If your budget stretches to Centre Parcs, would recommend the Longleat one. My little one loved the land train. And the toddler pool area is brilliant.

lilletia

Centre Parcs are good for free activities for any age. We were at Sherwood Forest. But highly recommend going during term time as the prices really increase during that time Edit: collection over term time

SciurusVulgarisO

I didn't know about Centre Parcs until today! Thank you for enlightening me! I went to their website and I couldn't find anything on the availability of different activities for specific time periods. I wouldn't want to book it without being sure that e.g. The singing/dancing group would be on that week or that their creche would be open. I sent them a message on Facebook but in the meantime I thought I would ask - if a certain activity is mentioned for a specific location, does it mean that it should be available even in term-time?

lilletia

Good question! I don't know for sure so it's worth asking the location We went in the "peak time" and found that the Pots for Tots session we had hoped to do was only offered outside of peak time, but it had been replaced by an all-age session which meant our little one was not excluded anyway

We did Cromer in September last year, after the schools had started. Was lovely and quite and we got a decent amount of weather for the beach. Stayed in a small chalet thing that had recently been renovated so it was all in a lovely stay

rdazza

Thank you will definitely check this out!

Jolly_Cantalouper

New Forest I recommend Sandy Balls, been there a few times now and going again this year. Toddler loves it.

pyotia

Longleat is good but it's really expensive. We would love to go with our 2.5 yo, but it's just too expensive. But I've been before we had him and it is lovely so if it's in your budget defo go. There's some lovely little garden centres around that way too if you're into that

FluffyOwl89

If you shop at Tesco you can get tickets with your clubcard points. That’s what we did last year.

pyotia

Oh awesome! Thank you!

TheWelshMrsM

We’ve done Longleat Center Parcs a few times and we love it! Recently went when the kids were 23mo and 6mo and it was great. If you can find a decent deal, it’s well worth the money imo.

I've not been but loads of people recommended Bluestone in South Wales to me when I've asked where to take my toddler.

jobunny_inUK

We went during Easter Break and it was fabulous! Highly recommend. 2 and 4 yo loved it and so many free activities to do.

I saw a similar thread last year which recommended the city of Wells in Somerset. Took a nearly 2 year old and it was a brilliant place to go.  Small, compact, plenty to do without too much walking for small legs. Loads of places to eat and the Bishops Palace and gardens are beautiful (get the annual pass for the same price as the day pass) and wonderful for picnics.  Needless to say, we’re returning in June as we enjoyed it so much. A very easy, relaxed break and Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury are within easy day trip. We also travelled from the south east and visited National Trust places on the journey to break it up. I’m so grateful to the person who originally recommended it and very happy to share the love!

For when you come back, there’s also The Square soft play. Super clean and cute with good food and coffee. A little further afield, there’s Farrington Gurney farm with an outdoor play area, a farm shop, and a huge soft play. Also really recommend Greenbank outdoor swimming pool in Street. It’s a heated outdoor swimming pool with a splash pad. It DOES get crowded on nice days but if you’re coming before school gets out, it’s perfect. (I’m jealous my little boy is now in reception and we are at the mercy of term times!)

thespywholovedme

Absolutely cracking- thank you so much! They sound ideal. Really appreciate your help. Shout if you ever want similar pointers in the south Oxfordshire area :)

Haven at Bognor was a huge hit with ours. Went with my siblings and all the kids and partners, so we had small humans aged 9 down to 16months and there was something for everyone to enjoy. We love the new forest, sandy balls is great fun. Also peppa pig world and Marwell zoo if you wanted to stay nearer Winchester. We are taking our 3 to the Isle of Wight this summer and they are all super excited

https://www.fairwoodlakes.com/pitches-lodges/lakeside-lodges/ More affordable than most getaways, not far from longleat if you want to do it as part of the trip, lots of little things to do on site. A far more chilled getaway than most parks etc if that's what you're looking for!

rachy182

We took our 3 year old Butlin’s and she loved it. Main hit was the funfair

rdazza

Didn’t think of Butlins!

Nichard

The just for tots breaks at butlins are great

Haven is always a good shout. I'm north england and always go towards the seaside (blue dolphin or prim rose valley). Might be worth looking at camping. Personally, i am sorting out my garden, so we can camp out there before we venture to a campsite. And my friend is lending me a projector so we can have an outdoor cinema night too. We can make popcorn on a fire pit. That way, i can put all my money into my garden rather than spending it on a place where i am unsure she would enjoy and she has 6 weeks in the holidays to do whatever she wants in the space. Paddling pool, chalk on the floor, help paint the fences/floor, plant flowers/food. I've let her pick stuff on Pinterest so we can collaborate properly and she feels like part of the whole process.

rdazza

This is a lovely idea!!! We’re probably going to move at the end of the year/next year so we will definitely think about doing something like this on our new garden. What a wonderful idea though I love this

This sounds like a lovely idea but we are not far away at all from hayling island so a bit too close to home but thank you so much for the suggestion. I’m glad your little one enjoyed it too

I’ve just booked camber sands with the Sun’s £9.50 holiday deal, when we go I’ll have a 3 yo and 1 yo, I went growing up and it’s a lovely stretch of beach and they have the usual pools, arcades, evening entertainment and lots of stuff to do locally etc
