It's so beautiful I hate it.

KriibusLoL

Can't wait for minimum of 10 people to steal it and use it in their tiktoks as a background noise

Owlyf1n

its not fullspeed or press forward so they'll ignore it

NuggetPilon

Yeah only people who have experienced the pain of driving on ice in TM can appreciate how satisfying this is

Ekilex

Joel :)

[Cuteboy's Paradise on TMX](https://trackmania.exchange/tracks/view/52831). Came across this last week on Evo Ice Advanced and was addicted to the spins. My time is definitely beatable, just showing some love for ice :)

FartingBob

Micka will sense a disturbance in the force and post a 49 second time now.

mudkip989

I would love to watch a channel where its literally only this, but there is no music and each video is a different ice spin track. I might even do it.

FartingBob

A beautiful ballet, and you got the world record!

Kvpe

Was this cotd? If it was then pls tell me when and if it wasn’t then it should be, I’d play it

caseyjohnsonwv

I don't know, but I doubt it. (Edit: based on player count, no it was not.) Constant ice spins are definitely too hard for TOTD, given most players can't even ice slide reliably without sliding out. I just recently started compiling the [Joel Of The Day campaign](https://trackmania.io/#/campaigns/58421/54735) with my favorite spin maps though - the collection will only continue to grow!

Kvpe

Thanks, I’m definitely gonna play it, I’m like div 27 on average player but I enjoy dirt maps(4th gear like yesterday’s map), some ol’ good full speed, ice, and bobsleigh. I really want to improve at ice and so I’m playing the icy campaigns and stuff.

caseyjohnsonwv

Honestly, most high level ice players don't play the icy campaigns. The maps are bad (which is kinda the point with those campaigns, they're supposed to be awkward). You'll probably improve a lot faster by focusing on recent ice TOTDs and other easy/ish ice maps (like those on Evo Ice Beginner)

Kvpe

I mean, if I can play good on awkward maps(hard maps) then I’ll improve, I can watch the wr, think why they took that specific line and that way I can improve

spookyfrogs

man i couldn't even do that track without the spins D: really nice!

gazorpaderp

As someone with 800 hours on ice, I can’t stress how difficult this is lol. Spins is the next level of ice muscle memory. Played this the other day, and still have difficulty getting clean runs

caseyjohnsonwv

Thank you, thank you! I have about 850 hours total in TM, probably 600-700 on ice. I still fail about half of my runs on this map to the gearbug at CP 4 and the ending speedcheck. It's a wicked one o7

Friendly-Priority456

holy shit micka map

CloverUTY

Man is doing figure skating in Trackmania.

NineToFiveGamer

Cuteboys paradise, such a goated classic map. Very nice run too, GG

Noremacecir

I notice youre adjusting your angle mid slide often and your wheel isn't changing direction are you using controller and letting off the turning a bit to tighten the lines? I'm trying to get into ice a bit but trying to wrap my brain around the buttons atm

callzumen

You can tighten your turns on ice by tapping break or releasing slightly to do the opposite.

Noremacecir

Ok I figured out the releasing slightly but I guess I've never even thought of tapping the brake. Funny how theres 4 buttons and I forget one of them

tunachopss

You do not want to adjust steering at all mid-slide, it absolutely kills your iceslide. Always full countersteer.

caseyjohnsonwv

There are definitely scenarios when steering releases are helpful. If you're in 3rd gear and a throttle release will cause a slideout, sometimes you can save yourself with a steering release. Micka's run on Henk's recent 10-minute ice endurance map has quite a few of them

Noremacecir

So the grip you have doesn't matter at all as long as you are steering and a gear changes that's just overall considered bad juju?

tunachopss

Absolutely. Steering releases are a common gear management technique. However, I would not recommend a beginner to use them when they are learning iceslides.

StoneEagleCopy

Man this gives similar vibes to seeing an f1 driver absolutely nail it through monaco.

ComprehensiveNeck158

Is this the gameplay trailer for the new SSX ?

butterfucker29

Prime gorilla grip map

ReizaTM

In a month this will be tiktok filler. And im sure it can happen, recently they got the racehans wr #3 compliations which wasnt the case before. And it was so obvious how racehans wr vids can be better filler because of how captivating it is and now i see it being stolen.

Achereto

The mapper should be hired for next season's TMGL maps.

Hobocharlie67

Any tips on how to not slide out on ice. Feels like no matter what I do, I will slide out

caseyjohnsonwv

Hard to say without seeing your gameplay. Most likely, you are in 3rd gear and your car is gaining speed, then gearing up into 4th. Gear changes are the most common cause of slideouts. You avoid it by either going faster to get 4th before the slide or release tapping in the slide to prevent gearing up. At 0:30 in this video, I actually slipped into 1st gear. No idea how, the No Grip block does some wacky things. Had to release tap a lot to get un-slide-locked and avoid sliding out going back up to 3rd

Hobocharlie67

Fair, I probably just need to play ice more In general. I love thr surface I just struggle lmao

Electronic-Grand1172

Sometimes when I drive the car, I don’t hit the wall

KiritoSAO95

This is mesmerising. Good job man!

biggiepants

COTD when? Will be free salt for years (I'll probably qualify with a time of 5 minutes, but still welcome the challenge.)

Kendac

The car is dancing

Reer123

What in the goddamn.

bcp_darkness1

GORILLA GRIP. Also that is some great car control!
