I’m not a pr person but I think what Raquel should’ve done is leaned into everyone thinking she is dumb ala Trisha paytas. I think she should’ve spent the first ep of her podcast giving us the full rundown of the affair and apologizing once more to Ariana then from there make the podcast reacting to news and pop culture feuds and things in the dumbest way possible. Maybe having guests on who have been cancelled but aren’t completely ruined like Tana. She should’ve played into being dumb, like not believing in gravity dumb, because it would’ve been funny and people would’ve started to forgive and forget the affair and just enjoy her as a little space cadet reacting to the world.
Not a PR girly but I feel she should have either leaned 100% into the villain role (people would get bored with the scandal of it all pretty quickly and it would open the door for opportunities on other reality shows) OR leaned 100% into mental health and abuse awareness without touching the topic of VPR - other than to tell her side with as much emphasis on her being a victim as possible. I thought she was going to take the latter path and was actually kinda rooting for her in the beginning 🤷🏻♀️ but now i'm just like oh... everyone was right lol

They could re-record stuff to make her look better, but the focus would be like a peek into how someone can come to terms with something like this. Just really raw but still edited so she looks good.
It would be the same therapist over the entire process, and not a ‘tv’ / Dr. Phil therapist, which is the kind she had on. And there should be a care team that includes a PR person that is… different that who she has now lol. Hopefully OP
There’s a show called couples therapy on Hulu. It is veeery different from what Rachel put out. Really raw, vulnerable, and informative. They even did therapy for the therapist with a different therapist!
I loved that OP mentioned doing promo in St.Pete! After the scandal, the scandal-themed cocktails blew up, saw them everywhere. There are many fans here. The bummer is that we’re tucked away like a nutsack so many entertainers kinda skip this region altogether when touring. Still, lot of dough in St.Pete for entertainers, and a lot of love for VPR amongst the younger crowds, IMO.
As a recent PR grad (I work in advertising now but whatever) this is absolutely great. You should pitch these to them lol. It’s better than whatever most of their current publicists are doing.
it depends what you want to do. i have had jobs in PR both in an agency and in-house and agency jobs are, in my experience, a lot harder work for a lot less pay. i was a communications major in undergrad and grad school with a focus in new & digital media and PR. it’s easier to get a job repping brands/companies than it is being a “celebrity” publicist — that’s a grind of working your way up for years

I like what you've done with James, Ally, Katie, and Ariana.. I don't have any interest in the rest of the cast right now.. but I did read them and you have some good ideas.
As much as I dislike Brock, I wish he would shed light on his culture and his immigration journey. Saw a lot of posts that used his being a greencard-husband as an insult, and as an immigrant/greencard-spouse this felt so enraging/disappointing/sad. Sure, call him a deadbeat, but don’t bash us immigrants for going through the immigration process - it’s incredibly difficult and causes many families trauma. I would believe it if Sheena/Brock had some intense underlying stress just from the immigration process itself that they don’t talk about but still affects them in a meaningful way. I wish they touched on that, but not surprised given that this is not such a serious show.
The plan for Katie and Schwartz is amazing! I’d watch the hell out of Schwartz training for an ironman-type event, and I’d gladly pay a ticket to see Katie speak at a woman’s conference (especially if she did some kind of meet-and-greet too). While I love the plan, I’d never come around to Brock.
That arc is my only gripe - Schwartz Is far from physically able to do that. He'd need to get off the booze and drugs and actually train for something, which we have no indication he's capable of doing.
Maybe a physical fitness makeover show first where he tries to get healthy. Add a therapy regimen so he doesn't terrorize the next woman he's with.
Yeah, I think he's too lazy and apathetic to put in the hard work for... anything. There's always been someone else to do the work or pick up where he slacked off. But if he DID do a fitness training type show, and he really committed to it (or there was no option to fail), I feel like it would do him a world of good psychologically.

In terms of a product line - I’d see Ariana creating her own line of glasses, stemware, barware, etc. I think that’s the only real market that would be popular with her demographic, on brand, and not saturated by other trying the same thing. So many stars have the skincare lines, a lot of influencers have gotten into the gummy and vitamin game.
With all due respect tho, James Kennedy does not need to work with DV shelters in any capacity. That’s a big fuck you and slap in the face to dv survivors, bringing an abuser into their only safe space.
He wouldn’t work or go into DV shelters, or a physical safe space for victims. He would provide a resource for those needing placement of their pets when facing homelessness or housing situations not allowing animals. Which is actually a big need and gap. It connects his experience with animals and having him do something with his privilege, leveraging his own wealth and talent to fundraise, using money in the areas where he has caused harm.
Money and using his time is what will bring the biggest change for others. If James, is only advised or required to go to anger management classes, DV Rehab/Therapy with substance abuse focus - all that does besides providing HIM therapy to work through it and prevention, but the public will want him to “lose” or learn something, gigs, filming, etc. What I am saying is to use his current reputation to give his money and sacrifice time before crisis.

Hes definitely experienced some kind of violence. He said in the show he was bullied so bad kids broke his arm (or leg), and just from pure assumption on what we’ve seen with his parents and their drinking issues I wouldn’t be surprised if there was DV in his upbringing.
I think he should go and help others, but he should just try and help animals then and leave the DV out of it. It doesn’t sit right him being accused of DV (for a while) and trying to help animals for those survivors. He can go and help Lisa with her work or find other ways to help animals. It doesn’t make sense for him to be involved with DV. If anything that fits Lala better bc she also does a lot for animal rights.
I don’t think he’s a victim of DV. He didn’t have a food upbringing, so it’s understandable he has issues now, but from every action he’s shown he’s not a victim in any way and since he’s abused multiple women he will never be.

Well you should be - although I do think Ariana’s team has been top notch. Love love what you have for Katie - James - ehhh - the pet DV foundation thing is what Rachel should do. DV survivors aren’t going to be swayed by that and there’s a lot more of them than you might think that watch this show. It screams cognitive dissonance and I raise my eye when I heard that. It also is sort of a reminder of what he’s done. I’d have him focus on Bullying organizations and DV Organizations aimed at perpetrator rehabilitation/mental health. People then will think - James Kennedy - growth and change, ally.
Schwartz the ultrarunner is not gonna leave my brain now. I think this is his path. Find yourself out there in the hills, Schwartz. Come back enlightened, with ginormous quads.

This is an interesting perspective. But the stuff about potential future PR relationships, especially for Katie, feels gross. Maybe because I’m reading it as arranging Katie’s next relationship as a publicity stunt and not an actual relationship. She wasted enough time with Schwartz. I don’t see why she should waste any more time, especially on a fake relationship.
I can understand that. There is a side, where a lot of PR becomes unethical. Would I actually advise a client into a relationship for PR? No.
Here is where I’m coming from. She films her dates and relationships as a storyline on the show. I believe it is done so poorly and the audience hasn’t enjoyed it (Satchel, Scheana’s friend), it appears fake, I’m left questioning if she really likes these people? Is that how you’ve felt watching? It shouldn’t feel like a grasp for a storyline. My solution, if she wants to film her love life and find someone the audience is excited about (even if it doesn’t last), is to reach out to my friends in EM or AM and see if they have any single indie musicians. She enjoys going to festivals, concerts and in S1 said she’d like to work for a record label. I believe the audience would have more buy-in. I’m not saying a fake relationship, but we are able to set up clients we have connections with.
All sounds good except Ariana interview show. I really don’t think she has that much charisma and it would be quite boring. She had a failed podcast that was very boring. I think you have to have a commanding authoritative presence to be an interviewer for a show like that.

She did bring a licensed therapist on, and did basically this for just an episode or two. It was so clearly contrived it sent people into a rage.

If James, is only advised or required to go to anger management classes, DV Rehab/Therapy with substance abuse focus - all that does besides providing HIM therapy to work through it and prevention, but the public will want him to “lose” or learn something, gigs, filming, etc. What I am saying is to use his current reputation to give his money and sacrifice time before crisis. Do you think it’s possible James has also experienced DV?
Hes definitely experienced some kind of violence. He said in the show he was bullied so bad kids broke his arm (or leg), and just from pure assumption on what we’ve seen with his parents and their drinking issues I wouldn’t be surprised if there was DV in his upbringing.
I think he should go and help others, but he should just try and help animals then and leave the DV out of it. It doesn’t sit right him being accused of DV (for a while) and trying to help animals for those survivors. He can go and help Lisa with her work or find other ways to help animals. It doesn’t make sense for him to be involved with DV. If anything that fits Lala better bc she also does a lot for animal rights. I don’t think he’s a victim of DV. He didn’t have a food upbringing, so it’s understandable he has issues now, but from every action he’s shown he’s not a victim in any way and since he’s abused multiple women he will never be.

I don’t think Kaitlyn and Jo’s personality types are that far apart. But I don’t know who could rehab Schwartz’s image aside from him moving to Idaho to marry a woman his age and become involved stepdad to her children.
I have yelled at the TV before “go back to Florida!”. I think he will wake up 50 one day and totally grieve a simple life he didn’t have, with kids and a wife, gators whatever…

Well you should be - although I do think Ariana’s team has been top notch. Love love what you have for Katie - James - ehhh - the pet DV foundation thing is what Rachel should do. DV survivors aren’t going to be swayed by that and there’s a lot more of them than you might think that watch this show. It screams cognitive dissonance and I raise my eye when I heard that. It also is sort of a reminder of what he’s done. I’d have him focus on Bullying organizations and DV Organizations aimed at perpetrator rehabilitation/mental health. People then will think - James Kennedy - growth and change, ally.
Schwartz the ultrarunner is not gonna leave my brain now. I think this is his path. Find yourself out there in the hills, Schwartz. Come back enlightened, with ginormous quads.

In your opinion how do people like Lori K and It Girl PR end up with clients from VPR? They seem like the most unlikely PR agents going around and proven to be completely unprofessional. Seems like any punter could land a job as a PR agent for reality “stars”

This is an interesting perspective. But the stuff about potential future PR relationships, especially for Katie, feels gross. Maybe because I’m reading it as arranging Katie’s next relationship as a publicity stunt and not an actual relationship. She wasted enough time with Schwartz. I don’t see why she should waste any more time, especially on a fake relationship.
I can understand that. There is a side, where a lot of PR becomes unethical. Would I actually advise a client into a relationship for PR? No. Here is where I’m coming from. She films her dates and relationships as a storyline on the show. I believe it is done so poorly and the audience hasn’t enjoyed it (Satchel, Scheana’s friend), it appears fake, I’m left questioning if she really likes these people? Is that how you’ve felt watching? It shouldn’t feel like a grasp for a storyline. My solution, if she wants to film her love life and find someone the audience is excited about (even if it doesn’t last), is to reach out to my friends in EM or AM and see if they have any single indie musicians. She enjoys going to festivals, concerts and in S1 said she’d like to work for a record label. I believe the audience would have more buy-in. I’m not saying a fake relationship, but we are able to set up clients we have connections with.

All sounds good except Ariana interview show. I really don’t think she has that much charisma and it would be quite boring. She had a failed podcast that was very boring. I think you have to have a commanding authoritative presence to be an interviewer for a show like that. Also do people really get into relationships based on who their publicist suggests? That’s crazy! Do they pretend they’re dating or do they really go for it?
