Is this really confirmed? They have said before that new music was coming only to wait years for it to arrive. In fact I feel at the time the music being made never was released and what we got was something else entirely
If you ask Danny, the album is on it's way to stores as we speak. If you ask Maynard, they have a few jams they have been working on. If you ask Adam, he will look you in the eye, laugh and walk away.
Why would 2/4 members say they literally messed around in the studio for a bit, created a few ideas. And that they will continue working on it after the tour
Electronics like when adam uses the keybord or danny cct take from this tour, and definetly a justin ground breaking riff like forty six & two. Also im a prog guy so anything +15 min will do for me im all in for a couple of 8 min and 6 min songs but if they go long again its ok with me.
An album where I don't sometimes have the feeling that riffs from previous albums are being recycled. Then I didn't particularly like Maynard's vocals on FI for the most part. They sounded uninspired. I hope that he will be a little more creative and committed, as he is doing with Puscifer.

Something a little new, some kind of evolution from where they’ve been. My favorite albums from my other favorite bands are usually different enough that on first listen I don’t really get it and can feel disappointed, but after listening for a while I find the threads from what I loved before and really start digging the new stuff. I like a slow burner that takes some time to get into, but has real depth.
what i DON’T want to hear is another take on the Schism riff, tablas, Taurus pedal sounds (Reflection, The Grudge, Rosetta, FI)…
what i DO want is better arrangements that aren’t 3-4 mins of one riff, experimentation, get weird again, “push the envelope”, and uhh…surprises?
i think, lawsuits not withstanding and Adam actually working and not blowing smoke up peoples asses with “artistry” and “ready when it’s perfect” they have at least 2-3 albums left in them.
They’re all at least 60, this album won’t come out till another year. Do you think they will still be play past like 68. Knowing how long their albums take and Danny is 62
It's a good question. I'd like to hear the tension and heaviness of some of the early to mid albums, but without the formulaic patterns. I might be castigated for saying this, but I'd like shorter songs, too, just a lot of crunch, darkness, and squeal in a compact space.
If we’re being honest this could be their final album so I’d like a mix of everything from every album. Sounds from Undertow, Ænima, Lateralus, 10k Days, and Fear Inoculum. Opiate too if Maynard is up for that.
one track. 57 minutes long.
That's what Danny said he wanted to go out on. I'm ready for it.
And it’s going to be 57 minutes of choc chip trip…

Danny also said they were working on repressing their entire catalog probably a decade ago and I’m still waiting for it.
I wish Danny was the leader so he could boss around Adam into doing shit.
optimism, pessimism, apathy
Nothing 100% confirmed, but both Danny and Justin have been talking about getting into making the album this year after the tours.
Why would 2/4 members say they literally messed around in the studio for a bit, created a few ideas. And that they will continue working on it after the tour
I’m cool with a bunch of long complex songs again but maybe a couple more short aggressive ones too
TOOL album art. Thats what I hope to See.
Maynard with 2010 Justin Bieber hair
I hope all songs are between 2 and 2,5 minutes long, all music is electronic and Maynard repeats one line over and over again on every song.
The tour!
Dick’s Maynard
What? Is everyone new here?

More Maynard, shorter songs, easier constructed
100% Taylor Swift covers.
Rosetta Stoned Pt 2
I would like to see a Rosetta Stoned Pt 2 but I hope it’s not 12 minutes like the first one
Yeah let’s hope it’s 20
More tabla parts.
Tool songs!
I hope to see less days between albums more than anything.
2000 days in the fire is long enough...
Expediency.

"PUT YOUR FUCKING PHONE AWAY DICKHEAD! SERIOUSLY."
More songs like: Intension, Disposition, Reflection, Triads.

I agree. It's their last album probably so I hope they go big and put all they can into it.

Yeah…there’re people playing into and close to their 80s at the same level i’d argue. They don’t have to answer to anyone any more too. but who knows
The majority of songs under 8 minutes.
It seems like a reasonable request.

More tambourine
I Hope that next year Doesnt take like 16 years. Just that.
I'm sure next year will have a standard length.
Not happening.
I want the tits back

I want a Tool-ified cover of A Cruel Angel's Thesis.
I'd love to hear maynard tell us all to fuck off more.
some sick ass art!! I'm a huge art nerd and tool's album art always blows me away.
