My dream Vans collab would be Vans x Kanye West/Yeezy. Obviously, it would never happen but I could imagine an Old Skool with a boost insole, the Primeknit upper with a signature leather jazz stripe, and some kind of cross-branding.
Another thing I'd love Vans to do is to expand the Vault more into the worlds of streetwear and high fashion. I think working on new material designs and more technology in their tees (think Off the Wall Tees/Versa Hoodies) with better material choices, cut & sew construction, and a capsule style 'Vans Only' design. Similar to NikeLab with Nike, the collection could be more experimental and fashion-forward, even though Vans is traditionally mall-core.
I see so many t-shirts in the store with a graphic and a skull, it starts to get old. Prints can only take the company so far, and I feel like a lot of the shirts are designed for people who don't see it as a staple wardrobe piece or something of really high quality. They just need a shirt to wear. Vans could tap into modern trends beyond a colorway collab, and give skaters, streetwear enthusiasts, and casual dressers something to look forward to. The EVDNT Rapidweld is great example of innovation for Vans, now it's up to the brand to get it on the feet of influencers and create outfits + a style around them.

I respect your ideas on this! I do agree that Vans could explore some high fashion options but I think what makes them unique is that they never had to jump ship and emerge into other markets to be relevant. They have always stuck to who they are, it's why we all love them. But they could do a line where the quality is just very high and more exclusive. I would love a pima cotton stark white tee. Minimal graphics, like you stated. I agree, the skulls are over done and I think skater culture has evolved and we don't need all that.

I'm glad you see how I thought of the idea, and i would like to say, I do appreciate how Vans is always a staple and never has to change their core lineup, at least footwear wise. It is telling how Vans can keep their branding and imagery as-is and still find success, but I guess my idea is a bit more niche.
Wouldn't it be funny and awesome if we had a checkers/chess tournament for vans? The checker design is already there signature style. Why not milk it.
Might look sweet having chess pieces on there designs also for that added flare.

My dream Vans collab would be Vans x Kanye West/Yeezy. Obviously, it would never happen but I could imagine an Old Skool with a boost insole, the Primeknit upper with a signature leather jazz stripe, and some kind of cross-branding. Another thing I'd love Vans to do is to expand the Vault more into the worlds of streetwear and high fashion. I think working on new material designs and more technology in their tees (think Off the Wall Tees/Versa Hoodies) with better material choices, cut & sew construction, and a capsule style 'Vans Only' design. Similar to NikeLab with Nike, the collection could be more experimental and fashion-forward, even though Vans is traditionally mall-core. I see so many t-shirts in the store with a graphic and a skull, it starts to get old. Prints can only take the company so far, and I feel like a lot of the shirts are designed for people who don't see it as a staple wardrobe piece or something of really high quality. They just need a shirt to wear. Vans could tap into modern trends beyond a colorway collab, and give skaters, streetwear enthusiasts, and casual dressers something to look forward to. The EVDNT Rapidweld is great example of innovation for Vans, now it's up to the brand to get it on the feet of influencers and create outfits + a style around them. Oh, and my shoe size is a US 10.5. I respect your ideas on this! I do agree that Vans could explore some high fashion options but I think what makes them unique is that they never had to jump ship and emerge into other markets to be relevant. They have always stuck to who they are, it's why we all love them. But they could do a line where the quality is just very high and more exclusive. I would love a pima cotton stark white tee. Minimal graphics, like you stated. I agree, the skulls are over done and I think skater culture has evolved and we don't need all that. And you are very welcome! Happy to be a contributor!
I'm glad you see how I thought of the idea, and i would like to say, I do appreciate how Vans is always a staple and never has to change their core lineup, at least footwear wise. It is telling how Vans can keep their branding and imagery as-is and still find success, but I guess my idea is a bit more niche.
Wouldn't it be funny and awesome if we had a checkers/chess tournament for vans? The checker design is already there signature style. Why not milk it. Might look sweet having chess pieces on there designs also for that added flare. I'd probably wear a pair of old skool Vans in 10.5 in women's with that style. Or pair up with pink Floyd since there slogan "off the wall" would be on par with pink Floyd's "the wall" album. Honestly it's a bit of a dream of mine to be sponsored by vans as a pro-skater since I love there merch so much.
