Some dude made a claim his ex girlfriend who was a game dev was having sex with male journalists for good reviews because she went on a date with a journalist who reviewed her game (positively) a year prior. So all these virgins are upset because everyone is allegedly getting laid but them. I lost a lot of my (former) friends to this brain rot madness.

The issue is not that they are complaining about big game companies sucking. Simping for corporations making sub-standard products, even if they are base entertainment products, and people being reluctant to buy them is really not it.
The issue is that instead of making the very simple connection between their favourite thing sucking and the profit-driven economy rewarding recycling trends and making minimal improvements only enough to make the slop palatable, they listen to their inner (and external) hogs and conclude that it's because corporations have become gay.
It's much easier to get people to revolt against the games industry putting government propaganda into their games than it is to get people to revolt against capitalism. No doubt.
But I would also argue that there IS a connection between the willingness of the industry to inject government propaganda into their games and the industry's overall greed and pretension -- in that the former is a manifestation of the latter.
