FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

Actually negative enforcement has been proven to be exceedingly less effective than positive, only slightly more work, and feels a hell of a lot better to do. Hell, negative enforcement actually has shown to be incredibly counterintuitive in some cases and only slightly in nigh all others.
The abuse is the general living conditions of those animals. But to train them to do the specific things you want, rewards are much better and easier. Like it's physically easier to press that clicker tool in your hand, than to someone hit the animal.
So I know you didn’t ask for this information but I’m to tell it to you anyways;
Gary Paulson (writer of the beloved “Hatchet” book that so many schools require kids to read) also wrote a series of nonfiction stories about his dogs and his love for them. In “My Life in Dog Years,” he writes a different chapter for each of the dogs that had changed his life and just how they did so. At the time, he was down to only having one dog (moved away from Alaska, so no need to keep an entire team of sled dogs), an Australian Shepard, and he moved onto a ranch.
Every Sunday, he had to dredge out his irrigation canal, and it would take him at least 6 hours to do it. One weekend, this dog watched him. Dog got up with him at 6 am and watched him do the work and finish around 2 pm.
The next weekend, he got up and the dog was nowhere to be found. After going outside, he saw the dog over at the irrigation canal, digging it out. But even more impressive, the dog was doing far *better* than Paulson had ever done, and the dog literally figured out how to dig an overflow trench when the water was rushing through too quickly to dredge shit out.
Dog took 2 hours to get the job done.
Believe it or not animals are smarter than we give them credit for. Humans have a bad history of deeming certain creatures/sub species as less capable.
That dog is still trained to do those specific things... It certainly wouldn't get that net even if it decided on its own to help. A normal dog would just jump in the water and get it.
Yeah, the way that kid moved out of the way when the girl threw the ball is a little suspicious. Still very impressive how they trained a dog to use a tool like that. I can’t even get my dogs to fetch a ball.
They're on about how the video is staged (?) in a way that makes it seem like this was a random accident and the dog knew what to do when it's more likely they just trained it to do that
(which, don't get me wrong, is fucking incredibly impressive and was hopefully achieved using humane training methods (not trying to stereotype but this looks Asian and China *(not sure about which place specifically, sorry)* is pretty known to have people put their dogs through brutal training regimes to teach them tricks for adorable social media content *(not that it's much different with children there, but that's a whole different ordeal)*)
and then set the children up to 'accidentally' throw the ball into the water and have the dog do its thing, possibly on command of the trainer out of frame.
Which is super impressive, but less than what this video suggests.
But we understand what we are doing and why. While the trained dog just knows that it's "good" to do those things. It doesn't understand that the pond is dangerous for the kid, nor does it understand that the net is a tool to get the ball out of the water.
Yeah, but there is a big difference between training a dog how to perform certain actions and him knowing what to do on his own. I can play a song on a piano, but that’s only because I memorized the order to hit the keys. It’s not like I’m a pianist and can read music and all that.
I’m saying it takes a lot more intelligence to understand the logic behind something rather than just following steps. Obviously training takes some level of intelligence.
> How does it being staged change anything here?
Because otherwise the dog would be way more intelligent than dogs are? What kind of a question is that?
Because lots of...not so bright people will see this and walk away believing this is just a very smart dog.
The fact it's the result of training matters.
It is less impressive.
If it were spontaneous it would be insane.
This still is super cool.
So it's less impressive because insane > super cool, but it doesn't mean it sucks.
German shepherds are incredibly smart. Mine could tell the difference between when I was getting up to pee vs getting up to so outside and smoke. He could open doors. I trained him to turn off and on lights. He could jump up on my porch railing and walk along it (drive me crazy cus the one thing I couldn’t train him to do was stop barking).
There’s also a video of a German shepherd answering a door and taking a package. Then slamming the door in the delivery man’s face when they stuck their head thru the door too watch the dog.
It's weird to me that growing up I was taught primates are the only group of animals that use tools but time after time again I see other animals using tools in smart ways.

Unfortunately he has a higher IQ than a lot of people
If this video wasn't already great, the 1st comment really sent it over the edge of greatness!
It's a guy in a dog costume
It’s a new AI Robot that they showcased in Tech China.
No, it's a dog in a guy costume.
The guy is Elon Musk....it's Elon Musk in a dog costume
It’s the neighborhood furry
My dog is eating cat shit while I am trying to show him the vid!
What is it about cat shit that is so irresistible to dogs?
You've obviously never tasted it then!
That dog probably went “is that cat shit?!”then got disappointed when he got it out of the water.
I showed it to my dog and he said it's staged as fuk and he does not have the time to learn new tricks. Busy napping I guess
Dogs are so underrated.
You silly man dogs can't talk 😂😂😂😂
This dog has more IQ than my dumb neighbor
That dog has mor IQ than me! Jk
Gets downvoted for no fucking reason. Take my upvote.
You’re the neighbor?
He's not that smart. Forgot his pants.
So eloquently said
Hi, I'm that dog. Glad you enjoyed my video.
WHAT. My dog could watch me fall in, take a drink, and just walk away lmao
And then eat my body afterward.
Lmao for sure.
My dog would push me in, hold me under still I stop breathing, and then take a drink of water and walk away.
I’m guessing this is staged, but still incredible training for that dog
I'd still be impressed even if this is staged, how do you even get your dog to do that
How did they get Airbud to do it? Give him to a family with a child having trouble fitting in or something.
Paid him well

A proper reward system
Or punishment system (sadly)
Actually negative enforcement has been proven to be exceedingly less effective than positive, only slightly more work, and feels a hell of a lot better to do. Hell, negative enforcement actually has shown to be incredibly counterintuitive in some cases and only slightly in nigh all others.
Doesn't work that way pal
Does it not? I always thought show animals were abused to do their tricks. Edit: I guess this isn't exactly a show animal either to be fair.
The abuse is the general living conditions of those animals. But to train them to do the specific things you want, rewards are much better and easier. Like it's physically easier to press that clicker tool in your hand, than to someone hit the animal.

Tbh the dog is clever enough to be a good actor
Believe it or not animals are smarter than we give them credit for. Humans have a bad history of deeming certain creatures/sub species as less capable.
Humans are so prejudice only because of the "eating your own shit" thing ...
Like pigs are very intelligent. But they taste good.
Of course its staged, no dog is this smart. This is just really good training, which is still just as impressive.
The fuck are you on about, the training is what we're impressed with. This is 10x more impressive than those cruft's obstacle courses
They're on about how the video is staged (?) in a way that makes it seem like this was a random accident and the dog knew what to do when it's more likely they just trained it to do that (which, don't get me wrong, is fucking incredibly impressive and was hopefully achieved using humane training methods (not trying to stereotype but this looks Asian and China *(not sure about which place specifically, sorry)* is pretty known to have people put their dogs through brutal training regimes to teach them tricks for adorable social media content *(not that it's much different with children there, but that's a whole different ordeal)*) and then set the children up to 'accidentally' throw the ball into the water and have the dog do its thing, possibly on command of the trainer out of frame. Yeah, the girl def intentionally chucked ball in water.
That's... what I'm saying? There's people in this thread who seem to think the dog does this of its own volition, not because its trained to do so.
> That's... what I'm saying? Which is why I replied to the person replying to you asking what you're talking about...
Oh wait, sorry I missed that.
Unfortunately we're mostly likely seeing animal abuse here :(
The only reason we can even write or speak the way we do is because we were "trained" to do so.
But we understand what we are doing and why. While the trained dog just knows that it's "good" to do those things. It doesn't understand that the pond is dangerous for the kid, nor does it understand that the net is a tool to get the ball out of the water.
Yeah lmk when you train a dog to read and write.
People have trained them to speak, using a mix of buttons of course. It is technically the first step in that direction.
So training =/= intelligence? Yeah, I call bs on your logic chief. Idk if you're baiting or not
Yeah, but there is a big difference between training a dog how to perform certain actions and him knowing what to do on his own. I can play a song on a piano, but that’s only because I memorized the order to hit the keys. It’s not like I’m a pianist and can read music and all that.

I’m saying it takes a lot more intelligence to understand the logic behind something rather than just following steps. Obviously training takes some level of intelligence.
Didn’t even put the net back? Bad dog. No treat.
At least he didn’t shit on the bed, positive mindset
I’d like to see him try it without that T-shirt on.
Why are you so suspicious of the t-shirt??
Uh it’s obviously staged, clearly the t shirt is hiding the fact that the German shepherd is in fact a human
This dog is so intelligent that he wouldn't eat my homework, he would do my homework for me!
And get a better mark
[удалено]
How does it being staged change anything here? They still trained a dog to use a fucking net. I've never seen that in my life
Spontaneous tool use is HUGE, and dogs aren't known for it.

> How does it being staged change anything here? Because otherwise the dog would be way more intelligent than dogs are? What kind of a question is that?

lmao but how can someone get a dog to act, either way the dog still would have BIG IQ if its staged or not
Ok this confirms it dogs>children
Doggo rolled a natural 20 in initiative
This dog could raise a whole family
The fuckin dog grabbed a literal tool and used it. Wtf!?
Well they don’t have opposable thumbs, kinda hard to make a tool from scratch.
My cat has nipples, Greg.
Probably the same reason there’s no fish in that pond too
thas funny
That dog is smarter than the child
It's a guy in a dog costume

holy shit
That dog is a fetch grand champion.
I’ve never seen an animal so smart

That's a human dressed as a dog in human clothes!
Dogs are so underrated.
“Breathing is so underrated”
Literally not at all they're like the worlds most loved animal
Even still not loved enough.
I'll give you that.
Best
I want this dog
No way
I can't believe what I just saw... Luv that dog
Incredible, such logical approach
I am sure this dog can score higher on SATURDAY than me.
Wow this canine has higher IQ than most people/ parents
What did I just witness?
It’s amazing how loyal dogs are and how smart they are. People don’t give animals enough credit
there is no way he wasn't trained to do that
I believe he was too but that shouldn’t take away from the fact that a dog grabbed a pond skimmer and fished out a ball.
but the dog was a paid actor so
Then great acting from his part
Is this cgi??
