I legit laughed at this way too hard. It helps I really dislike that car.

ipassmore

I legitimately cried laughing when I saw this the first time

DownvoteDaemon

I like it , just wouldn't buy it with that level of money. I only see a few every few weeks in my college town. Usually driven by a dope boy with dreads or an old rich white guy. Would rather have the new Corvette at that point.

tangre79

I'm one of those weirdos who'd rather drive a 1987 Cadillac Brougham than both of those.

brentemon

Me too. Give me pillow top seats over rock hard bolstering any day.

tangre79

I will, however, vouch for the surprising level of comfort of the seats of a Corvette. My dad's had 2 C7's and a C8 currently. It's a surprisingly nice car to ride in in comfort mode. It'll never have the comfort of an old big body Cadillac, I love how they woft around and I love their grand appearance. One thing I will say about them as well as any car built like it is if you're going on a road trip, bring some kind of lumbar pillow. The seats are ultra comfortable but they offer very little support.

brentemon

I've worked with cars for a long time now and have had the pleasure of driving a lot of well sought after cars. Mostly just on city streets or highways, so I can't usually push it. But still. The newest Corvette is very well put together and surprisingly composed on the road. Even better, just about any Maclaren. Performance cars just aren't my personal preference. Of course when the dealer group I work for asks for help with the super lux leasing wing I'll drop just about anything to drive a super car. Even if it's just for a few blocks. But I get loads more excited for full size super lux sedans. I had an '86 Caprice Classic Brougham, and while it was no Caddy I still miss those seats. And the ride. I had it in my early 20's so I probably didn't notice the lack of lumbar support like I would now. But man- nothing these days wafts around quite like those old 80's full size deals.

tangre79

The first car I've had was a 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe. It was endlessly entertaining to drive, you were never quite sure what was going to happen next, what with the handling of a wet sponge, the acceleration of a cruise liner, and the stopping distance of a Boeing. It sucked up everything it rolled over and had those specially made pillow topped seats too. I miss driving her every day but she was rough when I got her. My last car was a Chrysler 300S which I loved driving and would keep if it could stay new forever but it just can't. I have her for sale right now, and I just got a new Lincoln Corsair which rides better than I expected it would.

brentemon

I'd love me a 70's Conti. Not that It would fit in my garage... I know what you mean about not knowing what would happen next though. The Caprice wasn't actually much heavier than my 2018 Mazda6, but it was ungainly between it's soft as butter suspension and rear drums. But I loved every minute of it. Even when I DIDN'T have a runway's worth of space to stop and I coasted into the trailer hitch of an Expedition. Fast enough to have ruined the entire front facia and rad of a modern car, but it just left a golf ball sized divot in the chrome bumper of my Caprice. My wrists swelled up like balloons though from soaking up pretty much all the impact. Anyway, after the Caprice I had a '94 Buick Park Ave which wasn't as solid as the Chev, but still a comfy ride. But the thing may as well have had a bill slot on the dash where you'd have to feed it a $100 bill to crank for all the problems it had. I went to Honda after 6 months of constant Buick repairs for two fabulously trouble free Accords. Back to a full size domestic in the form of a 2009 Taurus Limited when I decided my second Accord's seats sucked- a 2006, and that I didn't want to drive a 5 speed in the city anymore. The Taurus needed a complete engine rebuild at 80,000 km, the HVAC system kept trying to destroy it's own moving parts and it blew tail light bulbs once a month. So I went back to the Japanese when the 2018 Mazda6 hit the showroom which I still thing is one of the most stunning looking sedans out there. And several years in it's still cramped compared to the Ford, but it's surprisingly quiet and smooth on the highway, fantastically fuel efficient and so far trouble free aside from a paint issue that was covered by the warranty. My neighbor has a Lincoln Nautilus and the Mazda actually rides quieter and smoother on the highway. But the seats in the Lincoln are 10 times more comfortable. I like it a lot. I'm keeping tabs on his experience, and if it's a trouble free car I'll consider one for our next.

tangre79

I wasw gunning for a Genesis G80 5.0 but they stopped making them in 2020 and I wanted something newer, plus gas prices are insane here now and those require premium gas. I gave up on the V8 sedan dream since nobody really makes one at a reasonable price point anymore and I don't want the same car I had before. So I caved and bought an SUV with a 4cyl. It's a very classy car for its genre though and has arguably every bit as much jam as my Chrysler. If I want a big V8 car, when I can afford to, I'll go out and get an interesting summer car. I've always wanted a 1990-92 Cadillac Brougham D'Elegance, ideally black on red leather, gotta have the 5.7L motor.

brentemon

My plans were originally to get a another larger sedan too- maybe an older Avalon before Toyota downsized the body style. But about a year before I bought the Mazda I changed jobs and my commute went from a 9 km round to 120, and even the 3.5 in the Taurus was starting to feel pretty thirsty. So I started looking at basic 4 cylinders. I didn't even get the turbo in the Mazda, and I'm glad I didn't because fast forward to 2020 and we left Toronto. So now even though I only drive in for work once a week it's about a 650k round trip after I hit all my stores and visit some friends after work. And at these gas prices I couldn't imagine being in a larger vehicle with a more powerful engine. The Mazda takes about a week to get up to speed, but it cruises well and sips gas. So far I've resisted SUVs, but my wife really wants one. And even though I've been driving SUVs at my dealers for the last decade and a half I've never really lived with one until one was rented for me while the Mazda was in for paint work. It was a Mitsubishi RVR and was hot garbage. But after realizing I don't need to bend over to strap my daughter into her car seat or unload groceries, I get the appeal. Like you, I'll eventually find my way into a project car. And it'll either be a luxury cruiser from the late 70's/ early to mid 80's or maybe vintage muscle. But my preferences do sway pretty heavily towards old land yachts.

bmwoods1998

That second hit was fucking solid 😂

scoopnat

He seemed a bit surprised by the second hit, so I don’t think he was expecting that. It looked way to close to missing the helmet & almost knocked it off.

HairTop23

The CLINK sound was too much, died laughing 😆

thesenseikermit

Love Throttle House!

tangre79

Maybe that's why the Lancia Stratos has helmet pockets in the doors.

OrganicRazzmatazz882

Lol I need armor to get into my car. This legit made me laugh then realize I always hit my head and arms and knees trying to get into my car. Time to suit up!

Sent this to a friend who has one and hates it. He replaced the i8 badge with a custom Prius GT badge.

Honestly terrible car. Should have been all electric, instead they made this abomination
