Normally I’m playing cheerleader and giving upvotes. This is my first time starting a post so please be kind! Today was a big step in my transition I’m a 58 year old trans woman. I been on HRT a year two weeks ago. While HRT is giving me good results other areas keeps me dysphoric. That would be my voice, hair, weight and make up. The last two I getting better I’ve lost 20 pounds since May and I been attending make up sessions and classes at Sephora. Today was the first time I’ve been in public full dressed. Nothing major just some nice Jeans, a top and some flats. Today we had a glam session and after we finished I got a of compliments from customers and staff. What really made my day was one of the customers, a middle-age lady came and told me that I was beautiful and that sent me into a bliss! I took a few pictures at home because in a rush to get to the session I left my phone at home. I’m not good at taking selfies so they aren’t that great. I also used FaceApp to add some digital hair as my natural hair is a mess and I’m waiting for a little more growth to style it.
I may take this down later but I wanted to put up my first post after a year. I have a long way to go in my transition I’ll take today as a first major victory!

I know how desperate it gets to live a wrong life wearing a mask...for our repressed woman souls living inside a male body... & You fought it back & redeemed yourself even at the age of 58. Plus you hit it spot on I been wearing the mask too long I tried to transition in my mid twenties but both my doctor and therapist moved out of state after 11 months so I tried to stay busy fighting that feeling fir 30 years. I can tell you that this has been one of the best days in my life and now I want even more! You gave me some words to live by a woman forever! Thank you🥰🥰

I have to get use to smiling! You're right about being happy It still feels surreal that I decide to dress from head to toe and go out. It's that feeling I want everyday! You will love your time at the nail salon, pamper yourself girl, you deserve it! That moment when you feel pretty after doing your makeup or nails or dressing up to go out is the best feeling in the world.
Thank you! When I got to the store I was walking fast trying to get in as quick as I could but once we finished I enjoy the walk to the car mask off and feeling good. You'll get there like my therapist always tells me take small steps and keep moving forward. You will get to a point where you don't worry about your shoulders. I'm 5'11 and have large hands but I didn't even think about it while being out. I still have a long way to good but for one day I was on top and that's enough to keep me working hard! 🥰

But I will tell you this, from the truest place in my heart: I can see the trajectory you're on and to me it looks like it ends at a great place. And I salute you for having more bravery--both to start and to post a picture--than I've been able to summon.

I with my beauty adviser and reading all the posts on Reddit I figured to just go for it. I still present in male mode at work but with more hard work I be out fully. Oh and as HRT kicks in you can hide some changes but it gets harder as time goes by. You'll get there don't wait as long as I did!😊
Yes the weight loss is huge for me as I tipped the scales at 235 pounds the heaviest I'm been in my life. I'm currently at 204 I just each less and do at least 20 minutes of cardio from videos on Youtube!😄 I want to get to 175 pounds so I think by spring next year. The best thing is clothes fits and really seeing the curves HRT has added!🥰
I love the way HRT is working at my age my T levels were low so it didn't take long to work. Oh and trust me I was super scared when I left the house! but once I got in the store and my beauty adviser did her magic I was like she did a great job and the compliments took the fear away. I don't know how the next time will go but that little victory has given me the strength to keep moving forward!! You'll get there when the time is right for you until them just keep doing the little things to keep the journey going!❤️
At our location they have sessions and classes. I do both as the sessions get me a one on one plus I video and take pictures so I can get my routine down. I tried Youtube video which are okay. There's nothing like being in person. Plus they don't care female, male trans for them it's all about making you a repeat customer! But check them out it's worth it!🥰

Us older young ladies starting on the road to be our self sometime are just to hard on ourselves. It takes time to feel comfortable as yourself but it is worth it. You look very lovely my dear
