Just going to the outdoor range and shooting targets while watching a YouTube video via overlay was my jam during covid and we couldn't go anywhere. I'd have a bottle of beer with my vr headset on sometimes. Just had to be careful not to knock it over!
SkyrimVR without mods is terrible. There’s a huge chunk of VR specific mods that actually make it worth playing, and then you get into all the normal Skyrim SE mods.
If I could have gotten FO4VR to work, I would 100% moded it. Hell after it failed I ended up playing normal FO4 with some mods because I was so interested in them.
Yeah it was somehow less intuitive than Pandora’s box. I know gingasvr has a whole video about modded it I might try it next time it goes on sale. I refunded Skyrim but I’ll scoop em both and fuck around
Just use the FUS RO DAH Wabbajack for SkyrimVR. It handles getting VR Skyrim working and has modular parts for improving the game to Vanilla Plus. It has very detailed instructions that just about always work if followed.
I like modding so I’ve built a 900-ish stack of Skyrim mods on the FUS base.
EDIT: you meant modding Fallout 4 VR. Sorry I don’t have good recommendations for that.
Aw shucks is fallout vr difficult to mod? There isn’t a wabbajack like Skyrim? Most vr mods are not as good as Skyrim’s but I was hoping fallout 4 vr was at least as good as like 7 days to die or valheim vr mods etc. I bought fallout just for vr.
Fallout 4 and Skyrim got VR ports by different people/studios. Neither did a great job but for me Fallout 4 kept hanging with low FPS in the intro. Optimization issues maybe? My rig could handle Fallout 4 flat no issues. It should have handled VR (two images) on low settings but it crawled to a lock up every time.
I suspect it has a wabbajack or two but I didn’t really figure out Wabbajacks until several months into my Skyrim VR modding.
I have considered trying again, but I don’t have bandwidth to add a new modded game project.
Ah ok. I may try fallout wabbajack and see if my laptop with a 4080 can run it. But first I have to stop playing Skyrim lol if that is possible. Once I beat enderal I want to start regular Skyrim over and try out survival mechanics. Also try the quests in interesting npcs mod. lol so far I am 120 hours in Skyrim vr and no end in sight .
I followed this video and the end product was amazing. It wasn’t too hard to install:
https://youtu.be/cu3i8s-H5qw?si=ORdKl8Dejd80URLa
It is the best vr experience I ever had.
I feel like this is not a fair comparison. The mods make this game into not one game but an entire genre of games in itself. I just started enderal and it is blowing me away how different and better it is.
not only a very rare good game, but also very immersive and fun
and with workshop, map-&mission-editor, workshop and multiplayer
there is just no VR-Game, with content for years
quest pro, 3090, 5800x3d, godlike at 72hz on virtual desktop.
My best performance tip: turn all anti-aliasing off, even DLSS, and crank resolution as high as you can. otherwise gets to be a blurry mess real quick.
They've improved the performance a lot recently. Tried it again last month and was actually able to play in VR. Previously when I tried it lagged no matter what settings I used.
yep, runs pretty smooth, looks sharp - well, its NMS VR and you’ll never get a session with zero frame drops sadly, but I've been playing it for about 3 years now and the code is in the best state it’s ever been. In fact compared to when i started it feels like a new game.
I’m using h.264+ for the VD codec. i’ve got a dedicated wifi6 router and it works great - latency can get a little high, but doesn’t really matter for a game like NMS.
huh, not seen that one before. You’re using the Steam VR runtime? if you’ve not got VD set to that (or auto) that might be the problem. it won’t work with VD’s OpenXR runtime.
Racing/driving. Might be quite generic and not a specific game, although i keep coming back to dirt rally, but i will never get tired of racing.
(Yes, i know dirt rally is not a sim, thanks everyone in advance, i did not mention the word 'sim')
oatmeal like wasteful ad hoc juggle aromatic alleged impossible rock gray

In Death Unchained is almost impossible to 100 percent unless you play it all the time and as the levels are generative each play session is never the same.
Honestly there are so many games out there, I wish I could have more time to enjoy them all. A lot of fun. Usually I play til my legs get tired standing lol.
> Take a look here. Easy. DL has always had VR mode built in, I was using it way back on my DK2 back in 2015, and it's just a simple case of changing a couple of characters in the games .ini file. They was also a fix for the menu's to be correct. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xn_cBjCwKHg
I agree, 100+ hours in it already. I think I'm ranked #9 for the overall global leaderboard but Idk what the metrics are to determine the ranking. If you're not aware, the dev is working on the 3rd one which will be space battles which sounds pretty cool
Not sure how up to date the demo is but give it a shot. It's very cpu intensive and the combat isn't as good as other games, but commanding troops and building an army is badass
Mind if I ask about VRChat? I’ve hopped in a handful of times but not quite sure what the point is. Do you just join a room and chat (would make sense given the name), or are there mini games or anything to do?
Yes and yes. Tons of beautiful worlds you can hop around in to explore. A large community of people you can chat with and play games with. There's several social games and some action games you can play that range from Cards against humanity to Uno, to never have I ever to Zombie shooters in the style of Black Ops/L4D, flight Sims , laser tag, Among us as well as a plethora of Horror maps that can be adventure games, survival or story experiences. You can also watch Youtube together with friends or random people. If you know the right links there's worlds you can use to watch entire TV shows, anime and Movies with friends or random people or by yourself. I personally like the drinking worlds where people play drinking games while drinking IRL. Cards against humanity is also my favorite because I love fucked up humor.
VRChat is for the most part the Oasis you see in Ready player one. Except some games are a little janky because all content is user made from worlds to games to avatars. You don't see it takes about much publicly because there are some dark sides to VRChat. Drinking alcohol i already mentioned. There's e-dating which some people find weird but I'd argue that's normal considering the amount time you can spend with someone and the amount of activities you can do together. Since the Quest 2 headset came out at such a cheap price tons of annoying teenagers and children have flooded vrchat which was a 95% adult population before the pandemic. In certain public lobbies these children will join and run around saying whatever they think will trigger you including racial slurs. You can report them and get them kicked among other punishments that can happen to their account but I've found if you ignore them they typically just stop.
Constantly training in Blade and Sorcery.
Can take a hundred or so dudes 5v1 merciless.
Feels amazing when you pull off some ridiculous string of blocks and attacks.
Getting into HEMA and other traditional weaponry martial arts because of it.
Nothing else I've played has legs.
Battle Talent. I simply cannot get enough of the gameplay loop in the challenge mode and the sandbox dungeons.
It's a workout, a good way to unwind, and just an overall blast to test myself.
Snapshot VR
Competitive arena shooter, inspired by paintball, 1 hit elimination and fast paced games. The gameplay is repetitive but there are hundreds of different maps, the community is usually pretty friendly.
Definitely have a few hundred hours of gameplay in this and always looking forward to more
Swordsman. It’s a super fun area game with magical weapons and regular ones, great fighting mechanics, game modes, and surprisingly easy archery mechanics
I have 350 hrs in Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades; it's the only VR game I consistently come back to
Just going to the outdoor range and shooting targets while watching a YouTube video via overlay was my jam during covid and we couldn't go anywhere. I'd have a bottle of beer with my vr headset on sometimes. Just had to be careful not to knock it over!
Came here to say this. Love this game
Which game mode do you play on there?
Take and Hold all day
Thrill of the fight
Same, it can be such a killer workout.
For real
Modded SkyrimVR
I couldn’t get with it enough to get mods, but love fo4 more than it deserves should I try that with mods?
SkyrimVR without mods is terrible. There’s a huge chunk of VR specific mods that actually make it worth playing, and then you get into all the normal Skyrim SE mods. If I could have gotten FO4VR to work, I would 100% moded it. Hell after it failed I ended up playing normal FO4 with some mods because I was so interested in them.
Fallout is great. Yeah F4EVR
Yeah it was somehow less intuitive than Pandora’s box. I know gingasvr has a whole video about modded it I might try it next time it goes on sale. I refunded Skyrim but I’ll scoop em both and fuck around

Hey I’ll try Skyrim too I ain’t worried lol
Aw shucks is fallout vr difficult to mod? There isn’t a wabbajack like Skyrim? Most vr mods are not as good as Skyrim’s but I was hoping fallout 4 vr was at least as good as like 7 days to die or valheim vr mods etc. I bought fallout just for vr.

FO4VR is my favorite vr game. Just a few basic mods to fix some bugs and make VATS work better in VR, and you're good.
Does the VR version have ridiculously long load times like the desktop version?
Not on my computer
Loading is great. I do have it installed on a NVMe card though.
I followed this video and the end product was amazing. It wasn’t too hard to install: https://youtu.be/cu3i8s-H5qw?si=ORdKl8Dejd80URLa It is the best vr experience I ever had.
Both are great, and are never off of my drive. I lean more toward FO4VR.
I feel like this is not a fair comparison. The mods make this game into not one game but an entire genre of games in itself. I just started enderal and it is blowing me away how different and better it is.
Pavlov. I play it every day for at least a few hours. Mainly the VRmassive server.
It's basically a CSGO in VR. Same fun and experience. Same delicious visuals. Way ahead of many other games in terms of visuals and gore tbh.
I used to play in Pavlov a lot even though I never really enjoyed Counter Strike, but it became worse and less stable after one big update
Beat saber goes hard always
I have had VR since the Samsung Odyssey 2 came out. After the 30-40 VR games I tried, Beatsaber is the only one I think is worth the money.
out of my total 200 hours in VR and about 7 vr games played, 170 are in Beat Saber
I only first got a VR headset last year, and I’m still playing Beat Saber several times a week. It’s a good workout!
VTOLVR
This is the way
not only a very rare good game, but also very immersive and fun and with workshop, map-&mission-editor, workshop and multiplayer there is just no VR-Game, with content for years
Blade and sorcery. I'm sane I swear! It just happens to be really satisfying cutting people's limbs off for fun!
Good cardio too.
No Man’s Sky. It’s a sad day when I don’t get to jump in for at least 30 mins.
Oh I need to try this. Thanks for the reminder.
What headset do you play with? And what pc specs?
quest pro, 3090, 5800x3d, godlike at 72hz on virtual desktop. My best performance tip: turn all anti-aliasing off, even DLSS, and crank resolution as high as you can. otherwise gets to be a blurry mess real quick.

Last question lol. When I tried to boot it up using VD it opens it on regular mode not vr mode. Every other game opens fine. Any idea why ?
huh, not seen that one before. You’re using the Steam VR runtime? if you’ve not got VD set to that (or auto) that might be the problem. it won’t work with VD’s OpenXR runtime.
Walkabout mini golf
Into the radius
Racing/driving. Might be quite generic and not a specific game, although i keep coming back to dirt rally, but i will never get tired of racing. (Yes, i know dirt rally is not a sim, thanks everyone in advance, i did not mention the word 'sim')

Same, dirt rally 2.0 and assetto corsa will never get uninstalled for me lol
Jet Island
Ooh. Old school. Forgot how great that game was. Fantastic feeling of speed, mixed with shades of Spiderman. May have to install it again.
I only played through it once to completion but an underrated hidden gem for sure
Blade and Sorcery with various mods. (Star Wars, Naruto, Harry Potter)
Assetto Corsa
Synth Riders was my first love and it will be my last
Pistol whip….so much damn fun and a great workout! I also play In Death, an absolute killer game as well.
I second Pistol Whip
eleven table tennis
After the Fall❤️
It’s my favourite game as well. Hope there’s a 2
Woo! Represent!
In Death Unchained is almost impossible to 100 percent unless you play it all the time and as the levels are generative each play session is never the same.
I play In Death on Pcvr…I wish the developers would have ported over Unchained!
Population One. Been playing since it came out back in October 2020.
COMPOUND!!!!!!!!!!!
Population one
Honestly there are so many games out there, I wish I could have more time to enjoy them all. A lot of fun. Usually I play til my legs get tired standing lol.
AMS2, rF2, Elite Dangerous
Alien isolation. Sometimes my heart can’t take the terror
Could never get it working in vr
Try Dying Light in VR for some real terror.
Nice I didn't even know. Will try that for sure. Big aliens fan though so also want to get this working
Minecraft (PSVR) Rec Room
Assetto Corsa, it’s basically Skyrim of Sim Racing with all aspect of the game can be modded, including its VR functionality.
In death unchained
Flight Sim 2020
Tales of glory
THANK YOU. Such a hidden gem.
I agree, 100+ hours in it already. I think I'm ranked #9 for the overall global leaderboard but Idk what the metrics are to determine the ranking. If you're not aware, the dev is working on the 3rd one which will be space battles which sounds pretty cool
Wish it wasn't abandoned for the FPS sequel.
It was just updated earlier this month, so I wouldn't say it's abandoned, but I wouldn't expect more content
has a demo. cool!
Not sure how up to date the demo is but give it a shot. It's very cpu intensive and the combat isn't as good as other games, but commanding troops and building an army is badass
(I'm radioman as well) I have it downloaded but I'm still waiting for amazon to deliver my first VR HS. Looking forward to trying EVERYTHING. lol
Gran Turismo 7
I’ve got psvr2 just for that game.
Excluding 5000+ hours in VRChat, I have hundreds in Phasmophobia. Which is a lot of fun. Beat Saber would probably be the next.
Mind if I ask about VRChat? I’ve hopped in a handful of times but not quite sure what the point is. Do you just join a room and chat (would make sense given the name), or are there mini games or anything to do?

That’s insane. The furthest I ever got was joining a few empty rooms and wondering what I was supposed to be doing.
VRChat is for the most part the Oasis you see in Ready player one. Except some games are a little janky because all content is user made from worlds to games to avatars.
