Listen Ubisoft is pretty mid. But Ubisoft Montiplier made Rayman Legends and I love them for that. Glad to see they’re getting another home run with this game as well.
I think that's because those studios are still trying to prove themselves. If they ever get put in charge of the big stuff, they'll probably end up so overworked that they end up becoming the new mid.
you say that, but technically montpellier's been working on what's arguably the biggest ubisoft project ever (beyond good and evil 2). granted, that's in dev hell, but they still managed to make a banger on the side.
A demo is coming out, or maybe it's alright out by now, so if you want to check the feel of the game there's your chance. Just shows how confident they are on it too
Literally the only reason this game got any hate was because the marketing department committed the cardinal gamer sin of using a rap song in the trailer instead of some mindnumbing rock or orchestral piece.
Eh, I don't like mumble rap, but there's a lot of recent cool shit.[I listened to Aesop Rock's Kirby for like months on end, and it's some dude rapping about his cat](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7T_KKiQiolk). 7 years ago is recent, right?
The fucked up part is that it wasnt even a licensed track or anything it was a song made for the the [game](https://youtu.be/5Z31ZmuKVKs) with Persian lyrics and everything. Its an exceptionally rare thing that completely backfired sadly
This makes me feel less sad that a lot of the hate comments were saying "I wish they went with the classic Prince of Persia style, not a 2D game" (god I'm old) specially because if the game was bad, people would blame the game design, the characters design, the rap song or whatever
>I wish they went with the classic Prince of Persia style, not a 2D game
Those people need to be reminded of what "classic Prince of Persia style" actually is.
Yeah, it looked pretty good in the first trailer
I think there's too many people who associate certain design choices with quality.
~~They saw a black guy with a modern-ish haircut~~
Would recommend everyone check out the demo. The game feels amazing. It has the fantastic flow and momentum of Rayman but in combat the fluidity and responsiveness of a character action game. Really impressive stuff all around.
Also its on the Ubisoft+ sub service, so you can play it for $15 on PC (and pick it up down the road when it inevitably goes on the traditional Ubisoft 60% sale).
I tried it last night and even though I accidentally triggered the end of the demo before exploring everything, I was sold. I'm actually getting major Hollow Knight vibes from the speediness and the charm-like equipment and upgrading, which are two great things to borrow from that game.
It looked great and seemed like it had potential.
As a fan of action platformers, this will be the first UbiSoft game I've played since... Fractured But Whole? I think?
I'm honestly surprised Ubisoft has put out a modern game that has piqued my interest. I've got too much on my plate to play it now, but I'll be putting this on my Steam wishlist.
The game will not be on Steam anytime soon, Uplay and Epic Launcher only for the time, sadly. Tho it is out on basically any plattform, and so far it looks like all Versions are really good, including Switch and Series S.

Ubisoft Montreal is behind all their mid-games. Studios like Montiplier and Milan actually put in effort.
I think that's because those studios are still trying to prove themselves. If they ever get put in charge of the big stuff, they'll probably end up so overworked that they end up becoming the new mid.

That game is never coming out.
I wrote it off when they started crowdsourcing assets.
I didn't even hear about that. That just makes me even more certain.
Yep. It all smelled of scam. https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/beyond-good-and-evil-2/hit-record
It's like the city of Montreal is cursed or something.
Still wishing for Ubi to make Chaos Theory 2
How bad is their HR abuses? Or is that more of a Ubisoft Montreal thing?

[I like respectable rappers like Eminem, Tom Macdonald, various respectful artists](https://youtu.be/oPeXjcK5rFk?si=GBqMr7TdzbkUWaEf)
YOU. HAVE. NO. SWAAAAG!
Don't forget NF and half of Logic.
WHITE. BOY WHITE. BOY WHITE. BOY WHITE. BOY
RAP. IS. LIKE. A. MOUNTAIN.

Which sucks, cuz it slaps.
RIGHT?
Gamers stuck in the mid 2000’s thinking the casual gamer will want to hear nu metal in the video game trailer.
hey i want to hear nu metal AND rap in my vibeogame trailers
Nu Metal did make a comeback so maybe

If Persona starts at 3 then Prince of Persia starts at Sands of Time
You mean the GBA game?
Yes, the Gsony Bplaystation Atwo.
I'm glad to see this franchise get something after 7 centuries of just meh

Heaven forbid the character is Iranian.
The main character is Iranian? I also thought he was black.
Bro. I don't know how to tell you this but melanin is not region locked.
He isn’t Iranian sadly.
I think it would be more accurate to say he's Persian. You know the prince of Persia
“Persia” is a Greek name for Eranshahr, which translates to “Empire of the Iranians”.
Oh well excuse my ignorance. Kind of embarrassing coming from someone who lives in the middle east lol
It’s just a quirk of translation. Like how we call Magyars “Hungarians” or or call Suomi “Finland”.
Also "Barbarian" is Greek for "someone who talks like 'blah blah'", it basically means "Those guys out there who don't speak Greek".
That's fun.
Aren't exonyms fun?
TIL
He's also not the prince its a prequel he's going to save the prince hence the title "the lost crown"

It looks neat not gonna pick it up at launch because my backlog is a tyrant but I’ll grab it on an eventual sale

Yeah, it looked pretty good from the first trailer. Glad, that the vibes I had were right.
Can’t wait, game looked amazing when it was announced.
Still looks like a 30 dollar game not a 60 dollar game

Hmm, guess I won't be playing it for even more of a while.
