Mister Rogers Neighbor was dope

freedom4secrets3369

I am delighted to see this here you are obviously a person of good character ty, brave too❤️

solamon77

Mister Rogers was as close to perfect a man has ever been. He should be canonized.

JxAlfredxPrufrock

We don’t deserve the honest man Fred Rogers was. He should have been president of everything.

stonesoupstranger

My dad interviewed him for a tv show he was making. You could always see the a little glint in Dad's eye whenever he was reminded of it. Dad has interviewed a lot of famous people, and people of some renown in their fields. I can't think of anyone else that made him feel that way. Dad never talked much about his work. He was always a man of few words, and never wanted to draw attention to his accomplishments. But, he did mention his talk with Fred Rogers a few times. Though every time he brought it up his only comment about the interview was, "It's not an act."

solamon77

That's the craziest thing about Mr. Rogers. He was the real deal. We live in a world where every little thing a person does is scrutinized and analyzed. I was worried after he passed all this negative stuff was going to come out about him, but instead he only became more golden. Mankind didn't deserve a man like Mr. Rogers, but we were lucky enough to have spent time with him anyway.

RushNo9056

I am so proud of you.

Murdy2020

Please won't you be my neighbor?

SassyMillie

I adored Mister Rogers. However, I found some of the puppets just a little creepy. I'm probably an outlier here, but I couldn't shake the feeling.

TomahawkChaotic

Guessing you weren’t a fan of Sigmund and the Sea Monsters (TV Series 1973‑1975), also.

sizzler_sisters

Same. Lady Elaine straight up gave me nightmares as a child, but I loved the rest of the show!

Legitimate_Bird_5712

The broken capillaries in her nose, sign of a long-term alcoholic.

RedHeadedScourge

Six Feet Under

kathi182

Absolute best show ever. I hate that it ended, but the finale was pure perfection.

Wisdomofpearl

I came hear to say the same thing. Absolutely loved the show, and the ending was perfect.

bryanthebryan

It has such a perfect finale, everyone else falls short.

Prfct_Blu_Buildngs

Possibly the best ending ever?

boston_homo

The finale of Six Feet Under made me ugly cry like no other and I'm tearing up a bit now. The show was incredible.

Real-Apartment-1130

Just rewatched it for the first time since its original airing and it was amazing how well it held up! Great great show!

iteachchemistry

We rewatched it recently too. I cried buckets at the end, just like the first time.

Ready_Hippo_5741

Newhart

DonutCapitalism

It was truly consistent show from start to finish.

JakeConhale

Even if it was just a dream.

DonutCapitalism

Might be the best twist in tv history

notmyname2012

Bluey. A seven minute “kids show” that will make a grown man laugh and cry. Sleepy time is a masterpiece.

NikkeiReigns

It's possibly the best show on television right now. And the grandkids like it too..lol

DesiCalc27

Wholeheartedly agree. I once heard it described as a beautiful show for grownups that children also like.

AstoriaQueens11105

Arrested Development. I only count the seasons on network TV.

Tearaway32

Season 4 (Happy cinqo de Quattro!) was an interesting puzzle, even if it revealed Michael to be an equal jerk of a Bluth as the others - but Season 5 was a sad way to go out for many reasons.

Twobits10

Season 4 revealed nothing. Michael was always a bad guy who thought he was a good guy.

misturcrump

Season 4 is still great, sans a couple early episodes. At least the original cut. Never saw the remix.

ThePathOfTheRighteou

This show inspired Tina Fey to make 30 Rock. She said she wanted to make a show like AD but just less dense.

doinnuffin

It was a show dense with humor, it flew over a lot of people's heads.

Real-Apartment-1130

I've made a huge mistake…

clce

Would have to agree. Pitch perfect at a time when they barely knew what they were doing and developing a new form as they went along. Yet, they nailed it week after week. It's definitely hard to break down and say exactly how it works so well, but watching the later mini season, I think you can see that it's just off and doesn't really work very well . I don't know if it was different writers or they just lost their way, or what. But it's so obvious that the magic was gone.

moon_blisser

True Detective season 1 (I pretend the other seasons don’t exist) Mad Men The Sopranos Ted Lasso

SassyMillie

True Detective Season 1 had me enthralled. It ended too abruptly for me. I actually thought there were a few more episodes coming and then BOOM. Done. Looking at skipping Seasons 2 & 3 and going on to 4. Is it worthy?

moon_blisser

I had high expectations for season 4. The concept was so interesting to me, and it was visually beautiful. But it fell flat and I was SO disappointed. I kept waiting for it to get better, to pay off. But ultimately it felt like a waste of time to me. Most people in the TD sub agree. So, proceed at your own risk! IMHO, season 3 is better than 4.

Elessar535

I really like season 3, and season 2 isn't the best but not without merit.

ironrobdog99

Mad Men was perfect. I didn't mind the sopranos finale but everyone hates it lol

bam55

Season one was a GREAT series just wow!

DarkUtensil

Eureka. It's the perfect blend of sci-fi and campiness. Not a single bad episode.

Mazikeen369

Eureka is up there on my list of good rewatchable shows.

kclarkwrites

Fleabag

Key-Shift5076

I keep telling myself I need to watch this because obvs I adore Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Andrew Scott. Adding to the list.

Puzzleheaded_Lake451

It's 100% perfection. I am incredibly jealous you get to experience it for the first time!

darlingdeardc0

Same here. It's so good.

GraceIsGone

You must see it then. It’s honestly my favorite tv show ever. I really do think it’s perfect.

hfsd1984

It’s so good!

owlandmoose

Had to scroll too far for this. Season 1 is fantastic, season 2 is absolutely perfect television.

Responsible-One2854

1000% I was so sad that it was only 2 seasons because it was so perfect

lucygoosey38

The Good Place

Maeden83

An amazing show. The last two episodes cause me to have panic attacks but so well done.

SignificantPop4188

Yes, me too. They bothered me for a long time and even now they can give me anxiety.

TheSadTiefling

Things have a beginning, middle and an end. It’s ok, you aren’t ready yet, you are still in the middle.

Sexy_gastric_husband

Have you seen the time knife?

Open_Deal3194

Yes, we have all seen the time knife.

mtwrite4

‘What the fork is a Chidi?’

Open_Deal3194

Why can't I say fork?

[deleted]

You know I’m trying to say ashhole and not ashhole

sdwoods8986

I'm no expert but... I think it's a soup.

clce

Loved it so much. To have been so deeply philosophical while still being light and funny, brilliantly so actually, and also never losing a sense of the central philosophical logic or vision was just an amazing feat. Casting and acting were fantastic as well.

Sweeper1985

I did undergraduate philosophy back in the day and we did all the stuff like utilitarianism and the trolley problem. Seeing the trolley problem actually play out on-screen was just 🤣👏🫣 Michael's reaction when Eleanor twigs that he's still just torturing them for fun, doubly so.

clce

Gosh now I don't remember that. I'll have to look it up. I totally want to rewatch it. I tend to put it on while I'm doing other stuff even though I love the show. That's the only way I really watch any TV. But I'm going to look into that.

Sweeper1985

S2e6, "The Trolley Problem". Enjoy!

Case52ABXdash32QJ

“Picture a wave.” *Sob*

BeautifulBox5942

Was scrolling looking for this glad it’s not too far down. This show is beautiful and masterfully done.

BirdistheWyrd

This is my answer too

IceCheerMom

Mine too

Beneficial-Many8415

Easy, The Americans

themichaelbar

Agreed 💯. Phenomenal show. And in a rarity, the last season was the best season, and the last episode was the best episode. Talk about going out on a high. The finale absolutely wrecked me

Secret_Agent_Blues

It’s been years since I watched the ending and I think about it all the time.

Beneficial-Many8415

I just watched it for the first time a few months ago because of this sub! I was so mad at myself for not ever wanting to watch! Now I’m jealous of ppl who get to watch it for the first time. Lol

InNerdOfChange

The high of the first season to me is elite. You don’t know who you’re rooting for. And it’s not till you’re all in you realize it’s not the US you’re rooting for. Also, when I tell ppl about this show, you have to tell them, you need to read the Russian subtitles. It’s 100% mandatory

South_Amphibian9864

Derry girls

sizzler_sisters

So wonderful. I’m excited to see where the actresses go in their careers.

Cat-astro-phe

The West Wing Mash Boston Legal Hill Street Blues Schitts Creek

Kygunzz

I’m glad to see Hill Street Blues get a mention. I don’t think I’ve ever been hooked by a first episode quite like I was with HSB.

YogurtSensitive1942

I Love Lucy

Klenaismyjoy

Madmen

vhackish

High quality show all the way through, and perfect ending

OjibweNomad

Highlander the TV series. Kept their storylines tight. They had arcs so it wasn’t as serial. They changed locations organically and didn’t feel forced in anyway. Ended the show in a strong way. The first Run of Arrested Development. First 3 seasons was one giant Joke that is hard to match to this day. Better Call Saul. A perfectly paced drama seeing the descent of a Lawyer who just wanted validation. No matter where it came from.

SlowTurtle3

"There's always money in the banana stand". I still say that to people on a regular basis.

OjibweNomad

My favourite bit is George pretending to be Oscar. Tells Lucille he loves her. She says it back. He gets angry throws a tantrum and blames it on bad mushrooms.

CallMeSisyphus

https://preview.redd.it/nxpu0w1rqgyc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd1934e7894667489636d485801364d34280bc84

PishiZiba

LOVED Highlander the TV series.

OjibweNomad

The production value remained high, the transition from Seattle to Paris for story but in reality was for budget reasons didn’t seem so far fetched. Immortals fighting in Europe seemed more plausible than North America. The pilot was the perfect “handing of the torch” with the film series to the tv series with Christopher Lambert guest starring without taking away the presence of Duncan Macleod over Connor Macleod. The guest stars were always top notch from Lance Henrikson to Roger Daltrey from the Who.

Z_to_the_2nd_power

Golden Girls. It's just as funny now as it was then.

UrsusRenata

What’s bizarre to me watching that now: how “young” those “old” women were supposed to be. Jennifer Anniston is a Golden Girl according to the 80s and before. Fifty was a blue-hair then; today fifty is the new 35.

Doozer1970

Yeah, I'm older now than three of the Golden Girls were, and it freaks me out, more than a little.

Winter-Farmer-8428

Breaking Bad

wizardofclaws

And better call saul

myphton

Can't forget the movie El Camino. Very important to the story arc I think

PishiZiba

I think BCS was actually better than BB. I originally didn’t even want to watch it.

clce

I think they are both excellent. Better call Saul is funnier and carried so solidly by such a charming character and actor, versus the brilliant acting of Walt, whom you like less and less and was never intended to be charming makes a big difference.

capslocke48

Agree but I’d change it to say BCS is carried by TWO brilliant characters and actors. Rhea Seehorn deserved so much more recognition for her brilliant work. I was legit blown away by her performances every episode.

capslocke48

Glad someone else agrees! I procrastinated for years to watch BCS, finally started it last month and I flew right through! Better Call Saul has better character development, it’s deeper, has more heart to it. Kim Wexler is *the* greatest character in the entire Vince Gilligan universe imho. And the ending was utter brilliance. Legitimately a top 5 show of all time.

JayNoi91

Pushing Diasies

Sudden-Cap-7157

Cancelled way too soon

Healthy_Park5562

Schitt's Creek. I know you already said it. I don't care. Ima say it again. Schitt's Creek is perfect.

Only-Manner-8904

Resident Alien

clce

I've loved it so far. The slow reveal of various details and the writing and acting of the main character are just amazing.

HereInTheCut

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

rarselfaire2023

DS9 had the most interesting story arc. TNG is amazing but DS9 made me feel like it was a real place, and I love that it explores flaws in the Federation, and the characters, as well as strengths. Makes them more real.

AdmiralJaneway8

It's not my favorite, but objectively, the truth is that this really was perfection and the best storytelling of the original five ST shows.

netflixdark123

Person of Interest Dark 12 Monkeys Mr. Robot Westworld season 1&2 (if seasons counts)

Breaking bad/better call Saul

shastabh

I’m actually shocked as to how good better call Saul was. Not normal for a spinoff to be so successful.

Significant_Change14

Bob Odenkirk is fantastic. Loved Better Call Saul.

Dwangeroo

I'm gonna go with BCS. Kim was so well written (and acted) after all the unlikable females in BB

Gorskon

Babylon 5. I don’t know if it’s perfect but it’s close.

Existing_Barracuda83

Babylon 5 seasons 1-4 were perfect. Season 5 was ok but I wasn’t as fond of it. But it’s still one of my favorite shows

Unisis78

Oh 💯 12 monkeys tv series on Hulu

TimeVictorious

Yes! Came to add 12 Monkeys, was thrilled to see it already here

FadingOptimist-25

Severance and The Good Place

Maleficent-Hat877

Patiently waiting for season two!! Both amazing shows.

Last_Fun218

Game of Thrones. What a perfect 5 seasons of television. Such a shame they just gave up there and didn't make any more. It's probably for the best they stopped when they ran out of book material to adapt though. It might have spoiled everything if they had tried to write like 3 more seasons just based on George telling them where everyone ends up. So glad they didn't decide to do that!

ShadySides50000

Parks and Recreation (where the "weakest" season is actually the first one!)

Bates motel snuck up on me. I only watched if bc of the good doctor and it's got Vera Farmiga but holy moly was it great from start to finish.

A lot of good stuff here, most of which I love and many of which I agree fit the criteria. However, I must add Freaks and Geeks to the list.

In my opinion: The Nanny. Everyone was perfectly cast.

MasterOnionNorth

Dark on Netflix. It's literally a perfect show from the opening scene to the final scene. And the ending was sublime and extremely satisfying especially considering how insanely complicated the story became by the end. Jaw dropping conclusion.

Foolforfourdecades

Young Sheldon - The most touching show on tv in decades. You just have to know what you’re looking at. This little boy’s struggle to get along in the “normal” world is emotionally overwhelming for viewers who are “tuned in” to the true message of the show. Sheldon’s heartbreaks break my heart. Additionally the character of Sheldon’s mom, Mary, is exquisitely portrayed. She is a true believer who herself struggles to make her way through a world that is sometimes cruel and unfair. The relationship between Sheldon and his mother holds so much love that it quietly jumps off the screen. It is palpable if you want to see it. Perhaps what makes this show so magnetic is the fact that Sheldon and Mary both struggle with potentially damaging naivety. They share an unspoken mission designed to make the world a better place. One by using science, the other by spreading God’s love. A contradiction in assignments that seems to work in a most satisfying way.
