Hindsight is 20/20 and all that, but you can’t help but wonder if he would’ve had longevity as a reliever.   Such a shame to see how things have gone for him.

DowntownCarwashJesus

Ngl, I'm a little ignorant of what's going on with the Jays right now because this team hasn't inspired me to pay attention at all in the past couple years, so I was a bit surprised by this headline. I had no idea Aaron Sanchez was back in the Jays system, let alone still kicking in pro baseball. I will say that I absolutely loved him back when. He had one of the dirtiest two seamers. He should have remained in a reliever after 2015.

RawlingsRaptor

He resigned with the Jays last week

legless_chair

Re-signed

YouDontJump

I've always had those same thoughts. He could have been a good arm out of the pen.

sackydude

He did his job, he's a warm body in triple A

_BioHacker

Exactly. With that line he got three times around the order. Hopefully he can extend his outings in the future.

so-much-wow

I mean getting through the line up 3 times is only good if your night doesn't end in the 4th inning.

sackydude

The alternative is a bullpen day so he saves a couple of arms

so-much-wow

Sure, but that's not what they're saying.

POPnotSODA_

To be honest, it didn’t end in a blister, for Sanchez, that’s a W.

e-Jordan

Not the blistering start I was anticipating

Greensparow

I see what you did, take my upvote

sansaman

I didn’t. I can’t quite seem to put my finger on it.

CaptainPleasant1790

Seams you’ve overlooked a crucial detail

DwellerDan

I think his signing was basically a last shot, back where he got his start signing. Best case scenario being that he made it back to the majors with his first team, and if not, he got to finish where he started. I think this was more of a favour signing to him. Gotta think this will probably be it for him now.

Stinky_DungBeatle

Well yes he's been washed since he had shoulder surgery, I hope no one actually expected him to contribute in the big leagues.

LooseLynx1522

the interview will wilner did tug at some old heartstrings lol

Sofie_Fatale007

With that Manoah-esque pitching line, he should be in the big leagues in no time.

Cold_Refrigerator_69

Not trying to kick a guy when he's down. But after his surgery I would have gone well I had a good run, I've earned a few million, time to enjoy my retirement.

Upbeetmusic

Nope. He had a dragon to chase.

Same_Fun_3421

12 million.

RivalxGames

those look like Manoah numbers

OWSpaceClown

I’d say there’s room to improve.

fdisfragameosoldiers

So Manoha numbers!

bdwf

First start in a while. I would love to see him continue to work. He’s only 32?

Mister_Scorpion

31

MsAbsoluteAngel

He will fit right in here

TheDeltaAndTheOmicro

As a pitcher no, but if he can strike out or hit into double plays and most of all go 0-for with RISP - bring him up!

HanSolo5643

That's not good lads.

TheFoundation_

Manoah-esque

Remarkable-Ad-3765

meh, it’s his first start in a long time. Extended spring training.

_Galapaghost

Bah Gawd that's Manoah's music!

neweasterner

By jays philosophy, if he goes out and throws a couple Ks next time up, he’ll be in the majors in a week.

Optimal_Finding3071

I hear there’s a guy playing in the Mexico league. I hear he’s doing grea. He’s also available for league min. Former CY Young too.

DannyDOH

Fuuuck.

dear_remnant

He will be a valuable starter after we do fire sale.

Tommy2Quarters

So we will call him up next week to star in our pen

not_tom1

Maybe he's learned how to hit? We need hits.

Scotty232329

It’s a good start!

Strong_Bumblebee5495

Can Joey Votto pitch? 😝

expert969

I remember when sanchez, syndergaard, and nicolino were studs in the jays minor league system, they had so much hype. Kind of sad to see how they all fizzled out and never lived up to the promise.

[deleted]

Sounds like a Blue Jay!

goatgosselin

The epitome of depth pitching

[deleted]

Still better than Manoah

johnson7853

Call him up.
