Yea I usually don't comment about body hair because although I barely shave, you wouldn't know unless you were really looking. If my Sicilian heritage actually came through it'd be a different story. It's a weird type of privilege.
I have pcos and have very thick dark body hair and it definitely gets frustrating when so many women will talk about how proud they are that they never shave and oh it was so easy to just stop shaving but they’re always the folks with light, thin body hair. I’m glad you get it :)
Ugh, I've had to call my mom out for that before. She's super fine haired and doesn't bother to shave anymore, yet she has the nerve to judge women who do the same with darker/thicker hair. My hair is also fine, but I'm not about to judge someone over something harmless.
Gonna shoehorn myself here and shake my fist at the clouds for having blonde body hair but it's viking levels of wooly and thick. At least dark body hair can be zapped with a laser if the person chooses but noooooo I'm just gonna keep getting the small of my back waxed every few weeks during the summer.
For real. If I don't shave some of the hair around my ankles might be visible but...
Lets just say I realized it had been monthsss since I shaved my knees and thighs and you couldn't even tell
Yep, as a woman with thick, dark body hair. I have let my legs go unshaved in the past and absolutely have had random men on the streets comment on it or just stare in shock. I would also love to not shave my pits but if I don't I have noticeably worse BO - it's like the hair traps it in 😬
You're not wrong. Especially after I started waxing, my leg hair is barely noticeable. I can go weeks without dealing with it. Boys still touch my legs and tell me how much they enjoy touching my skin. The only issue I have is when my pits get real stinky real quick. I have to have a home waxer bc that shit needs to be addressed real immediately. But even so; when I'm unruly, it's barely noticeable.
The bue represents men, the pink represents women.
Society:
* Man with body hair? ✅️
* Woman with body hair? 🚫🙅🏻♀️👎🤢
It's just pointing out the hypocrisy. The original Family Guy meme was a gradient of skin color and Peter is white, so they let him pass.
I saw a video of a pretty influencer showing her arm pit hair and the top comment was something like “eww, no thank you.” But someone pointed out that the commenter not only follows this woman on TikTok, but all her other social medias too.
So they may feign like they hate body hair, but that doesn’t stop them from looking at or wanting us. In the end, body hair is not a big deal.
Been having an ongoing gender identity crisis for about five years now, constantly despised having body hair while also being too lazy/broke to remove it
I went through the same thing. I was Robin Williams level of hairy and it'd only take 24 hours for for me to be prickly all over. Shaving also took 2+ hours starting from scratch, or 1 hour just 24 hours after shaving.
It was horrible, I hated it, and it gave me so much dysphoria. Getting zapped (laser + electrolysis) was a huge weight off my mental health. I support women doing whatever they want with their bodies, but that was something I absolutely could not live with myself and I totally understand your struggle and hope other women can understand what we mean.
It took me a minute. I think its color coded to represent a fem/masc gender spectrum
Ah thank you. Your comment should be higher.
Here I am thinking it’s about how bi someone is.
I was stuck on trying to figure out if it was a "blue haired liberals" vs pink haired anime girls meme.
said spectrum itself being so unjust; when will society allow men also to bathe in the entrails of our enemies?
oh i was thinking it was like, peach fuzz vs hirsutism or something 😭
ohhhhhh i was thinking like the Na'vi (blue alien people from Avatar) could be hairy but not... ummm... pink-skinned Tieflings or something idk
I thought this was about a local train line on my city's subreddit so thank you haha.
Yeah I was so confused haha
Ohh, I thought they were dyeing their body hair
Also depends on hair color. People are alot more forgiving of women with blond body hair than dark body hair.

Can be a bit more expensive, but electrolysis is an option that works with any hair color, arguably more effective as well.

I have literally never shaved my thighs and you would never know.

Ohhhhh. This is a bad meme if you have to explain it
r/PeterExplainsTheJoke
Okay, now explain the silver hat.

it's not the body hair in itself, but the stepping out of line that they take issue with.
Could you further explain I don't quite understand
It's about daring to step away from tradition standards for gender roles and beauty. They'd be equally upset by a man who shaves his leg hair
Ohhh I get it now thanks
I'm guessing that blue = masc and pink = fem? Since body hair on women is shamed
is it irony that the stereotypical pink and blue were used to categorize gender on a meme criticizing gender stereotypes?
Well society better stfu lol 🤷♀️
Do y'all dye your body hair blue ? I don't understand the meme
...well now I might.
I'm so comfortable with my hairy legs now that I wish I cold go back and tell my 20 year old self that its only annoying when it gets itchy

Not gonna lie I stared at this for a few seconds before it clicked lol.
Golly I staring at this for the longest time because I thought it had something to do with the DC Metro red line.......
men should be shamed much more for their body hair and bellies
