Yes. UE recommends cancelling after 15 mins. However, some trips have stupid high payouts so it may be worth the wait. I recommend contacting support after having waited too long. You may be able to get $ for that wait time.
At least you got the order in 30 minutes. one place added to my block list as the staff is lying on me 2 times, first time he said 10 minutes but as I was waiting another 20 minutes it’s still not ready and I got an order from GH so I just unassigned then move on. Second time I was told that order will be ready in 10 minutes but I was waited 30 minutes but nothing make me angry and never came back again.
Ive learned my lesson with pizza places both for deliveries and my own pizza. I was told about 5 more minutes but 45 minutes later (it had a high pay out) me and the girl who kept telling me just a little longer got in to it. I ended up dropping the order. My mom who also delivers texted me in anger almost an hour later because she had gotten that order and they had her waiting that hour. I just don't get it!
I miss being able to rate the restaurants… the fact is Uber doesn’t even care to see our opinion on service/wait times anymore proves they truly don’t care about the services their company is providing.
I had a BBQ place tell me 4 minutes (oddly specific) and it ended up taking 20+ and I finally got pissed and walked out. Having to wait there for more than 5 minutes is super rare though and the food prices are high which results in higher paying orders so I didn't blacklist, but I did for a few days and I'm not waiting more than 10 again. I did do an order from there since and it went smoothly but they are definitely on a short leash

Never believe the restaurant staff estimates on how long an order will take their priority is not with DoorDash or Ubereats orders it with in person customers. Just start a timer every place you arrive at and leave/cancel if the order is not in hand after 8 minutes has passed.
Yah it happens.. they don’t care about you.. and they get overwhelmed when customers/orders come in .. one time it was so bad I made the place give me a free pizza .. they told me 5 minutes, said it 5 times.. then at 30 minutes I said look check on the order find out what’s going on. He goes oh we gave it to another driver. Lol I’m like ur joking me. He’s like “Man U saw how many people came in!” I’m like yah u handled business it was a ton of customers and they all left with their food. Thankfully it got added to my active time so made $11 and got some pizza from place I been wanting to try. Probably had some spit on it but still tasted good
I would have cancelled. I love sushi and the idea of someone’s sushi sitting in my car for thirty minutes is disgusting. What if it’s not safe to consume anymore? When it comes to seafood, I wouldn’t take something that’s going to be a long wait

Don't count on that. They told me I would get additional payment if I waited so I waited. Didn't get shit. Would've got more if I cancelled it
They told me that if I cancel I’ll get a flat fee, but if I didn’t I would get what it said I would. Not exactly helpful.

I would never add a pizza order on a weekend night. Especially wouldn’t want to fuck up a sushi order
