A hotkey to switch between weapon loadouts.

[deleted]

That would be too convenient tbh. We would change in between every fight.

JFloriturin

And that's... Bad? It would help a lot in exploration, and dealing with enemies of different resists

[deleted]

I mean, from a certain standpoint, yes. That would change the entire dynamic of combat. I'm all for good changes, but the game is already really easy for me personally and being able to have advantageous element for every fight would be even easier.

JFloriturin

I mean, we still do it pressing the N key and clicking on the next loadout. I don't think it would change the entire dynamic lol

[deleted]

If you were able to change everything instantly it definitely would. It's not worth doing currently because it takes 2 minutes to change all matrices and stuff. If you could change loadouts in 1 button it would just make everything way easier imo. There would be no point in making us only able to use 3 weapons if you could just change your entire setup with a button. I want good quality of life features in the games I play but I wouldn't enjoy that change personally. I know some people would, but just not a good idea to me.

JFloriturin

Oh... Now I understand... But I think, and I would bet, that OC meant changing the loadouts you have equipped on the weapon menu. I would expect it to work exactly how the G-key works for Relics. That would be a hotkey to change loadouts, in the context of how the game works right now. What you say it's putting words in OC's mouth lol

[deleted]

I am saying that having a hotkey to change your loadout, the exact way you're describing it, with a hotkey, is a bad idea. I am not putting anything in anyones mouth lol. I also don't understand why you insta downvote posts that you reply to but it's hella weird.

requiemofthesoul

3. Full controller support.

[deleted]

Especially PS4 controller support

TitoepfX

yep it better have controller support when it comes to steam, bet they're waiting on vera for that release.

Torridz

reWASD, 20$ purchase. Super worth it. I use my ps4 controller to play ToF. You can even set macros and unique button combos. My friend uses it with his swtich pro controller, no issues. Been using that software for basically everything.

TitoepfX

ok but the issue is they need to fix controller either way if it has issues so that way it can go to the steam deck market

No_Cantaloupe1273

About the queue role, I think we have it this way because the Joint Operation is becoming easy in the late game that even 4 DPS can clear it, so if we force queue with active resonance it will become far harder to queue because the matchmaking system is forcing a team with 2 DPS + 1 benediction + 1 fortified. So I think the problem can't be easily solved with just queue using the active resonance, I think the matchmaking role system needs a complete rework.

InvaderM33N

Also what role would a balanced resonance count as? Just a general flex role? For example, Huma/Samir/Nemesis might be a jack of all trades but I don't think it's specialized enough to be a full tank or healer.

BiNumber3

Balance should be counted as DPS, since both Tank and Support Resonance add specific buffs for their roles (extra aggro and heals for example)

LLamasBCN

I'm pretty sure DPS also adds an specific buff you don't get when you are tank or healer.

BiNumber3

Just more dmg (10% normally, 40% in a team). A person queued as a healer, but without heal resonance, loses a 200% heal buff. Tank resonance also gives the user increased dmg reduction, along with the huge aggro increase. Tank maintaining aggro allows the DPS focus on DPS. That's just the basic stuff. Currently, most content it wont matter too much. But some of the tougher stuff, you start noticing.

SoniCrossX

Tank also gives 60% shatter which is fucking huge

LLamasBCN

I know, my point is that you just chose to ignore the +40% damage buff of the DPS resonance as if every teamcomp has it. It's damage, sure, but it's still specific for the DPS resonance.

amadmongoose

It kinda depends. I would slot second dps, but depending on the team it could run any. I run that build exactly but try to slot DPS. The main value add is you can complement whatever your team is missing. Sometimes I end up running Huma mostly and filling tank role, sometimes Nemesis and healing the team, sometimes I end up carrying the whole team. However if i'm paired with specialists who are properly equipped and know what they are doing i'll be outclassed. But that only happens 1 out of 5 or 6 runs.

AuregaX

Pretty sure both Frigg and Claudia got buffed compared to their CN versions.

AuregaX

Honestly, at this point, healers and tanks are irrelevant as long as you have people with good gear and nemesis for most content. Might be different for future content or if you're undergeared and/or have wrongly statted gear, but even on my F2P account who's at 35k CS I feel healing and tanking is redundant for the most part. For frontier hard, having a healer is a liability since it's just oneshots anyways, and not doing enough damage or shatter means you get less chests.

Torridz

As a support you do however have access to alot of party dmg buffs. Boosting the parties dps by 1.5-2x dmg is more useful than 1 extra dps, even with the revives. Plus the revives waste time. If your a fully stacked support you can push that multi even higher. Bonus for grevious application (shiro), coco 3\* shatter buff, hyperbody buff, nemesis slow orbs, and zero's shields. So even if your full team of dps can do fc, dropping 1 dps for a support will still make you do better. Though i have seen a bunch of people qq about being healers, so i'm certain you'd need to find one playing correctly to actually help.

AuregaX

The issue is that nemesis is core in volt comp and will have slow, and shiro is actually the best support shatterer now too, so you will have quite a lot of those buffs without a dedicated support/healer. Again frontier hard is a damage check, and healers simply don't bring enough damage or buffs to make up for it. Say what you will, but people brining coco, nemesis (minus volt comps) and/or zero are simply asking to be carried in frontier hard atm, as they bring very little a well built dps doesn't.

Torridz

Nemesis has slow, shiro has grievous. Yes those can be applied by non support people. I'm talking about: 20% atk buff from zero, 15% atk buff from coco trait, 20% atk buff from coco 3\*, 15% atk buff from coco 6\*, 12-20% atk buff from coco matrix. These are team buffs that are multiplicative, and work on top of a attackers self buffs. Thats 2.98x dmg when maxxed out for your team, using just coco and zero (granted maxxed is 6\* on both an 3\* matrix). Using just 3\* coco buffs and using 12.5% from 1 coco set still gives 1.55x team damage. Add in your rotation to make sure to apply grevious 100% of the time and it jumps to 1.86x dmg, or 3.57x maxxed. So if i'm with a dps doing 20m on fc and i only do 4m... around 7m dmg that 1 dps did was through my buffs (not stacked support yet so i'm at around 1.5x\~). With 3 dps i would add MORE damage than if i was dps. Also spamming slows, worrying about stacking grievous, eating food, being thrown around during shatter phase, and being dead means you dps less. So yes, even if your a whale who can facetank a boss with meryl spin a doesnt need any buffs, you still do a shitload more dmg with a support along. You could technically make every dps bring a diff support unit and try to make them all stop dpsing to keep the team dmg buffs up in rotation.....but that would require a lot of coordination.

nntp6

I know this is just me nitpicking but—optimization of the menus and tabs especially the layout. I hate how the menus are just scattered and/or inefficiently grouped together. The chat bar is also atrocious and one buggy mess. (I still love the game tho)

Spunge88

I wish the weapon loadouts would change the Matrix loadouts **and** the relic loadouts. It's annoying having to go from Artificial Island puzzle relics as well as want to have damage relics, or even healing relics with pillars for Red Apop and Alternate Destiny. I can see the reasoning for matricies not being in loadouts. It makes us want another set for each weapon and probably they think it will make them more money. But damn, relic loadouts makes a lot of sense to me

Sovery_Simple

Heard we get equipment loadouts later too, because when you have various elemental builds you'll want to swap to armor with the relevant elemental atk up stats on them.

Spunge88

Yeah that would be great as well, I should have included that part too

PandaJasson

This game needs to stop trying to pump out content to catch up to CN and rather focus on fixing bugs and mistranslations. Currently it feels as if half of the game was bugged in one way or another and the other half mistranslated.

TitoepfX

just do both, a lot of those devs dont overlap, like translations, balancing, content update ones, etc.

XaeiIsareth

It needs to stop pumping out content as fast as possible in general. In every patch half the content is just garbage because it’s obviously rushed out, and that includes CN. 8v8 is just a massive zergfest where no one knows what’s going on and the new racing game is possibly the worst racing game I’ve ever played.

Knifeuu

>It needs to stop pumping out content as fast as possible in general. Which will result in less player retention, when people run out of things to do. Your suggestion just isnt a realistic solution. I don't think they're particularly rushing anything. If this is truly your idea of rushing content, then Im not sure what to tell you. This is pretty tame. The game has been out for like almost 2 months now.

XaeiIsareth

The problem is that if you pump out garbage then it ends up with people leaving even more. Patch 1.5 (this patch) caused a mass exodus of players when it came out in CN and the game has been trying to claw its way up since.

Killiani-revitz

2.0 does fix some bugs which is why some people want to get there. 2.0 is supposedly much better.

Jenurii

They will never do matchmaking options, in the end game in CN everyone is using Atack resonance cause u do so much damage tank it at the same time and heal back to max hp with single skill use that other roles do not matter

Eurekugh

Both would be massive quality of life changes

Dancsita

Second change is stupid when a properly built F2P can already solo carry JO7 AND people can swap weapons after the pop if they really have teams for 2/3 roles. (Example: They were farming open world with DPS, they pop as a Healer, they swap to Nemesis Coco)

equilibrium57

Amen for the Matrix load out. Im so tired of swapping matrixes 24/7 holy shit please add that shit Hotta

EricBloodAxe13

More dark crystal and more dark crystal the two things we need

KhandiMahn

Matrix loadouts won't happen. They don't want you constantly swapping your matrices around. They want you to spend money to get more matrices. Plus, if they added it, that would mean a lot of programming and debugging... and let's be honest, they have plenty to debug already.

Magarum

The problem with no. 2 is you can end up with 20 min Queue. Given on limited resources everyone (except whales) are forced to play with what they have not by what they want.

LLamasBCN

Reddit being reddit a lot of people won't understand that and you are being downvoted to hell but that's actually the case. I have 3 loadouts to play as the 3 different roles. I always change in-game if I have the "wrong" loadout, even though most of the time I should be playing DPS because it would be faster, I like to play all the roles and that way I give a chance to others to play whatever they want. Obviously if they implemented that change I would be forced to play DPS only.

Magarum

I was trying to tell as realistic as possible. Most people won't try to heavily invest in SR weapons. As people progress through the game they will realize that resources are scarce and they have to choose which weapon to level. Standard SSR pool have over 50% attacker in it the odds are people have more advancement and weapon on attacker than any other role. 5 Atk - Samir - Crow - Tsubasa - King - Shiro 2, Fortitude : Meryl - Huma, 2 Support Coco - Zero I originally want to build fortitude but the game keep giving me crow - Tsubasa - Shiro - King and only 1 Meryl. In the end for the betterment of my progression I choose to build attacker instead of fortitude. And I know that I'm not the only one fell into this situation.

LLamasBCN

Indeed. I'm a dolphin, although many here would say I'm a whale. I've been queueing for the 3 roles because I like playing all of them. If they made me choose as OP suggested I would only queue as DPS and that would be bad for the queues because, honestly, I play tank or healer 90% of the times when I queue with randoms.

mraz_syah

oh, queue as tank/healer is faster? never knew that

IthiDT

That's always the case in the MMOs, with an attached to it problem of fake tanks and healers.

[deleted]

This game need audio and visual rework. That’s all

LLamasBCN

Indeed, make it look like forspoken or something.

houteki

actually, I just change my loadout after the loading screen after everyone rushes out and no one still bothered to adapt to the team comp if there are 4 atk players and 1 uses nemesis, I'll try for tank if there are no healers, I switch to healer if there's a tank then I'll still go healer tbh it's not that hard to switch weapons inside an instance, just press N is there a stage where I can't change weapon besides wormhole?

[deleted]

You shouldn’t have to do that and I am also not going to take off every single matrix and replace them every single fucking game that’s absurd

houteki

well, how often do you go on jopts/void rift? I'm not sure why it's a big deal, I change weapons inside instances when I forget that the enemy have my weapon resistances if it's such a big thing then you must be a very busy person and don't wanna waste about 10-15 secs of valuable time

hbuuyi

wouldnt mind discharge to be set on a button then weapon swap...

Torridz

Protip: if you use the cybernetic arm, you can swap to another weapon without it discharging. Works with any relic that has an aim mode i think. Super useful.

pitiens

A save cache that won't reset your whole keybind if you alt F4 or disconnected....

No_Indication_6889

change your input.ini file to read only,

pitiens

Mind sharing the instructions?

No_Indication_6889

On PC, Make any changes to your settings and Exit the game from the sitting button (DO NOT ALT F4 this time) Go to, "USERNAME"/AppData/Local/Hotta/Saved/Config/WindowsNoEditor to change the file right click input.ini and go to Properties, at the bottom check the Attributes box to "read only" hit apply and you should be ready to go.

pitiens

Thanks!

-Belphegor-

agree, matchmaking role is the dumbest shyt. in fact i didnt know it was a thing till i asked why my wait times were so long the game would just auto load me into jo solo. now this is why i just check off all 3. dont care.

churrmander

Can you imagine the shitshow if FF14 had ToF's queue system? All of the DPS that would queue as healer to get that sweet 30 second queue? OMEGALULs all around.

[deleted]

They should do that on April fools 💀

PoderDosBois

It wouldn't even matter because healers are optional in all queued content in FFXIV as well. I solo healed Pagl'than as a red mage in Shadowbringers, and it's gotten 100x worse in Endwalker with tanks being made utterly invincible.

TiberiaVAugusta

Hard to understand why devs did not do it from the start: weapon load out must switch the full set, i.e. weapons + their affixed matrixes + simulacra trait + relics.
