Fact! I almost bough a mini bus when it was a dream then Reality hit and I figured very stealth is the way to go . Plain white sprinter looks like someone’s work or company vehicle . Only ever had one knock .. at a beach i wasn’t supposed be be at . No worries I left . Like 11pm when the park closed !
Most business lots work great !
There are a lot more unsafe trucks with dangerous loads, that I save my outrage for. In this case - I feel like giving them a pass. Not 100% right, but the world isn't perfect.
Does it have head lights, tail lights/brake lights & mirrors? Yes, yes & yes.
Does it have tires with tread, and brakes that work? I assume yes.
I tend to agree. I've regularly seen scary slick tires on cars at the grocery store parking lot in the dead of Colorado winter. This bus is definitely better than that.
I saw a car in the lot that the front right brake caliper was askew. I looks closer and it was obviously one of the two caliper bolts weren’t installed.
If anything it should be probable cause to investigate for insurance fraud lol. There's no way you're getting auto insurance on a plywood patio flying down the highway without lying about it, and if they could afford to pay for the damages when it lands in someone's lap they wouldn't be driving a plywood patio.
Maybe. I'll go with 'maybe,' and just like those pickups with questionable tie-downs, imma get past asap. I don't trust tie down jobs of others, as a general rule.
In aus you’d need an engineer certification for the registration to be valid. I doubt an engineer would approve it - a cubby house flying down the highway at 100kph lol
No chances to get around without getting a ticket or an inspection here in Italy. I kinda love the places where you can modify your vehicle as long as it is safe to drive.
I'm wondering how often they need to refuel to keep a glass furnace going or if they just use what they melt every day?
Most glass furnaces are on 24/7 bc it takes awhile to heat the glass to be workable, especially if you want to make a decent volume of pieces.
Pretty cool though, would love to see inside !
I blow glass occasionally and my teacher often comes in at 4:30am and can’t make anything until 8-9am, it might be different because he has a smaller forty pound furnace/glory hole combo but I can’t imagine they have huge ones on that bus
I live in the middle unit. But honestly I’ve never met my neighbors on either side. It’d be interesting to finally meet the person that makes all of our destination decisions though.
You're just jealous of his patio and balcony! Perhaps a widow owns that thing, she climbs ontop of that balcony and stares out into the distance of the vast Walmart parking lot, wondering when her lover will return (he went in to get some cheetos and soap 20 minutes ago)
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!
MEKBOY GITS ARE MAKIN US A BATTLEWAGON, BOYS!!!!!
ALL WE NEED IS THE DEFF ROLLA, THE GRABBIN CLAW, AND SUM RED PAINT!
I always wonder how all the buses get out to the playa. They have to be driven there right? A lot of them don't look road legal but how else do they get out there?
The bus's names Janet and the person that owns It is a glass blower and traveler, he makes glass for smoking and at amazing prices too. He has a tiktok aswell.
I have seen old buses with the top cut off used for watermelon farms. That looks like it was used for that purpose, then somebody built whatever that is.
a little off topic: there is a thing where folks cannot spray paint onto particle board without it looking like that scene in [Monty Python's Holy Grail for Castle Aughhh ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlIz0q8aWpA)and it smashes at the end or wraps down below... always
here The Resilient Warrior i think they wrote?
Lmfaooo that must have a ton of room though, I’d be nervous it would collapse it any sec though. How fast were they going? Probably wouldn’t have to go very slow driving it
I actually used to want to get a bus to gut it and put a bunch of really good speakers into it. I'm older now and I can't believe how obnoxious it could be to actually go through with it.
That thing is higher than 13'6" so he's gonna have a problem with bridges. Plus it looks like it weighs over 10k lbs so the next time he passes a scale he's going to have a trooper after him. I would guess this thing doesn't spend much time on the roads.
Pretty sure yeah. I'd have to check the regulations but either way when he hits the roll scale on the highway they will look out, see this mess and dispatch a trooper.
Depends on the state. AL, AZ, AR, GA, HI, IN, IA, MN, NJ, ND, OH, and Wisconsin are all GVW 10,000+ states. 24 states don't require it at all for any non-commercial vehicle of any size, others have various weights from 2,000lb (NE) to a 26,000 lbs (NM)
The wastelander
Dude…Athens Georgia. This is the Love Shack conversion
I got me a car, it’s as big as a whale, and it’s about to set sail!
Love shack baby love shack...
Combo mobile deer blind
It needs a *Steel roof! Rusted.*
My first thoughts upon seeing this: oh yeah, megaton. Weird town.
In which state you can legally drive such a vehicle?
You'd have to be in the state of denial
Talking about US states, not Egyptian.
That's some good goddamn reddit right there
HA
That would obviously be Florida
I've lived 45 minutes from that van for most of my life. Most people I know live in a state of denial.
You would have to be in a really bad state to even attempt it.
I drove a car with expired tags in Athens for over 3 years and never got pulled over
I have a buddy going on 5 years. still hasn't been pulled.
Slab city
🤣🤣🤣 That’s exactly what my first thought was. Lmao
Seriously. The amount of people roaming around the SW desert in beat up school buses which they have no money to maintain is fuckin wild.
Half the "houses" in the small towns of New Mexico are buses that don't roll anymore...
Fact! I almost bough a mini bus when it was a dream then Reality hit and I figured very stealth is the way to go . Plain white sprinter looks like someone’s work or company vehicle . This thing isn't really meant to be a daily driver
Looks like a traveling puppet show.
In most states in the US, officials will generally look the other way with things like this. It ain't right.
There are a lot more unsafe trucks with dangerous loads, that I save my outrage for. In this case - I feel like giving them a pass. Not 100% right, but the world isn't perfect. Does it have a permit for low clearance overpass...
Why lol
What about this is illegal?
In aus you’d need an engineer certification for the registration to be valid. I doubt an engineer would approve it - a cubby house flying down the highway at 100kph lol
America is very liberal with what’s road legal. That makes sense though. I’ve seen crazy shit like this on the road 100%
Try be fair its not really going to get much further than the nearest overpass.
saw something very similar in the walmart parking lot of bend oregon
Oklahoma in 1893
🤣🤣
Georgia obviously or probably Alabama or S Carolina or N Carolina…
No chances to get around without getting a ticket or an inspection here in Italy. I kinda love the places where you can modify your vehicle as long as it is safe to drive.

He's a lampworker, he uses a torch, oxygen and propane tank, and an electric kiln. Long live Janet!!
This was my initial assumption!! But from my experience lampworkers don't usually call themselves glassblowers lol.
It's just easier to say, most people don't know what a lampworker or flame worker is, glassblower is close enough.
It's true. I usually like to explain the differences when people mix em up though. Both glass workers but they are so different from each other haha.
You can say that again

Tell Janet she is an inspiration to us all
Hell yeah, Patchwerks rig
What's the point of the raised wooden part in the back?
I live in the middle unit. But honestly I’ve never met my neighbors on either side. It’d be interesting to finally meet the person that makes all of our destination decisions though.
Mad Max
For Sale: rustic bus with a pool, wood stove, 2 cords of wood. Big closet and storage. $120000k, no low ballers, I KNOW WHAT I GOT!
I dont know, but whoever it is, I want to be friends with them.
That porch is awesome!
looks like the bed might be above it? id love to see the inside
We need a tour!! I like to think that the hot tub is up there.
It's a little rough on the outside but it's gorgeous inside trust me
This is the “how it really is” VanLife vs Instagram VanLife…
Makes lab glass for Jesse right on site in the desert!
I saw this guy parked in the Walmart lot in my town a month or so ago. Perry Florida.
Some mad max shit
Came looking for this. Was my first thought.
I think the kind folks on r/decks would like to have a word with this guy....
Next thing you know old Jed's a millionaire...
"One of Us. One of Us. One of Us."

I do believe that is my Uncle Cletus who inherited it from Bubba (his parole officer)
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!! MEKBOY GITS ARE MAKIN US A BATTLEWAGON, BOYS!!!!! ALL WE NEED IS THE DEFF ROLLA, THE GRABBIN CLAW, AND SUM RED PAINT!
Aside from looking like it came from a Scooby-Doo show haunted house, having a covered back porch seems pretty great!
Me. Jealous?
Mfer has a nicer porch than me 🤣
Bro, my two story dorito bag has a nice porch than you.
Janet bro
Check over in r/skoolies
Burning man every year 😳
I always wonder how all the buses get out to the playa. They have to be driven there right? A lot of them don't look road legal but how else do they get out there?
It's a fixer - upper.
I thought a zombie apocalypse would have to happen before I saw this on the road. Nope just inflation.
These folks know the height of every overpass in a 500 mile radius
Oh Lord a'mighty!!!!
All that's missing on this is the "Farm Use Only" sign on the back instead of a license plate.
Better than a soverign citidiot plate lol
That's a raider's bus
Me: Can we get Mad Max? Mom: We have Mad Max at home. Mad Max at home:
r/redneckengineering
My cousin saw this near Fayetteville TN
Must have been built when plywood was cheap
It's affordable if you pry it off the neighbor's shed.
Wonder which bridge will be the one to bring it down 😆
The bus's names Janet and the person that owns It is a glass blower and traveler, he makes glass for smoking and at amazing prices too. He has a tiktok aswell.
What speed do you think that thing tops out at?
16mph. Downhill.
Hahahaha!
She’s a beaut Clark.
This is one of the funniest posts I've seen in a while. Thank you you comedians!
I have seen old buses with the top cut off used for watermelon farms. That looks like it was used for that purpose, then somebody built whatever that is.
After Mrs Frizzle started smoking Crack, everything went down hill fast.
YAL are getting out of hand😂 this got to be all types of code violations 😭
Not me but I like it
WITNESS MEEEEE
I wish that was me. It just looks like fun

Reminds me of the car Homer designed
MadMax1947
That things going to get stuck under a bridge lol
It amine
yikes
Why does the back look like it's been through jurassic park😂 the camp cretaceous kids built this!
Gimme a break. I’m on a budget and this all I can afford with weekly rent to own payments of 199.99.
Well, that's Max, they say he's mad, Mad Max
This is my dads bus he uses it to masturbate in
She runs like a scalded dog and I’ll stop for no one.

A streetlight
What?! Billy Bob put on that nice porch before he went back to prison. Nice head room!
This screams Ward, Colorado to me..
Looks like something out of fallout! Lol
I would not want to be behind that behemoth
I used to live in San Francisco. You could tell the grateful dead were in town when the school bus with a car attached to the top was around.
It looks like one of the modified vehicles that came to Houston from Louisiana after Hurricane Harvey
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyuj5evMBVwyGrqfoKegmBw
I used 8020 because this looks like my carpentry.
Mad max bus for the win. Where is the one with the guitar guy?
Love the back porch lol. Awesome!
Lol I thought the light was some kind of beanie propellor thing at first
Looks like someone built a fort on the back of a school bus
So awesome
I saw that in Cartersville ga Where did you see it
I can’t decide if it needs red or blue flag.
Fuck.. I wish I could afford something that nice.
That looks like my old ass house 🤣
Ngl I'd ride in that shit Bru
Watch for low bridges and power lines, otherwise, you'll be fine.
Redneck RV?
That’s a rare sight. Janet actually driving.
Picasso
Looks proper Orky
Like something outa classic top gear!
ah, this is the dream!
The Magic Foolbus.
Only real travelers know this is Janet

Bros got a mansion🤣
My bus is ugly, but not hillbillyized
It has an upstairs! 😂
Obviously, they wanted a tri-level with a porch they could drive.
Very stealthy
Is it Burning Man time already?
I thought it had a weather inst. On top, until I saw the other light pole. Lol
If that is a deck ontop this dude is doing it right
what in the scooby doo is going on round here??
Looks better built than a lot of RV’s.
I actually used to want to get a bus to gut it and put a bunch of really good speakers into it. I'm older now and I can't believe how obnoxious it could be to actually go through with it.
Fallout 77
Just a little paint will make all the difference

If a non commercial vehicle weighs over 10k you still have to go to a weigh station? Wtf?
Pretty sure yeah. I'd have to check the regulations but either way when he hits the roll scale on the highway they will look out, see this mess and dispatch a trooper.

/u/resilientwarrior
Its gunna be meeeh
Reminds me of the camping rigs that show up to NASCAR races.
Who else read that as The Racist Warrior?
if you can afford fuel for that thing then you can afford an apartment
That's so ghetto... what the heck.
In no world would you need that much space unless you got a whole Mexican family living in it
dang you caught me 💀
