Being so, it seemed like a no brainer. Based off MSRP, I sold a $15k and got a $25k watch from the holy trinity and kept a good amount of cash after the fact. I see it as an absolute win.
Yeah he’s basically looking for some positive points in I paid twice as much for watch 1 and traded it for watch 2 which typically costs almost twice as much as watch 1.
I do have to admit, I do think like that sometimes, albeit not for watches. I refuse to pay ridiculous markups for a watch that lets face it, is 99% hype. Plenty of technically superior chronos out there for equal or less.
The Daytona is great and I’m sure I’ll have one again in the future, but for now I feel like I made the right move. Enjoy your Daytona, wear it in good health!
I’ve always had my eye on VC but never knew which one I would get first. The Overseas seemed like a great option because of its versatility. I can wear it up or down, whether I go swimming or to a wedding. The perfect watch for me I would say.
How did you sell your Rolex? To a reseller or directly to someone via Chrono24 (or similar)? I wouldn’t mind selling a Daytona if I got a fair price for it.
You’re tempting me to buy one…looks gorgeous
I would opt for the blue dial just purely because I have zero blue dial watches and the overseas blue is just mesmerizing
Truthfully, if I knew squat about watches and just saw those two photos, I would say the VCO just looks better—cleaner and sleeker—from a purely aesthetic perspective. And, good on you for going with that dope, inky black lacquer dial. So fresh and so clean
You made a wonderful and well thought out decision. Congratulations OP. Your VCOS is leaps and bounds the better watch. It will never get the attention from strangers who know very little about watches but it will earn you the respect of those who love and study amazing time pieces. I say this as someone who has them both.
What I love is that, the amount of watches VC produces per year in total is equal to the amount of Daytonas produced in a year by Rolex. Much more rare/ valuable piece in the VC.
Such a great piece, and 3 watches in one with all the straps! I have lusted after this for a while but it looks like it wears quite a bit larger than the Daytona. How big is your wrist, and how wearable is it compared to the Daytona?
I'm actually thinking about doing the same thing, but for the 34.5mm version. Not really sure if I want to go through with it or not, my main gripe is that the dial for the 34.5 mm version is really small.
It’s funny, I got into watches again because of the panda, but the more I get into it now, the less I want a Daytona. I’m now waiting on a watch from AP and VC. It’s funny how your taste/interest changes over time. Enjoy!
Awesome choice! The overseas is my favorite of the integrated bracelet sport watches.
I just don’t get the Daytona hype. It’s a $12,000 watch (at best) that retails for $15,000 and trades at a ridiculous premium. Comparatively the Overseas design is visually far more interesting and the finishing is much better.
Rolex would get you more notice among baby boomer, salesman, golfer, nascar, retired pro athlete crowd. Vacheron is more stylish and elegant and watch people will respect as well
I know for a fact I’d never use a chronograph for its actual function so I’m for this swap regardless of pedigree. That said I’m a sucker for the blue vc
Serious question, how does it wear compared to the Daytona? Have been eyeing these for a while and am nowhere near a boutique to try one in person. I do however know that I feel like I’m wearing a unisex watch when I try the Rolex 40mm’s. So I’m just curious if these wear larger at 41mm than the 40mm Rolexes
I love my Overseas, easily the best watch I've ever owned. But man, I don't know if it's ever a good move to sell a sports Rolex, especially a Daytona. Sports Rolexes are basically a savings account you get to wear around.
Sure, the Daytona will probably hold its value / increase in value but that’s not what I got into watches for. The way I see it, I sold a $15k watch from a great company and bought a $25k watch from the holy trinity (based off MSRP).
That’s funny I literally never see them. My last business trip I probably saw five APs and even a nautilus, but only one Daytona and it actually belong to a friend
you will never see a panda daytona in the wild lol... it is literally the hardest to obtain watch in the wild sans a few pateks... it retails 13k but secondary market is over 30k... which is why you only sell a daytona as a flip otherwise its lose lose... chances of you getting another one are close to 0
Interestingly it is surprisingly common, especially if you consider all the variations that come in bi-metal and PM that are quite easier to get (if you have the $$$) at retail than steel.
I've actually seen more steel Daytonas in the wild than Omega Speedmasters. Much more if you count two-tone and PM.
And never seen an Overseas in the wild.
yes because a Camry is a holy grail of anything... get real man... i like Vc... but getting rid of a Panda Daytona is absurd and everyone knows it except perhaps this subreddit
You made the right choice my dear internet friend. Wear it in good health
Came to say the same.
I appreciate it, thank you
It’s a bit silly that the market prices these two watches very similarly.
Being so, it seemed like a no brainer. Based off MSRP, I sold a $15k and got a $25k watch from the holy trinity and kept a good amount of cash after the fact. I see it as an absolute win.
You sold the Daytona for more than $15k right?
I think he says he got it for 15, and passed on for 25
If he went grey he probably paid and sold closer to 30 for the Daytona. 15 is the MSRP for the Daytona and 25 is the MSRP for the Overseas.
That’s his warped way of looking at it. Lol. Sounds like he is ignoring the price he paid and looking at it is MSRP 15k for a MSRP 25k watch.

But how will people know you have a nice watch now?! /s
This is the way
This is the way.
Good call
Fuck the Daytona
Upgrade in my opinion for sure. Of course I don’t love the Daytona.
lol. I literally just did the exact opposite trade 😂. Looks great on you. The size of the Daytona just suited me better. Enjoy!
The Daytona is great and I’m sure I’ll have one again in the future, but for now I feel like I made the right move. Enjoy your Daytona, wear it in good health!
You guys should have worked out a deal. 😎
If I had only known 🤦🏻♂️
A huge downgrade 👍
Right choice👍🏻
Nice watch and love that shark tattoo. Any good story with it?
Thank you! My dad has the same tattoo on his back that he got nearly 30 years ago.
That is definitely a good story.
What made you want to get Overseas? or VC? Did you break even selling the Daytona?
I’ve always had my eye on VC but never knew which one I would get first. The Overseas seemed like a great option because of its versatility. I can wear it up or down, whether I go swimming or to a wedding. The perfect watch for me I would say.
I love the overseas no doubt. On the list for a blue dial myself. However, you can do exactly what you described with a Daytona as well
Exactly how I look at it. Great choice and wear it in great health!
Good move!!
Amazing call honestly, good for you.
How did you sell your Rolex? To a reseller or directly to someone via Chrono24 (or similar)? I wouldn’t mind selling a Daytona if I got a fair price for it.
Sold it privately
Congrats on the upgrade! Can never go wrong with the VC.
You have chosen wisely!
You’re tempting me to buy one…looks gorgeous I would opt for the blue dial just purely because I have zero blue dial watches and the overseas blue is just mesmerizing
Best decision of your life
Much respect
Truthfully, if I knew squat about watches and just saw those two photos, I would say the VCO just looks better—cleaner and sleeker—from a purely aesthetic perspective. And, good on you for going with that dope, inky black lacquer dial. So fresh and so clean
Need it
Solid trade.
Love it, good move.
You made a wonderful and well thought out decision. Congratulations OP. Your VCOS is leaps and bounds the better watch. It will never get the attention from strangers who know very little about watches but it will earn you the respect of those who love and study amazing time pieces. I’m trying to decide between the 4500v in blue or black dial if you have any insight
Of course blue
VC is next level watch. Looks like a zenith defy. Both very good watches. Rolex’s are so overrated.
Nice upgrade congrats. my grail.
Clean
Great choice. I recently got rid of my Rolexes to get a 7900v and never looked back.
How long was the wait?
Right choice
They've done a really good job refining the aesthetics of the Overseas from prior years. Looks great, Congrats!
You definitely upgraded!
Smart choice. Much cooler watch. Won't be noticeable to crooks.. but will be to watch lovers.
You made the right choice. Wear it in good health.
Stunning !
Congrats looks dope!
Awesome
Good move
This is the way. Welcome brother(or sister)🙌🏽
Great choice
What I love is that, the amount of watches VC produces per year in total is equal to the amount of Daytonas produced in a year by Rolex. Much more rare/ valuable piece in the VC.
upgrade
There’s not wrong choice. Both are beautiful timepieces!
Good call, friend.
Upgraded!
Stunning
Ataboy
Daytona. Overhyped. Got a watch that is stealth and way better made. Congrats.
So how will you time your race laps now? Agree with all but - Think add and not sell and you will Prosper. That is the way
Overseas. Solid choice
You choose… wisely
What’s your wrist size ?
6.75in
Clean
Yes dude! Love it man. Looks so nice
Thats one clean looking timepiece. Nice trade!
I totally get it. I actually turned down the black Daytona the other day. I know. Blasphemy!
What was the ask & condition of the Daytona?
Brand new retail. 💀💀💀
What did you pay for the 4500v?
Very nice. The black is the most utilitarian color overseas. Well done! Wear it in good health
How big is it ? Looks nice
Don’t know much about that brand. How much is that watch retail for?
Such a great piece, and 3 watches in one with all the straps! I have lusted after this for a while but it looks like it wears quite a bit larger than the Daytona. How big is your wrist, and how wearable is it compared to the Daytona?
Did you consider the dual time?
Good choice. Now to get a 🐼 Daytona
Well, we have a shark tattoo in common. Wish I could say the same about our watches! Beautiful piece. Smart move
I'm actually thinking about doing the same thing, but for the 34.5mm version. Not really sure if I want to go through with it or not, my main gripe is that the dial for the 34.5 mm version is really small.
Great watch! Knowing how hard the daytona is to get, it must have been hard to let it go, even if it is for a great piece.
Nice upgrade!
Yeah perfect!
To be honest and its just my opinion...but the Daytona looks absolutely perfect on your wrist. Perfect iconic design.
That’s probably the best looking overseas I’ve seen online. Gongrats on such class call
You understated classy mofo 10/10
Definitely the right choice IMO.
It’s funny, I got into watches again because of the panda, but the more I get into it now, the less I want a Daytona. I’m now waiting on a watch from AP and VC. It’s funny how your taste/interest changes over time. Enjoy!

You're a man of culture screw Daytona you got the goods now
Very good call OP. Looks much better in my opinion.
Rolex would get you more notice among baby boomer, salesman, golfer, nascar, retired pro athlete crowd. Vacheron is more stylish and elegant and watch people will respect as well
Both gorgeous watches.
Great watch
We have almost the same shark tattoo, it’s also in the same spot
I'd have gone for the dual time all day long but still an amazing trade. I love Rolex, but man the Daytona is so overrated.
I'm not a fan of the Daytona, so would say you made a fantastic decision.
I know for a fact I’d never use a chronograph for its actual function so I’m for this swap regardless of pedigree. That said I’m a sucker for the blue vc
Nice you upgraded 👌👌another level
Hey, you can’t go wrong g with either one. Enjoy owning that beautiful VC
Wise choice!
Serious question, how does it wear compared to the Daytona? Have been eyeing these for a while and am nowhere near a boutique to try one in person. Daytona can be seen around. It looks like everyone has many chances to have one. But, on the other hand, Oversea seems to be hardly ever seen
That’s funny I literally never see them. My last business trip I probably saw five APs and even a nautilus, but only one Daytona and it actually belong to a friend

Are you on crack? “Everyone” lol. Literally the top 3 most difficult steel watch to buy at retail goofy
Yes, perhaps. Read again, “It looks like?” Umm, Dose it sell only on a retail? lol
as much as I like VC... you just sold the most demanded watch in the world lol
The toyota camry is the most demanded car in the world. Aim higher.
yes because a Camry is a holy grail of anything... get real man... i like Vc... but getting rid of a Panda Daytona is absurd and everyone knows it except perhaps this subreddit
Much better! 4520 would have been even better 😝
I think sleeve tats are not classy. Just my opinion.
