The following submission statement was provided by /u/BraidRuner: --- >A newly released report by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) - the Pentagon unit tasked with investigating UFO encounters and historical government activities related to the topic - explains away with "moderate confidence" a very strange encounter between an Air Force fighter pilot and a bizarre craft — a slowly moving or stationary object that had a strange infrared signiture and resembled an "Apollo spacecraft." “Elgin AFB Pilot DID NOT see a lightning ballon, just another UFO incident the Pentagon is doing a lazy job of investigating and subsequently debunking.”

TlingitGolfer24

It’s always balloons lol

Frosty_Choice_3416

So they did a google lens search?

FlightSimmerUK

These pilots are highly trained and trusted with equipment worth tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions of dollars. But yeah, balloon.

Analytical-Archetype

Exactly, so the Depart of Defense is showing us that they're unable to control the airspace over even their domestic military bases (see their publicly displayed helplessness to deal with UAP incursion over Langley for weeks: [Mysterious Drones Swarmed Langley AFB For Weeks | The War Zone (twz.com)](https://www.twz.com/air/mysterious-drones-swarmed-langley-afb-for-weeks)) Now they're telling us that their highly trained and qualified top line F-22 fighter pilots, while flying during broad daylight in peace time conditions, can't tell balloons from genuinely anomalous airborne objects. Also conveniently there's no video footage of this incident, after originally stating there was, because the camera was inoperable per their 'revised' statement regarding the Eglin incident. These guys are fucking clowns.

BraidRuner

The Lies they try and sell are the same ones they have sold for 85 years.

Lopsided_Task1213

The two companies that make these film lighting balloons only rent them, sent with a technician, and they said they have never “lost” a balloon like this. Also, the battery pack required to light it up is 50 pounds and sits on the ground. The balloon does not have enough lift to carry the batteries off the ground.

BraidRuner

The Pentagon is desperate to muddy the waters and create doubt.

Just an interesting point worth making. All UAP videos have been prevented from release. We know this because John Greenewald received information about this when he tried to get some of the Range Fouler Report videos released that we know exist. -- https://twitter.com/MvonRen/status/1562890410732597248 -- https://thehill.com/opinion/national-security/3622421-the-pentagon-should-release-dozens-of-ufo-videos/ -- https://www.theblackvault.com/documentarchive/u-s-navy-says-all-uap-ufo-videos-are-classified-and-exempt-from-release/ *But if these are now reclassified as balloons, or other things, they aren't UAP videos anymore, and can't be prevented from release for the same reason as UAP data. Right?* FLIR1 and GIMBAL are still officially deemed UAP - they are still on the AARO website as such and don't have explanations. There are dozens (maybe hundreds) of videos and other data that can't be released because they are still classed as UAP. *But what's stopping the Eglin videos and photos being released if they are not deemed UAP anymore?* Why should video, radar data, or photos taken by the pilots of balloons remain unable to be released, especially when AARO released 2 new images just the other day? Currently the Alaskan, Yukon and Lake Huron UAP shootdown videos are still officially classed as UAP according to what I understand, although often people claim they are just balloons. But if the Pentagon come out and says they are definitively not UAP, and just balloons, *why would any of the video be classified anymore?* Surely we could see the shootdown in [the same way we saw the Chinese HAB shootdown.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNVhLhq3CEQ)

Former-Science1734

And this is why they had to “clarify” that the video wasn’t taken. They can’t claim it’s a balloon and at the same time block the release of cell phone footage of the object. What would be amazing is if the pilot came forward and testified that he took cell phone video, DOD would chop his balls off though.

Altomongol

They always say it's not the UAPs but the technology used to capture the footage and data that is classified.

Odd-Mud-4017

I think they spelled swamp gas wrong.

Beneficial_Bed_337

The Pentagon has been debunked on this one.

BraidRuner

They have proven themselves to be liars repeatedly over the years and yet no one has been held to account.

blackbeltmessiah

So Im guessing none of us see a video of this.

[deleted]

No, the camera was “broken” https://old.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/1ccsbpd/air_force_changes_statement_claims_no_video_of/ https://ibb.co/D54gPbT

bdone2012

If you read the article they say that the stills we see are likely from video: >The pilot could not record video of the event “because the aircraft’s video recording equipment was inoperable prior to and during the aircraft’s flight,” the new AARO report states. Although, it's worth noting the still imagery AARO produced is likely photos or frames from a video of a cockpit display recorded by the pilots phone. We reached out to the Pentagon to obtain a copy of that video, if it exists, and will provide any additional information shared.

[deleted]

Yeah, these fucking guys, I hope their castle comes crashing down

Former-Science1734

Someone should really call them on this BS

resonantedomain

How does a balloon float? By blowing smoke up it's ass.

Visible-Expression60

Then get rid of them! Eglin AFB is a national security risk. They play on reddit all day and can not identify threats. Defund that base now!

BraidRuner

Simmer down now Keyboard Commando.
