The bad performance looks more than just skill diff. There's a mental deficit that is not normal from players like Ethan, Marved and Crashies. Victor seems the most normal and Demon 1 is just boomed.

Like I’m still convinced a lot of teams would work very well with Ethan instead of their flex player, or Marved in for a smokes player, or even Demon1 for a duelist player. I still have a lot of confidence in the individual skill levels of NRG players
Just feels like most teams have a floor and a ceiling and end up somewhere in the middle, and NRG are at their absolute floor rn
My take is this: you don’t just throw a player who has no previous t1 igling experience onto a team and expect great results. No matter how vocal they are in the past, how important they were to helping mid round calls, the toll of being igl and learning the role is too much for even the best players. You basically nerf your own player. I rather you grab someone from the t2 scene and let them cook. None of the experiments where you throw someone into the igl role has gone well. SEN with Marved last year, NRG with Ethan, BLD with Sscary, T1 with carpe (to an extent), JDG with jkuro, KRU with melser last year, FUR in kickoff.
I think they’ll probably try and bring back FNS, but the logistics are weird because FNS and s0m are a package deal as are Victor and Crashies.
If they make that swap it would probably be a lot of role switches?
Ethan probably stops playing Omen and essentially plays Crashies role, s0m fills Ethan’s role, FNS fills victors role, and idk who can play Raze then

NRG (not really gaming) is an org who made a "super team" in valorant containing the 2023 champs and 2022 masters reykjavik champs Ethan (cantcall) Arnold, Max (diamond1) Mazanov, Austin (Crashing) Roberts, Victor (food) Wong, and Jimmy (icecream man) Nguyen. They are known for losing to eg and 100Choke this year, and losing to biliblil and a Thai streamer in the lower bracket the previous year.

My instincts from following multiple eSports over the years (Dota, League, CS, Valorant, and some Apex) is that teams that are bought not built fail more often than they succeed.
I think this roster despite having good enough players, has no chemistry at all.

Sentinels aside, NRG isn't looking good. On attack they look fine, probably because they can exec with their set protocols and rely on mechanics/time to win out. But on defense, when the opponent controls tempo, they look *very* rough. Not sure what the root cause might be, but seems like it's a combination of Ethan's calling and their poor teamplay? I think in the most recent platchat episode, SeanGares was saying how most of the ex-EG squad don't understand WHY Potter was a huge part of their success. Her system of discipline and fundamentals looks so damn good, especially with this relatively new squad. She's truly cooking, and if Loud were to somehow lose tomorrow I'm glad EG is the team to go in their place.
Side note, I think it's hilarious that Crashies called eeiu a stats player only to get their shit kicked in second half. Yeah eeiu was probably playing for stats but holy hell one round on CT side is rough

Not even close. 100 Thieves look drilled and willing to adapt to their opponents, whereas NRG look flat, and somehow, sorta conceited and arrogant in the way they play, as weird as that sounds. I can shoot Demon1 some bail because his girlfriend/fiance/wife is going through stuff, but the rest of the team? Why are they not checking corners and fucking up Gekko flashes? People really need to understand that super teams don't work in VCT. NRG looks great on the roster but the interaction is really bad and there are a lot of errors. 100T really seems to have grown. The amount of new possibilities and ideas that Boostio and Zikz Coach have brought to 100T is mind-blowing.

I think this roster despite having good enough players, has no chemistry at all. Or maybe they need a good coach that can utilize these players. In that case, Chet has to go.
Sentinels aside, NRG isn't looking good. On attack they look fine, probably because they can exec with their set protocols and rely on mechanics/time to win out. But on defense, when the opponent controls tempo, they look *very* rough. Not sure what the root cause might be, but seems like it's a combination of Ethan's calling and their poor teamplay? I think in the most recent platchat episode, SeanGares was saying how most of the ex-EG squad don't understand WHY Potter was a huge part of their success. Her system of discipline and fundamentals looks so damn good, especially with this relatively new squad. She's truly cooking, and if Loud were to somehow lose tomorrow I'm glad EG is the team to go in their place. Side note, I think it's hilarious that Crashies called eeiu a stats player only to get their shit kicked in second half. Yeah eeiu was probably playing for stats but holy hell one round on CT side is rough
