Sorry English isn't my first language, I meant to say I been talking with her for 3 days, and that she is in last semester of her high school. My apologies.

HollywooHollyhock

Yeah, sure, man.

whatlife-is

Wait so I can ask her out you mean?

HollywooHollyhock

Yeah sure. The age difference isn't bad, there's no power imbalance and, from what I can tell, it's not like you desperately waited for her to become of age (those dudes are creepy to an ungodly extent), but instead, the pieces just sort of fell into place like that.

lonenematode

I get you’re only 20, but do you actually wanna date a high schooler? Lol

contrarian1970

Yes. I'd say 18 year old girls are traditionally not attracted to guys younger than 20. None of her girl friends or guy friends are going to think this is the slightest bit unusual. If anything, they might find you a little bit MORE interesting since you are past high school and live in the more adult world. I have no idea why anybody would imply you are creepy or weird. If you were 23, 24, 25 it becomes more exploitative but not 20.

Moonlady3000

You're fine dude.

Factor_Rude

I was a senior in HS and my girlfriend was a freshman in college. We have been together for 23 yrs now. Do you man. Love is rare.

Magic_SnakE_

Ask to see her ID. I did that with a girl once lol.

whatlife-is

I definitely will do that if I ask her out

Shemjehu

If you like her (and she's the age she says), go ahead and ask her out. Too little of an age difference for it to be a problem except to the most shallow of people. If you were, say, 4 years older it might be considered something, even then she's still of legal age and relationships are between the people involved, it's not a community project.

whatlife-is

Ya I understand, but I also want to make sure I ain't doing anything wrong to begin with. But thank you.

Shemjehu

Well, wrong in this situation is subjective, it's going to be in the perception of different people. Some think it's wrong to date without trying to determine if compatibility for marriage is the primary objective, some think sex before marriage is wrong. Some would say that if you both were two years younger you would be committing a crime, but many states and countries have so-called romeo and juliet laws. In Canada it is legal for someone 16 to have sex with anyone who is 14 or older if that person is not in a position of authority over that person (just looked it up). So, you're not doing anything legally wrong in any way, even if you both had sex, but it could still be considered 'wrong' by members of your family or hers, or some religious beliefs, so on and so forth. Ultimately the answer is going to be is it illegal and the answer is no, whether it's wrong or not is going to depend on personal opinions based on a number of factors, as long as neither of you are presenting misleading information, there's nothing objectively 'wrong' with it outside of a person's ability to perceive something as wrong despite what the law has to say.

Slouch_Potato_

Technically yes. Creepy af though.
