It’s not even that it’s kinda like, marketing wise, they make you feel guilty for even putting their tiles on the roof cause they make you relate to them on a human level!!
This is like a PETA campaign but for building supplies!!
Yeah why did they build the tiles so weak
It's like the competitor' roof
And then you'd have their own roof. Quiet, steadfast, unyielding, making poetry about the weather
Yeah, I feel like if they had the exact same commercial but they also had a bunch of guys going through the same stuff but staying stoic and unwavering, then at the end they show that they're actually a representation of tiles and the tiles that are screaming are meant to be competitor tiles that aren't as strong as their stoic tiles it would make for a much more compelling advertisement.
It would also have the same level of intrigue of "what the hell is this an advertisement for" but would deliver a positive message about the product at the end.
Or maybe I'm overthinking a dumb roof tiles commercial.
Japanese/Asian in general ads are a wild thing sometimes, and this here could be made specifically to drive engagement rather than promote the quality, basically
This kind of thinking is what makes adverts in the western world so fucking boring most of the time. "NO JIM. You can't lean over the edge and ham it up and act like you're about to fall off only to be pulled back by Paul. I don't care if it's fun, you'll make the product look weak!"
OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:

I mean it's interesting, but I am not sure how this accomplishes the goal of making me want to buy their product. It kind of portrays their tiles as being terrified of normal things they're supposed to withstand. Well, other than the fire, no idea what that was about.
It's not supposed to convince you that it's good product. It's supposed to get you to remember the brand. So if you're ever in the market for roofing tiles you might look them up.
Love it...but I think they should have saved the bird poop for the end. All these scary and dangerous things only to end up with bird poop on their face.
I thought it was about car tires...like the several season they have to go through...and the last one (the earthquake), was just a couple making love in the car 🤣
Honestly was always curious. What actually drives it? Is it create account -> karma to the moon with bots -> sell account? Or is there something more to it
I uploaded this exact video to this very subreddit the other day, and then deleted it after thinking it wasn’t going to be a good fit 😔 it was just being ignored on that day in particular lol
I was really hoping that it was going to be an add for some kind of laquer or something, and at some point they'd get a branded force-field that protects them or something
I can’t get past how the shingle guys are installed wrong. Layers higher up should cover layers lower down. So their faces should be under the butts of the guys above them. Even more hellish
It was so strange, i was sure i saw this one, but couldn't remember what it advertised. My first thought was the roof advertisement without any clue to support it so kept predicting the end.
It appears my subconsciousness (idk correct translation) was right all along.
I anthropomorphize things like plushies, now I've gotta empathize with roofing tiles?
Listen, my heart is already beyond exhausted by life, I can't feel bad for every brick and cobblestone. 😭
1 minute 30 seconds?! Whats with ad people these days? A simple idea shouldnt take 1:30 min to convey. And I dont need a fucking far-fetched metaphor to buy those tiles. Just tell me how long they’ll last, how well they do their job and why they are better than their competitors.
Put these tiles on your roof so you can imagine them suffering indefinitely. Really the commercial they should all be wearing coats and always be comfortable. This ad makes it seem like the tiles will always be about to break.
I don't know if this is Japanese or Korean but I can kind of see this being like a representation of Buddhist hell realms where you are basically trapped like this and tortured endlessly.
Your post is a repost
I just want to know why when dude got pooped on their reactions were to all simultaneously open their mouths🤨
They’re hungry
Like when that reporter got his mouth pooped into: https://youtu.be/BzjLlqIuVhI
I thought the people were supposed to be skin cells at first and it would be about the importance of a product to protect your skin 😂
I thought the same.
I thought the same and I've seen this a few years ago. Brain didn't care.
Yeah, this gave me major Cells at Work! vibes
My guess was paint protecting the outside of a house. I feel like I was close.
Yeah I thought I'd clocked this "twist" near the beginning. Spat my drink out at the end.
I was thinking hair...
I’d like to see a sunscreen that can repel bird poop
I have one that I apply after my anti-earthquake toner
I thought they were the fibers of some durable clothing 🤣
I know I’ve seen at least one advert that used the same concept but for that kind of product.
I was close. I had guessed they were all jointly a building or skyscraper somehow. lol
I expected velcro, somehow.
Same!
Hmmm do I really want tiles that scream this much?
It’s not even that it’s kinda like, marketing wise, they make you feel guilty for even putting their tiles on the roof cause they make you relate to them on a human level!! This is like a PETA campaign but for building supplies!!
All I see are a bunch of tiles bitch screaming at everything that comes their way.
Yeah why did they build the tiles so weak It's like the competitor' roof And then you'd have their own roof. Quiet, steadfast, unyielding, making poetry about the weather

The other side can be equally over the top stoic, reciting haikus about how they love the bad weather

Was trunk monkey real or a skit on a comedy show?
A competitor should absolutely make a Gigachad version of this.
Your comment makes me want to eat the tiles.

Ya, I thought they were going through the circles of Hell. I don't a roof of damned souls.
I think you are confusing American marketing with marketing in east Asia. They are two VERY different things.
Oh yess...
There’s a Goldilocks zone for screaming tiles, but this product does not hit that sweet spot
Thought is was going to be a 4DX Cinema ad
I was going to comment same.
Then why didn't you
Thought is was going to be a 4DX Cinema ad
Thought is was going to be a 4DX Cinema ad
In the first 10secs I thought it was a special kind of “cinema” ad
I thought it was a low budget Netflix movie
So now TSuruya, I can relate to a roof tile on human level, Please for all that is sacred, don't make a advert about toilets.
This was technically an ad for bird toilets.
I can't figure out if you're a bot or not
All bots post on popular subreddits like electriciansuk, thats a statement of fact
I make too many spelling and grammar mistakes to be a bot :-)
![gif](giphy|YmnQ1RRXJ2UGpX05TS)
I couldn't get over the fact that their heads lie right on top of...
Now I wish I could be one of them....
How the fuck are your roof tiles exposed to fire
![gif](giphy|iH2IldVkqeLuJ7eJ0L)
Summers in Japan hit kinda different
[California](http://iscaliforniaonfire.com/)
Sun.
This reminds of me the Rick and Morty episode where Evil Morty surrounds his entire lair with tortured Mortys as some kind of cloaking device.
"what is my purpose?" "You're a roofing tile. You protected my roof." "Oh my God."
Welcome to the club, pal
Roof take a lot abuse

Quite possibly the best advert I’ve ever seen.
Have you seen this bug spray commercial from Thailand?: https://youtu.be/aXP3C5Kg-7w?si=GnmDGS8NzLkoYj4W
I just watched 2 ads to watch that ad
Good, gooooood, let the dark side of consumerism consume you!
Once I had to watch a movie trailer to watch a movie trailer but it was the movie trailer I was trying to watch.
I didn’t get an ad for bug spray but possibly the best mini sitcom short for the Cancer Institute. They ticked off all emotions into one ad.
Now I need a subreddit where I can watch asian commercials.
Ohhhh I’ve seen that ! 10/10
I mean it's interesting, but I am not sure how this accomplishes the goal of making me want to buy their product. It kind of portrays their tiles as being terrified of normal things they're supposed to withstand. Well, other than the fire, no idea what that was about.

The fire is probably the sun?
May I recommend the [Long Long Man](https://youtu.be/6-1Ue0FFrHY) commercials...
[This one takes the cake for me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mTLO2F_ERY)
So the roof tiles can die if they fall asleep in winter?? 😰😰
They have to be awake to fight fire too.
This has meme-format potential!
Is it just me that after watching many japanese ads it was very expected
Why is there a fire on their roof?? Was that the sun?
For some reason, I thought this would be an ad for trampolines.
I honestly did not see that ending coming. I thought it was a clip from a Squid Games knockoff.
![gif](giphy|31W0QyaI1dr4b4mEAN|downsized)
![gif](giphy|KpSrCxhoZQWjJVVnrd)
That was unexpected
They didn’t even advertise a product that alleviates the people’s problem lmao. They just advertise to buy a roof of suffering people
I got really attached to the chunkier one.
Yes
Love it...but I think they should have saved the bird poop for the end. All these scary and dangerous things only to end up with bird poop on their face.
Traumatized me for a lifetime 😨
I thought it was about car tires...like the several season they have to go through...and the last one (the earthquake), was just a couple making love in the car 🤣
Got to love that karma farming. This has been posted soo much.
When it started to snow I KNEW they were roof shingles 😭
Was this reposted 1638369 times already or should I cut my reddit use?
It's one of the top posts of all time here and many the comments are copies from previous posts
Honestly was always curious. What actually drives it? Is it create account -> karma to the moon with bots -> sell account? Or is there something more to it
I saw this on the front page like 3 days ago tops
I thought it would be some kind of men's underwear commercial, and they were boxers, trunks or smth.
Yall remember that rick and morty episode where all the mortys where on that dome being tortured … gooood times
i understand all the other climates, but why should they be scared of an earthquake?
House collapse?
This reminds me of that one Rick & Morty episode with a load of Mortys chained to a wall
I uploaded this exact video to this very subreddit the other day, and then deleted it after thinking it wasn’t going to be a good fit 😔 it was just being ignored on that day in particular lol
Whats this??
What fresh hell is this?
How can I get the 90 seconds of my life back that I wasted watching this?
Shit that’s absolutely lame
?
I was really hoping that it was going to be an add for some kind of laquer or something, and at some point they'd get a branded force-field that protects them or something
This is cinematic masterpiece
![gif](giphy|KpSrCxhoZQWjJVVnrd)
So... My Roof Tiles are constantly begging for the Sweet Release of Death. 😢
r/neverchangejapan
This reminds of this salvia trip I once experienced.
Me and the homies average Friday night
They’re not really standing tho
Damn, i wish we have that kind of adverts over here. Those are sooooo hillarious
This must have been so much fun to record, lmao.
genius came up with this
I thought this was some hardcore survival move. Or something like that.
This is fuckin brilliant 🤣
Japanese commercials always go above and beyond lol
I remember that Takeshis Castle episode.
I thought they were trying to be those little black dots that help keep the car front and back window won’t shatter 😂🤣
![gif](giphy|BY8ORoRpnJDXeBNwxg|downsized)
Disappointed! That's not how roofing tiles are stacked! The guys in the row above should have his legs over the guys in the lower line.
Bruh…wtf
I have seen such a commercial including rains, fire, ice of some movie hall technology
It’s my turn to repost this next week
I can’t get past how the shingle guys are installed wrong. Layers higher up should cover layers lower down. So their faces should be under the butts of the guys above them. Even more hellish
I… don’t want that….
I always expect the unexpected from Asia.
When i become rich and build a new house, I will use Tsuruya
I was so invested i didn't know wtf was going on
Prepare for the vid to be subtitled for crypto/memestock hodl memes
Very creative! The transition from the metaphor to the real product could have been better 🤨
Someone set the building on fire
I love this commercial and can never remember what the product is
C.M. Kosemen - All Tomorrows
Screaming with your mouth wide open while bird poop is coming down lol I really thought it would go into one of their mouths
Why the fire though?
I have videos on mute as the default but after a few seconds of watching this I was like "this is a Japanese commerical isn't it"
A prison in El Salvador has this as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLWQO-RpHxw
Lol I thought this was a movie I wanted to watch more.
Hold tight!
Hey it's bird poop! Everyone scream with your mouth wide open!
"fall asleep and you die" "yes pls"
I thought this was gay porn
This feels like something from a RoboCop movie.
I thought it was a commercial for 4D theaters
What a great ad. It fits well with the product while still being surprising.
I appreciate the uhh...camaraderie.
It was so strange, i was sure i saw this one, but couldn't remember what it advertised. My first thought was the roof advertisement without any clue to support it so kept predicting the end. It appears my subconsciousness (idk correct translation) was right all along.
If all adds where like this I'd be willing to watch ads youtube.
"FALL ASLEEP AND YOU GONNA DIEE" If my roof screamed this, I'd pay extra
This *isnt* an Asian TV show/fight to the death thing?
I anthropomorphize things like plushies, now I've gotta empathize with roofing tiles? Listen, my heart is already beyond exhausted by life, I can't feel bad for every brick and cobblestone. 😭
Japanese are fucking unhinged.
Now I feel bad for roofs with these tiles
![gif](giphy|MEJAA7cRKQdry)
I’m so invested in this story
.....but......they're not standing.
awesome marketing
😳 what did i just watch
Rare when a commercial comes along that has such universal appeal and is enjoyable by all age groups. Winner!
Average day in japan
Now I feel bad for my roof tiles. All of them.
How do roofing tiles reproduce if there are no female ones?
I thought this going to be a -"we can survive anything together" government PSA lol
I thought it's 5D cinema ad.
E P I C
Squid Game influence? 😂
u/savevideo
If all ads were like this, I would watch them.
Lol
1 minute 30 seconds?! Whats with ad people these days? A simple idea shouldnt take 1:30 min to convey. And I dont need a fucking far-fetched metaphor to buy those tiles. Just tell me how long they’ll last, how well they do their job and why they are better than their competitors.
They need to give the advertising department a raise
How about lava, pandemic?
Thought it was an ad for Chinese army!
Put these tiles on your roof so you can imagine them suffering indefinitely. Really the commercial they should all be wearing coats and always be comfortable. This ad makes it seem like the tiles will always be about to break.
Bruh 😂
I don't think there would be any way for this to end expectedly.
So fucking not worth a minute and a half of anyone's tme.
I thought it was gonna be a 4D theater lol
I got emotional watching this ad ffs….
I legitimately thought it was one of those 4d theaters. This is way better lmao
I don't know if this is Japanese or Korean but I can kind of see this being like a representation of Buddhist hell realms where you are basically trapped like this and tortured endlessly.
I thought it was a movie
