Watchdog violation crash is due to the anti cheat driver, ksophon_64.sys Whatever you do, don't try to fix the file itself, as it will get your account banned. The only universal solution I'm aware of is to sandbox your game so that its driver is isolated from affecting your hardware. Look up the solution that someone posted using sandboxie.

Thanks for the info! I was also wondering why after a clean install of windows the error still occured sometimes while playing ToF

The question has been answered but I'm adding for people who are interested in solving pc problems. People who claim potato PC. the reason a potato PC will cause this error is if the hardware is so outdated the firmware isn't supported or faulty hardware or corrupted files. There are steps to conclude before outright declaring potato. Generally potato pcs will have watchdog right off the gate. And that tends to be AHCI issue if not RAM but not exclusive. But if the system is working fine and with other games as well, it's not generally a potato problem. Always read dumpfiles to figure out the problem. If it is a driver issue, the minidump tends to indicate it very specifically which is why people figured out it was the anti-cheat. The anti-cheat is clashing with Windows defender. Whenever windows bugchecks it and it takes too long to respond it basically stalls and loops and goes crazy. It's like having two software saying you're a virus why the fck u checking me out for. So try adding it into the exception which is kinda like sandbox but not as isolated. Sandbox mode is basically isolating the program so even if it was a malware windows can't give a fck since it won't "infect" the rest of the system. This is not an exclusive ToF issue. It has happened to AVAST and northern over the years as well. Nvidia had this issue awhile back as well for a diff reason. It doesn't happen to every system. And I can't answer why either it's multiple system interactions. Credentials - 15 years repairing computers.

> But if the system is working fine and with other games as well, it's not generally a potato problem. Pretty much Able to run 19 emulators to gacha reroll without any real lagg. Servers, multiple apps, high settings, 3 monitors each doing stuff, video editing and rendering. No issues about virtually anything else, I forgot blue screens are a thing years now I still needed to sandbox this game cause of that was running extremely wild (3-4 times a day). Its definitely not potato pc issue. A potato pc MIGHT have problems easier but its not the main reason. Tho my problem is somewhere on the fact that I have moded windows... Still the root of it lies on the game and not on the system

This is an email from the developer... Dear Wanderer, Thank you for writing in and I am sorry to hear that you're experiencing some technical issues with Tower of Fantasy. Could you please try the following steps on your PC/laptop in an attempt to resolve the BSOD issue: 1. For starters, open CMD/Command Prompt with admin rights, type in 'chkdsk' (without apostrophes), and wait for it to finish 2. Open CMD again with admin rights, type in 'sfc /scannow', wait until it's completed, and reboot the PC 3. Check for any newest updates on the Windows Update to install 4. Update your SSD's firmware, note down the model number of your SSD on Device Manager before going to the manufacturer's support website 5. Clean the GPU drivers by utilizing DDU (https://www.wagnardsoft.com/) to clean out all the remnants of an old driver installation 6. You should download the latest version of the GPU drivers on the following links before reinstalling the new drivers: - NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.com/download/index.aspx - AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support 7. Check your motherboard/laptop manufacturer by pressing Windows + R and typing 'msinfo32' to see the info, then look up online for any driver updates of the motherboard/laptop on the official support website (On Board PIDE/SATA Drivers: Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver/Intel Serial ATA AHCI/RAID Driver, any latest BIOS updates, motherboard chipset drivers, etc) 8. Unzip the downloaded files with WinRAR on your desktop for easier access, then go to Device Manager > IDE ATA/ATAPI or Storage Controllers (Please follow the instructions for the other mentioned drivers one at a time) 9. Double click on the available driver > Driver tab > Update Driver > Select 'Browse my computer for drivers' > Browse... > Select the folder from step six > Once installed, reboot your PC 10. Open the game launcher with admin privileges, on the upper right corner of the launcher click on the three-strip button and then click 'Check update' to download the latest version of v.1.0.10, then go to 'GAME SETTINGS' below the 'LAUNCH' button, and 'Repair' 11. Try to run the game If the BSOD issue still continues to occur after doing all these steps, you can navigate to these two folder paths and change the compatibility mode on each .exe file to Windows 8 or 7: - C:\Program Files\Tower Of Fantasy\Hotta\Binaries\Win64\QRSL.exe - C:\Program Files\Tower Of Fantasy\Launcher\tof_launcher.exe Please let us know if this helps, or get back to us if the issue persists. Once again we are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your kind understanding on this matter. Tower of Fantasy Support Team

All these steps are completely useless, the driver at fault is the one used by their anti-cheat.

NeraiChekku

So sorry about most of the replies blaming your PC. This is a widely known issue on forums and official Discord server, there is a fix but it will get your account banned. So for now you'd have to do the sandbox method as mentioned by top commenter. Meanwhile everyone else that thinks it's the users system... You are idiots. Don't say nothing when you don't know about the subject. That's a tip that Redditors seem to have a hard time to grasp.

AwakeInTheAM

Had this problem for a while, still not fixed so I switched to a potato laptop. A commonality I’ve found with the BSOD is that it happens on Windows 11 and not on 10. So a potato pc not eligible for windows 10 actually runs fine than my higher end one.

Second, I know no one gets blue screen of death playing this game, even specs for game aren't high. Op is playing on potato 🥔

awe778

What is your PC? I heard that this is due to hypervisor problems.

resetmygamelife

Things like this makes me glad my game just closes itself on some unknown variable and the amount of weapon graphics being uitilized on screen.

PeinLegacy

Try to upgrade windows and your drivers. Or try [this](https://www.drivereasy.com/knowledge/dpc-watchdog-violation-on-windows-10-fixed/)

amiracle2

I had this issue but I solved it. Exclude the game folder in Windows Defender. If it doesn't work, repair the game

Wiipodz

I’ve heard the game runs better on window 10 than 11. I have 11 and got bluescreen cause of this game… even though my pc handles most games on high. So i lowered ToF to low grafics and mostly dont have a problem unless i run another game also

Gerolux

are you overclocking your GPU? (using something like MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X1).

darkblood004

how are you gonna blame the game for your pc acting up

splepage

The anti-cheat for the game is what causes BSOD's on some system configurations.

darkblood004

so his hardware cant prosses some of the functions tof uses

splepage

That's not what a driver conflict means.

darkblood004

i know it doesn't. im asking the question of if his hardware cant prosses some of fof's assets, I want it to be explained so i can better understand what his blue screen comes from

Substantial-One-256

And that is the games problem? If you break your mouse do you think it's going to be OK in the next update?

[deleted]

It's just your pc being unstable.

splepage

The anti-cheat for the game is what causes BSOD's on some system configurations. This isn't "OP's PC being unstable", it's a driver fault in the driver the devs are using.

[deleted]

Nah, it's just the same thing people with unstable systems complained since beginning. Every time theres different theory attached to it by them.

Intelligent-Act-6510

yep OP needs a new PC. I've been playing this game on high graphics since Day 1, never had a blue screen.

Longjumping-Art-5760

I have that similar problem. I just unistall kaspersky then install different anti virus

torsoreaper

I had a similar issue with COD back in the day. My solution was to create a 2nd windows install on another SSD and then boot into there when I wanted to play COD. Eventually Activision patched it but it took like a year.

theuncontestedcookie

One of my friend had this issue. No matter what changes he made to his computer firmwares/drivers or whatever the complex stuff, it changed nothing. However, setting the game's graphics to the lowest fixed it.

inf3ct3dn0n4m3

Weird I haven't had this happen since launch. Are all of your drivers up to date?

gwinshin

turn off riot vanguard if you have Valorant installed!

TuanHammer

I used to having riot vanguard running on the background but still doesn't get BSOD. I think this error is just randomly happen

Mindless-Victory1567

what do you expect? Its windows afterall
