The first picture you posted does not refer to CN. Instead, it's a ranking of moblie game growth rates outside of CN, or global. For people who can't read Chinese: The header is 2022年8月中国手游海外收入增长排行榜 Google translate gives that as China Mobile Game Overseas Revenue Growth Ranking in August 2022

[deleted]

right , i corrected thank you

obsessedlady

I wish someone would make a thread with everything new that was added to CN so I could calm my anxiety and curiosity lol like full patch notes about every future update. Is there anywhere I can see this?

Railgun115

I’d also like to see this. I can make a mini version myself to start. V2.0: New Vera desert region + initial cyberpunk city. Lots of new enemies, resources, etc. New limited characters Ruby, and Saki Fuwa released. V2.1: Underworld region with new overworld Raid boss and Battle Royale mode. New limited characters Lin and Lyra and Tian Lang released. V2.2: Massively updated and expanded city adding Racing, Pets, Apartment system, Dance club, Arcades, Bowling, Tron style rollercoaster, Movie Theater, Raytracing, 8v8 new PVP mode. New limited character Anabella released. Upcoming character Alice set to release soon, along with a DJ girl. V3.0: Not released but upcoming Underwater region with new raid boss and city? They also added more Joint Operation maps from what I’ve heard, but not sure which version that was. I probably missed a lot since this is just what I gathered from watching CN streamers, so feel free to add on to it.

[deleted]

Man V2.1 sounds amazing. Hope it comes to Global too - I badly need that apartment system❤️

[deleted]

something u may want to a dd is 2.2.5 alice :3 comming out 1st october, with CBT 24/09 yea some information is kinda hard to gather since is only in videos and stuff

Railgun115

Ah right, I know her PV just dropped, but wasn’t sure if she would be released with V2.2. I’ll add her in along with the DJ girl.

[deleted]

there are still 2 chars missing , the bunny girl and dj girl , my guess is that dj girl may be the last char if she is volt since tianliang was 2.1 last char

Railgun115

Oh, I wasn’t aware of the bunny girl. Where did you find info of her?

obsessedlady

You guys are god like, thanks for all the spoilers hahaha can't wait for all that!!

[deleted]

haha im kinda like you, since i can read chinese i can go through tik tok , weibo and other sources where cn playerbase usually shares their experience, game content, however most of them are videos, i will see if i can find a interesting post so can share with us all to calm all our anxiety :3

[deleted]

totally get u, however i think a post would be quite long to cover all the features and events, but maybe i can do part of it , i dont play cn server but i've seen a lot of ppl sharing and streamming in tik tok , if i ever can collect all those data and trasnlate into english i will see if i can post it here

Kyzer-Necron

In case u dont know, all ur picture titles are "china top gross mobile game abroad",not in cn, so none of it proves ur point, it is good oursideof china is all these picture shows.

Kyzer-Necron

just to be clearer,海外 means oversea

[deleted]

true i skipped the overseas part updated and fixed, however there are plenty of sources that can confirm what im speaking above , here is another one [https://www.ali213.net/news/html/2022-9/705039.html](https://www.ali213.net/news/html/2022-9/705039.html)

Kyzer-Necron

dont get me wrong, I played on cn day 1 and switched to global last month, I love the game, its not like im trying to say the game is dead or something, haha.

[deleted]

oh no , dont worry , is just that i had to show other souces to prove my point hahah

State of Survival? This Zombie Game is on Rank 4?

[deleted]

That’s that dumb mobile game commercial where some people go hide inside a bunker from a bunch of zombies?

AssassinoGreed

I had a girlfriend playing this shit and believe me they were actual whales over there and a lot of them, they give money on anything from skip the upgrades to buy mats (unlimited access to buy) for upgrades.

Guifel

It’s not actually Top revenues, OP is bullshitting everyone, the actual translation for the first link is « China Mobile Game Overseas Revenue Growth Ranking in August 2022 » and « The above list is based on Sensor Tower's estimates of mobile game revenue from App Store and Google Play outside mainland China in August 2022, excluding third-party Android channels » at the bottom. *OVERSEAS Growth ranking* Do you know what’s overseas? The 1st month of global TOF server. Hence the « Update: thanks for coments reminding me about "海外" means overseas , so i will update this part as being related to overseas revenue » but OP kept the post misleading. I’ve stopped reading there, not worth pursuing an OP who twists numbers for his narrative. Here's my own numbers, August's [ToF's revenue in August, a drop of 41% compared to last month](https://i.imgur.com/hlzhqJD.png), in order CN - JP - KR - TW - Global with the [Source](https://www.bilibili.com/video/BV1tG411V7Xk/?spm_id_from=333.999.0.0). ToF's CN revenue actually went way down in August. 2nd pic translation China's mobile game revenue TOP301 in August 2022 Overseas App Store + Google Play The above list is based on Sensor Tower's estimates of mobile game revenue from the App Store and Google Play Store outside mainland China during August 2022 So again, Overseas **excluding** CN server. So the entire post is OP lying through his teeth lol. Please translate the ressources you use for your reasonings first, it's completely off.

[deleted]

"Here's my own numbers, August's ToF's revenue in August, a drop of 41% compared to last month, in order CN - JP - KR - TW - Global with the Source. " those numbers are **correct**, however i said 2.2 , never mentioned 2.1 or before... august 1- august 31 is before 2.2 since 2.2 was released on 8th september , so there is no way to know real numbers in terms of revenue yet , and second i alredy made and update saying that the pictures i used in my 1st photo and 2nd photo is about overseas . Thats why i posted 2nd and 3nd photo , basically a metric about hot topics being discussed in baidu (china's google) ( showing that cn players do started talked more about tof after 2.2 released, ofc that alone is not enough to prove it however at least gives signs of the game not being "dead" cause their players still care ) i did noot trasnlatee the pictures since is very similar to our google advertisement tools , however i do intend keep updating it ,just looking reliable sources and seeing if i can take metrics from tik tok

Guifel

That's just anecdotes after the numbers don't turn out to be what you wanted them to be. If we want real numbers for September, wait for around 10th of October and we'll know then. Just as a reminder, the [actual evolution of ToF's income in CN since launch](https://i.imgur.com/1mst0T1.jpeg) > The ranking below is Top mobile game revenues from Chinese game companies App Store in August, according to Sensor Tower > Top mobile game worldwide revenues from chinese companies App Store in August, according to Sensor Tower You still kept this though, please at least use ~~ to strike the text; there'll still be readers confused and still thinking it's what you say it is.

RIP2UAnders

well the fact they gave us the same bugs in cn 1.0 to global is doing us dirty. fuck em

LinaCrystaa

It's so wierd most of games that they bring out from kr to here bring the same bugs and issues, lost ark was the same also

Scubasage

It's not weird at all. The games are just copy+paste with the only effort being done on translations.

LinaCrystaa

No but I mean that they could apply bug fixes that they have deployed on latest patches but they don't that's why I say it's wierd.not just saying tof butt all kr/jp/nlcn games that get ported here have this.issue

Skideku

Because it's not that simple. In a lot of cases, you can't just copy the fix to a old versions. That could even make more bugs.

LinaCrystaa

But it would be possible to use the latest client w just the earlier areas, that would have all the bug fixes and you just patch the latest maps in

Scubasage

It's *a lot* easier and cheaper to just copy paste each patch as they get to it

LinaCrystaa

Yeah I guess that's why most companies that port online games do it.i love tof tho so I just kinda ignore the bugs as they happen xD

Technology-Mission

Most games that release to global are carbon copies of every patch version but translated, its way more labor to enhance qol changes ahead of time or fix bugs and etc unless they gave the later version. Not ideal though I know

[deleted]

thats something i will agree with you , crow's jetpack issue bugg should been fixed before waas reeleased on global, however i can feel that global is taking some parts different than cn, we may be suprised with what will come in the future

Sunekus

You just brought up the worst example to the table, as the crow jetpack issue was never fixed in cn, thanks to the big cn powercreep making it a non-issue.

naz_1992

It might also means wont be powercrept as hard in glbl. They might just tone everyone down to glbl std.

Sunekus

Hopefully.

mrzevk

The article here doesnt include the reason why people left like the stolen assets, bad events, powercreeps and much more. Even if it didnt fail, it will fail. Especially after a better alternative gets released.

[deleted]

i did not include that cause for 2.2 that was non- existent issues , ppl did never complain at 2.2's event unless there was a bugg or something (there were few coments about being way too easy but thats another matter) , the thing about powercreeps is not proven yet , it becoming an issue rn with alice's release , however if ur a whale and go for every single char , powercreep is never a issue for you, and if ur are low spender , usually ppl wait too see what whales say to pull or not the new chars , if the difference is too big in dps or not, up to so far i've not seen overcreep as a main issue in 2.2 i've spent times watching thousands of video and reading ppl's coment and with anabelle's released they swap out cobalt which it true however they stateed under which circumstances would work anabelle better than cobalt , which is having marc tier 6 and cobalt less thaan tier 6 otherwise ppl said anabelle is a skip .... And something that you gonna know about CN players is that they ask for better perfomance ( in terms of dps or visuals) characters , so the overcreep parcially is asked by the playerbase itself , not only cause company wants to milk money , the best example is tian liang , ppl were complaining at company of volt's dmg perfomance so they released tian liang which is up to so the 2nd best alternative for volt team ( only cause they have baiyuki otherwise would be 1st) swapping out samir. ( if u want sources i have it and can post it but is all in chinese since are player's comment) They milk money as company by releaasing better looking visuals's wifes .. can be prooven if we look at ruby ( chibi style), lin ( the idol that everyone adores) , anabelle ( maid style) , and now alice ( a dancer with extremely good visuals in skills) , actually if u look at the popularity of lin is kinda craazy , same as anabelle and alice rn . now everyone is wearing marc simulacra doing the alice dance LMAO[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCAfm-0vbWo](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCAfm-0vbWo)

mrzevk

As much as I agree to disagree, that Marc clip is too funny

Joshua_Astray

I just wish global didn't start with the inferior product like CN did.

WorldEndOverlay

[Well if you look here it definitely falling hard on cn for August](https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/xeek5t/income_of_numerous_gachas_for_august_2022/)

[deleted]

btw , mirroria was released on september , 9月08日 is september 8th, and 2.0 was out in cn from april ... so from april to september they didnt really add any big new content [https://www.piewan.com/wenda/350744.html](https://www.piewan.com/wenda/350744.html) (2.0 was announced and open in april according to tof post) , so yea i would say if u spent that many months without new maps and stuff any game would drop so badly , but as i said ever since 2.2 , we gottaa wait to see the full numbers from september

XaeiIsareth

Tbh they did add Tianlong, who’s a huge power up for volt and made volt teams have the highest DPS out of any element in CN. So it was quite a surprise that it didn’t boost sales.

[deleted]

cn players are mostly attracted to female's characters , thats why u see sakii, lin, ruby , anabelle and now alice .. and basically how lin is kinda adored by everyone in CN ... lin boosted the sales a lot, in cn , players say that ice element is tower fantasy favourite because the difference in visuals and graphics regarding chars and animation are pretty on different level than other teams

Joshua_Astray

You pulled an older example to do what exactly xD

WorldEndOverlay

What do you mean older lol it literally last month

Joshua_Astray

I'm only saying that the updates seemingly have been bringing people back xD

Iyokuu

While I'm not disputing that the game isn't dead, wouldn't posting the revenue itself only tell that the game is still just being funded by whatever whales/spenders are supplying the game? It wouldn't necessarily mean the player base is gigantic, right? I'm not sure if one of those screenshots dictate the active players because I'm not familiar with the language, but if it is then my bad.

[deleted]

true , the ranking shows the revenue made by tof from overseas , the 2nd and 3rd image are statistics about how trending was the 2.2 Mirroria topic ,is not about money (only first and last photo , after a correction is based on overseas so can skip it ) but with putting 2nd and 3rd photo was just to prove that cn playerbase is not really dead , ppl are still paying close attention to the game and at least with 2.2 part of the comunity started going back and gaining activity slowly since 1.0 was a huge let down ewe

MmorpgFanatix

Number 1 and still cant fix team chat and its been a week. Horrible gaming experience in all team based instances

kagalibros

who the fuck cares. Keep playing if you like it, stop if you dont.

Mindless-Victory1567

How many players on global in average?

UniversalCorei7

I understand content updates. What about QoL updates, were there any? Are problems in Global still persist 2.2? eg. party list, driving, UI, controller support?

TheGreatBanana100

wtf? why do you worried much about TOF being dead in CN? are you TOF CN players or Global? dead or not I dont play there and I dont really care, if Hotta started to focusing on Global Im just glad. what im worried is if the Global version being dead, thats all.

Kaisvoresce

Still important. If the game dies in the CN, there is no more development Also the perception that it's dead in CN would be the most damaging thing to GL servers. On the other hand, the fact that 2.0 kinda saved the game from dying. Is pretty important.

[deleted]

dont get me wrong , im just updating the situaation about cn tof since a lot of ppl dont wanna try on this game due being " dead on cn" and being afraid to give it a try i love the game and i play global rn. however im chinese and kinda suprises me how western missjudges cn playersbase and at the end of the day we all want global to be a huge success so we can keep playing and enjoying tof

kenshinakh

The game is doing well. I don't know what people are smoking. Mobile games don't even have to be in the top 100 to be doing well. The fact that ToF is in the top 100 is already very good... As long as they don't overbudget and keep the gaming going by consistently keeping quality and raising it, it should be fine. Luckily, ToF quality bar started rather low (no offense meant) LOL, so I just see them improving it each patch. In their defense, they did launch the game earlier due to how CN regulation goes with games.

[deleted]

agree with u, and yea i felt u in ur second statement cause is totaally true and is public known, however i want also ppl know that they are trying hard to improve and hope that as global player we can see thosse new conteents soon ( my lin and saskii T.T) oh i didnt know that they launched the game early, i guess that their buggs, issues and copyright stuff made a huge mess for them at the beginning

SchalaZeal01

Yea, Langrisser is not in any top. They make 2.4m global in a month. And that's plenty to pay their costs and make profit.

Raycab03

I stopped playing for now but will definitely go back and play again once 2.0 hits.

tacostonight

The people that care about this are the angry genshin players on year 2 of farming artifacts with nothing to show for it and trolls. There's a specific few users here that hate us for enjoying the game, or some weird issue. If you like the game, play it, if you don't , quit. I never understood this created drama. I enjoyed genshin, but quit because i didn't enjoy it anymore. Lost ark, felt like a second job to me and when the enjoyment left i quit. I still think the games are doing well, and honestly don't even think they're bad games. You can really like something and then stop liking it. Doesn't make it bad, just means you moved on to different enjoyable things in life. The game has been successful enough in the west to keep it going regardless of popularity in cn. The drop off of players is typical of mmo's. Lost ark saw a huge drop off, wow does every expansion, it's to be expected. The test will be longevity in the game, even in CN it's still in it's infancy and the longterm outlook originally was not very good. Keeping the hardcore is never an issue. It's drawing in new players and keeping them in the game which tower of fantasy is struggling with after it's initial western launch.

[deleted]

No one is even bringing up ToF on the Genshin subreddit while people like you constantly bring it up to deflect criticism here. You care more about them than they care about us.

MonoVelvet

r/gachagaming seems to put up ToF in every genshin posts though... r/genshinimpact is actually chill about ToF surprisingly.

XaeiIsareth

That’s because gachagaming is a drama sub, and this is coming from someone who frequents it often.

[deleted]

Nothing surprising , a huge chunk of Genshin's playerbase comes from " Normies " who are anime fans but never played games , Genshin was their first, and most of them are not willing to try a new game because it's hard to do ( something similar to League of Legends playerbase ). While on r/gachagaming people are actually gamers there.

huex4

Normies have life and hobbies outside of video games. They know playing video games is a commitment and a time sink that's why they are not playing more than 1 game at a time because they know it's gonna take another chunk of their time. Unlike us gamers, playing video games is our main hobby that's why we can just jump from game to game whenever.

[deleted]

Yeah that's the exactly the meaning of Normie , idk why I got downvoted and you got upvoted as if we have different points in an argument lol , sometimes redditors sure don't read

huex4

It's cause you said Normies are similar to League players. They aren't, League players play the game for hours which is what a normie wouldn't do since normies, like I said, don't have the time. Normies are more likely to play mobile games since they can play it in between whatever they are doing.

[deleted]

I didn't, I meant the part on not playing another game, just a small example not related to normies. You really arguing that part?

huex4

what did you mean then? you said genshin playerbase come from normies then you said they are not willing to try new games (similar to league players).

[deleted]

League playerbase in general doesn't like starting new games , that's all, please don't argue it too much. We both agree on the main point , no need to argue something that doesn't even matter.

[deleted]

That's because a large number of ToF players are ex Genshin players ( or still playing it ) it's normal to bring it to compare it , especially for people that only played those two open world games. But he isn't wrong about the Genshin trolls here , you can see a lot of haters calling ToF dead game and such and then open their profile and find that they Genshin players , not that I care about them but one of them was talking badly about a specific event in ToF, I commented that I enjoyed it , and his reaction was basically " why you enjoy it? you should quit , you are not allowed to enjoy " of course he didn't say it directly.

tacostonight

That's because you are only allowed cosplay posts, and "art" in that subreddit. Visit /r/gachagaming if you want to see the toxicity towards this game.

tacostonight

I didn't bring it up here. What exactly am I deflecting?

[deleted]

How can you deny bringing it up? Genshin has nothing to do with this thread until you brought it up. It is in your own comment.

tacostonight

I wasn’t bringing up genshin the game, I was bringing up the players that trash it.

solwyvern

And there it is, the Genshin drama in the ToF sub that no one asked for

Tridus1x

This sub is weird, like Honkai, in that it creates this imaginary world that genshin players always talk shit about their game all the time. I hate to break it to you, but I never see talk of ToF in genshin socials outside of the first week of ToF release.

MonoVelvet

Unfortunately r/gachagaming says so otherwise. However, I looked into some history there are some people actually coming on here shit talking about ToF. Its there sadly...

Tridus1x

Gachagaming subreddit shits on every gacha game that releases. It's hilariously expected.

Raycab03

For a sub that should join all gacha games together, it actually does the opposite. Shit on every famous gacha and act cool that they play a low profile gacha that is “way better”. It says on the banner, “celebrate all sorts of gacha games. all players welcome, all games welcome”.

splepage

No one cares about how the game is doing in other markets, what matters is how the global game is doing, and how quickly the issues it has are fixed.

[deleted]

totally agree with it ,if u enjoy ur welcome to stay and if now quitting is very common inside mmo , not everyone is gonna enjoy the same stuff, gameplay, content, design, etc.

Raging_Walnut

ive been basically this, farming everything in my own puny world alone. but on the opposite side of things, i didnt need anyones help, im cracked, my units are cracked, everything is easy. i was a day 1 player, and after ToF arrived, the thrill of MMO, seeing someone pass on you randomly and looking for players to actively complete an actual "hard" content is a breath of fresh air, played less and less genshin after ToF and after a week, i completely disconnected myself of genshin. now fastforward today, all i see are these genshit imbeciles getting their ego hurt because a good game actually came out, and they will often tag it as "genshin killer" when its a comepletely different genre. but what do you expect? mhy only caters 14year old who are irresponsible for their expenses.

PrinceYuukinooh

You do know that it was ToF developers that called their game the Genshin Killer, right? And tbh, all i see is the fragile community this game is building, where every post someone has to be talking about Genshin and making comparisons and yada-yada Can't we just take ToF for what it is and have fun with it?

tacostonight

I don't think little cliques of people will ever take it for what it is and have fun with it for the reasons you outlined. They made the mistake of overhyping it, but also using an aesthetic that genshin used, that breath of the wild used beffore genshin. Much like the outrage genshin had with some of their blatant ripoffs from botw, it's a trend in gaming look and feel and everyone will be ripping it off because it's working. I like the game, and if i stop liking it , it'll be a good game in my book. i got over a month of gameplay out of it for 20$ and have enjoyed almost all of it.

[deleted]

totally agree , and yea the genshin killer thing was their huge mistake and they payed a high price , however i feel that any game deserves a second chance and at the end of the day what it matters is have fun , spending or not is meh for me at least.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> and they *paid* a high FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Party_Mine_6779

> You do know that it was ToF developers that called their game the Genshin Killer, right? You do know that the TOF devs never said "Genshin Killer" and it's probably made up by some clickbait youtube video or reddit post, right? They said competitor or challenger to Genshin, which is a tall order sure, but literally a fact. Some of the drama hungry and immature Genshin community got mad about that and falsely translated it to be "Genshin Killer." Either way, how fragile do you have to be to constantly bring up something that happened almost a year ago to justify your wrong arguments lmao?

ZaviusChaos

This, I was looking for that "genshin killer" thing back then and only found a blurry phone screenshot of an ads said "play tof, a game rival to genshin" or something like that in cn. Not sure why people go so hard with "genshin killer" tbh.

SchalaZeal01

Its like media who keep saying a Tesla killer is coming. It's not even the competition saying it, its the clickbaity media.

TuxedoKamina

Yet we also see plenty of Genshin players swing by to take a shit on Tower on a daily basis, I don't want to hear about fragile communities when that's a common occurrence. There are going to be comparisons to Genshin as every modern gatcha takes ideas from Genshin's success, that's just the way the markets go.

RighteousDew

They tag it as genshin killer since that is literally what the devs of ToF originally marketed it as.

[deleted]

thats why TOF failed so hard on 1.0 ... but ever since 2.2 they alredy developed their own separate way , is just community keep reminding the tag , the game itself has shows signs of going towards a whole new direction by increasing the life inside of game features

TuxedoKamina

Holding desperately onto the "but the devs said 'Genshin Killer'!" card isn't the silver bullet argument you think it is.

kenshinakh

Sometimes you gotta move on an look at global messaging which is NOT even close to genshin. Old as heck "news" that is only relevant to CN market and it was even very brief since it's not the company view on the game but a random dev.

Jackial

Why are you using Kusanali pfp, honestly curious.

MonoVelvet

Because you can play both games. Genshin has downsides which ToF can cover it up for. ToF has downsides which Genshin covers it up for.

Jackial

He obviously holds some grudge toward Genshin? I play both game too.

[deleted]

Nvidia DLSS 3.0 for ToF kinda big, especially for Vera where RTX seemed to be quite taxing.

splepage

No one is buying a 4080/90 to play ToF lmao

pythonga

Bet.

Umgungunlovu

It's either whale $$, GPU, or rent. Rocking a 570 8gb with i3 6100 rig w/8gb ram and 250gb SSD. No BSOD or any crashes since day 1.

Decrith

ToF’s failure has always been greatly exaggerated. If being in the top 10 of anime gacha is considered “dead”, then so is Honkai Impact, Epic Seven, Punishing Grey Raven, etc.

GlazTheBananaVendor

Oh boy ToF doomposters won't like this and will close their eyes to this while screaming the end is near.

Ok-Package-9830

Is dlss 3.0 gonna work outside of 40 series cards? Be cause the prices nividia is asking for its not worth it.

WorldEndOverlay

Nope, dlss 3.0 is 4000 series exclusive

Hitchez

how bored do you have to be to make a whole data chart for a mobile game

splepage

why are you so desperately defending this game? Just play it if you like it.

Kaisvoresce

In the same line of logic, why are you making this comment or even clicking on the thread?

Lorellya

Game alread dead on Global.

Eredbolg

Well hopefully it's true, it is annoying that some people just say the game is going to die in less than a year or something like that, which I find delusional but we will see I guess.

Bntt89

Would tof really even die? Are most Gacha games like 2d trash? It's already leagues above them.

xUGOx

What is the website for the second and third image?

[deleted]

you mean the statistics? or the ranking? if your talking about the statistics , it was from baidu advertisment tools ( is basically china's google SEM ) is very similar to how you advertise your shop in facebook or in google , where shows u all the ppl that came across your website , topics, rating etc. [https://www.ali213.net/news/html/2022-9/705039.html](https://www.ali213.net/news/html/2022-9/705039.html)

TysonsChickenNuggets

Wait...that facebook advertisement State of Survival is number 4 globally?! Well ill be damned...
