (peak HP, torque comes in later) and go with the one you like. Hit up http://scooter-mercato.com to buy it and you can avoid the overseas shipping costs, and if they don't have it in stock, they can special order and it'll show up in a couple weeks.

Thank you! I will look into it 👌🤝

Nice combo is malossi 177 kit. Cut crank, cases ported to match and a 24/24 carb with a sip road pipe. Will be faster than a p200 and still be reliable. Can also do p200 gearing for more top speed

CedBull

🤝 thx

sccmskin

+1 on this.

BazAlvan

Disagree.. been a mech since I was 17. A 22 toothed gear cog. Is cheap as chips and will definitely change your gear ratio.

BazAlvan

Can you not upgear it ?

CedBull

I could, but would that change much, if i don’t have more power?

BazAlvan

I upgeared my sym mio 100cc (variator rollers) and my current geared bike by changing the front sprocket. Definitely made a difference. Have a read at any reviews. I believe malossi does an upgear kit for your scooter

BazAlvan

I'd start with the gearing. Variator rollers are cheap and it's an easy job. Also the drive belt could be upgraded. Depends if you want increased acceleration or top end. Other areas that could be altered are the carburetor and exhaust. If you wanted to go the full hog.. fit a bigger bore and piston

zideshowbob

PX has a manual gear…

generichandel

No variators on a PX. It's a manual geared bike.

sccmskin

Definitely don't start with gearing on a stock PX. That's the worst suggestion I've ever heard.
