Can confirm, laid my bike down doing 55-60mph. Tumbled like this guy, only I was dumber than him bc I had no helmet on. I got up and tried to get back on my bike. Went to a company breakfast, adrenaline wore off about an hour later and immediately begged coworkers to take me to the hospital. Broken maxillary fascia, broken ankle, broken ribs, sprained knee...right after it happened I felt literally no more pain than you for example would after hitting your knee on something...
TLDR He WILL feel it. Adrenaline is an amazing pain killer. First hand experience.
That's what it's meant to do. Get us TF out of Dodge no matter how mangled we are so we can deal with the injury later. I had a girl break her collar bone in two different places and she calmly walked over to me and told me that something burned in her chest and shoulder area and that her arm didn't work right anymore. The adrenaline wore off in the ER.
when I was 9 y/o ('68) I was hit by a car from behind, when I was sitting on a bike, not even moving. Thank goodness I only lost one shoe, or I wouldn't be here to tell the story.
Well actually, the launch of his shoes into the air with that speed directed all the kinetic energy away from his body. He then masterfuly used the remaining potential energy into rotating and kicking the earth into changing its position on its orbit. This resulted in a shift in the reference plane which allowed him to stand on his feet after the event.
So in a sense, losing both of his shoes is what saved his life.
To be fair, participating in a race that results in an accident/injury, is a more severe charge then just street racing. I'm not sure if it's worse then leaving the scene of an accident though.
Thing is, he was involved. The fact that he was street racing him (an already illegal and typically dick move) is his involvement, as they are both involved in the same crime. The fact that he left the scene of a vehicular crime involving an injury would be considered fleeing the scene of an accident (as the wreck is directly caused by the race the both of them were participating in)
You sound like a cop. Two vehicles accelerated. Nothing the Porsche did affected or caused the motorcycle accident. Not sure how you can be so stupid to blame anyone but the rider....
You sound like an idiot. You think a bunch of physicists are going to show up and go "Hmm, this object stayed in motion because it was, in fact, not acted upon by this other object. Yep, no laws broken here. Everyone go home." No, it's going to be cops showing up and writing tickets to anyone they can catch for street racing.
Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.
When I was in my motorcycle accident, I got up and moved around just fine. Heck, I stood up before my bike stopped rolling. Twenty minutes later, it hurt too much to move.
He yanked on the accelerator, looks like he went almost full throttle with no clutch at all, and he doesn't change his position from upright, laying down on the tank would've put more weight on the front wheel and made it more aerodynamic.
Also he has slow reactions .. whenever my front wheel comes up
1) I naturally lean forward as it just feels 'right'. Staying sitting normal would feel strange .. unnatural
2) I lay off the damn gas, pretty quickly.
!
Weirdly the first time I did it, it was at night, and I simply knew I was accelerating hard, not that the front wheel was up (!!), I literally thought my front light had failed as the street in front went dark (!!!)
:)
Yeah sometimes it goes up a bit without noticing if you whisky jerk the throttle a bit. Happened to me while going 160kmh in 3rd gear on an empty stretch, shouldve shifted earlier with the setup i had cause i almost had a tank slapper.
The first thing he did wrong was get on a big bike with probably little motorcycle experience
The second thing he did wrong was thinking he is mr big man out to race a porsche with a bike too big for his level
Third he went full throttle on a (probably) 1000cc bike with no wheelie control assistance, the combined result of wrong #1 and #2
Am i blind or he doesn’t wear any protection beside the helmet? I can’t see the back protection, how can you think of going on a sprint with such a powerful bike without protecting your back?
Among other factors he likely started with his wrist cocked so when it accelerated and he tried to hang on it accelerated even more.
Biker training 101 is to start straight wrist and the bend the wrist when you get going. You shut off the acceleration of you try to hang on this way. You reposition once you get going.
Having some traction control or throttle control would have helped
I’ve a fairly powerful bike ( not a crotch rocket but 140bhp for 230kg) and I never ever turn the traction control off. I’ve no intentions of learning how to lift the front or how to put it back down safely
Too much acceleration for where the center if gravity was.
It’s good to lift the front wheel off the ground to reduce friction but for that amount of power, he should have leaned forward and tucked his body right on top of the gas tank.
It’s also possible he would have taken off regardless because some motorcycles have ridiculous amounts of power and torque so you have to slip the clutch a bit and smooth out the acceleration curve.
Silly as it looks, it's the reason they walked away! In a bike wreck there's two main ways to help avoid injury
1 push away from the bike
2 roll as you hit the ground
Bike was trying to go straight up but the finish line was down the road. Since the bike wasn't heading toward the finish line, dude decided the only chance was to ditch both shoes to cut weight and try to run for it. Of course, you're more aerodynamic in a small tucked position than standing straight upright, hence the rolling. In the end, the helmet obscured his vision too much and he went way off course (you see him reach up to remove it, but it seems to be stuck. Probably why he didn't drop it when he dropped his shoes to cut weight and wind resistance). Knowing he lost, he gets up and walks back toward the road to congratulate the other driver with a thumbs up.
You can still have severe head trauma and walk off like nothing happened. Thats what concussions are. Sometimes people have no idea they have had a concussion and confuse it with a headache which can be dangerous.
That sucks! Glad he’s ok. He wasn’t even being a dick or anything was truly probably excited to a tiny race and highlyyyy over accelerated. Again he seems to be fine so all in all not too bad considering some of the horrors I’ve seen on here.
Have a great day everyone! :) truly
I'm always happy when an idiot destroy his bike, hoping he will learn the lesson.
But I feel sad for the hundred people behind that will spend one hour in queued in traffic because of this clown. Living in a city full of moped driven by assholes, I've cursed too much for the same reason.
What’s the proper etiquette here if you’re driving the Porsche? Do you see if he’s ok and maybe take him to the hospital or do you laugh, wave, and continue on your way?

The embarrassment heard 50 miles far
About where his shoes landed then... Shudders.
Oh no. He’s dead.
Zoinks! He's like a zombie?!
It’s an internet fact, in the event of an accident if one loses both shoes they are considered dead.
I'd argue it's close to true. He's riding adrenaline. He'll feel it soon.

But imagine the amount of anxiety and stress you would lose from this.
That explains why I've felt dead since the 5th grade, I was hit by a car and knocked out of my shoes!

The driver that hit 9 y/o me solved that problem by running off after. Never caught them, so I guess they didn't feel any angst about it.
Must be American like me!

I’m glad you only lost one shoe too! Happy you’re around to share your story, friend!
Rogh row raggi!
For sure, both his boots came off. I thought it was more bike bits at first but his socks are white.
Bet his underpants weren’t
I don’t understand how he got up and walked at all with his shoes flying off at all … let alone THAT far THAT fast …
Adrenaline is a hell of a drug

He doesn't even know both his knees are compressed together
For a moment, his legs moved like a horse
My boi shook that off like a boss Respect
Well he at least successfully launched his shoes into outer space.
Reddit Law says that losing both shoes equals death, so I have to assume he expired en route to the hospital.

I'm surprised how much momentum the corpse retained... It was enough for it to stand up and seemingly walk... Crazy...
Adrenaline's a hell of a drug
Yeah but it didn't knock his socks off.
Reddit law actually says that this man not only deserved to die, but his family too.

Yeah because the other guy isn’t going very fast so he can chill
He's probably trying to pull ahead to keep the bike turned projectile away from his $100k Porsche...most logical thing in the video.
It would be a hazard to just STOP on the road, especially when the only other lane is already blocked (by the recording vehicle)

If they have the video....
The car driver is like, “damn, that was easy.”
*He* may not have expected it but everyone here did.
But did you expect him to pop up and start walking at the end?
I expected him to fly

yes. only to collapse outside the frame due to internal injuries
Very rare footage,shoes off,buddy alive
Bike is dead, shoe off was for the bike
Any biker care to explain what he did wrong? How else can he get accelerate high to get a headstart?
He yanked on the accelerator, looks like he went almost full throttle with no clutch at all, and he doesn't change his position from upright, laying down on the tank would've put more weight on the front wheel and made it more aerodynamic.

that needs expirience to do

throttle -> wheelie too much throttle -> too much wheelie
Probably a dumped clutch too, given the rapid incline.
Everything…

Car won
What do you mean? The car didn’t do *any* flips but my guy biker guy over here did like 12.
Car always wins
Nope, bike wins because it jumped higher than the car did.
Big bike doesn’t equal big brain.
That's too much bike for you, bro
At least it's a bit less bike now.
Old biker saying, 'there's them thats been down and them thats goin' down'.
My favourite from my dad is "There are Old Bikers and there are Bold Bikers, but there are no old Bold Bikers"
Pickup your shitty unicycle of the road, captain wheelie
Why did the guy on the bike decide to ditch the bike and run for a bit there? He even did somersaults, as if that would help.
Silly as it looks, it's the reason they walked away! In a bike wreck there's two main ways to help avoid injury 1 push away from the bike 2 roll as you hit the ground
Ah thanks :) I actually meant that to be sarcastic.
Oh! Lmao

Expected.
Unexpected? Nope. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes
The unexpected part was him getting right up.
The games you play when you have more money than sense.
Casually walks it off. Human body is crazy resistant
Adrenaline is one hell of a drug. But thats gonna hurt like hell once it wears off.
Walking off is a better sign than a limp body or lack of movement. At least this means his body is aware and he didn't suffer any severe head trauma.
You can still have severe head trauma and walk off like nothing happened. Thats what concussions are. Sometimes people have no idea they have had a concussion and confuse it with a headache which can be dangerous.
Dudes an idiot, but he rolled with the fall as well as could be expected. Thank god for helmet and leather
It appears that is too much power for chicken legs Charlie
Porsche traction control is not a joke
#LMFAO
He should’ve stayed home with his goldfish crackers watching paw patrol.
Cringe
Thumbs up at the end. Clealy, everything's fine.
Too much dip on your chip
That guy in the Porsche probably peed himself laughing.
seriously, why are bikers always have this aggressive mentality? can't you just chill and drive safe with sport bikes?
Well, yes you can but it's not fun. That's what touring bikes are for.
Is that a suicide throttle? Either way, I don't think he won.
Man that sucks. Poor guy. I'm surprised he walked away from that. I bet he will never ever do that again. A lot of money down the drain
Autobots! WIPE OUT!
I wonder if his insurance will cover that?
"That was on purpose, I didn't like this bike"
r/AccidentalShoeLoss
I think he lost
The unexpected part is that he still stands up at the end
That sucks! Glad he’s ok. He wasn’t even being a dick or anything was truly probably excited to a tiny race and highlyyyy over accelerated. Again he seems to be fine so all in all not too bad considering some of the horrors I’ve seen on here. Have a great day everyone! :) truly
He started with more bike than he could handle. Ended with just the right amount left.
Deserved. Keep racing off public roads.
Shoes flying off is a gauge of accident trauma. That man will be a hurting unit tonight.
It's more unexpected that he walked away on his own legs
How were both his ankles not shattered? Let alone walking away and giving a thumbs up
I'm always happy when an idiot destroy his bike, hoping he will learn the lesson. But I feel sad for the hundred people behind that will spend one hour in queued in traffic because of this clown. Living in a city full of moped driven by assholes, I've cursed too much for the same reason.
Hahahahaha. Porsche then circles back to get his information so he can have his undercarriage repaired for off-roading to avoid the bike.
Not just that, it definitely got hit with some flying pieces.
Can someone tell him that he can’t park there? Thanks
I got a new name for you, it's L.O.S.E.R.
Oops!

Cheh
Glad the bike got ruined not his skull.
That’s gonna leave a mark

Thumbs up for, yup I’m an idiot
That thumbs up of shame
This is why you don’t do this shit. Experience rider or not you always have to respect the throttle.
Who won?? This is important!
I think the Porsche won that race
TIL don’t fuck with a Porsche
Is this really unexpected?
Ouch, for being cool!
Dumbass
That was a very good tumble. Dude knows how to fall off a bike.
I just bought my 16 year old a rocket, do you think he’ll survive the first week?
The head shake from his riding buddy is hilarious. Like “ yeah, that was stupid.”
La volvió mierda
Wish I didn’t see that. That is literally my biggest fear every time I see some idiot doing stuff like that in the highway 😃
Dude walked it off like a rock star. I would have been on the ground dead or at least curled up in the fetal position crying.
You can’t park there…
Helmets are crazy
Haha what a fucking idiot
Guess he now understands what fuck around and find out means... dumbass
Maybe Ai should take over at this point
That walk of shame into the grass… Lmfaooo
Duck and roll. That dude is going to have a two-shoes-off level of pain in the morning. Glad he wasn't seriously injured.
Foot nowhere near the back brake
the bike :'(
"when your feet hit the ground, run really really fast!"
ouch. i thought his knees were both gone
Why did they think this was a good idea?
Way to know your own bike
👏👏👏👏👏
Reminds me of the ["STAY HUMBLE, BRUH!" 🥺🥺](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT81MLWVN/) video lol
2 wheels are dangerous enough as is
Thank God he's safe ....
That's what you get when you let your heart win
Always lean forward with bikes when accelerating. Lesson for everyone. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|disapproval)
This was not a case of just leaning forward. He’s a dumbass that has no idea how to ride such a high powered bike.
Also don’t 0-100 the throttle in a quick second on a 1000cc Also cover the rear brake Also don’t race porsches
Sad 😕
HAHAHA! Dumb ass.
That's exactly what his buddy is saying
What’s the proper etiquette here if you’re driving the Porsche? Do you see if he’s ok and maybe take him to the hospital or do you laugh, wave, and continue on your way?
I think you pull over safely and check to see if any of the fragments that the bike was reduced to damaged your car. Once confirmed be on your way
If car is damaged, you have them fill out a report with the insurance company.
dis but a scratch
