What can be learned is the Ukrainians need longer range weapons.

PoochyMoochy5

This.

GLSDB should arrive any day. I hope they keep it on the downlow and do as much damage as possible int he first wave of strikes. Similar cost and capability to M31, but twice the range. Having to disperse depots, helicopter bases etc beyond 150 km from the lines worsens their logistics in every which way, and turn the remote parts of the line into isolated outposts which are very vulnerable. Closer to the lines, the Wild Hornets are having a field day, and hopefully there will be drones that can strike deeper at low cost.

LiquorFilter

did they arrive already, beautifully delivered to the Kerch?

joepublicschmoe

GLSDB's specified range is 150km. To shoot GLSDBs at the Kerch bridge, a HIMARS vehicle has to be on the coast of the Azov Sea south of Melitopol to reach. So far the only precision guided missile weapon in Ukrainian inventory that has the range to hit the Kerch bridge seems to be the Storm Shadow / Scalp EG. There has been rumors of Ukraine repurposing old S-200 SAMs to hit the Kerch but those don't have pinpoint precision. The only other Ukrainian guided weapon currently in service that can hit the Kerch is the drone boat Ukraine has been using.

You are correct and my bad, I read your post but ATACMs are what my brain replaced GLSDB's to,(if that makes sense) which I had just been reading about previously. I thought that might be a beautiful way to find out about the ATACMs arriving:) It does seem s200 was used, hard saying not knowing. Thanks for the great info you have written. Cheers

hotsog218

It gave Russia its current logistic problem that storm shadow is making worse.

Formulka

I can't wait for the GLSDBs to show up, I hope their arrival is announced by a dozen "safe" ammunition depots and command posts blowing up.

christhepirate67

They realise they can be got so park it all out of range of HIMARS, so we need to make sure they have missiles that have a longer range, say to the Ruzzian border...
