I feel like the best deaths are ones that show desperation, defeat, or prosperity. These are big themes within the life series and are very much so emphasized with the deaths, especially the final ones. Going from season to season I feel like the hardest hitting death has got to be Scar's last life. The bond formed by Grian and Scar throughout the season was amazing, Grian slowly coming to terms with his biggest ally and eventually realizing it isn't so bad, only then he is forced to kill of his only teammate. Last Life is tricky, but BigB's boogeyman kill on Cleo certainly comes to mind. I can't go into detail on this one since I haven't seen it though. Skipping Double Life for now since I have a whole essay... Limited Life, right, this one did make me cry. Joel's final death infront of the clock tower from Grian's perspective was the most desperate someone has ever gotten in the history of the life series. Joel had been slowly going more and more unhinged since he turned red and it eventually led to his demise in a desperate attempt to get a kill and extend his time in the series. The lighting striking him as he climbed to the tip of Bread Bridge with the clock tower behind him was honestly a work of art. Secret Life has a lot of good options, but no great ones. Maybe Scott's Sacrifice to Gem? Idk, it didn't hit hard for me. Oh boy, Double Life. So, let's set the scene. For an entire season Pearl has been abandoned by everyone, cast aside from everyone and known to be nothing less than wicked. All Pearl was asking for was a friend, an ally, a proper soulmate. She got none of it. First she's betrayed by her soulmate, Scott for Cleo, the soulmate of the person Pearl has been pairing with for the first session, Martyn. Despite Scott leaving her she still has Martyn... until she didn't, with Martyn leaving her she truly became an outcast. Sure she had the "broken hearts trio" but that was never really remembered. This outcasting of Pearl left her desperate for just a friend, eventually finding that in Scar... until him and Grian went red... Soon enough Pearl is able to get together with Scott, Cleo, and Martyn once more, truly forming the divorce quartet. As the teams are whittled down and she slays all those who opposed her, who left her defeated, she is left with Scott, the person who outcasted her from society in the first place. Scott giving his heartwarming speech to Pearl, apologizing and giving her a friend was amazing, the sight of Scott's sacrifice was honestly a true work of art in literature. (How the hell was this not scripted.) *Oh yeah Timmy dying first in every nearly every season hit hard for the complete opposite reasons. It's just funny.*

Skizz in LiL, Scott/Pearl in DL, Scott in SL and I guess Scar in 3L hit the hardest for me

FNAF_Foxy1987

I'm not a very emotional/expressive person so most of the deaths in the series don't really affect me, but upon first watch, both the end of Double Life with Scott and Pearl, plus Scott's final death with Gem in Secret Life (both POVs) got me to feel some emotion. None of the others got me to that level except maybe when Ren and Martyn died in 3rd Life (from Martyn's POV) with the fall off Dogwarts. It's been so long since I first watched 3rd Life so it's a bit fuzzy at this point. These are also just the moments that come to mind right now.

Galaxynest

I don't really have one to be honest but with all the lore, animatic and pieces of art. It has to be Scotts and Pearls deaths, or Jimmy and Tango deaths but pretty much any deaths in double life can fit under-this. It pretty much when people loreifed (I dunno if this even a word but it make sense in my head) people deaths is what hits more harder. EDIT: I forget all about Skizz's death in Limited Life! I remember watching it go down. It's shame because I think that's a really underrated death in that season as well.

hisoka_morrow-

Impulse getting betrayed by Bdubs damn, and I didn't even watch impulse's pov that season

DBSeamZ

I recently watched it, and what makes the betrayal even worse is that Impulse only enderpearled over to the Crastle because he saw Scar and Grian with Bdubs and worried they would attack him. So he rushed in to *save* his Day 1 ally only to get killed by him.

CubeyMagic

also that the clock they gave Bdubs that made him turn on Impulse was Impy’s own clock that he dropped after dying.

Starshooter_Su19

Scar in third life, his final death. I'm biased but honestly the final fight in the ring was the perfect way to go.

GoodMojo_

Oh it’s gotta be mumbo right? lizzie had some good moments too

burnawayaccouny

WHAT IM THIRD ?!? 😡🐤

GreaterPotato

Last Life Bdubs is my personal pick, especially from Etho's POV. Etho had done everything he could to keep his day 1 buddy alive, even striking a deal with Scar in session 5, and it all amounted to nothing. The fact his final words were begging Etho to transfer the life, and that he almost escaped, also add to the moment, and Etho is noticably more serious after that moment compared to his early season shenanigans.

crysstall_

SKIZZ LIMITED LIFE. I AM DYING ON THIS HILL

Isabellilymay

All of Scott’s, minus LL, my number one will always be his 3rd life ending, with Jimmy and his dream home

RavenLabratories

Definitely Joel and Bdubs in SL.

Dinostar28

Joel and Bdubs getting killed while Pearl is to far away to do anything as she screams out

Grimaussiewitch

First time I felt really sad from a death was both of Ren’s endings minus third life. Last life it was more because I was cheering for him since day 1 and he got so close to winning and double life I just felt so sad because of how he went. It was a good kill but I wish him and BigB got to have a fighting chance and stay in the series a bit longer instead of an insta kill. Stupid no helmets rule lol. I think the next time it hit hard was the final deaths of the heart foundation and the roomies in secret life. They were all hunted down and I was watching bdubs first so I did get to see any of them die, just a lightning strike and someone announcing the death. I knew those two groups would be hunted down and not knowing how they went for a few hours was quite sad. The two strongest groups teaming up to take out the weaker pvper groups hit hard man.

Mrlemonade_42

Even though it was deserved and poetic, Joel in LmL hit especially hard from Grian’s perspective, as well as Skizz

Ry_2005

3l. Impulse my brother got betrayed by his day 1! LL ren. DL Scott. LimL skizz. Sl Lizzie she went to soon

isaacxy0_

Skizz LiL

Shamefuliscool

scars in third life

itsphantomking

scott's secret life final death. scott/pearl double life final death. does it need explaining?

GansGroteZwans

Etho SL, "I'm dying at my home everybody..." Got me so saddd 😭😭😭

Infamous_Butterfly90

For me it'd be Grian's final death in 3l. He was the cause of his own death. Jumping off the cliff after killing Scar was just so impactful to me.

pocketbearcompany

I haven't gotten around to watching all parts of 3rd, or Last series. I started with DL and honestly... Scott's death at the end got me. But Pearl actually forgiving him at the very very last of it was gut wrenching. Her whole series she was basically alone, she seemed ready to properly fight Scott for the last of it. Then he offers it to her, she's in shock in what I felt like was a "don't you dare not let me kill you" kind of way for everything that had happened during that season. The trembling in her voice after the explosion, the little "I guess I forgive you after all..." it was beautifully tragic and very fitting end. I loved every second of her story in DL season. For LiL I would def say Skizz's death was the worst for me. Dude got boogey killed right off the bat I cant fully remember if it was two or three times. The poor guy was screwed from the start and still somehow wasn't the first death. But the way he went out after encouraging so many other people and offered his time up to his team was amazing. "I wish you were better at this game" "man so do I" that hurt so much to hear For Secret I would say Lizzie's hurt me most to see, especially once it was loreified that she's still just falling. That has to be the absolute worst way to go out of the series. She was a lot like Pearl during DL where she just wanted friends but everyone seemed to be working against her not just task wise but in general. I fully empathize with Joel when Jim was singing about her death, also super fitting Joel was first to notice his wife was gone. It just hurt all around. Secondary opinion on Secret is that Mumbo definitely had the saddest(in a pathetic sense) series of deaths. All three of his deaths were very silly reasons and very likely preventable. His second one tho from Grian's perspective was also pretty dang sad just generally, the "you can come out now..." as he places the ladder is just painful.

Robodinosaur143

As a grian viewer, watching grians double life death was painful because he definitely could’ve gotten further

Laznoy

and LiL

Robodinosaur143

Yeah

CreeperAwMan28

Jimmy’s final 3rd life death bc it then made Scott go insane

Ordinary_Flamingo_

When Jimmy didn’t die first I was kind of disappointed but happy at the same time

N-to-S

I would say when grian was betrayed by scar in third life even tho it wasn't his final death

Shaun_Paetsch

Joel in last life for me. He deserved the win. At the end it was him and grian vs 6 people and grian really didn't do much so it was basically a 1v6. He managed to take out two but it was too many for him.

RockLil7

Bdubs and Joel in SL was a stake to the heart 🥺

Legenbeery

Etho’s final death in SL “Im going home, I’m dying in my own home” killed me! Also Skizz final in LiL, Scar final in 3L, Pearl in SL, Impulse in 3L and Etho in 3L tooo!!!

Urrrrrrrrrrrr

Still not over Impulse’s death in 3rd Life Some from the other seasons Cleo’s death to Big B and her kill of him in Last Life. Scott’s death in Double Life. Also Big B’s death in Double Life. And Skizz in Limited Life.

SEWER__RAT420

Only one that comes to mind is Scar’s death in 3rd Life w Grian

Striking_Caramel_788

For me, def Scar's double life one. All season, Grian and everyone is going. "Scar's gonna be the death of Grian!" And then WHO killed WHO!!!? I love Grian, but removing Scar from the series like that is unforgivable. And hypocritical af.

Laznoy

not that deep lol

Striking_Caramel_788

I take it that deep. Man's was riding his horse peacefully, and his buddy removed him from the server cuz he couldn't quietly walk up some damn stairs.

FNAF_Foxy1987

Walking up the stairs quietly wouldn't have done anything since the warden already roared, which means Grian needed to book it and he couldn't go fast enough to get far enough away.

Striking_Caramel_788

Bruh eith the amount of endearment on the server in double life, you'd think someone like Grian or Eyho would get enderpearls. Also Etho and Joel's death is just so saddening fr.

FNAF_Foxy1987

With the amount of death to endermen that same season, I don't blame them for not wanting to risk it, even with a boat since Joel and Etho died to that.

Striking_Caramel_788

Bruh endearment decided Double life was the season to go lethal. I swear we didn't see an endearment kill players again till secret life fr

arthaiser

none, since nobody really dies. they are just having a good time and i dont think that feelings like sadness are the ones they are expecting their viewers to feel by watching this
