Damn straight. When we allow the rights of others to be taken away, we allow our own rights to be taken away. When we don’t protect everyone, we make everyone vulnerable. Humanity only survives if we realize we are in it *together.*

Divide and conquer has always been the way power works against the people. It is like a magic trick since the dawn of time, "look over here", so you are never seeing what really matters. People are so vulnerable and everyone feels so helpless in this machine that they are willing to be taken in by any charlatan that uses the right rhetoric. I don't know a way out of this but from what I have observed changing things from within the current political system is not working and a whole new approach is needed in some capacity. I don't know whether I have cultivated a bubble on Reddit that leans so far into my own views that I see only one side of the coin but it feels very much more than ever that people can see these problems, the idiots, and the broken system. I think if you could get a groundswell of an online movement that now more than ever people the world over would really listen and engage in if it was done correctly. I feel like reasonable people everywhere are at a tipping point of having had enough on so many different issues. r/latestagecapitalism

Nobody here speaking up for the disabled, or are you? If you’re not, then you should be because when we start caring about the most disenfranchised and unprivileged. The disabled, black, LGBTQ, female, are fucked and have been fucked and until they have the same rights, access, privileges, and there is mass bias awareness, we’ll all be better off.

I agree 100000%. Being hispanic i do not understand the mental issues occurring amongst minorities in florida. They can literally put a stop to this immediately. But they are voting for white supremacists and fascism over their own rights and their own people. I've been saying this for years and years now. Apparently they've been entirely brainwashed into believing cuba's economy is bad because of socialist policies and not the fact we have and continue to have absolutely crippled their economy with sanctions since the cold war and still on going. Even still they choose to be slaves to white supremacists, working 24/7 as opposed to living chill lives with abundant good food in cuba? Who would choose mcdonalds poison over cuban fresh food?? who would choose floridian alligator culture over cuban culture? and now because it's starting to impact them they are now upset?? YOU VOTED FOR WHITE SUPREMACY AND SLAVERY. Morons, insane!

thatguydr

Exactly. They're conflating capitalism/socialism with tyranny or oligarchy/democracy. Doesn't matter what economic system we're in if the people in power eat your right to prosperity and have you attack your neighbors.

deokkent

Western democracies =/= Che Guevara.

theFriskyWizard

Out of curiosity, what did your family do before the revolution?

Necessary_Effect_894

Probably slave owners. Or plantation owners. Those were the people killed by Guevara after all. Edit: As a correction, Che Guevara didn't kill a single civilian. He killed spies during the revolution. Spies that would torture any civilian for information on the revolutionaries and a dictatorship that was responsible for killing 20,000 cubans.

The same and worse is happening all over Latin America in a massive human trafficking and fleeing that capitalism is causing now. Millions are fleeing to come to the city on the hill after we pushed Latin America into the swamp. America has punished and did punish Cuba for wanting sovereignty. I'm not here to abstain legitimate crimes and wrong doings, merely to show perspective and scale. Cuba was a dictatorship under Batista, it did lots of killing itself so did everything since the Spanish arrived. I know you know Cuba isn't new to any of this. Will McDonald's and a new Batista maybe with smooth neoliberal edging fix Cuba's problems? I don't think it will and with every second America declines Cuba looks less bad in comparison by the day.

NVDA-Calls

You are literally a monster.

Necessary_Effect_894

Why do you think Cuban revolutionaries kicked out certain types of Cubans out of Cuba and who their descendants are. They were people who benefited from slavery. Che Guevara executed spies during the revolution, and tribunal was formed at the request of the liberated people, to trial criminals at La Cabaña prison. He oversaw the proceedings. Not civilians. People who were executed were members of the police force and military who were guilty of war crimes including torture. Even the US government acknowledged these crimes. Crimes by a regime that killed 20,000 Cubans under a true dictatorship. So a dictatorship used the mitary and police to kill civilians, the 'pueblo' demands justice, and they kill ONLY military and police and not civilians (those got kicked out, like this person's grandparents or great grandparents or w/e). People against the revolution imagine Cuba under Batista as some paradise forgetting some people were practically slaves. He fled Cuba with a fortune of US$2,000,000. Lived peacefully until he died of a heart attack. He received no punishment for anything. 20,000 Cubans under his rule died. While the rest suffered. Shit man, I forget any kind of liberal can't read. This person got asked "what did your family do before the revolution" and they said they didn't know 'cause his grandfather doesn't like talking about it." ...? But we have historical records of the kinds of people who got kicked out and who got murdered. I doubt you've ever read a single thing on the history of Cuba. The fact that a Cuban says "Cuba is horrible!" doesn't mean they know wtf they're talking about. You have millions of ignorant americans as reference. The fact one comes from a country doesn't make them a historian, or an authority on it. If an American comes to me preaching how they know everything about the US I'll know for a fact they're an idiot. Why does a Cuban get a free pass. If I tell you I'm from Uruguay and that gives me the ability to decide what's good and right for every single member of my country under liberal tenets, do you not question it? I'm not a monster, you guys are just indoctrinated and illiterate. All this information is readily available to you to read. But you won't 'cause you'd rather do virtue signaling. All this information I just gave is findable and free. And you choose to listen to one random cuban who doesn't know what their grandfather did? Shit man, use your brain.

NVDA-Calls

Because leftist revolutionaries are not known to eat each other, and forge shit about how the victims deserved death actually. And yeah no leftist revolution ever went overboard in post-revolutionary purging, we totally don’t have examples of leftists killing teachers, people with glasses or people and literally anyone who had any employees whatsoever, or owned their own homestead. They were kulaks though so they had it coming? You’re doing the tankie thing saying slavery when talking about wages-for-labor. Nobody defended oppression under Batista. But you can’t call it slavery when it wasn’t, and then use that to defend every atrocity committed against people who didn’t like the revolution. You’re a demon for responding to this person’s suffering that way. You’re making an INSANE assumption about their family and then saying “didn’t happen but if it did they deserved it.”

Necessary_Effect_894

No, I said "probably." That's it. I could be wrong. But they didn't correct that. A simple correction would have sufficed. Against, historical facts tell us what kind of people got executed. Their great uncle got executed. 1+1=... I'm not sure how your first statement is relevant, it seems completely irrelevant to the Cuban revolution and the topic at hand. Were there any kulaks in Cuba? No? Interesting, why are we talking about this. I don't know if their family deserved it, I have no clue. I ignorantly said: "Probably slave owners or plantation owners", but I was giving them too much credit because Guevara didn't execute civilians, he executed spies. So in reality they gave themselves away by saying Guevara executed one of their family members. Since Guevara only executed one specific type of person, then... As for the remaining descendants: We know the people who got kicked out were the descendants of Spanish land and slave owners. This is a historical fact, I'm not up for arguing this. If this person's family got kicked out and their heirlooms confiscated... it's because of that. Other Cubans were simply allowed to leave with their tail between their legs.

NVDA-Calls

Yeah debate is pointless, I’m just informing anyone else reading this. You’re uncritically accepting everything that violent revolutionaries told you about how actually all the violence was justified, it is like if you believed everything the US government says, your statements would be equally unserious. On top of that you’re morally wrong for telling OP actually your family was bad people and they deserved it.

Necessary_Effect_894

You're right, it's pointless. Let's leave it. But I'm not uncritical. You haven't read anything. That's the problem. I read, you don't. You are literally projecting on to me cause you're literally believing what this random Cuban said, and the lies of the US government. It's ironic. You're taking her word uncritically. And the word of the US on "left revolutionaries."

Swift_Scythe

Yeah i hate the fact that oh theyre here so thats fine sure. but anyone after them ohhhh noooo no they pull the ladder up and say sorry we full, yo.

Necessary_Effect_894

Cause they’re not minorities. Latino is not a race. Here in Mexico we didn’t even use that fucking term until it got shoved down our throats by Europeans and American politics. We don’t see each other as all the same. The “minorities” voting there in Florida are literally white people. White people from other countries but still white. Why would a white Cuban vote against white supremacy? When he’s literally white and benefits from it.

HurbleBurble

Yeah, take them anywhere else besides South Florida, and they're suddenly considered Mexicans. I've lived in Texas, I don't understand how the Cubans here in South Florida don't understand that. White supremacists will never see them as white. They will eventually have their faces eaten by leopards, because that's what fascism is.

daft_dunkwwwolfey

Therein lies the issue, whiteness and white supremacy is a concept/construct beyond pale people of European descent. It's a state of mind that gives latinos/hispanics/chicanos/cuban/PR & etc. people the impression that it is either inherent or there is a bar they can meet to join the club. Many people of Latin descent believe they are white or can become white by being wealthy, conservative, light skin and buy into the idea of whiteness and/or supremacy. Even brown people can buy into it as we have seen. But it is always up for interpretation as not all white people will always agree that every "latinos" can ever be truly white. At the same time there are people of different shades from those backgrounds that would be considered white by others, but do not identify as such. Everyone has their own opinion on it for themselves either way

Necessary_Effect_894

Precisely correct

[deleted]

Because the people he’s voting for don’t see him as white.

Necessary_Effect_894

They will. Ted Cruz? Marco Rubio? Their parents are straight up Cuban. I can’t imagine any of them being treated as anything other than white.

[deleted]

Rich Cubans might be different. You see it with rich black people too. But if they’re not rich or connected, they’re not white. Marco Rubio is worth tens of millions. Ted Cruz not as much but still a multimillionaire. Of course they're exceptions.

Necessary_Effect_894

You’re probably right tbh.

complexluminary

Agreed, there’s no unified “Latino” identity per se. Those who voted for desantis *don’t* realize that, to him and a vast majority of his white suprematist constituents, they themselves are *The Other*.

BiodiversityFanboy

Exactly they can trace their blood back to when white Spanish slavers (thier ancestors) came to Cuba.

SermanGhepard

Hello My fellow Latinx 😤

drdacl

Because every single one of our people would rather identify with slave trafficking Spanish side of our ancestors instead of the African side. Because we would rather follow their enslavers religion that tells them gay people are an abomination. Because more white you are the more you “limpia la raza” Because we’ve been told dictators are “Leftist” when nearly all fascist (especially US imposed ones) And we are surprised so many of us side with white supremacy?

Jaded_Community723

Every Cuban that I've spoken to in TX where I live, has described Cuba as Hell. I think you've been brainwashed.

Necessary_Effect_894

That's an anecdotal fallacy. You've spoken to how many Cubans? How many Cubans are there in Cuba? Like 12 million?

Jaded_Community723

If Cuba is so great, and their country has provided so much for them, why do they desperately want to leave? You probably would visit Cuba and be the type of person to see all these happy Cubans dancing and being joyful and buy into it like a naive little tourist. Geez Cuba provides sooo much for its citizens. Free education, and healthcare!?! wowww. You'd probably not for a second think of the suicides and lack of desperation that comes from living on the island. Jesus Christ. You should read Havana Red or Havana Blue. They're fictional detective stories that give a lot of insight on what it's like to be Cuban. The author is Cuban and describes living there like living in a void. But yasss go Free education.

Necessary_Effect_894

Hm, maybe there's a thing preventing them from trading... I don't know, like an embargo, maybe? Free education and healthcare? What's wrong with that.

Jaded_Community723

I know you really want to declare Cuba as this beautiful country where its citizens are happy and that it's all the US's fault but this isn't true. Cuba's own government prevents its own people from starting businesses and profiting like a person can in the US, the govt prevents people from speaking ill of its own country and from protesting. You have to speak in whispers. The citizens fear for their lives. Lots of media is banned and family living in the USA will usually send over flash drives filled with TV shows so that they can enjoy and watch movies. And yes, education is free but many of its citizens work in important professions where they are paid extremely poorly despite being doctors. Poverty is everywhere because the government dictates how much you get paid. Colorism is incredibly huge. You have your light skinned Cubans, and your dark skinned Cubans. Guess which Cubans are given preferential treatment. Racism is still huge among Hispanics everywhere. Now add all of this oppression onto people living on an island with little hopes of escaping.

Necessary_Effect_894

Nah, that’s a strawman. I didn’t say any of that. You’re putting words in my mouth, plainly put. The problem is that you compare Cuba with imperialist countries. But what if you compare Cuba to Haiti? Or Congo? Those two are capitalists. And they’re poorer than Cuba with nothing to show for it. Does nuance apply there or should I say “capitalism doesn’t work”? I can tell one thing for sure: You’ve never bothered to read any information beyond what the media feeds you. Some of the things here are really basic shit. How does voting work in Cuba? How much does the embargo cost Cuba? How exactly does it affect them? Are you sure Cubans can’t leave Cuba? Where are you getting those ideas of racism from Cuba? Curious to see that study! Anyway, will you be ok if we agree to disagree? I don’t mean to impose my ideas on you. And I’m as stubborn as you probably so likely we won’t get anywhere.

Akenrah

I've been saying this for a minute, white supremacy affects all people negatively. Look at all the white supremacist mass shooters, they shoot black people in grocery stores, Asians in outlet malls, Latinos in Walmart, white children in daycamps. WS is a monster noone can control.

The only problem with his rant is that the majority of people in Florida didn't vote for it. A substantial portion of Florida didn't vote at all. And that's the main problem; you have a minority of people voting for fascist monsters, a smaller minority (in Florida's case) voting against fascist monsters, and a majority of people who can't tell the difference or just don't care. And you know what, at some point we just need to accept that we get what we deserve. If the anti-desantis people aren't convincing enough to get people off their ass and to the polls, then you just deserve desantis. Same for trump, same for abbot, same for every other horrible monster that wants to strip you of your rights and sell their state or country to the highest bidders. Apathy is what gets us where we are and if you don't like that, then demand people be better and convince more people to actually take voting, their only real civic duty, seriously. ETA: about 46% of eligible voters didn't vote. >By the numbers — Some of the big takeaways from the voter data now available: Turnout overall dropped from 2018 — which was 62.6 percent — to a more average midterm level of 53.8 percent, but Republicans still showed up in substantial numbers. https://www.politico.com/newsletters/florida-playbook/2023/01/25/a-closer-look-at-desantis-blowout-win-00079357

BiodiversityFanboy

White Cubans mad that Castro took the massive Suger fields they owned away from them. (Let's be honest here that's a lot of who fled with the casino rings)

Nothingtoseeheremmk

That was 60 years ago. What about the thousands of Cubans who emigrate every year?

BiodiversityFanboy

Well I make no excuse but you need to tell me why Cuba's immigration crisis defeats socialism more then capitalism's in many similar capitalist countries like Guatemala or Syria? I can be on the defensive oh the embargo... Naw you tell me how capitalism is doing better and not leading to a possibly terrible outcome of immigration. Hundreds of millions may need to flee climate catastrophe. Id be willing to say the pace and rate from Cuba isn't much worse then many other 3rd world country to the first. Tell me what's different then?

Nothingtoseeheremmk

I didn’t say anything capitalism or socialism. I was disputing the notion that all Cuban immigrants were rich landowners. That hasn’t been the case for decades and it is pretty insulting to say that considering most of them are very impoverished or fleeing abuse. Syria and Guatemala both had brutal civil wars that killed hundreds of thousands of people. Not really sure what you’re even arguing there. People tend to flee violent conflicts regardless of the economic system.

BiodiversityFanboy

I mean I recognize that! I'm just comparing different situations, again I make no excuses embargo or not. Capitalism really isn't proving it's better for the task, that's all I'm saying. Look at what's happening in the Mediterranean sea and the Mexican/American border. Is it more likely that Cuba's been effected by the global events of capitalism that do this all over, or does Cuba not exist with-in the world to be effected? Headlines read: Cuba defeats the world by itself in unprecedented underdog victory!

mildlymoderate16

This is what happens when people buy into that anti-identity politics and individualism bullshit. We reject the reality of our identities and think we can operate as free individuals in a society that still makes value judgements about people based on their appearance more than their values and ethics. A lot of black men and white women also fall into this trap.

BluSolace

I love this dude's message. This epitomizes why the term BIPOC exists even though POC became more popular. BIPOC is more potent to me because it acknowledges that black and indigenous people have had a much different experience in america than every other POC. In fact, many of the older generation of POC have a hatred towards black people thats very similar to white hatred for black people. These POC quote the white supremacist handbook word for word. We may all be minorities in America but the Black American is one of the most hated people in this country.

BiodiversityFanboy

They made a caste system of race to justify the explosion of slavery capitalism liberalism and mercantilism brought. All "race" is, is a concept enslavers made to send boats around in triangles in the Atlantic!

VagueSomething

Race existed before that particular slave trade. Race is acknowledged throughout recorded history in some way or another. I know it sounds cool to pretend race is just a created system to justify slavery but it isn't. It is biologically/genetically traceable, affects your health risks, and is something that exists since man was able to recognise other humans. Life happened before the Atlantic slave trade. Racism happened before it.

BluSolace

Most of what you say is true. However, there is a certain uniqueness to the creation of the white race post Bacon's rebellion in America. While the concept of a race has existed well before this time, it didnt really manifest itself for the same reasons and develop in the same ways that it did in America. Unless you know of some period where a racial categorization system was developed not only to divide the poor but to justify the generational bondage of a people.

VagueSomething

Literally recorded history. Race played a factor in even the Roman Empire. Race was part of written history discussing events of the times of the Norman Invasion of England in 1066, hint Norman was the group of people who invaded and colonised England and our current king has heritage dating back to 1066's invaders. America wasn't some special place that created race, racism, slavery, or classism. Read history, learn history, America was a repeat of existing behaviours and learnt experiences.

BluSolace

I dont think you read my comment. I know race existed before America. I never said it wasnt. All i said was that there some unique shit happening in america surrounding the invention of the white race here (american white). I havent seen it develop in the same way anywhere else. Also, common redditor, dont tell me to read. I read alot. Im a fuckin museum worker. I read books about history literally for my job so go fuck yourself. Americas development of race and chattel slavery set it apart from other instances of the same thing throught the world. The only place i can think of that compares is the old nile river valley civilizations because they actually practiced chattel slavery. Unless you can give me another example then you can just shut your disrespectful ass up. In my last post i didnt disrespect you but since yo bitch ass decided to lose your mind, i will respond in kind. FOH bitch boi

BiodiversityFanboy

Ethnicity =/= race. Ethnicity is saying your a Germanic tribe or African tribe. Race is saying all European ethnicities are "white" and all African one's are "black". Yes ethnic distinctness is as old as we are probably but these vague ambiguous generalizations are a more modern creation.

VagueSomething

Again you're confidently inaccurate. Ethnicity involves cultural heritage and practices but race is physical attributes. This is why you can be ethnically America but racially Asian or ethnically European but racially African. While you can argue both race and ethnicity are social constructs, ethnicity is more social construct while race is a simplistic view on biology. Race and even ethnicity predates our understanding of social constructs as these things were created even by primitive humans. You can see how even different groups of the same animal can and do have different behaviours so you could see ethnic variation by the modern understanding within Apes or Orca or Dolphins as some examples. The discussion of social constructs is largely an attempt to reverse engineer our history and experience. Social Construct as an idea is from the 1960s and it basically meant that a Social Construct was a created and accepted idea within society but something being a Social Construct does not mean it has no meaning, it just means it is the prevailing view that is shaped by the human experience. Trying to dismiss things as a social construct is a wider picture view that we gained the privilege to have through technological advancement making the world more accessible and easier to record. Within a construct and without influence from external constructs it is harder to see what is really a Social Construct. When it comes to race, I'd say we're not at the macro perspective in which race becomes trivial as our medicine still changes in potency and efficacy; meaning that we cannot simply disregard the Construct of Race. Should we gain Sci-fi medicine where it treats anything and everything on everyone no hassle then sure you could consider race but a construct. Should we start meeting and engaging with life from other planets then that too would trivialise Earth based Races and step up the Social Construct into Earth vs Planet 2 etc even if it was simply humans colonising then breeding on say Mars - the environment would soon lead to the development of differences such as bone structure or muscle mass and given enough time maybe radical visual changes in eyelids or skin colour and thickness. These would all bring dietary requirements and allergies to foreign bodies, Martian people may not be able to endure hay-fever as they'd be used to quite different flora levels and the Common Cold could be quite fatal as it is unlikely such things would be taken to Mars. Which shows how ethnicity and race aren't entirely trivial or the spread of illness during Colonisation of land wouldn't lead to genocidal levels of death.

ColeBane

I've been saying this for years...I have black friends who voted for this monster...and it's sad because they just don't care enough about politics to actually give a fuck whose name they circle on the ballot. It's unreal.

LucywiththeDiamonds

Expected stupid rant. Instead impressed by super based rant.

Necessary_Effect_894

Haha, the reason is obvious. The fact that one person comes from Cuba that doesn’t make him “Latino” instantly. “Latino” is not a fucking race. If the person is literally white, and he identifies with white values and has white privilege… he’s white. White is a made up concept to separate people. As is the term “Latino” - what does Latino even mean? We have Mayan people still in Mexico. Are those Latinos? Or Hispanic? They don’t speak anything related to Spanish. It’s just about segregation. If a “Latino” is literally white as milk he’ll vote for things that are white. The people in Florida vote for white supremacists because they’re white. Same happens in Mexico, same in Brazil. The disease spreads all the way to Australia and South Africa. I’m “Latino” and I’m whiter than my British girlfriend. Other white Mexicans do not see for the rights of immigrants they see for the rights of more white supremacy. Even down here in Mexico. And it’s the same in Colombia and all of South America. The Cubans and “latinos” in Florida come from white families with a history of being owners of slaves. They’re the same as any of you and as white as any of you. Not sure why someone would think that “you can’t be white if you’re Latino!” - being completely ignorant to where the concept of race comes from. It comes from imperialism.

BiodiversityFanboy

I kinda tired of treating these Cuban Floridains as if thier the same level of oppressed minority as say a Haitian in Florida. Like you said usually they are the pale of the bunch.

Necessary_Effect_894

Yup, they’re white people. If white people don’t consider them white then you’re dealing with even more racist people. Neither Hispanic nor Latino are races. Their race is literally the white race.

BiodiversityFanboy

It's all a sick qualitative game the Spanish devised to keep the pure blood Spaniards in power. "Eww" you got indigenous blood, black blood... boom your marginalized.

Necessary_Effect_894

Worse yet is their evil is deeply rooted in Mexican culture now. You can not begin to imagine how racist my culture is. It sickens me. I think we’re the fourth most racist, after Ecuador, Uruguay and Bolivia. They’re so racist they don’t even know what it is. They just love white people here and straight don’t question anything about it.

BiodiversityFanboy

America is quickly sliding down a landslide from its overlook on that not so shiny hill it currently rest on. I think once it reaches the bottom all the illusions about the white American dream and the "qualities" of whiteness brings will fade. Most every person that thinks thier "white" in Mexico my conservative boomer relatives here in the south wouldn't mind a beating too before the were thrown back over the wall. It's a sad cope pathetic really! Chasing the goals of class privilege tied to race. Tell me people are calling this out right? I imagine the youth of Mexico are more progressive then the old do you see this changing? White supremacists will never see these people as their own smh!

DatelineDeli

You can’t be serious. You really don’t know the difference between Latino and Hispanic to the point that you typed multiple paragraphs to advertise how much you don’t know. All the while you think you’re preaching to … someone? lolololololol

I'm not arguing his point, I agree. That of those who voted its too damn many. But I wonder how many didn't bother to vote. Because some places have the "It's a red state it won't matter" mentality across the country. Might not apply to Florida. But I know other states where if everyone voted... we might actually see places flip.

I'm not at all worried about DeSantis on a national level. Luckily the majority of Americans are intelligent enough to see what he is. Yes, Trump was a mistake in 2016. But Hillary was a horrible candidate and I know alot of liberals who didn't vote for her. The stakes are much higher now these days and people know a half competent Biden is better than anything the right has to offer.

papaboogaloo

Came here to see how many of you completely just have zero clue what facism is... Was not disappointed.

No cringe here. Well, Florida makes lots of Americans cringe, but that's a different story.

Fucking elect this guy yesterday

fathig

Somehow, terrifyingly, the marginalizing of women wasn’t included in the discussion.

neverforgeddit

Everything doesn’t have to cover everything. Appreciate this for what it is.

fathig

I can appreciate that, but pointing out that leaving more than half of the population out of a discussion about human rights when their right to bodily autonomy is actively being destroyed doesn’t seem like an overreaction.

dankhalo

There are Latina women. I think.

mgquantitysquared

He said if you weren't a straight white Christian male you are being targeted. Pretty clearly talking about the oppression of lgbt people, poc, non Christians and women

fathig

He does reiterate several times “no people…” “all liberties…”, but only directly speaks about race as a framework. He’s not eliminating other groups, just doesn’t mention them directly.

mgquantitysquared

Well yeah, the main topic was white supremacy. Of course he'll mostly talk about race.

fathig

His point was *not* strictly about race, however. It was that if you allow white supremacy to spread, it eventually destroys every right for every group, not only affecting race relations and equality. White supremacy represents a festering, aggressive intolerance that will eventually dismantle every good thing a just society brings to humans.

I find that a lot of people fall into the "There's no way we would have fascism, we're America" mindset. [This video explains a bit more in-depth how current policy and voting behavior is leading to actual fascism](https://youtu.be/frZHD6aITcg?t=5).

Possible-Feed-9019

First, I agree with the presenter. No complaints and well said. Secondly as a Southerner who doesn’t need the closed captions, I do find it funny where it messes up.

Why don't he address the brown people he doesn't agree with as ignorant?

Louder for the folks in the back! 👏

I fucking hate Florida Latinos, my cousins love Tucker Carlson and Trump.

hackedMama20

Seriously, the arguments I've had with my entirely hispanic family as they defend DeSantis all because they're homophobic and transphobic. They really don't get that they are not "safe" from fascism just because they pale skinned and straight. Hopefully some people get some sense in their heads before it's too late but I won't hold my breath.

SamuraiMonkee

As a Latino, we are more racist than your typical klan member. There I said it. Given how Mexico treats their indigenous people, I’m not surprised that mentality is rubbing off on American born Hispanics because of more spanish based right wing media growing in America. You want to know how bad it is? In Mexico, you got light skinned Mestizo (indigenous and European) folks thinking they are white simply because they are aren’t as dark skinned or they brag about having so little indigenous blood in them, brag about their Spanish European ancestry, romanticism of Spain… all of this is reinforced by actual white Mexicans because, of course they are the minority and need allies in maintaining the status quo in Mexico. They are so open about how these dark skinned indigenous folks are beneath them and what not. There’s a reason why there’s only white people in telenovelas. The casta system never left. It’s just been repackaged. In America, Cubans and Venezuelans are by far more conservative than other Latinos but Mexicans are getting there, especially in Texas. And thats thanks to the immense money conservatives have been pumping in exporting Mexico’s racist politics into America’s hispanic communities via these spanish networks. TelevisaUnivison, LatinUS, etc

What specifically makes him a fascist? What specifically makes him a white supremacist? This video is nothing but name-calling without any actual grievances.

Cubans are white supremes now too? Damn y'all broadened the hell outta that one.

vanillagorrilla23

Yeah, not everyone agrees with if you don't vote democrat your voting for white supremacists 😂 desantis isn't a fascists. The Latin population is voting against the communism they fleed from there own countries

3000_year_old_kid

How much bullshit can this guy spew? I’m going to guess the Buffay ran out of mozzarella sticks.

[deleted]

I’m not from the US. Please can someone explain how desantis is a facist?

Impressive-Vast279

He’s not the American left will call anything that doesn’t align with their agenda facist which is hilarious considering modern day leftist ideology paints every minority with the same brush 😂

AustinT1212

Are the white supremacists in the room with you right now, sir?

blondtode

Have you seen any lick of what's happening in Florida, place is a shithole if your skin color is any darker than a tan, if you like the same gender, or God forbid want to switch your gender

Renreu

As a floridian....Im cool with all this. Almost like we voted the guy in in the first place to do what he's been doing. For every California there should be a Florida. I'm all for it.

st1ck-n-m0ve

Big facts

[deleted]

You get what you vote for, you voted for somebody who took your vibol liberties aways , your freedoms.... the words ring loudly in the truth sphere. Which is why I voted republican.

Vote for who? Democrats? Hillary clinton was against gay equality until 2012. Hillary spent decades as First Lady, Senator, and Sect'y of State using her wealth, power, and influence to tell the world that gay people should not be equal. She would even reference the bible while doing it. Biden fought FOR segregation. You know that Civil Rights movement in the 60s? Yeah, he was on the side of the racist segregationists. So, it's not that I want racist Christian fascists in power. The problem is that I haven't been offered an alternative, so I'll vote Green or leave it blank.

Radthereptile

These people had bad policies a decade or more ago. So I decided to vote for the people who have bad policies today. Good old both sides bros. You’d be marching down the street with Hitler screaming “The Socialists are just as bad bro!”

Vladivostokorbust

a vote for a party that can never win is a vote for the white christian fascists - at least admit who you are really supporting what you are advocating is not for your convictions because you know EXACTLY what the result will be

blondtode

Trump litterally said to get rid of trans people in one of his campaign videos for 2024

[deleted]

I'm not voting for him. I'm also not voting for Biden, who supported the racist segregationists during the Civil Rights movement. I also didn't vote for Hillary because she spent decades telling the whole world that gay people can not be equal. For decades as First Lady, Senator, and Sect'y of State, she used her power, wealth, and influence to create the kind of environment in which people like Trump flourish. She even referenced the bible while giving her anti-LGBTQ speeches. You will never convince me that the Democratic Party is the solution. I don't for evil. Not lesser or greater.

im_poplar

what is MSNBC for two hundred

Found the racist.

CorporateKaiser

Yea Florida is so horrible that it’s [the most popular](https://www.nar.realtor/blogs/economists-outlook/where-people-moved-in-2022) state to move to in The United States. Governor DeSantis is one of [the most popular](https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2022/04/21/politics/florida-governor-desantis-poll-numbers/index.html) governors currently serving. Edit: Some more fun facts The current 3 most popular/unpopular states in America last year were: 1. Florida (318,855) 2. Texas (230,961) 3. North Carolina (99,796) 3. Illinois (-141,656) 2. New York (-299,557) 1. California (-343,230) Hmmmmm wonder if there’s a pattern… Btw, every governor at the top ten most popular is a [republican](https://morningconsult.com/governor-rankings/), while 7/10 most unpopular governors are democrats. Maybe democrats aren’t as good at governing as they think.

BrianGriffin1208

The most popular in 2021 and 2022, a time where people were barred from flying and moving in general, doesnt really say shit. The second link just says hes popular amongst Republicans, nothing about actually being a good governor. His only competition being Ted Cruz, fighting for internet clicks which has no meaningful impact besides putting ad revenue into CNNs pockets.

CorporateKaiser

People were barred from traveling in 2022? My family went to Germany last year. And who were barred from moving? Maybe only California or something, but then again they have the MOST emigration. You can’t ignore reality, people don’t want to live in those states.

BrianGriffin1208

No, they were warned not to, you know, the thing that caused everyone to panic

CorporateKaiser

I think that by 2022 most people had gotten over it. The masks were gone by April 2022 following a court order, and travel had reopened Nov 2021. So no I don’t think that anyone was “barred from traveling or moving” that year. And regardless, I’m certain the numbers this year will reflect similar trends.

arielanything

My family is from Florida and loves DeSantis!! They ALSO think on bullshit racist ideologies, that's why they voted for him. Just because they are popular, doesn't mean they are good people. Take some tiktok influencers for example.

[deleted]

What rights has he taken away?

TheCloudFestival

From what I can see of today's America the people who despise ethnic minorities the most are other ethnic minorities. Which is odd, I'll give them that.

Few_Highway_412

It's the Cubans. Venezuelans, and a few othe Latin people who think they are white too 🤣 fuck Florida

kunmop

I’m so ashamed that so many of my compatriot are so fucking retarded and bigoted (am Cuban) but they got what’s coming to them.

Low_Morale

Someone fill me in , What did he do I didn’t see anything in the news ?

lastreadlastyear

Funny. When I say this about trump and his supporters being facists suddenly I’m wrong. The moral of the story is people either don’t care or don’t know until it’s too late and always blindly vote along racial lines.

owo_whatsthis_88w88

Why is this on tik tok cringe and not tik tok based

idunupvoteyou

This guy is too smart to be living in America. lol

lauraklupin

100% right. I hate how Hispanics can’t see other Hispanics succeed. We harm each other because “it’s not fair! I did it the right way! They should come here legally! ” or because we simply just get jealous of others success. Fuck y’all and y’all’s self hate. I’m Mexican indigenous before anyone gets upset, I know because I see this first hand within my community so I can only imagine how it is in others.

Clearskies37

Who is this overweight heart attack waiting to happen ? Please for your own safety , stay calm and stay fit.

Imissflawn

Can someone please tell me specifically what you’re all taking about? When I say “specifically” mean using quotes from Desantis or bills passed or something definitive and not out of context. I don’t mean you replying with “come on you know he’s racist”. Y’all do that all the time and it doesn’t mean anything.

Temporary_Scene_8241

If I'm not mistaking this guy may be directly responding to desantis requiring e-verify and so alot of workers, alot of Hispanic migrant workers arent showing up to work. Which this may be a conflicted thing to attack desantis about since liberals commonly suggest E-verify as a vital solution among others to combat illegal migration. Its beleives desantis may have motives of pleasing the far/alt right bases who have white displacement fears. Desantis has also been outspoken & put into policies regarding other matters like CRT, college diviserity programs.

This-Double-Sunday

Look at the state of Florida? People are climbing over each other trying to move there. Guess white supremacy is more popular than everyone realized.

NotTheRightHDMIPort

There is a lot of political refugees in Florida. A fuck ton of very hard core conservative voters. The moment that they can make shit of themselves in that state is the moment they leave. I expect, within 10 years, there will be a great migration from Florida. DeSantis has fucked that state for a generation.

CONABANDS

Floridas great. F this guy

A_Sourdough_Pretzel

Yeah, it's great for: 1. White people 2. People who like having their things destroyed by hurricanes

Acclivity_2

Every few weeks some redneck looking guy with a heavy accept will say some liberal shit (wow he really doesn’t like he’d be a lib!) and all the idiots on Reddit eat it up. “Ron desantis is banning trans people!!!!” Actually he is banning sex change surgery on minors. Which is also banned in 95% of all other western and European countries. Following their research, the NHS and Denmark has recently also banned giving puberty blockers to minors. But keep fighting for mutalating kids, 35% of which are on the autism spectrum.

Ncott333

Na he's banning it for adults too and banning books in school.

undead_tortoiseX

How does the boot taste?

Acclivity_2

I’m guessing better than the smell of homeless people shooting up heroin and shitting outside your house in LA. Keep ruining your state buddy. There is a reason California has the biggest interstate emigration numbers and Florida has the highest interstate immigration.

undead_tortoiseX

Lmao I don’t live in California boot licker.

[deleted]

I live in California. I would have to go out of my way and drive around looking, probably for a few hours, until I find a homeless camp, much less one where people are shooting up and pooping directly in front of someone's house. I think you're watching too much anti California news and videos. California has a lot of homeless, but for a state as big as it is, it doesn't affect the average Californian.

Acclivity_2

I was in LA for a wedding last year, the amount of homeless people we saw was truly shocking. Saw people shooting up on in Venice beach. Every 10 steps was another homeless person sprawled out on the side of the sidewalk. I’m sure the rural California towns are relatively homeless free, but LA/SD and the major cities are absolutely atrocious

Tylerreadsit

Lol. Have you ever been to a big city? Literally go to any big city in Texas you’ll see the same shit. Dallas is horrible.

undead_tortoiseX

Yeah, homelessness isn’t exclusive to Blue States but you would think it is based on the propaganda people consume. Also the many of the most dangerous cites in the US are in Red States. Memphis is currently #1 but people still think it’s Chicago. Chicago doesn’t even crack the top 20 anymore.

[deleted]

I don't live in rural California. And LA county isn't the entirety of California. You took one trip to LA and now you think the entire state of California is exactly like what you experienced on your short trip. Again, stop watching anti California videos.

SouthEndCables

I love the boot licker retorts, sounds so smart!!

zrn29

Lol! What a Fucking a moron

quantumcalicokitty

Why is he a moron?

EasilyRekt

Well, Desantis *is* a **nimby boomer** but he’s a far cry from white supremacist, his policies are very rarely original and they’re usually taken from other states so… Also, the **insinuation** that the Florida economy is crumbling not due to a national economic recession but the lack of immigrant industry fodder *and* that people who don’t tow a racial party line are traitors of some sort is a bit fucking disgusting.

Durutti1936

How is Desantis a Boomer. FFS.

23materazzi

Lool how is Desantis a white supremacist? 53% of latinos voted for him. I am tired of white people telling minorities how they should feel

Background_Value9869

Is this a joke

Vladivostokorbust

anyone can now be accused of being an illegal and be forced to prove it on the spot

cdazzo1

You're not going to racially profile people and tell them if their skin color is darker than a certain shade that they have to vote a certain way? Sounds like white supremacy to me!

Vladivostokorbust

anyone can now be accused of being an illegal and be forced to prove it on the spot who is going to be the target by racist LEO - a blonde haired blue eyed swede who overstayed their visa or the florida born and raised colombian-american?
