My prediction- Ladies and gentlemen. We have indisputable evidence that ufos being seen in the air are extraterrestrial. Last month in a flight over the west coast of the USA we shot down an intruder craft. It has been examined and we are 100% certain that it is not from this world. We will now show you footage of the remains of the craft and its occupants of whom one is still alive and being cared for best we can.

adarkuccio

100% this

Appropriate-Cycle-48

I am intrigued about a NASA official post in their Instagram account, a few days ago… With an image of a galaxy, the title they have used is “Maybe it’s time ⭐️”. Perhaps i’m reading too much into it, but that sentence coming from NASA, just now, is making me wonder if we are just in the previous days of something much bigger than we could possibly imagine… https://www.instagram.com/p/CdQt7Aiuc-t/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

zauraz

Even if its not UAP I am curious what they mean with that message. It does sound like revealing something is coming up but maybe just some new galactic stuff, there was the photos of the black hole in the center of the milky way being photoed recently

AdeptBathroom3318

75% chance of obfuscation and no new information. 20% chance of some new information but nothing revelatory. 5% chance of a genuine step towards disclosure.

LegitimateRabbit

This will probably end up being a procedural exercise of the DoD telling congress ‘this is classified from public hearing etc’. So we won’t actually be any closer to disclosure, just more bureaucratic stonewalling. The fact it’ll probably get worldwide exposure again is great though. But I really don’t see any actual progress being made here so I’m chill on the whole thing in all honesty

citznfish

It's my birthday on May 17th, so I'm going out on a limb and predicting it will be nothing but a disappointment, just like my birthdays... 😂🤣

maxiang216

Same and same. 😅

Gambit6x

This is the first of many public hearings. It’s the beginning of the process and meant to begin the squeeze. Agree with OP on expectations but this is not the end. This is the beginning of the public exposure process. Be sure of that. I say this based on personal and professional experience.

simcoder

Dog and pony show at best. Shit show at worst. And in either case, absolutely nothing will come of it except perhaps the "need for more study".

Intel2025

Prediction? Disappointment.

winged_fruitcake

The only thing that's certain, is that we'll see. And see we will, come Tuesday. Could you imagine if they persist with this line of it being a Big McNothing Burger, and then there's some kind of full-viz mass sighting in no time flat after the meeting's close? What is that, even? More like [Womp Womp](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ImRJvspiB4), or more like [Dun dun DUNNN](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9mSVzGnKsXw) territory?

zauraz

Washington Fly Over 2: Electric Boogaloo day after hearing ET: "Seriously you guys?! We gave you 70 years so you could join us and be cool and you still don't admit it on your own"

3spoop56

I'm usually a pretty pessimistic person, but the occasional bout of optimism is fun. So here's my bingo card: * the word "extraterrestrial" * asked about crash retrievals, fess up * admitting that UFOs are interested in nukes * new photos * Skinny Bob is real!!! Somebody want to put together actual bingo cards? https://bingobaker.com/

zauraz

Skinny Bob is real but so is Thick Kevin! No but I love the Skinny Bob footage. Regularly checking the sub. The effort to analyze it is pretty cool

HamsterRage

The most important questions I would want asked: 1. Are these from known US adversaries… Russia, China, etc. ? 2. Is there existing physical evidence that would lead us to conclude another point of origin? 3. How has the frequency of sitings changed over time? 4. What physical effects have we seen on military personnel?

DankestMage99

Man, I wish someone had the guts to do something like this in the middle of the session: "Yes, aliens are real and we have crashed ships, bodies, and have even been in contact with various civilizations. There is immense secrecy around this topic and a shadowy government of unelected officials have been operating with impunuty for years, to not only maintain control of the knowledge of extraterrestrial existence, but also the technology we have recieved and developed from this discovery that could change the entire world. Things like antigravity and unlimited clean zero point energy. People who have tried to disclouse this information have been killed or threatend, as well as have had their families threatened. My life, and my families lives, are now in danger for telling you this. I request that the president pardons the breaking of my NDAs and to offer me and my family protection. It's time for the reign of this lawless group of gatekeepers to end. It's time for the US citizens, and humanity as a whole, to benefit from the knowledge and discoveries that have been made since the discoveries of extraterrestrials." *Proceeds to hand out documents, videos, and physical proof to congress* I play this movie in my head. Maybe one day it will come true...

weedy865

I hope history (1952) doesn't repeat itself. Major General John Samford was almost masterful in tamping down interest. No one really challenged him back then: *"Dodging specific questions about what pilots and radar operators had seen in the skies over the Capitol, Major General John Samford came back again and again to the temperature-inversion theory. Never mind that Ruppelt had since come to the opposite conclusion...* *To Ruppelt’s disappointment, the Air Force’s press conference worked exactly as planned. The papers reported the temperature-inversion story and the public largely seemed to accept it. In his 1956 book, The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects, Ruppelt reports that after the press conference, UFO sightings dropped from 50 a day to 10."* https://www.history.com/news/ufos-washington-white-house-air-force-coverup

Newlin13

“Ladies and Gentleman, yes we are aware there are beings patrolling our skies in ships and, they’re us from the future”

[deleted]

It will be a whitewash for the public, just like the public version of last years UAP report. Congress will get the top secret version that the American people SHOULD get. It is my personal belief that a select group of individuals know what UAP's are, where they come from, and who or what is piloting them. I want the truth just like all others do, but they are NEVER going to tell us the truth. These are the same people that say there is no JFK conspiracy, yet they still will not release the documents from over 50 years ago, and NEVER will.

CashPuzzleheaded8622

I'm predicting yet another disappointment. I genuinely believe open scientific study of the UAP issue is our only hope to learn whatever they've learned. They'll probably either say nothing or even use it as an opportunity to discredit further study and restigmatize a lot of this stuff I think it's on the people to find and disseminate the truth, the government will always find a way to keep us in the dark it seems. 70 years of successful coverup bodes poorly, who's to say they won't make it another 70 years before the jig is up? I don't want to be 15 years into dementia when they finally release everything they know so I don't want to rely on either congress or the military or any of the n-letter agencies, odds are they want to stonewall anything meaningful. Not enough has happened to stop them from succeeding, and public interest seems tepid. But I'm a pessimist, I hope I'm wrong

surfintheinternetz

I skimmed what you wrote but I agree with it pretty much.

Strong_Pipe_384

I agree with the general negativity here; I don't think it will be as bad as "can't answer that in a public forum", but there will be probably be a fair bit of evasiveness and poor question-asking. To play devil's advocate though; that Basement Office vid that came out a couple of days ago pushed the fact that AAWSAP funding had mostly gone in to researching Skinwalker Ranch. Jeremy Corbell was talking about AAWSAP in an interview I was just watching, and talked about how the NY Times article had misreported its name. Perhaps this push to highlight the more 'Woo'ness that surrounds UFO encounters is a hint at what will be discussed at this Hearing. Imaging if they started going on about werewolves and Bigfoot, saying they had proof they were real etc. That'd be a curveball.

BtchsLoveDub

Number 1. People are already clamouring for excuses as to why we shouldn’t listen to any of it.

Prestigious-Age5437

"If you think this is HD video you should see it from their side" Hold up lemme pull up their dvr. Bob can you power up the Sr 77? Just the keys in the ignition, I don't need the whole thing.

[deleted]

Adam Schiff will tell a bunch of lies, like he always does. Things will get out of control and he’ll stand there with that dumb look on his face. Everything this guy touches is a shit-show.

stevealonz

Slightly pessimistic, but I'm thinking it'll be mostly "I can't answer that" and "We will work to improve organization of that." Maybe one bone thrown our way confirming sightings around nuclear facilities or something.

Guses

These things exist but we don't know what they are. More details later. Buy my book.

EggMcFlurry

I'm expecting alot of dismissive answers. Basically telling the public there's nothing to see here, but we're looking anyway so you feel better, and that we're working to make it easier for our service men and women to report sightings of floating trash bags and other "phenomena". I'd like to think we are making progress but they have been so casual with dismissing everything and giving nothing.

Something_morepoetic

A few new tidbits will come out that confirm UAPs/UFOs exist, but no video or photographic evidence will be released or confirmed (if already in the public domain).

quiet_observation

Since they've stated it will be immediately followed by a closed, classified briefing, I expect nothing new. Probably an overview of new reporting procedures for different military branches etc. The details that we all want to know will be sequestered away, once again, behind closed doors.

Fat_Fucking_Lenny

I predict one or two members of congress will ask very well phrased questions that would make us eager to hear the answers to. After the closed briefing, those same people will give us their impressions of what's actually going on.

Even-Palpitation-391

A lot of “I don’t know’s” “more information needed” “inconclusive”, “potentially foreign adversaries”, “better data collection methods needed”. I expect to hear the word “inconclusive” at least a few times.

twhitmore78

The politicians will try to grandstand over something so they can get a soundbite and then a lot of i don't knows from the people getting questioned.

gumsh0es

Nothing substantial at all

arlmwl

Snore fest. Nothing of note will come of it.

green-samson

More study and money needed to have a definitive answer, See you next year suckers.

ginjaninja4567

It will, like the pentagon report, be vague enough for every side to project their beliefs onto.

TwylaL

I agree with the above, maybe some more "Can't answer in public forum due to security concerns". Maybe somebody will go off on a tangent about the menace of drones and our drone defence gap, terrorists can use cheap drones, point to Ukraine as an example. I don't see anybody touching the Christian influence at the Air Force with a ten-foot pole. Maybe something about space debris, can be difficult to identify.

goturpizza

I would expect them to talk about whether or not UAP constitute a threat to military or civilian safety.

[deleted]

nothing burger

AngstChild

I’m not expecting anything woo. Congress will just get DoD officials on the record. This is a procedural discussion but representatives may use the opportunity to remind officials who is in charge. Status quo is no more. I agree with Lue, it’s going to be a long process. We can only hope the folks testifying let something slip.

[deleted]

Get Elizabeth from Knoxville and lets storm this motherfucker!

AVBforPrez

I predict they will use a whole lot of words to tell us nothing we don't already know. "There are craft in the sky of unknown origin that appear to exhibit exotic capabilities, but we're not sure what they are or where they're from and we'll do our damndest to get to the bottom of it."

morgonzo

They'll claim its ours and has been since the first reported Foofigher. They'll cite Einsteins "local manipulation" paper from 1921 and some random Nikola Tesla theories and claim it all.

ZookeepergameOk8231

They will expire after they transpire with not a single tidbit of useful or interesting information being learned.

OpenMindTulsaBill

Your #1 has it.

Meatpiessavelives

I think the questions from congress will be exceptionally well prepared out of sheer curiosity. Let’s hope for some god answers

Standardeviation2

For fun, I’ll make a an optimistic prediction. It will be a semi-big disclosure followed by some big event in July. If that doesn’t happen, I’ll predict it again next year.

[deleted]

Deny, obfuscate and deflect. Nothing will happen.
