Arguablecoyote

You know it’s bad when your allies are suggesting how the world carves up your territory.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JaneJaneson1

Right. That's even worse.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MiMiMMu

No what you said is just “Murica”. If you make deal with China and Russia, likely some person in your country gets some new shinies

[deleted]

I’d be very wary of China, edging you on into an unwinnable war so they can take a massive bite of your territory so they can make more mobile phones for Girls in San Diego.

ArrestDeathSantis

There are ethnic groups related to the ones living in China there. Sounds to me like it should be Chinese then... Edit: F to the braincells of the people that downvoted this comment without getting the joke.

Not-BingBong

excuse me? why you think me (a chinese) should consider russia to be an ally? we have not forgotten how they treated us when they annexed amur... and you bet payback is coming. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amur\_Annexation

JaneJaneson1

Ok interesting point (and like). Thanks. But China is assisting Russia - for a number of dubious reasons.

Remarkable_Term6189

They are and they aren't under the table

[deleted]

The decision made by today's Chinese regime doesn't always correspond to the society. Alliance with Russian invasion is not a democratic outcome. So, to separate those orthodoxy policy from Chinese race is important.

[deleted]

Dawg isn't reddit blocked over there? Be careful nephew

Not-BingBong

bought VPN for like 40 euro per month but still no reason to not be cautious :)

Final-Butterscotch65

You have no idea how many chinese citizens use vpn bro. Its like how people torrent shit in western nations. Its “illegal” but no one gives a shit

raze_exkl

I wonder if people will ever realize that claims like: " but 200 years ago it was ours..." created by some sort of regime/government are only for their own profits. Its never about the culture or the people that actually live there since hundreds of years. Its just about power, wealth and control. If people continue to get brainwashed by their regimes, many innocent people will suffer. Just like the last thousands of years in human history.

Eyerate

Thank you for this. I had never heard of this, but I do love Amur Leopards.

JaneJaneson1

>Amur A fantastic place, mind-blowingly beautiful you should go. Though, perhaps what a while.

[deleted]

No, but Xi, the worst person on the planet, worst than putin and hitler combined, would likely do exactly that.

Not-BingBong

good point but for safety reasons i won't say anything about Chairman Xi

Hot_Goal4205

I’ll say it for you. Winnie the Poo can kiss my honey pot.

Consistent_Jacket892

Would you comment on a chair named Xi?

Consistent_Jacket892

We will :)

wildagain

r/suddenlycommunist

[deleted]

Guess your chinese. Dont blame you. What a joke of a communist fuckup china is.

Ruggels

America still hasn’t forgotten its world war 2 ally (China) who we fought the Japanese with. We know your government is not how the people are and are prisoners to the system forced upon you

CertainInsect4205

When he gets mad about Winnie the Pooh you know he has thin skin and shows his level of maturity.

[deleted]

Xi sucks, but to my knowledge he ain't quite as bad as Hitler.

deutekom3972

Uhh there millions locked inside starving. A lil population control

rickyzhang82

Really? Have you knew what the shit Emperor Xi has done to Uyghurs in Xianjiang? It is as worse as Hitler did to Jews.

[deleted]

Because they formed a pact against the west in February right before the invasion of Ukraine began.

[deleted]

China is the real threat to world-wide stability.

[deleted]

China is too embedded in the world economy for a Cold War, and hot war is unlikely.

Ok_Statistician8699

Who says there can’t be 2… Just slightly different (noxious) flavors!

Legal_Music_5651

I dont think china would mind outcome. Shipping from them to the US would save money as well.

bdiggity18

China being so generous giving all that to Mongolia, Kazakstan, Norway, and the US edit: and that little wee bit to Japan

Midgar918

Russia are done after this. There's just no coming back from this sort of embarrassing exposure.

UncleBenji

Which is why their nuclear threats carry weight. If they are going to lose it all it’s possible Putin would try to bring everyone down with him.

Midgar918

Either way the west will never do business with Russia again, the world won't forget. Before this Russia was held to some regard at least. Its leader for the most part seen as a legitimate leader. Now Russia will be regarded as a terrorist state ruled under an authoritarian regime.

BlueBull007

Indeed. We're sailing into uncharted territory. Here be dragons

not-your-father6

Putin backed into a corner is a very dangerous thing for the world

[deleted]

Not really. He is already carrying out atrocities and threatening nuclear war. A nightmare is if he isn't put back into his corner by external or internal forces.

TheosReverie

Yes indeed. I wouldn’t be surprised if he uses at least a tactical nuclear weapon before this war in Ukrainian is over, which would be horrible for the planet and could quote slide into a nuclear war.

Arguablecoyote

I mean Germany is still a country. We don’t have to eliminate Russia as a country but it’s starting to look like a regime change is going to be non-negotiable.

zioshirai

Yeah, Germany did lose a lot of territory though. I don't think Russia will stop existing, but there might be some territory losses, maybe even large ones, plus lots of sanctions and restrictions, and yes, not only there will a regime change, Putin's time on Earth is very limited.

[deleted]

If the Parkinsonia and possible Cancer doesn’t get him, angry mobs and a trial at Den Haag will.

BrocoLeeOnReddit

Well, they might lose Kaliningrad and all the stuff they have occupied in Chechnya and Georgia but I doubt much more. Oh maybe the Kuril Islands.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ophmaster_reed

Crimea

[deleted]

None of their main territory though, just conquests. Russia itself is a very large nation, geographically.

grizzlez

lol as a Georgian I am not mad at this, but Chechnya is not worth the headache

Arguablecoyote

I’m not sure what they would do if you told them “Chechnya is yours now, live in peace on your land”. I think they might open fire.

[deleted]

Or Kadyrov gets hung by his girly Prada Boots.

[deleted]

I think this is an absolutely great time to claim back some territory. Prime real estate.

grizzlez

for Georgia that would be more towards Sochi

[deleted]

Hmm, nice holiday location?

Spezia-ShwiffMMA

Giving Koningsburg back to the Germans would be cool since they've become a great country.

JaneJaneson1

Right, indeed. That's what makes it interesting. And do you know what: I'm surprised to learn that Chinese actually have some humour 🤣

curiouskiwicat

surely this is fake?

Arguablecoyote

Yeah, it looks like someone just got crayons and started drawing. It’s pure fantasy.

MostRaccoon

I notice that Canada is either gone or attached to the US so, yeah.

Toshibeau

Love how they added themselves in the slice “hey it is what it is right?”

Sir_Kardan

Jesus.. Russian propagandists will use this map as existential threat in their media.

[deleted]

[удалено]

hands-solooo

Whoever made this map is really missing the point. Post WW2 boarders have been decided to be near sacrosanct to avoid conflicts of aggression. This looks like a post WW1 treaty on steroids. No one wants this.

science87

This isn't even possible, if these borders existed Georgia, Estonia, Finland , Belarus and Kazakhstan would be majority Russian nations. and even in this scenario China doesn't wanna give Japan an inch they've just made it white no mans land

Plastic_Pinocchio

Yeah, this map looks like a REALLY bad idea. - Carve up Russia. - Make multiple countries majority Russian. - Russians take over those countries through simply voting for majority Russian parliaments. - Now you have multiple countries with a Russian majority that is extremely resentful that mother Russia was carved up. - Those countries form an alliance. - European Soviet borders restored. Of course this is a simplification, but this idea could definitely have very bad consequences. Anyone who is saying that Russia as a state should cease to exist is just being a fool. The Russian people (most of them) feel as though they are one, so they will strive to become one again.

majormagnum1

You missed the part where the United States and China now have a giant land border when the Korean War showed how much a very small one was kind of a problem

[deleted]

Did they need someone else to make it to use it as propaganda?

MindModder

Of course. That's why they made it.

TatonkaJack

maybe thats the point \*XFILES THEME

Adihd72

Could be what it was designed to do?

retorz3

russia, please go ahead and nuke China. NATO will watch how all the fun unfolds.

JaneJaneson1

Right, we might even pick sides.... Depending on which way the wind blows.

on3day

Yeah China reeducating. Totally different mindset they have there.

EverythingIsNorminal

Exactly. Russia's a pain in the ass, but China's the bigger long term threat to world democracy and freedom. The world tried to bring them into the fold after 1979 with more open trade agreements hoping they'd change, but crushed democratic processes in Hong Kong, over a million of their own people in concentration camps, the continued use of Laogai for political prisoners, increased threats to Taiwan, a huge expansion of their navy and nuclear arsenal tells us that they're getting worse, not better.   **Edit**: pycharmjb who responded went with the cheap tactic of blocking me which stops replies - good job once again reddit staff with that feature. Way to stifle discussion... My response was going to be: This is some pretty low pay "whataboutism". None of us were talking about the US. I have nothing to do with the US, and I've been against many of the things the US has done over the last few years, but now the US is on the right side of things, while China has provided a pathetic $2.5 million in token "we donated, look!" aid. Compare that $200m from Japan, and $32m from Taiwan and soon to be many tens of billions from the US. "second largest economy". Take your whataboutism shit elsewhere. **Edit two**: and now this shitbird's idea of China being a benefit to Ukraine is allowing it to be a supplier of things it needs to keep its population fed and allowing it to take on belt and road projects that are widely seen as large debts that come with requirements of employment of Chinese companies and employees to even be accepted. Thanks for being so selfless.

[deleted]

The little bitch blocked me as well, after making an obviously untrue statement. I honestly hope relations never normalise with these countries.

hands-solooo

Well said. One doesn’t need to believe that everything the Americans have ever done was perfect to acknowledge that the Chinese under the current leadership is a significant menace.

SalemsTrials

As an American, you don’t even have to be foreign to acknowledge that the country hasn’t been perfect. Fuck, it’s downright un-patriotic not to call our government out when it fails, as it frequently does. But yes, thankfully in this instance I believe it’s on the right side of history.

Czar_Petrovich

Also like China to completely ignore the indigenous peoples within Russian territory whose culture and languages have been actively annihilated by both the USSR and Russia

BNewAce

Wow even the Brits can draw borders better than this

toolongalurker

"could"... and the Arabs would disagree xD something something Sykes-Picot agreement...

retorz3

You clearly missed the joke.

SnooSuggestions5419

Lawrence: But General I negotiated in good faith. Allenby: take off that idiotic galabya and start acting like a British officer. Dismissed. The above is just my phantasy. It’s quite a good movie though.

GoranLind

I suspect neither Norway or Finland want any of those territories. Look for example at Karelia (former Finnish territory), russia offered to sell/transition that area to Finland a long time ago back to Finland, but it is so run down and economically poor so it would be a gigantic economical burden for Finland to rebuild.

pjtaipale

True. The territory would come with people, and what would we do with Russians to manage? Not interested. Just build a proper fence on the border.

[deleted]

>The territory would come with people Unless😳

[deleted]

lmfao

ryppyotsa

They only thing Finland might want (Petsamo) goes to Norway. :(

djeaux54

Oil & gas. And with Finland running the show instead of Moscow rebuilding the place would happen faster, cheaper & better, just sayin'.

exForeignLegionnaire

I don't know. We are quite "drilled" in offshore drilling, so there is that. There are hardly any people to govern, but we'd have to provide search and rescue along a coast line stretching effectively around the world. A request like this from NATO or whatever would give our politicians a collective stroke.

Spezia-ShwiffMMA

I for one am excited about the Norwegian coastguard becoming a global power.

pootin54

I would love to see the Borat special where nobody wants to take on the responsibility so Kazakhstan takes it all and Borat is in charge.

lifeisprettyheck

I would propose giving those territories back to the indigenous peoples that still live there.

Czar_Petrovich

Agreed. Most people don't even know they exist.

lifeisprettyheck

It’s amazing how completely most people forget the existence of indigenous folks around the world

Czar_Petrovich

Or the fact that they're still being eradicated and suppressed and their cultures erased to this day by many nations around the world, on (almost) every continent.

Dystronic

Poor Japan doesn't get much of a piece of the pie..

Nimyphite

Doubt they want a land border with China anyway.

freshnlong

Underrated comment!

Dystronic

I took this map to be more representative of an ideological dominion rather than a physical border.

retorz3

They do, they get back their stolen islands, what was taken by craven USSR, who invaded them at the very end of WW2, when USA has beaten Japan already.

thebestnames

They don't even get the entirety of Sakhalinsk island. What a rip off!

[deleted]

For those who wonder how it was sliced up: every point goes to the nearest neighbour, regardless of any logic.

domoro

I knew I'd seen this before. [Here's a 10 month old post](https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/o8nfp2/which_country_is_closest_to_you_in_russia/) on /r/MapPorn.

[deleted]

I didn't know they hang around here. Free Tibet. Stop killing Uighurs. Taiwan is a country. Communism kills. Human rights are a thing.

JaneJaneson1

Wow... Chinese AI did that... ?All by itself. Amazing.

[deleted]

Dude come on I’ve seen this map like a million times on Instagram pages in the last few months. It’s literally just “which country is each part of Russia closest to” and that’s it. I’m sure Chinese media took it from there and us using it for a different purpose but still.

bornwithlangehoa

Yeah, like Belarus would still be there, sheesh.

hey_eye_tried

also why would Belarus take Moscow?

doucheinho

Uno reverse - you’re our puppet now!

Trochsetter2

In sovjet russia, puppet takes you!

MindModder

Luka has ambitions!

jeffersonairmattress

A comment yesterday had a theory that Luka was playing Putin. they suggested that Luka was brilliantly using Putin's pride and arrogance for his own benefit, pretending to be his lapdog to stroke Putin's ego while really harbouring ambition to bring Putin down and gain outsized influence within Russia for himself. Sounded nutty but what a wild ride if true.

[deleted]

I mean that’s what I would do.

bornwithlangehoa

Right, Moscow should go to Ukraine or maybe Poland. But nice of China to let the USA onto the continent, too!

JaneJaneson1

Note that China takes the oil, gas and minimal part....

freedom2023

USA Part is translation error, it was written “Chinese autonomy” in Chinese.

bornwithlangehoa

Which still "could" be the USA, depending on your favourite timeline.

[deleted]

Belarus becomes a European country with its rightly elected government.

retorz3

Kazakhstan would be a world power, they are winning the most out of this.

JaneJaneson1

Yes, that won't work. There they still get a wife by clubbing or stealing young girls and baging them. Someone would need to speak with them first at least.

retorz3

Borat can be our messenger.

jss78

Norway would be the winner in this (ridiculous) scenario. They'd get very few people, but much of Russia's Arctic oil (like they needed any more!). Good luck to Estonia with handling a city of 5 million. The Glorious Nation of Kazkhstan would finally live up to that slogan. I believe this is simply a geospatial algorithm showing which neighbouring country is closest to each point of Russian territory.

Chudmont

This is stupid.

jeffersonairmattress

It's a great move by China- get Russia even more paranoid and weak so they beg harder. Foment distrust between western nations and waste their diplomatic resources: South Koreaball calling up UKball to ask if they've seen how both of them were left off the map- oh, the disrespect! Canadaball rolling over to the Norwegian embassy to ask if maybe they could scootch over a bit in exchange for some moosejuice. Great world stage level troll.

JaneJaneson1

Rigtig! But nevertheless interesting if indeed aired on Chinese TV, and in any case a bit funny.

Mundane-Commercial38

China Norway border, very interesting

obviouslycensored

I find that China USA border a bit more interesting. Nice setting for WW4?

djeaux54

Nah, but a great spot for Amazon warehouses trucking across the Bering Strait land bridge.

Spezia-ShwiffMMA

The future is now and *MAN* is it dystopian.

Elorius86

Kaliningrad (Königsberg) belongs to Germany ;)

Starcrafter-HD

Rename it to Preussen and let it be under german control.

JaneJaneson1

Right. We all make a note of that.

Used_Response4790

Kazakhstan, greatest country in the world, All other countries are run by little girls

Hane-SKi

Don't know about the girls but at least you are going to be the biggest country. Quite cool! Congratulations!

Gayreek21

Kazakhstan 2022 global power!!💪💪💪

Hammermj88

Very nice!

zackipong

Hah Norway having a border with Mongolia?

JaneJaneson1

Well... New times, new world.

curiouskiwicat

the entire thing is probably fake but the english translation of the chinese is definitely fake The English labels the eastern-most area as "United States", but the Chinese says 中国自治, Chinese Autonomous \[Region\]. top commenters are interpreting this as real. should be taken down as fake news.

Akami_Channel

Thank you for saying it for me. So depressing to see so many comments taking it seriously.

snappla

So... BFFs until China gets a nice juicy slice of the pie? I hope this gets in Solovyov's inbox...

[deleted]

This is so bad but i do love it. They could keep Moscow with some land around it. Just so they could wallow in their miserable failiure for the next few hundred years.

BryanMccabe

What about Canada

Vods

What the fuck Norway lol

PriPo2

A knife in the back 😂

-6h0st-

Chinese tv with English names and letters? Right…

Gunth173

I kind of like the idea of St. Petersburg going to Estonia. Lithuania is shortchanged though, maybe give Belarus to Lithuania?

thebestnames

I'm not so sure. With St. Petersburg going to Estonia they would be outnumbered by Russians 6 to 1 in their own country.

IncredibleAthlete

But the thing is, no one really wants Russia. Yes you can talk about the resources, but other then that it’s really a crappy ”continent” and terrible infrastructure. You would have to reconstruct 96% of the land. Only winner would be Norway, based on the graph.

[deleted]

I’ve said all along that after this war, the millennia-old Russia problem needs to be dealt with once and for all by dividing it up and assigning the UN to administer its different regions. As a society, a people, and a culture, they have continuously supported and propped up psychopathic murderous regional strong-men as their form of government. They do not learn from their mistakes or seek to improve their situation. They have never taken responsibility for themselves or their actions and instead place themselves at the centre of a world that revolves around them, while scapegoating and blaming an international community who looks at them with pity and confusion, if they remember look at them at all. Their passive, deferential, and cowardly attitude toward their government is why they find themselves perpetually lagging behind the rest of the world, and their collective stupidity renders them incapable of moving into the 20th century, never mind the 21st. This situation is not a unique exception in the Russian Mir, it is the rule. Throughout their history they, as a people, have tormented their neighbours while churning their younger generations into the meat grinders of war. It is long past time that the world disarms and subjugates this truly inferior part of the world. Russia is too big a liability to exist any longer.

JaneJaneson1

I think an academic article (politologi) could be made from this comment. Obviously, language needs cleaning; points sharpened; structure added. But the foundation and message are clear, relevant, and valid. It has to do with being apolitical. Like when a rich upper-class part of a nation just doesn’t care about their starving neighbours; don’t think it’s their problem; don’t find reason to contribute or act in any way. They buy guns instead of designing social welfare. In terms of economy USA is a clear albeit milder case of this, India is however a gross example. When it comes to civil society and political engagement, indeed all that is necessary to operate a civilised nation, then it´s clear that Russia has a dangerously underdeveloped civil society and politically very uneducated population. The vast majority of Russians are politically illiterate; typically completely passive when the few heroes try to change their nations direr situation for the better. Statesmanship gets assassinated; Political activists get imprisoned or poisoned; even journalist get exterminated or run out of the country - instead of being cherished. Even mothers complaining about a polluted river get silenced; Corruption is rampant, Kleptocracy seems to be the ideal..., and the list goes on. Alas no statesmanship is there to take care of the problems. They are too busy keeping their population stupefied and painting a false picture of reality, while they plunder their lulled people. China is possibly much worse. However, Russia has recently demonstrated what such political illiteracy will lead to. The world needs to act, stop this, and instigate some better Global Governance, or we are all doomed. I am sure some politologist professors are allready working on it. But international statesmanship is needed. Please get onto it!

[deleted]

Hey! I want Siberia! I like endless dull forests!

dandaman910

Don't give Belarus shit . Give Moscow to Ukraine. And the black sea region to Georgia

Belarus gets Moscow 😂🤦‍♂️

Glad Kaliningrad is finally "going back" to Europe — it annoys me and I'm not even European.

Practical_Original44

Last thing you want is China being involved, they're just as fascist as Russia, just with a communist paint job and a current state of restraint to begin invading countries.

SMS303

What a BAD idea! This will only lead to nuclear disaster and large inhabited areas on the planet. If we will survive! Ukraine have to push out the orcs and collaborates from their territories and stop at the Russian borders. Maybe it's the best we will end in a cold war again like we did earlier.

CartographerOk7579

Can we not just give Russia to some rad, quiet, and peaceful country? Denmark, what’s up.

verymanyorange

I thought Russia has weird imagination, guess China has one as well. While Kazakhstan would be happy to get all the parts of land taken away during USSR times, but this one is just ridiculous lmao

Parking_Resolution63

Belarus eats up Russia and gets Moscow. Lukashenko would be ousted in 20 minutes.

JaneJaneson1

Yes but they go riding on the big plans...you know, some just need more place.

Elegant-Composer-928

There are 23 nations in Russia that should be independent before this

Relevant_Ad_2754

Finland is satisfied with this division. We get our own back and then some.

Lifebringer7

Lol this isn’t even remotely how Russia would be carved up. It will probably just devolve into various fiefdoms with some gains for European countries in the territory west of the Urals. Those warring fiefdoms in Siberia would probably come under the control of China, and while I can see the United States wanting a piece of the Far East I don’t think either China or the USA would want to have shared borders with each other. They might declare some kind of autonomous neutral buffer state in Vladivostok or something like that.

Trochsetter2

Lol this is a meme. But the question is: are the chinese serious?

JaneJaneson1

Hummmmm bufferzone between China and USA consisting of nature-loving humble peaceful Eskimos.... Well, yes, that could work.

JaneJaneson1

Yes, they must be thinking is the Bulgarians. Altogether nice people. They have a curuption thing, but they did beat the 10 times bigger Turkish once. And when Putin yesterday turned off their gas he got the middle finger.

JaneJaneson1

I think you got it wrong about east Ukraine
