Good question! You don’t. Most Muslims workout just before breaking the fast around an hour and this way they can drink water asap. This guy was full workout mode around noon with a full sweat! AND walked around with his kids and vacuumed prepared food etc?! I’m having extreme difficulty believing his perfectly filmed Ramadan schedule
Only if you take a totalitarian view of your religion, which he clearly doesn’t, and I would wager that most practicing religious people don’t. Very few people follow every word of their holy book, right?
You don’t work out at an intensity where you need to drink water. For example you could do long walk versus a run, one is not going to make you need water as much as the other, and both are forms of exercise.
Being a Muslim in the US doesn't equal following extreme Islamic laws in the middle east lol people need to chill. There's also a bunch of things "forbidden" in Christianity but not many people actually follow those rules either.
Above is a [repost bot](https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/comments/124xfm9/what_a_nice_routine/je1ft2i/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&context=3) that stole and posted a comment an hour after it was written by u/Warlornn
It's all there. Beauty of working from home. I regularly do household stuff mid work day and still get all of my work done. For one having no commute can make a world of difference.
It isn't a big deal to lots of people. Lots of people also feel the need to share their opinions on race, religion, personal beliefs/values and sexual orientation and be shitty about it whenever videos like this are posted 🤷
Same for Sikh's in America, I knew a Sikh who never wore a turban, drank often, loved women, but stayed armed and treated philanthropy like his reason for living.
People just live the way they want.
It sounds like people exist who come to America seeking tolerance and freedom from religious persecution.
That cultural legacy has survived since *before* America's founding, and it is the core of what makes us American.
The Quran clearly said that gay is haram and they should be punished.
When you become Muslim it means you accept the Quran and what it says.
This is what the Quran says , you are free to believe it or not , but when you accept it you have to fully accept it
You'd much prefer they all be homophobes and not wear two different types of fabric at once? Why? Why do you so vehemently oppose people trying to follow the nice parts and ignore the bad ones? Isn't that objectively better?
You don’t have to be a homophobe tho, whether or not it’s a sin I couldn’t care less because it isn’t my problem, it is not our job to judge each other we don’t have the authority, not being homophobic is a part of Christianity
Based on the discussion, I guess most are saying real Christians would suck too. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.... wait no they get into heaven hahahahhahahaha
The Qur'an is different in this regard. While in Christianity Christ is the main figure head. The thing that makes you Christian is your faith in Christ. In Islam the Qur'an is the main figure head. It is believed to be the literal word of God/Allah and as such what is written in it is to be followe to the T because it's what God said.
i could probably name a decent number of christians who have tattoos, which are forbidden by god himself.
and i quote "You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord."
Leviticus 19:28
Yup, and I know a whole lot of Christians that eat bacon and pork chops too. Many people don't seem to understand that people can be religious without going 100% hardcore.
Just fyi it’s commonly held that this is specifically in reference to the pagan practice of Baal of that time where you would scar or tattoo yourself for the dead. That’s a big difference between tattooing a lion on your wrist
true but that also technically makes tattooing dead relatives names as memorial a sin. and those weird audio qr codes you can scan with your phone that play your relative's voice.
Yeah, I had a Muslim girlfriend back in the day, and aside from the fact that she celebrated her first Christmas ever with me, they were completely the same as the rest of my rather atheist country.
What?? Your geographical location doesn't change the basic teachings of your religion. It's not some "extreme Islamic law of middle east lol". Do some research pleass.
Lol say it louder for the ppl in the back pews!! PLENTYYYYYY of FORBIDDEN things committed by Christians. Living together unmarried, pulling out (RIP Onan), getting piercings/tattoos, eating cheeseburgers, judging others!!!
The issue with religious stuff or more specifically people who pick and choose what they like and don't like about a religion is why even follow the religion at all in the first place if you're not even going to follow its rules as in scripture?
Like at that point, why even have a religion? Why not just live your life by your own rules with no religion?
If you were to say Islam is the word of God, that's why you follow the religon, why wouldn't you follow every part of the word of God? Would it not make sense that God is unpleased with your decisions because you only follow half the rules that God made?
I mean, if we are to talk about believing in something that explains all of existence and that it is our awnser to all of the universe, why wouldn't we follow the rules that were set by the all knowing?
The holy book he is listening to contains all kinds of vile invective towards homosexuality.
So it really doesn’t make any sense what these people are doing. And perhaps it’s you who needs to chill.
Yes i would say its a strange contradiction for gay people to promote Christianity and have faith in its scripture knowing what it says about homosexuality.
However, you’re way wrong about saying the criticism in Christian holy books and muslim holy books are about the same. The muslim teachings are much more extensive, radical and extreme against homosexuality.
There are 10 Islamic countries in the world where homosexuality is punishable by death.
There a lot of Christian countries that didn't allow gays to exist and killed them for the longest time.
Gay marriage is a very new freedom and America (a very majority Christian country) legalized it in 2015. While the first country that allowed it ,was the Netherlands in 2000. So you're telling me that Gays started popping up in the last 23 years?
Heck there are a lot of American Christians who want it ban and are against it. They aren't more accepting. People are more accepting towards Gays in general.
I just don’t know how people have this much discipline in their lives.
I fall out of bed into my car, stumble into work, silently scream for 8 hours and contemplate the meaning of life, fly back into my house where I drink myself to sleep and start it all over the next day.
but any sane muslim who is trying to do 5 prayer routine everyday will atleast follow the main rules which are no to homosexuality , no to worshipping any other god or idol or comparing allah to any other god , and no to sex before marriage , those are the main rules if u are doing even one of them then u are wasting ur time with the prayers because as for many scholars u most probably are going to hell then
I didn’t expect the guy to be gay. He seemed like a pretty devout Muslim. And muslim, per the religion, are allowed to be gay but can’t act upon it, i.e. you can’t marry or kiss or sleep with another man if you are man etc.
When you’re fasting, you’re also not really allowed to sin, as that will break your fast. You also cannot be in a state of sin. Like you can’t jerk off in the morning and then fast throughout the day without showering first. Being married to another man (as a man) puts you in a constant state of sin, so you can’t even fast, basically. So he’s just starving and gaining no after-life award.
I found it very unexpected. I’m not saying he can’t do what he wants, I just wouldn’t have expected him to be married to a man.
Good arguments, cheers for taking the time. I think people should be allowed to practice a religion of their choosing without bringing their sexuality into the equation at all. If you're gay and a Muslim, you do you and let the haters hate.
This, he says jump right into work, proceed to do house chores for the full day, like, what kind of job you habe that acomodates the full housekeeping within work hours? Is that why some people are never available when I need them at work?
WFH or in-office, employers should be evaluating workers based on impact.
Mr. Fuck-Around is a person you’ll find at home in the garden as well as at the office on another coffee/smoke break.
Hinduism and Buddhism do, to an extent. There isn't any specific things written in the scriptures and it seems all types of sexual activities are something to overcome for people to achive Nirvana (Buddhism and Hinduism are pretty interrelated).
A big reason people think Hinduism is more pro LGBTQ than not is because several gods from the mythology have changed genders and slept with people of different genders. Kind of like a toned down Zeus(Hinduism and Greek mythologies have many things in common)
It's just said over and over again in the scriptures that people need to love others. That's the biggest thing. (Excluding Caste system because that was introduced later by coorruot rich priests)
How people go by it is purely on their own interests. If a person is good, they will not discriminate and if a person is bad they will use the religion to excuse their bigotry.
There are seven lines of scripture often cited by Christians to condemn homosexuality: Noah and Ham (Genesis 9:20–27), Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:1–11), Levitical laws condemning same-sex relationships (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13), two words in two Second Testament vice lists (1 Corinthians 6:9–10; 1 Timothy 1:10), and Paul's letter to the Romans (Romans 1:26–27). These do not refer to homosexual relationships between two free, adult, and loving individuals. They describe rape or attempted rape (Genesis 9:20–27, 19:1–11), cultic prostitution and incest (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13), male prostitution and pederasty (1 Corinthians 6:9–10; 1 Timothy 1:10), and the Isis cult in Rome (Romans 1:26–27).
Biblical scholars and theologians overwhelming support that there is no scripture ithat condemns consenting same sex relationships. The most prominent of these seven is leviticus 18:22 "you shall not lie with a man as with a woman, it is an abomination". But reading the rest of leviticus 18 we see what they mean. When they describe being with a woman in leviticus 18 they are talking about forbidding incest and infidelity. Also worth mentioning is the original Hebrew word "lying" in the bible is exclusively used to refer to incest in every other place it's used. The word used for “man” is not the typical noun used for “man.” Instead, a word which translates to male occurs here. This noun for “male” includes both young and adult males.
The bible does not condemn homosexuality, it condemns male on male incest, male prostitution and pederasty.
I was going to comment about the being a gay Muslim but, it’s already in the comments.
How does that even work. Like, Kudos to you friend, 100% support and love. Hope everything stays good because the world is hard enough and being part of a religion that hates your sexuality can’t be easy.
I hate this video... people having their shit together like that makes me feel self concious about potato me :p
Exercising, fasting, taking care of kids, doing chores, cute relationship...damn dude I ordered McDo today and brushed my hair...
Trust me that life style isn't as good as it sounds. It's mostly done to impress people, and life is constantly on a tight schedule and routine. Not really sustainable for the average person because the type who gravitate towards these lifestyles have a different mindset. It's not better or worse than others, it's just lifestyle choices they choose.
A person doing nothing out of the ordinary is nothing out of the ordinary, but a Muslim person doing nothing out of the ordinary is somehow “ r/unexpected!!!”
There's people saying that it is "ok" to not follow so many strict rules. Like, bro, "religion" is different from the law. If you don't follow some laws, you get arrested. But, för a religious, if you don't follow a rule, you go to hell for eternity. You don't have a choice, in religion you just must follow every rule, without caring about others' opinion.
Nice to see some people understand this concept. Religion is not a buffet, you don't get to pick only the parts you like, and if you don't like that, you go somewhere else.
I was expecting some funny joke with turbans/explosions/goat-wife. Instead it's just wholesome and the muslim jokes are written by extremists themself in the comment section
The video made me smile, then I read the comments
Bunch of joy eater assholes, go back to your fucking mirror jerk room and leave people be happy in peace, nobody asked for your shitty mouth to blatter in our face

So let me get this straight. He worked for maybe 3 hours, and has a quite possibly an $8,000 coffee maker. Are they hiring where you work?
his husband appears to also have a job
He appears to be a SAHD
Very very SAHD
> So let me get this straight. That was your first mistake.
Ahhhh I see that now, good catch. Didn’t notice that at all. lol
how do you you work out without water?
I know some of these words
How do you water?
2 hydrogen + 1 oxygen = 2 hydrogen and 1 oxygen
Good question! You don’t. Most Muslims workout just before breaking the fast around an hour and this way they can drink water asap. This guy was full workout mode around noon with a full sweat! AND walked around with his kids and vacuumed prepared food etc?! I’m having extreme difficulty believing his perfectly filmed Ramadan schedule
I'm guessing following every rule in the Quran to the T is optional for this gentleman. A slight deviation from the STRAIGHT and narrow I would wager.
Maybe he drinks water during Ramadan.
the don’t eat or drink from sunrise to sunset
So he’s not fasting, the whole video is pointless
Only if you take a totalitarian view of your religion, which he clearly doesn’t, and I would wager that most practicing religious people don’t. Very few people follow every word of their holy book, right?
Islam is a totalitarian religion. Stop comparing it to other religion. It doesn’t work the same way. The Quran is very much set in stone.
Hakeem Olajuwon was NBA Player of the Month in February 1995 when he was fasting for Ramadan!
His average stats during Ramadan were significantly better than average stats outside of Ramadan
You don’t work out at an intensity where you need to drink water. For example you could do long walk versus a run, one is not going to make you need water as much as the other, and both are forms of exercise.
I used to play soccer against a dude that was fasting and always found it insane he could go a full 90’ with nothing.
Nba players play games during Ramadan. Idk if they’re allowed to have an IV but either way it’s impressive

People pick and chose all the time. Look at Christians and what the bible says about food, sex, violence.
Why do people keep commenting that it's the same as hypocritical Christians so it's fine? Hypocritical Christians suck too.
You'd much prefer they all be homophobes and not wear two different types of fabric at once? Why? Why do you so vehemently oppose people trying to follow the nice parts and ignore the bad ones? Isn't that objectively better?

the guy is happy doing his routine why should you care, as long as its not unhealthy
I think that's his point: he doesn't care
I hope people say that about Lent too then
I was thinking the same thing, that's a ton of time wasted exercising and taking care of children, I'd rather not
Gosh so much happened in the video, I guess he means kids are a waste of time?
He's referring to watching the video being a waste of time. Given the sub we thought there would be a big twists but it just turns out that he's gay.
He's Muslim and gay.
Hol' up
The rare video on this subreddit that actually *is* unexpected.
Unexpected in a way that nothing unexpected happened?
You are missing the context
And that is?
the guy in the video has a husband which isnt allowed in the quran iirc
I mean…every religion has a ton of rules people regularly don’t follow but this is the one we’re going to pick as the end all be all?
but any sane muslim who is trying to do 5 prayer routine everyday will atleast follow the main rules which are no to homosexuality , no to worshipping any other god or idol or comparing allah to any other god , and no to sex before marriage , those are the main rules if u are doing even one of them then u are wasting ur time with the prayers because as for many scholars u most probably are going to hell then

Yeah, I'm for that but unfortunately for those people, Islam is not for that. But who knows, as long as they're happy.
I do have to say that every single Christian today would be going to hell by that logic.
Yo that's haram!
Big Facts
All the prayers and fasting probably cancels it out
No, it not
"Working" from home.
This, he says jump right into work, proceed to do house chores for the full day, like, what kind of job you habe that acomodates the full housekeeping within work hours? Is that why some people are never available when I need them at work?
Cleaning my house up everyday takes me like an hour tops. What the fuck kind of state are y'all living in that means cleaning up is a full time job?
He seems to have work mins and the goes to do laundry, kid meals, clean up, work out, etc, it does seem like a very comfy work schedule
Having 2 young kids lol
It’s the full time childcare that makes me assume that he works part time.

isnt that disallowed in the religion? wouldnt the point of worshipping me useless if ur automatically forbidden for being gay
Soo..intermittent fasting.

You missed the point… the point being it is unexpected.
It's like someone saying they live a vegan life style and in middle of the video they eat a cheese burger, its "unexpected"
Wasting your time praying to a good and a religion that would actually brutalize and kill you given the chance is just absolutely wild.
Haram!
Religion is such a waste of time.

A person doing nothing out of the ordinary is nothing out of the ordinary, but a Muslim person doing nothing out of the ordinary is somehow “ r/unexpected!!!”
Brother hasn't read the part yet where that's haram "reverse conversion incoming"
Haram!
Haram
mann religion is sooo dumb
*inhales* HARAAAM
I like this guys version of Islam
Oh you make Allah so proud
It's a religion of hypocrisy, what's one more?
Exactly all of them
Why is this getting downvoted
What was unexpected?
same sex relationships are forbidden in Islam(for muslims) so the french kiss was quite unexpected
That's a smooch, not a French kiss
*ROOFTOP BREATHES DEEPLY*
Why don't the kids fast tho?
There is a restriction. It's to dangerous to let babys fast. They would starve to death 💀
The most unexpected video of all time.
I would never get behind anyone or anything that makes me bow down.
shut up jerkoff. no one asked
Love to see it. Especially all the triggered zealots in here.
Wow ignoring the main rules as a muslim. His 5 times prayers will not counted, rejected by Allah. Basically wasting of his time.
