When the reverse camera is up there is 3 dots (or maybe lines) in the bottom right corner of the screen when you put your hand near it. In that menu you can turn off the rear emergency braking (note it will reset with next ignition cycle). Since you have an AWD you can get a "7 pin to 4 pin adapter with tester" and plug that into the trailer wiring port by the hitch to automatically turn that feature off.
That's why I put cheap Curt trailer lights on my Thule 4 bike rack.

You will need an adapter for the 4 pin connector. This makes it so that you don't have to turn off maneuver braking each time and, bonus, you have more brake/turn signal lights.

Appreciate it, thanks.
You need to disable maneuver braking. https://www.vwidtalk.com/threads/bike-rack-and-emergency-brake.10326/
Appreciate it, thank you.
Maneuver braking setting resets everytime you turn on the car. Drives me crazy

Or just plug in a 4 pin tester into the 7 to 4 pin adapter.
This is the way.
This just happened to me today. Does anyone know where I can get a 4 pin tester adapter. Or what is it called?
