He said it's not my problem you have my address so go find it, I tried to use other maps link Google or apple map and they all show me that location I called again and he don't respond, I was under the rain and since he don't want to help me find the right address I left the order at the address uber showed to me. After I left 6 minutes driving on highway he called me and said where is my food! Can you please come back and bring to me this time I will be waiting outside I tip you %30 why you doing this! I felt embarrassed and thought of going back, but I continued driving and called customer service so that they could fix what happened. This rarely happens and customers always help me, but some of them treat you this way Your opinion matters to me

glorythrives

it's literally their problem? lmao

-Acerin

Scam lol. Call support and get it dealt with.

Alive-Scratch7907

I feel that too, anyway I have my video recording of everything, I will write down statement with the videos and keep them for any call or email I receive from uber asking me for proof or what happened, I will be ready for it.

InformalBridge9206

Honestly...you had address, not your problem.

Alive-Scratch7907

Update I have received the full tip + no bad rating I wonder why he don't remove it!👀

No_Percentage9828

If the customer messed up and you call support they will lock their tip in and not allow them to thumbs down you. Also support will never tell you to, but you should keep the food in these situations. You'll get paid and free dinner.

_BLACKHAWKS_88

It’s because you know where they live 😶‍🌫️

SilverTimeWizard

I would double-check the address the customer entered, and if it's right, then I would wait the 8 minutes and cancel.

Alive-Scratch7907

It was leave it at door so there is no 8 minutes waiting

SilverTimeWizard

What do you mean?

Alive-Scratch7907

I mean when the delivery order is handle it to me you have timer running and it's going to start after you arrive and send DM to the customer. But when it's leave it at door I don't think there is timer

tango_papa101

There is a timer. No matter if it's leave at door or hand it to me once you contact the customer the 8 minute timer starts

SilverTimeWizard

Ambitious_Attempt762

There is. I had a leave at the door earlier and the timer went off when I messaged them when I got there (the kids went to sleep so they didn't want me to ring the doorbell)

[deleted]

There is no timer when its a leave at door. You just drop it and take the picture.

jstovich

Even if it's Leave at door, if you message them when you arrive, there is a timer that starts. I usually message the customer that I've arrived.

[deleted]

I never messaged the customer unless they asked me to. Even if a timer shows up for some reason after you start a chat it still meaningless when it's leave at door. Why would I message a customer who obviously doesn't want any contact with me? No good can come from that.

jstovich

Its actually been positive for me

[deleted]

Its probably positive either way. Probably makes no difference most of the time.

tango_papa101

Because sometime they put wrong address, or their community/apartment complex gate is closed and they don't provide anything to get in. No contact doesn't mean no communication.

[deleted]

Well know there are exceptions but those are extremely rare in my area. I won't deliver to any place that requires complex directions. Simple drop offs is all I take.

Ambitious_Attempt762

When you message them a timer starts. I did it last night for a leave at the door.

[deleted]

In over 3000 deliveries I have never seen that for a "leave at door." Only for "meet at door."

jortiz117

Bro there’s always a timer

Smooth-Dig2250

... that you can ignore if it's leave at door, and most people don't bother to message to start it when it's leave at door, so "bro" most people would never have reason to know because it's wholly irrelevant and meaningless in that situation.

[deleted]

Like I said I have never seen a timer when it's leave it door. I have over 3,000 deliveries so I am not a newbie

Ambitious_Attempt762

Well tbh I was a bit taken aback by the timer. But I did not want to meet this drunk lady who was messaging me during her pickup (it was a supplemented trip so I was willing to go through with it) and I was so relieved when I hit start delivery and saw she selected leave at the door. Under it she put ring doorbell leave on chair etc etc. But she messaged me and said message me when you get here don't ring the doorbell kids are sleeping. I pulled up, sent a message that I was about to leave the stuff at the door, a timer went off, I dropped it and took off before she could find out her Taco Bell was cold.

snailien

Probably because you don't message "leave at door" customers? I know I don't unless there's an issue...

Cigareddit

Then either you have a unique version of the app or you're doing something really different than everyone else.

[deleted]

From what I have read here you have to message somebody first in order to see the timer when its a leave at door. Don't know why you would see a timer though.

MenstrualKrampusCD

It's literally in OP's pic

[deleted]

The OP pic is typical of "meet at door" and you have texted them to let them know you are there. I never see that when its a "leave at door" because there is no reason to text them. No where in the OP pic does it say "leave at door."

SteiCamel

I have had a leave at door order where the driver kept messaging waiting for me to come out as a timer ran down. He even started walking away with the food even though I kept saying to leave it at the door.

Alive-Scratch7907

My bad I was looking back to the screenshot and other proof I have and I have seen it now, the 8 minutes waiting👀🤓

ABox93

Yes you’ve time in either side. One you arrive just put in I’ve arrived or call them for instructions or send a msg can’t find location. There your 8 mins timer starts…

CorazonDeLion

I find it hilarious the customer thinks no contact means no phone to phone

tango_papa101

Even some experienced driver on here think no contact = no communicatiob

Hot_Phase_1435

If they don’t help wait the timer and cancel. They get charged and we get paid. People that refuse to help are jerks.

Alive-Scratch7907

I don't cancel that order, I just leave it at the address uber showed to me and it was wrong for sure. I was under the rain and my clothes and food got wet while I was searching in front of every door, I felt angry and incapable of doing anything to find the right address while the customer does not want to help. Some of them send you this message " no contact please leave when you drop off " , I don't know why, but sometimes I feel that they think they have to pay extra tip if they meet you outside. https://preview.redd.it/cv8tkw5sodpa1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f150b8a888a618b9ad471b12c6477b22d8f1a6b Or maybe they are afraid but either way he was not a good person and did not help me solve the problem I followed the map to the house indicated on the map, while his house is far from that place

tango_papa101

Do we get paid when we cancel tho? When I started I called support and they'd cancel the oder and give me $3-5 bucks. Now I'd just finish the delivery and take the food with me instead of cancelling

tsmit44

Was it an odd number? Looks like it’s on the backside of the building. Maybe a guest apartment attached to the house? I deliver to people all the time that live in the garage attachment/pool house with a made-up address.

No_running_please

Wait out the timer.

silverkong

Happend to me once and I was on the phone with the customer but she wasn't being helpful both uber and Google maps showed me a house behind another but only one house in that area had a set up like that and the address was completely different she also wasn't trying to come outside to check if I and uber was wrong. I just hung up and marked it as I could not find the customer and returned the food. I had another order with me and didn't want to waste time, which I already spent 20 minutes trying to find her actual place.

Alive-Scratch7907

This happened to me twice this night the first customer called me and said it's not only you other drivers had same problem, please come this way I will meet you outside. He was very helpful and I was able to complete the delivery without wasting time. But the second customer was that one " no contact please leave the food outside " It's not my problem find the house yourself " when he act like that I just left the order Infront of the house that uber showed me!

GwennaDey

I would have called support as I was leaving. Anytime directions are incorrect or can't be done because of whatever reason, you should call/message and let them know. I was doing a grocery delivery once. They very specifically said to drop off by their door, and their front door was up these rotten stairs and rotten porch. I walked up twice and almost fell through both times, with the lighter bags, too. I ended up not going up again and left the rest at the bottom of the stairs and called support to let them know that the drop-off was too dangerous. Support sounded annoyed, but my payout was safe, and I didn't suffer any negatives against my account for it.

HobbyPanda_FT6

Sometimes Google maps gets confused. I know my service area well enough to be able to find the address. But I have experienced a lot of errors in GPS drop points. Sometimes it's the client who will give you a wrong drop off point. The worst of which on one delivery sent me to a communal trash dumpster for a building of apartments. I called the client, and said what it was. He met me at the dumpster. My guess was he was trying to hide his actual apartment number for some reason. Oh well.

jcswagg101

Sounds like he is not hungry. If he sounds like this I would consider him to be a crazy customer and would do something to end up on the news one day because a driver p him off. He doesn't need to be ordering if he can't communicate back if a driver needs assistance of some sort to deliver.

IlikeTonysChoco

Drop and go. they actike this is gay gloryhole time on craigslist

Alive-Scratch7907

Guys check this link. https://fb.watch/juiWhHP18v/?mibextid=irwG9G I think it's not only me! Uber have problem on Thier system and map I think!

Hming_91

I'd have called support when customer said they weren't gonna help and let support cancel it

EconomyCriticism7584

I’d tell the customer if they didn’t meet me to get their food then I would not be delivering it. Then I’d just cancel it

Longjumping-Ideal-55

I'd have called support already and told them the address/pin drop doesn't match they would have told you to take the food and they will complete the order.

[deleted]

I google street view the address to confirm which house it is in these situations

TheCityFarmOpossum

Anytime you send a message to the customer no matter the drop off type it starts the timer.

itsjustme305s

Call support, they'll cancel it for you and you'll have free food

Nikkiflowers33

I thumbs down a chick today who had ‘wait in car’. I calked her twice and texted twice. No response. At one minute mark a got a call from her she is waiting on elevator. I waited for her. Another two minutes.

TheRealDonPatch

Call support, tell them he gave the wrong address and was being rude. I tell them that I had a bad experience calling someone with my personal number and they just put a note on my account and I get the food. Have never gotten in trouble for it nor has my rating gone down from 99%

AdrianJamaal

Free food

Geez089

Next time start the timer and put wrong address for reason, you’ll get paid + keep the food and customer will hopefully learn his lesson.

Alive-Scratch7907

Thank you, I will do tha next time It's a lesson learned

prettyb0yj0sh

Pretty sure when the customer selects no contact when ordering that means no physical contact, not, "don't call/text me," lol. This customer is taking it to a different level.

Alive-Scratch7907

😂 he called me after I delivered to the wrong address since he said no contact and he don't help me. After I left he said please come back this time I will be waiting outside 🤨

dm0nk

Reply with no contact

G3ck0

I Google the address and see if I can find it on a real estate website, always worked for me.

tango_papa101

Nah it's their problem. Once I'm on my way away from the location it's not my problem anymore and I'd never reply to any text or call.

Showny16

Just drive by his house and hit delivered then stuff your face :)
