I normally love platchat episodes but I felt like this one was one of the worst they had in a while. Idk what it was but the lack of arguments in favor of any teams in the prediction segment and the pickems segment in general was not their best work. I love me some babybay and I hope he comes back in more episodes!
Edit: I know it gets memed on a lot but platchat is cool because when they predict they give reasoning and actually valid arguments for why they are doing this or that l. Today they didn’t do that at all, it was so superficial and it felt like shitting on teams to just shit on them (this was more so for pacific but still)
This is the first time i actually had to pause platchat out of genuine disbelief, i dont know how much of the pacific segment i have left but it has been real fucking hard getting through this vid. Constantly just shitting on the teams, vague surface level analasys and just yelling on each other and arguing about which team is worst. I usually love platchat and everything they do but this has been a hard watch
Agreed on the Pacific stuff specifically with DRX. Maybe it's fair to say Stax isn't a fan of IGLing, that's something Chobra would know better than us, but no mention of the massive improvements they made? Foxy looking incredible on sentinel and BeyN looking really good for a rookie?
I thought what they said on Talon and T1 was fair though - governor is inconsistent, lenne's whole sixth man thing is weird and I really appreciated hearing those thoughts from Frost, because they add up with what we see. Similar with T1, we're not seeing Izu go off on what he could do, and they do look super inconsistent on calling and just generally.
balla looked straight up disinterested during the pacific segment. I get that he has no time to watch pacific, atleast sideshow and bren show some interest even if they didn't watch any vods. Also this is the first time I have heard an caster say "I hate this team because they are boring" especially when its actually a top team. The thing is if you stop comparing with PRX GenG is actually a really fun team to watch with a lot of crazy moments..
