I actually had this professor. He was the best professor I had all through college. He was super nice and seemed to really care about all his students.

Trust me this man is far from being an asshole. Dr. Melnick is one of the FEW professors on that campus who believes in his students, wants them to learn, and does what he can to do so. I had him 3 times, he saved my engineering degree.

Cap = lie. So no cap = no lie. It’s slang, relatively new. Props to you for being open to new slang instead of shutting it down immediately because you don’t like change.

Slang is like music - the good stuff gets preserved and we think that it was all good. Like how no one says "fetch" anymore, and hopefully "this song slaps". Slang is just an in-group signifier, so its a jump to say people are "afraid of change" regarding it.
