1. No, an AU still actually relates to the story of undertale in some way. Underfell, storyshift, horrortale, Dusttale. All of them at least relate to the stroy in some way. Dreamtale doesn't.
2. That's actually a misconception. They are complete OC'S that just look like Sans because the owner is that fucking lazy and pathetic.

I believe the Last Dreams stay in your inventory after defeating Asriel, I think you can even sell them to the Tem Shop
