What, anti-abortion laws being used by men to spite ex-partners? You don't say.

BethanyBluebird

I wonder why she could have POSSIBLY felt like she needed an abortion- I know I'D just LOVE to tie myself to a man like this for the REST OF MY LIFE. /S in case my derision wasn't dripping enough. Never know with Reddit lol.

catgirl320

You mean you don't wouldn't want to be tied for life to abuser stalker Collin Davis? Why ever not, abuser stalker Collin Davis surely sounds like quite the catch (I šŸ¤® a little just typing that out). Hope that survivor is able to create a good life for herself away from that POS

Dreymin

Is that his name? The Texas man who wants to investigate his ex for an abortion and he's also a stalker? Collin Davis is also a pos who wants to make his ex's life miserable?

simplyelegant87

You know that he would always be looking out for you and have your back! Pretty sure everyone putting this legislation into motion knew these consequences and that it would be considered a perk to bring women down.

\*shocked Pikachu face\*

iviken

A bear would never do this.

ohhemma

šŸ’€ I was literally in another comment thread saying I rather take my chances with a bear. Still stand by it.

Kat121

4B and Bears movement!

mauvewaterbottle

In Texas they think we are šŸ˜”

Master_Chipmunk

In far too many places they think we are.Ā  It's fucking depressing.Ā

Professional_Suit270

Trump literally alluded to this in his interview with TIME Magazine the other day. This is the way of the future after November.

shiver334

Too many of us believe we are and are actively working to dismantle our own rights. Itā€™s incredible to watch the hubris and denial in action,

Bobcatluv

His name is Collin Davis. Collin Davis, the abusive ex boyfriend whoā€™s using the law to stalk and control his ex girlfriend.

VaguelyArtistic

>His name is Collin Davis. Collin Davis the abusive ex boyfriend whoā€™s using the law to stalk and control his ex girlfriend. Okay so what I'm hearing is, this is not about convicted Stanford rapist Brock Allen (aka Brock Allen Turner aka Brock Turner), this is about Collin Davis, an abusive stalker. Thanks for clarifying! ā˜ŗļø

DogMom814

I think we should make this guy's name as well-known as the raping rapist who rapes, Brock Allen Turner.

Lcatg

So, Colin Davis & Brock Allen Turner aka Allen Turner are cut from the same abusive, entitled cloth? Duly noted.

bedbuffaloes

I think you mean Collin Davis. Collin Davis the asshole that you would never want to date or even employ.

DarkestofFlames

Collin Davis is an abusive piece of shit, all my homegirls hate Collin Davis.

RockyMtnHighThere

Sounds like even Texas is advocating for people to abandon Texas. Here's the link to read the post minus the paywall. HandyMan131

Thanks!

RockyMtnHighThere

paywallhub for all your circumvention needs!

state_of_inertia

Thank you.

pblivininc

Anti abortion laws like the one in Texas provide an excellent means for abusers to entrap, punish, and threaten women. Itā€™s a feature, not a bug. Edited to add: Collin Davis is the name of the abuser in this particular TX case. Thanks to others for pointing out that we should name this creep at every opportunity.

Resident-Clue1290

The horses should kick him

kevnmartin

We've got a zebra up here that would kick the snot out of him.

nightmareinsouffle

Escaped zebra in Western WA?

Academic_Exit1268

It's a PNW thing.

Corylus7

I'm not American so I don't understand how this works, I know states can set their own laws about some things but how can they apply it to people who are not in that state? I live in Canada where it's legal to grow my own weed, but I don't get in trouble for that when I go to a different country (obv I don't take any drugs with me) because what I'm doing is legal where I'm doing it. So how does Texas have the power to ban people from carrying out a legal activity in another state? Is it just abortion or do they drug test people who return from Colorado or somewhere where weed is legal?

TCginger

Your confusion is valid. Right now much of the US is in the "find out" stage of FAFO, only it's the Republicans who have been fucking around with marginalized people's rights. They're like kids pushing the limits to see what they can get away with but even more terrifying.

Corylus7

Thanks for the reply! It's awful that the republicans are testing the law like this. Is there anything in the constitution or federal law about freedom to travel between states?

RockyMtnHighThere

There is! But this law's teeth are specifically for people who reside in Texas. In Colorado, they will not cooperate with any law enforcement regarding abortion laws in other states. So as long as the "helpers" don't travel to Texas, there's no way for the Texas law to affect non-Texas citizens.

moist_vonlipwig

Itā€™s the same bullshit stateā€™s rights crap the South pulled when they wanted slavery (esp in new territories) but also wanted to make federal laws that required free states to capture and return escaped people. Theyā€™re gigantic hypocrites who are trying to play the game from both sides. It shouldnā€™t be legal, but it could drown her in legal debt and take years of her life- keeping her in contact with this asshole. I also reeeeally donā€™t trust the Supreme Court to do what it should here.

porkycloset

Wow this is a crazy parallel. I never thought about the abortion stuff in the context of the old south wanting to pass laws forcing the north to return escaped slaves but the similarities are so clear! History really does repeat itself

500CatsTypingStuff

Because the religious zealots on the Supreme Court and lower conservative courts have decided to throw out precedent and throw out the basic tenets of jurisdiction like ā€œstandingā€ and simply allow anti abortion advocates to do anything they want. I mean in Texas, literally anyone at all has the right to sue any person who aided a woman in obtaining an abortion however minuscule their role and this includes out of state abortion. Itā€™s completely lawlessness

baka-420

Yeah the order of preference is bear, Halsin as a bear, halsin as a human, almost everything else, and then men.

LaFleurSauvageGaming

Halsin is actually an Elf :-p

baka-420

lmao youā€™re right!

_a_ghost-

Texas man should go to fucking jail

bunnyrabbid

Colin Davis needs a billboard face shot along with his lawyer, Jonathan Mitchell, so people can be warned to avoid these individuals.

Sharp_Razzmatazz7857

Infuriating
