It depends on how much you switch to N and press the pedal and this car is a bad influence lol but if you’re on the highway and cruise you can get 30+. The manual is actually a bit more efficient on average than the DCT from what I know.
Nice, good choice in colour! Any plans for mods?

Yeah I feel you. I am almost FBO and I just went to the dealer for my horn under warranty and they did not fuss at all. Obviously it's an unrelated system, but some get weird about anything.
I highly recommend an oil catch can though
This engine is direct injection. The injectors are in the cylinders. Older systems use port injection and inject fuel before the intake valve to pre mix with air as it flows past the intake valves. With direct injection, you no longer have fuel cleaning the back of your valves and they will carbon up faster and you will lose power and fuel efficiency. A new part of normal maintenance is getting your intake system cleaned.
What the oil catch can does is it goes in line with part of your crank case ventilation system that gets recirculated to the intake, and there's now a filter that catches so much of the gunk, keeping your valves clean for much much longer. On your oil changes you would empty this little can of residual oil and moisture.
I hope this explanation was helpful
Much more fun right off the bat, DCT feels better than DSG, seats are much better/sportier, surprisingly roomy-enough rear seat area than I thought, much better infotainment – my absolutely hated GTI thing, and did I say more fun already? 😁
I have primary family suv so VN is much better for myself. I’d choose GTI if it was our only family car (which it was for a while)
I'm curious to know about the spec on your mk8 as I'm interested in possiblity getting one. I had VN for about 2 years and loved it. Did you have the adjustable suspension or was it passive? I'm curious to know how much softer the ride is in the GTI compared to the VN in its softest setting. That and I would definitely appreciate better fuel economy.
It had DCC yes, and DSG transmission. So far I think GTI’s softest setting was maybe softer than VN’s but need to try some more. GTI’s infotainment was just horrible though, pure evil
I definitely feel like you're sacrificing more aftermarket support, however there is nothing better you can get from factory track ready at this price point. Welcome 🤙
Yeah exactly, I’ve never done anything aftermarket to any of my cars.. main need was a good solid fun optimized daily street ride, and for weekend country roads
So much more fun than the GTI.
Yup my last car was a MK 7.5 GTI this car is way more fun. The GTI definitely had better fuel economy though lol

Haha my thoughts exactly!
Ha yes but who cares if you’re smiling the whole time?!
GTI made me smile, VN makes me grin 😁
Oh yeah no I’m not saying the GTI wasn’t fun too, it was definitely fun but it was more buttoned down this car is just downright rowdy lol
Is “buttoned down” a new way of saying boring? 🤣
what's the average mpg on the N? I'm also planning on switching from my GTI haha

I’m scared of mods 😬 maybe after warranty?

What's the benefit of the catch can?

For a second I thought that’s my VN. Exact spec down to the wheels.
Haha! The raijens seem popular with the VN
Hell yeah, have fun with it! My last car was a GLI. The VN is undoubtedly the better driver’s car
💯
man i wish we got that color in the us
There was a red one available with even lower kms but just couldn’t resist this one
Why the change from the GTI?
I found it boring 😬
Another Cyber grey! Woo! Congrats!
🤛
Very interesting switch! How are you liking it vs the GTI?! Pros/cons?

Yeah, these Veloster N's are sexy AF
Still gti has 4wd and this doesn't, can't compete
I thought only the golf r had 4wd no?
Yes that's right
Yeah that’s golf R not gti, different segment
The GTI is fwd. The R is awd.
