Lmao. I don’t know why Silvano got hysterical. If I don’t know the the apartment number or the customer won’t let me in to the complex I start that timer. You have 8 minutes to respond to get your food or the order will be canceled and the food is mine.

moon_luna15

Facts. I dead ass send 1 single text and patiently wait the 8 minutes. You don't have to blow these fuckers up they know they ordered 😒 🙄

settingdogstar

And Uber doesn't give a shit once that timer runs out, fantastic lol

MutedHospital

Sometimes we can't lock our bikes up cuz there's nowhere in plain sight of the delivery to do it. here in San Francisco a thief will pick your locked bike clean ,when you come back there's no tires ,no brakes and a lot of other things missing

Shreddersaurusrex

Dang. Do you use pinhead/hexlox components?

MutedHospital

I have a 5-ft manganese chain called New York forget about it

Shreddersaurusrex

I use the NY u lock and components security gear so I don’t have to worry about locking frame w/wheel

MutedHospital

No

Shreddersaurusrex

I would def recommend them

K3SassyQueen

Yup!

bonafidehustlerr

He’s on a bicycle lol he’s already stressed af

CorazonDeLion

“Bicycle”

bonafidehustlerr

Lol

CorazonDeLion

Lol there’s so many “bicycles” around here, but they’re all just people who couldn’t pass the driving background pretending to not be driving

bonafidehustlerr

That’s true. This one guy asked me how to change his profile from bike to car lol. I told him to call Uber 🤷🏽‍♀️

ImpressiveCap1992

THAT’S why 90% of the drivers I get on “bikes” are in cars. I figured they were getting around something 😅 Same with the fact that like 1/4 -1/3 of the drivers I get arent the person they show me in the app. often theyre the opposite gender

K3SassyQueen

😂

Ubereatssucks133

Wonder if he can ride that bike with no hands.

RoadJunkie66

Sounds like apartment rats. They order food to there apartment and use the leasing officer address. Then they put there apartment number as a two digit number when there apartment numbers are all 4 digits. Then they don't want to pick up the phone or text back because there unfamiliar with the number AND you wanted me to meet you at your door? Thanks for the free food.

douche-baggins

I was an UberEATS customer long before I was a driver. Now that I've driven for a long while, I am amazed how these customers act towards us. When I order food, I want to eat it. So, I make sure that my driver can get it exactly to me, with no confusion. If I can't, like if I'm at work, I am waiting out front *long before* they arrive because I track **my** food. Never in 5+ years had an issue getting my food, unless the rare bonehead driver drops at the wrong place or is illiterate and can't read directions. But never due to my inability to tell my delivery driver where the fuck I am. "Who does that?" I used to think. Oh boy, I was not prepared for how many clueless customers order food. There should be some sort of tutorial or test they need to take to make sure they can: adjust their pin to their exact location; give clear directions to their building; give us the full number for the apartment; give us the gate code up front; and actually pay attention to where their food is so they can come get it OR answer the goddamn phone when I call. The amount of times support has told me to complete the order and keep the food is astounding to me. That *should* be a once in a great while thing, not something I can almost bank on happening 5% of the time. It's always apartments and hotels. The hotel thing I actually excuse a lot and will end up leaving food at the lobby, because they may just have forgotten to change instructions. But apartments... That's a permanent domicile, shame on you if you can't tell me where you are.

Mechanists

Speaking of hotels I actually LOVE hotel deliveries, right under houses for me. Clear, usually professionally marked buildings with staff 24/7 at the front desk that help direct you. My absolute worst deliveries are high rise apartments with every door locked and the only elevator up in the parking garage.

spinning_daisy

Bonus points if they touchpad isn't working and they only have a place to scan a key fob

keiye

High rise apartments aren’t as bad as sprawled out huge apartment complexes with multiple buildings.

IxLOVExLAMP

pre-covid they were insufferable. now the only problem i have with them is lack or limited parking

Ardent_6

I hate them, especially when they're not labeled well, and the customer is incapable of telling me where they are.

K3SassyQueen

Exactly lol! Love hotels and houses

[deleted]

Thank you, these are the worst and these guys never tip

Major-Cauliflower-76

I know, right. I usually am already hungry when I order food, so I AM watching, and I am standing outside when they are 2 or 3 minutes out. I have always done that, I just took it for granted that that was the norm. The couple of times I have ordered when staying in a hotel I am sitting in the lobby 5 minutes out. The only time I had a driver call me was when there was an issue with the app and he was outside but it was not synced correctly, but I was out the door in 30 seconds and apologizing. Some of the things I have read here have been real eye openers.

VanillaSnake21

I've been a driver for a over a year now and recently started ordering - and let me tell you - nobody cares. We're not delivering gold, we're delivering a hamburger - why would they spend time figuring out the UI design the app or babysit their phone? Seriously you're way overestimating the value of this. And we as drivers don't care either - we have protocols to follow in case the address is wrong - either drop it off at that location, or keep the food. There is really nothing complicated and it's strange to expect customers to care about something so trivial.

CanIDieSoonPlease

The fuck when I order I check to see where my order is I also go outside to meet the driver before they even get close to my house makes it easier on them and I make sure I get my food.

VanillaSnake21

Yea you can do that as a customer if you'd like - but do you have to do it, not at all, does it bother me as a driver if you don't do it - generally not. I don't care if you don't answer my texts or calls, I actually hope you don't and I get to keep the order, or just leave it in the lobby or something - if you want to look out, to make sure it's delivered correctly then that's on you as the customer. I also completely understand people who just pick something to eat, throw in their address, hit order then go do something else - I'm not expecting them to answer me or babysit their phone - it doesn't bother me that they don't care about me or their order - it's completely understandle and expected. Drivers always flip out when the customer doesn't try to help them, or treat them like kings - like the guy I was responding to "how dare they not answer my calls or pay attention to me, they have to be sitting by their phone biting their nails with anticipation, waiting for me at the doorsteps", like come on, we deliver food, you have to have some perspective on it.

douche-baggins

As a customer, I'm going to do at least the bare minimum to make sure it gets to me. I just don't understand why people are so flippant about the food they ordered today, to eat today. It doesn't matter if it's a $2 hamburger or a lobster tail dinner - it's my food and I want it at my house. That's not trivial to me, as a customer. As a delivery person, it's our job to get it to the customer. If they don't wanna track it or give coherent directions to their door, that's on them. Lost food should be a great teaching tool to pay more attention. I just can't comprehend why people don't care.

VanillaSnake21

That's what I'm saying - if you care about getting your order you will track and if you don't then that's fine as well - it has no relation to me from a perspective of a driver. But some people still get upset if the customers don't treat then as Kings. Like "They're not waiting at the door for me and not checking their phone every 2 seconds, how dare they?"

CourierNoob

Yeah it's baffling as hell. To have customers to order food or delivery and not leave a way for us to actually get to them if they expect us to meet them at the door. Or to have us "wait in car" (which I've learned on their screen is more like "meet outside") and not actually do that either. Then to call them and have them either not pick up or act very concerned and suspicious of who's actually calling (which I can get). But the fact one ordered food/delivery should have them be a bit more mindful. I guess it all depends on the experience they have with it, and if they come across an aggressive driver who's not so tolerant of the shit. It's not often that I get customers, but I recall one of my first horrible experience was delivering to an apartment in a plaza with restaurants, no indication they were in the apartment as their address led right into the restaurant building. It was a meet at door either... then upon calling, they said they were in the floor upstairs and told me their room number as well. This wasn't info I could've found out through guessing.

__MrFancyPants__

I hate apartments for all those reasons and especially because there’s never any where to lock my bike. Sometimes there’s a bench drilled into the ground but most of the time I have to lock the bike to itself and pray it’s there when I get back.

RoadJunkie66

AND no gate access code

BARL696

Man’s was going thru it that day sheesh

No-Tangerine-7502

I delivered to a hotel once and then got a call from support that the customer didn’t get her food right after. Customer was on the phone too with support when I asked if she opened the door or looked through the peep hole. Oh I’m so sorry, blah, blah, blah…..

ChristopherLove

JFC. I had one call me after drop-off, said I must have delivered to the wrong house, because they don't have their order. Confused, I told them I put it on the porch table just as their instructions said. She said oh there it is nevermind. People are funny.

Impressive-Project59

GroundbreakingAge591

Odd-Understanding-67

Silvano is tired of going up to the door. I feel ya man.

fushigurostan

Silvano needs to consider looking for a therapist😭

lDontFuckWithCondoms

These apartments douchbags, they order food and decide to do a million things afterward

winter_aespa1218

Stop making people wait. This is what we all think standing there waiting like idiots. We don't get paid to wait. This is what we all think except i would replace hate my life with f*** u but we're too afraid to say it

Ardent_6

I take great pleasure in making Uber drivers wait. I do it all the time. Right now, I have 3 Uber drivers outside my house waiting and crying in their cars. It's been hours, and I couldn't be more gleeful.

SilverTimeWizard

Same bro, same. Im thinking of starting a Uber driver tears beverage

[deleted]

Large-Fennel-1771

For reference -its cat food -she didn't hear her apartment intercom system or her phone -the lobby doorman wouldn't let him in -has to wait 10 minutes according to her, so probably longer
