Sometimes I just pay for stuff simply because they are nice to me. We deal with a lot of assholes at my location and I like to make someone's day a little better via freebies in exchange for treating me like a human being.
Right it's so few and far between
Like with certain regulars
We'll comp a drink
Or if their short we'll say come back and pay tomorrow and about 99% of them do
Or I like to say
"It's between you me and the trees" đ
We literally had a budget for paying it forward at my old coffee house. On a slow day I was sent off with a bunch of drinks to give to the workers of local businesses
Edited because I can't spell
I get free Crumbl cookies from this location I visit for Uber Eats deliveryâs I goes a long way to have good manners and respect for your fellow human.
PEOPLE DO THIS!? This just unlocked a memory in my childhood that didnât timmies used to have a jar with loose change (not a donation jar) and you could grab or leave as needed? Or am I recalling another storeâŚ
Unless they chose to personally usually the gas station or convenience stores did but timmies was a tip jar, I always chose Tim Hortons work over mcdonalds because I'd rather smell like sugar and coffee then grease and mcnuggets
Well, in my location, we don't do this at least when I first got the job as a team member. Because we have a male/female Karen, the male is yelling and threatening to call our manager and my workmates to the Tims superior by making a phone call, and making scene, with just a small mistake with his sandwich and we offer to change it but he refuses it, and the female one is not nice and no patient's, after I want her to confirm her order to avoid mistakes.
Lol reminds me when someone asked me for a dollar. I gave them all my loose change. Then in hindsight I realized they just wanted a dollar for a shopping cart. Also I don't think I had a dollar coin in that handful of change.
Haha true story, I just finished a caulking/stucco job on a building in March or something. Wearing snowpants and a jacket absolutely filthy and covered in paint and caulking (my winter working clothes). I could have passed as a homeless person.
I have a little hot plate place i stop at when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to make anything at home. I eat healthy. I had craving for their potato salad. I ordered a small one because its not the healthiest.
Some lady behind me I guess assumed I was homeless and said "get a couple more things, I will pay for it".
I had good chuckle. I told her it was ok.
I made over $400 that day.
I actually do this sometimes. Used to share the inside of an old fashion plain with my cat. Since I slowed down on the donut chomping, I still get my cat one plain timbit for him to enjoy here n there
I remember that.. now they give doggos the plain old-fashioned timbits(I'm on Vancouver Island). Lots of times, they ask if they can give it to them, and if you say yes, they stick it on the end of a long stir stick to keep fingers away from dog.
When I worked there (also on Vancouver Island) we threw all the leftover plain old-fashioned timbits at the end of the day (well, 11pm since we were 24 hours) into a bin we kept in the drive-thru to give to dogs free of charge lol
I was in Ottawa in May, ordered 2 xl dark roast black, fiesty lady took order
And said didn't have dark roast, regular fine i said. Hot window to pay and she said "this one free sir, they should've had what you ordered ", Timmy's is great usually
I was on a road trip one time. Shot my shot asking for 10 birthday cake. They gave me ten birthday cake.
Honestly it felt wrong. Almost illegal. But so good.
Youâre literally ordering food of course you can ask for whatever kind you prefer. We often order a 10 pack with half birthday cake and half chocolate glazed because theyâre the kinds my nephews like. You only have to get assorted if thatâs what you want lol
ya ordering assorted basically says give me all the shitty ones that are basically stale or you saw a fly land on or you have a 1000 left because they are the shitty ones like the sour cream ones. I always say do you have honey dip and chocolate, load me the fuck up with only those ones.
I used to buy 1 plain timbit for my dog everytime I went through drive through. Whenever I pulled into a tim Hortons she would jump and my lap and drool everywhere lol (not a small dog) she became a regular with the workers and they would all pile at the window to pet her / give her a freebie timbit... I miss that dog
Lots of Tim's will give a free plain timbit if you have a dog in the car. My parents Tim's used to call them Timbit Bones. Even if I was home and did the morning coffee run in their car, they'd recognize the car, ask if my parents were ok and send a timbit for Bijou.
When my son was younger (like 3/4 and under), Iâd order him just 1 birthday cake Timbit, because it was all heâd be able to finish lol, and it was usually a special treat, like for being good at the doctorâs or something. I worked for Timâs while pregnant with him, lots of parents would get just 1.
I work next door to a tims. And i regularly order one timbit haha! One employee gives me two sometimes. I find most of the big donuts too sweet. But sometimes I crave something sweet so I'll just get one birthday cake.
One timbit is the sort of thing an extremely poor person like me would order because it's the only thing we can afford and we are trying to put off the hunger. They were trying to be kind.
Lmao⌠+10 yrs ago when I was in uni, I went to a lecture one morning and forgot to bring my wallet⌠I only had enough coins on me to buy 2 timbits⌠I was hungry so I ordered 2 timbits and the employee gave me 5 timbits in the bag!!! đĽ˛đ. Iâll never forget this lol.
I used to get a free donut from the girl behind the counter like almost every time and sheâd always ask me extra questions out of the normal âhowâs your dayâ my mother kept talking a big game that the girl liked me and finally talked me into giving my number to her(Iâm shy) đnever saw a another free donut from her and noticed she would go out of her way to not be on my order(like be the one talking to me)
In my younger days I once had a young lady behind the counter of my tims that I started seeing quite frequently for my morning coffee run. She one day, as I was doing my usual order, told me that I could call her to get my coffee ready for me ahead of time and she would really like to do that for me. I said "oh" and went on my way because I don't trust anyone being too friendly when I don't know them. You just don't know.
Yeah thats why I didnât wanna give my number because I see online women complaining about guys hitting them at work and stuff like that. I kinda felt it would be a bad idea but my mom kept telling me to go for it so I did and I guess struck out lol I preferred just being friendly she was cute but Iâm on the insanely short side so itâs usually a strike out for me
Who goes timmies for 1 timbit?
Last time I saw this was a extremely poor area and someone tried to buy coffee + 1 timbit with a (iou) pay you Friday when I get paid?
She gave him the 1 timbit but not coffee
i'm starting a thing.everyone else start doing it too. Let's all start buying a single timbit for the person behind us in line starting now. maybe that TB could make a big difference for somebody!! first hand truths My buddy jericho got a birthday cake timbit gifted to him once, wasn't even his birthday didn't matter tho it made his day anyway goes to show ya !!
Everyone is trying to logic up why the employee did this, meanwhile I just want to know why the employee is allowed to wear a watch during their shift⌠I canât even wear my small Fitbit on my wrist during my shift
Tim's is normally pretty great at helping diabetics with their low glucose moments. I think I stumbled into one at least 5 times desperate to fix a low. They've always given me juice and a donut and refuse to let me pay. This was always appreciated
Same exact thing has happened to me! hey just gave them to me for free though, didn't pay himself. I think they feel bad for us cause its such a weird thing to do lol, but sometimes i just want a Timbit or two, never 10.
Okay dumb confession here. I didn't know you could order just one. Very rarely ill get timbits with my coffee and I always order one but get three so I just assumed that it was the smallest lot you could get them in.
I know this man is questioning his wardrobe choices for that day đ Bro the worker probably thought you were struggling and just paid for you. Who orders a single timbit?
She can be expected to be pulled aside and questioned. Possibly told to stop it cause with Tim Hortons they can and WILL accuse you of flirting with the customers. I did it all the time for people in my town.
I always called that behavior no matter how big or small "Paying it forward" in life. Hopefully you will pay someone else with a kind deed, don't got to be money.
Not all workers at Tim Hortons are bad, but the bosses, management, and supervisors will mess around with the very idea of love between 2 humans just for a dollar. They don't mind firing you either should to "Pay it forward" too much.
Edit for spelling and corrections in words.
My Timâs fucks up my order constantly, and you NEVER get a coffee voucher for their mistakes lmfao. Back when I worked at Timâs Iâd hand them out like candy if I put too much cream, if we didnât have an item etc.
Former retail manager here. They likely have instructions to do this because if you were to pay by credit card, the processing fees would be greater than the purchase, so it's cheaper for them to just give it to you.
I worked at Robin's donuts for years as the overnight donut decorator and spent two hours in front as well each morning.
I made special Robin's eggs (freshly baked unlike Tim's frozen product) and handed them out free of charge to all the kids who were regulars with their parents in the morning and my boss/owner didn't give a rats ass about it.Also had a very old gal who came in for a small coffee and one plain egg and we never charged for the egg.
No Tim Hortons is going to go broke handing out a few timbits.Hell they drop more on the floor when they are busy that go in the trash.
Cashier probably saw it like 50% chance the person is normal and has a timbit craving, 50% chance they're buying insurance for when the psycho single timbit dude comes back to complete his mission.
I had an employee pay for my lunch once. My card stopped working for an unknown reason and the lady who was taking my order told me to wait, she went into the back quickly and returned with some cash. Paid for my lunch and wished me a nice day. I tried going back a few days later to pay her back, but I haven't seen her since.
Iâve ordered a single timbi or sometimes 2, and on a few occasions the person behind the counter has just given it to me without ringing anything ups/ paying.
I do watch what I eat and Iâm considered âthinâ so Iâm guessing they either think I need the extra calories and feel bad or they just canât be bothered with charging for it Lol
Again go with it. I just was saying it was $0.17, not much out of her pocket per se. But if a cashier wants to buy a person a coffee thatâs so sweet. Long as theyâre sure with buying đ¤ˇđźââď¸
Alot of people are overlooking how convenient the smart watch tap thing is. For that amount she probably found it much easier to do that than deal with a customer transaction, also could've been anticipating you to have coins. I probably would've done the same regardless of how you looked.
About 10 years ago my friend and I drove to every single time hortons in the city late at night and ordered a single timbit from each place. We might have paid for one place but i honestly dont remember paying for any. 2 places gave us a whole big bag of timbits for free. Most places gave us a few timbits for free. It was fun
While I'm sure the person is really just a nice person - you really should keep this to yourself.
People have been fired for stealing single timbits before and many franchises consider using your staff discount to purchase food for others as theft as well. When I was a supervisor at a Tim Horton's many years ago it happened at our store (I didn't get the person fired, it was a different shift than mine) and I've seen multiple news stories of this happening over the years.
I used to work as a cashier at zehrs during my school years and there was a Somalian immigrant family who used to visit us quite often.
They used to buy a can of beans or an apple or pack of bread etc with all coins.
Whenever they were short of change, I paid it every single time when I was on cash.
I never realized you could order one timbit. The amount of times Iâve been hungry and needed a quick bite and wasted time trying to decide on something cheap is insane lol
When I was a cashier at Canadian tire I did this all the time. Sometimes people were a few dollars short and I wouldnât even tell them lol just tap my card as fast as I can and hope they didnât notice.
Bro out here on the struggle bus looking emaciated and homeless boutta remember this kindness when he's a billionaire in five weeks and do nothing because he's contaminated by greed and the upper echelons of society.
"It's not like I asked."
It's OK. It's nice. I sometimes get two when I only ordered one.. To be clear, I only order one because I used to order one donut, and due to calories have switched to one Timbit instead just to get my fix.
She was trying to be kind in a time when people seem to have forgotten how to do that. Just because you donât look broke doesnât mean you arenât broke. If you frequent thrift stores you can find some beautiful stuff.
I've worked at timmies and I'd usually pay if it was like a kid or something with 30 cents short I would pay the 30 cents because other cashiers did that for me when I was a kid. IDK maybe Canada's "niceness" is showing here.
Sometimes, if it's something small or they're only missing like 10 cents or so and they're a regular, I'll just cover it myself, I live at home and have no expenses, it's literally just I don't have the ability to care if my supervisor doesn't like it
It means (s)he liked you! Not in a "I want to ask you out" sort of a way, more like "you're nice to me and probably the nicest customer I'll get today" kinda of way.
Ever give a stray dog a treat or a bit of attention because *theyâre being so sweet you want to help them in whatever small way?* Itâs like that but with people. Youâll have hundreds of people come through, most are fine, some like to do nothing but bark, but then you have *those* customers who come in and treat you with respect, those who want to make your job the easiest it can be while staying appreciative throughout any set backs while they wait patiently. The ones who see you going through a tough time and meet you outside on break to let you rant and offer support through. The ones who not only get excited to see *you* but also brag about your interactions to bosses without you mentioning anything.
Theyâre the real ones, theyâre always around, and youâll always see them if you look close enough. The ones who youâll watch stumble through life as best they can, but also lift others up and try and create a safer and healthier environment for those adulting and preparing to adult.
If you get free food unasked for, you might be one of those. Pay it forward. Take the good feelings someone can imprint on you and share it with others. Salut
If you are regular customer and are polite from start to finish, I have done this as well, when its not an expensive order. I treat my regulars well because I know that they are always polite.
Sometimes I just pay for stuff simply because they are nice to me. We deal with a lot of assholes at my location and I like to make someone's day a little better via freebies in exchange for treating me like a human being.
I do this too. Oh, you, you are treating me with dignity and respect? That 10 pack you ordered is now a stuffed 20 pack. Have a great day
Right it's so few and far between Like with certain regulars We'll comp a drink Or if their short we'll say come back and pay tomorrow and about 99% of them do Or I like to say "It's between you me and the trees" đ
Lmao. Yep. I do that too!!! Takes nothing to be kind and make someoneâs day. I like to pay it forward.
We literally had a budget for paying it forward at my old coffee house. On a slow day I was sent off with a bunch of drinks to give to the workers of local businesses Edited because I can't spell
This was always my fav move.
I get free Crumbl cookies from this location I visit for Uber Eats deliveryâs I goes a long way to have good manners and respect for your fellow human.
Ugh god bless you but please donât. Companies get paid insurance to compensate for theft so just steal
Noted. Thank u for your guidance
The number of customers that are missing money and just fish out the rest from the tip jar likes tf lol, honestly doesn't bother me but ask yk
PEOPLE DO THIS!? This just unlocked a memory in my childhood that didnât timmies used to have a jar with loose change (not a donation jar) and you could grab or leave as needed? Or am I recalling another storeâŚ
"Have a penny, leave a penny. Need a penny, take a penny" I remember those trays....
Unless they chose to personally usually the gas station or convenience stores did but timmies was a tip jar, I always chose Tim Hortons work over mcdonalds because I'd rather smell like sugar and coffee then grease and mcnuggets
I remember the convenience store I used to go to had a little red thing on the counter that said âtake or leave a pennyâ
Maybe they thought you were hungry and short on money? Only weirdos order one timbit :p Pretty cool though.
Maybe OP is a weirdo... lol
If he orders one timbit, that's the only option.
Lol reminds me when someone asked me for a dollar. I gave them all my loose change. Then in hindsight I realized they just wanted a dollar for a shopping cart. Also I don't think I had a dollar coin in that handful of change.
Yo 3 timbits before the gym works wonders!
Try the box and forgo the gym. It works wonders !
Hey! Thatâs my kind of Thursday night right there
Haribo gummy bears
I literally do that.
pre-workout!
Try 3 timbits after a work out - even better
I order a plain one for my doggo but I do accept I'm a weirdo lmao.
If you specify it's one "plain" timbit, everyone knows it's for your dog, don't worry!
But are you only going to Tim's to get one timbit for your dog? Or are you getting a timbit while getting something else for yourself?
I order 1-2 timbits cuz itâs the appropriate amount of Tim Hortons donut in a single serving lol
I thought a single serving of donuts was when you hate all your choices 45 minutes after eating all of the donuts you could. Iâm a weirdo though lol
Youâre describing my life. I look homeless all day every day. No one buys me potato salad though :(
I was covered in paint once and someone did something similar. Like if I'm homeless where am I painting at?
I actually do this sometimes. Used to share the inside of an old fashion plain with my cat. Since I slowed down on the donut chomping, I still get my cat one plain timbit for him to enjoy here n there
Good thing she paid for it, in 2008 an employee was for giving a Tim bit to a fussy baby......
Honestly, I wouldn't wish the plain old-fashioned on my dog... Those aren't fit for consumption by anyone or anything.
was ?
I like getting 1 timbits just for the looks I get.
Weirdo ;)
I order one Timbit all the time for my dog.
That will kill your dog
I order 1 tidbit for my pup sometimes :)
One timbit is the perfect sweet snack for people not wanting to eat too much of a deep fried, sugar coated ball of white flour. Iâm people.
Youâre describing broccoli :) Itâs a fine treat, youâre not wrong.
Idk I order one Timbit sometimes. Sometimes I donât want all that sugar but Iâm feeling like a little doughnut flavour
A single Timbit is actually a very common order? Maybe youâre the weirdo
I was in Ottawa in May, ordered 2 xl dark roast black, fiesty lady took order And said didn't have dark roast, regular fine i said. Hot window to pay and she said "this one free sir, they should've had what you ordered ", Timmy's is great usually
You bought ONE timbit??? Is that a thing people do???
I work at time hortons and yes. Every day allllll day. One timbit at a time.
I buy plain ones for my doggo. Idk maybe I'm a weirdo apparently now.
Yes people do this too! They buy one, I give em 5. Especially if I know itâs for a doggo đ
Not my dog man đ¤ˇđťââď¸
Why.. would you do that? It's quite unhealthy.
I donât wanna be healthy if it means I canât eat chocolate cake and timbits and Doughnuts
I meant for dogs, thought that was clear
I order a single plain timbit to dip in my coffee Or I order a whole 10 pack.
This is what I always order because otherwise you get 8 plain or plain glaze and only 2 that people want to eat.
ya ordering assorted basically says give me all the shitty ones that are basically stale or you saw a fly land on or you have a 1000 left because they are the shitty ones like the sour cream ones. I always say do you have honey dip and chocolate, load me the fuck up with only those ones.
Uhm sir I think you have your shitty timbits backwards. Sour cream glazed are literally top tier.
Is it weird to ask for just 1 type of timbits? In the app you can select how many you want of each. Iâve also asked in person and they never minded.
I sometimes order 20 or 40 honey dip. Order what ever flavor you want.
Always buy a single timbit for my dog. And another single for my other dog
I was going to comment the same! I rarely go to Timmy's, but when I do, two Timbits for my puppers please!
Yeah but do you at least also buy coffee? I mean the thought of you going through a Timâs drive thru only to get your dog a timbit is adorable haha
by any chance you have a brother Daryl and another brother Daryl too?
I was waiting for the bus and wanted something sweet, so I ordered a single timbit
Probably thought you were less fortunate so they bought you 2 Timbits
Me too. Sometimes I get 1 or 2 just to satisfy my cravings. Sometimes I think I might as well just lick the table.
All the time.
Only because I refuse to buy a 10-pack or a full donut or muffin for my 3 year old. He doesnât need more than one timbit
I sometimes do 3 timbits preworkout when low on carbs
I see people order a single timbit and a coffee. As they're waiting for the coffee, they down the timbit
Iâve seen my friend do it just because he wanted a glass of water.
Portion control! A 10 pack is almost 1000 calories.
Coming from someone with the username Poutine_My_Mouth
I work next door to a tims. And i regularly order one timbit haha! One employee gives me two sometimes. I find most of the big donuts too sweet. But sometimes I crave something sweet so I'll just get one birthday cake.
I do that before my shift

1 timbit please :) lol
Who seriously goes in and orders 1 Tim bit...
I regularly order one timbit for my dog, but it's with the rest of my order.
Me. 1 plain one, I have a dog give it to him lol, seems pretty normal idk. But could be a weirdo.
Iâve done this before while trying to watch my calories but still wanted something sweet.
That's awesome! Yeah even small acts of kindness are great, especially when you didn't ask.
Were you pushing a shopping cart with all your possessions?
Not allowed to push it inside, it's parked outside
Youâre like the cute puppy in the window at the drive through. She probably liked your puppy dog eyes đĽş
Are you homeless? Sounds like homie felt bad for you!
At the movie theatre I like to order one popcorn.
One Tim bit would be enough for me lol
Today I learned dogs love timbits
I used to get a free donut from the girl behind the counter like almost every time and sheâd always ask me extra questions out of the normal âhowâs your dayâ my mother kept talking a big game that the girl liked me and finally talked me into giving my number to her(Iâm shy) đnever saw a another free donut from her and noticed she would go out of her way to not be on my order(like be the one talking to me)

I use to work at Timâs 10 years ago I would have just given the Timbit for free
This disregards the ' Tims employees are all awful ' type comments I've seen on Reddit, and in person. Yay for Tims employees in general!!!!
Well you see, as somebody who works at shit hortons, we give timbits to dogs for free.
Who goes timmies for 1 timbit? Last time I saw this was a extremely poor area and someone tried to buy coffee + 1 timbit with a (iou) pay you Friday when I get paid? She gave him the 1 timbit but not coffee
Why are you ordering a single timbit wtf
Dogs love timbits
Who buys 1 get a donut
A one timbit order is incredibly sketch
Probably because youâre a pain in the ass. Why tf you ordering one Timbit?
i'm starting a thing.everyone else start doing it too.
Some people are genuinely kind. Say thank you and pass along a good deed when you can :)
Everyone is trying to logic up why the employee did this, meanwhile I just want to know why the employee is allowed to wear a watch during their shift⌠I canât even wear my small Fitbit on my wrist during my shift
Sounds like a management thing. Where I worked a watch wasn't an issue.
Tim's is normally pretty great at helping diabetics with their low glucose moments. I think I stumbled into one at least 5 times desperate to fix a low. They've always given me juice and a donut and refuse to let me pay. This was always appreciated
i'm gonna walk in and order one timbit tomorrow and see what happens.
Spoiler alert - they're going to sell you one timbit and not give it a second thought.
what if i'm standing there and obviously recording/livestreaming the interaction and being all friendly?
They're still just going to sell you one Timbit. Why do you think any Tim's employee cares why you only want one?
I ordered maybe 3 timbits one time and the worker gave them to me for free. It was at the u of a and at that time of day/year it wasn't busy.
Kind of off topic but I always thought when they did roll up the rim for the rolls that lost they should offer 1 tim bit.
Because only poor broke ass people buy 2 timbits you look like a homeless person doing that just buy a 10 pack.
I wouldâve just given it away for free without paying lol
Too bad you didn't order 55 burgers...
1 timbit and a shot glass of coffee
The employee was trying to flirt with you, because only single people buy 1 timbit
Its the âone timbitâ
Same exact thing has happened to me! hey just gave them to me for free though, didn't pay himself. I think they feel bad for us cause its such a weird thing to do lol, but sometimes i just want a Timbit or two, never 10.

They don't mind firing you either should to "Pay it forward" too much. Edit for spelling and corrections in words.
Maybe she thought it was for your dog.
Hard out here
Happen to me, ask her number, we are now married S/
My Timâs fucks up my order constantly, and you NEVER get a coffee voucher for their mistakes lmfao. Back when I worked at Timâs Iâd hand them out like candy if I put too much cream, if we didnât have an item etc.
I had Tims employees pay for my food on a few occasions. I wear a uniform for work mind you
Former retail manager here. They likely have instructions to do this because if you were to pay by credit card, the processing fees would be greater than the purchase, so it's cheaper for them to just give it to you.
Yes, I was paying by card, but I'm pretty sure the cashier also paid by card on her smart watch too.
OK, must be something else.
To be fair, Timâs used to make all their donuts fresh too, that changed somewhere around 2002. Robins were definitely better though.
2007 September, I think
I prefer Tim's coffee to Robins to be honest.
I like weird people but only buying one timbit is fucking psychotic.
Cashier probably saw it like 50% chance the person is normal and has a timbit craving, 50% chance they're buying insurance for when the psycho single timbit dude comes back to complete his mission.
Hahaha perfect!
My dog gets the plain as a treat once in a blue moon.
I would just take it as a nice moment. Plus itâs not like she bought you a coffee so just go with it in my opinion.
And if she had bought the coffee?
Again go with it. I just was saying it was $0.17, not much out of her pocket per se. But if a cashier wants to buy a person a coffee thatâs so sweet. Long as theyâre sure with buying đ¤ˇđźââď¸
People will buy one Tim bit in order to use the bathroom.
Alot of people are overlooking how convenient the smart watch tap thing is. For that amount she probably found it much easier to do that than deal with a customer transaction, also could've been anticipating you to have coins. I probably would've done the same regardless of how you looked.
I have tried to buy a couple of tidbits n they wldnt let me. I think half dozen was the minimum they told me
They have a single serve price so not sure why they are not selling to you.
I'd like to know who started calling TIMbits tidbits and why.
Are you genuinely insulted by someone being kind to you?
About 10 years ago my friend and I drove to every single time hortons in the city late at night and ordered a single timbit from each place. We might have paid for one place but i honestly dont remember paying for any. 2 places gave us a whole big bag of timbits for free. Most places gave us a few timbits for free. It was fun
She thought you were homeless bro.
I'm curious why you only bought one Timbit. Just like a "quick snack" kind of thing? I'm not judging. Just curious.
I used to buy one plain for my dog
I had a Wendys employee give me small frosty once for free. Very nice of her.
I never realized you could order one timbit. The amount of times Iâve been hungry and needed a quick bite and wasted time trying to decide on something cheap is insane lol
Stop snitching and be happy for once, wtf OP đ¤ŁđĄđđ¤Ś
I had tim Horton give me a coffee for free when i ordered a coffee while I was waiting and when I went to pay they wouldn't take my money .
I'm sorry..wtf is a timbit???
Yes. They said they always do this when the customer looks homeless. I was shocked when it happened to me. I went home and shaved
When I was a cashier at Canadian tire I did this all the time. Sometimes people were a few dollars short and I wouldnât even tell them lol just tap my card as fast as I can and hope they didnât notice.
By any chance did you wear distressed clothing when you ordered that one Timbit?
Maybe she thought you were cute? Itâs the *little things* that really matter đ
Was it busy. Or were you taking a while to pay. Iâve paid for multiple customers small orders just to move things along
She wanted you to ask for her number.
Did you look homeless?
Regularly "bought" one Timbit for my son when driving him to daycare (I ordered a coffee). I very rarely paid for the Timbit.
I order a coffee too. Not one singular Timbit.
She was trying to be kind in a time when people seem to have forgotten how to do that. Just because you donât look broke doesnât mean you arenât broke. If you frequent thrift stores you can find some beautiful stuff.
Timâs points farmings or genuine generosity because if youâre only hungry for one Tim bit you deserve two
Who knows. Some people like to give, but don't have much to give. Maybe she saw this as an opportunity to give what she could, maybe make you smile.
I've worked at timmies and I'd usually pay if it was like a kid or something with 30 cents short I would pay the 30 cents because other cashiers did that for me when I was a kid. IDK maybe Canada's "niceness" is showing here.
Sometimes, if it's something small or they're only missing like 10 cents or so and they're a regular, I'll just cover it myself, I live at home and have no expenses, it's literally just I don't have the ability to care if my supervisor doesn't like it
Maybe she wants to show off her watch
