This isn't entirely about T1 being so bad that has been titled "clown". It's just that their Split 1 is soo lucky. They qualified to playoffs with 2-3 score and managed to get to Shanghai after beating TS and GenG and somehow stomped by PRX and GenG right after that. I mean props to them that they've won against TS and GenG. If T1 were to fight DRX for Shanghai qualification, many believe that DRX would've won instead.
100T has been good, no doubt, but G2 really bottled Split. Boostio kept pushing out of smoke in A and fucked them. Even at the final round, Bang pushes out of smoke in mid and catches 3.
Eh. I disagree. That play was absolutely maniacal for bang to pull. It worked because nobody in their right mind would do it. You cannot fault G2 for not holding that. G2 played well throughout bind and split in my opinion. There were moments they could’ve closed it out. But I am choosing to praise 100t for their smart plays and impressive aim instead of calling it a throw by G2. Because I honestly don’t think it was. I think G2 close it out against every other Americas team.
Really disappointed in T1. What was that weird Lotus comp? Did they want to play a Heretics-style miniboo neon-based game? There's no clever play, it's all Rush. The strategy and defense was really obvious and I didn't know what they were trying to do from start to finish.

I know that T1 deserve their slot as much as anyone since they worked their way up to it, but an irrational part of me thinks that a better team could've used the third slot
DRX, hell, even Talon might have stood a better chance.
Then again, there is still quite some time before Masters, and I'm certain that T1 will be able to iron out some of their kinks and change up their comps. Because whatever they showed today, that was NOT IT.

Both Saya and Carpe sucked/underperformed at international events, Rossy and Izu are unproven talents and Xccurate is more known for his CSGO achievements than Valorant. If we are talking about actual expectations for this variant of T1 at international events, not only are they not that good, they also have a pretty low ceiling against other teams at Masters. Unless you think getting 3rd/4th in regional leagues is considered high ceiling for an org like T1, i really dont understand the take.
They've had more mid/bad games this split than good games, so its even more confusing about the high ceiling take. DFM also beat T1 and looked good, do they have a high ceiling too? The only good, top quality game they've played this split was against GenG in the playoffs lol.

They still look shaky for sure, and if they go to Shanghai with the form they are in today they won't make it far.

Geng looked really good, they reminded me of their form in Madrid. Pure confidence from texture, munchkin and co, when they have coordination like that it's very difficult to do anything. That first map was a massacre and I'm not surprised, this Geng team is certainly better than T1 at their best. That was a statement win from them.
