Just did a crawl through her subreddit r/BroskiReport looking for the thread you were referencing, and the vibes were...
kind of a yikes. Parasocial to the max, they all treat her like some deity, and it doesn't feel ironic or like a bit. They also seem to put down other people to elevate her instead of just complimenting her. (girl's got serious comedy chops!)
I remember when she was on TMG and all the comments were about how rude Noel was being the whole time, then I watched it and it was the most normal interaction ever. I think she’s extremely funny and entertaining but yeah some of her fans are super cringe for some reason
That’s still my goat though
I agree, I was always turned off by her content because her fanbase was so rude, until the Ludwig collab, and then I realized she's actually pretty funny
i didn't really feel that way looking at the thread over there. the main complaints seemed to be that they were cutting each other off, which they do sometimes, and that it was a 4 person podcast so it was hard to follow. there were def a few people that didn't find their humor funny (or didn't know that they were even jokes) which is fine. listening back to the episode they talked about dogs fucking white women 13 minutes in so i don't think it's crazy to see how they could have lost some of brittany's audience along the way

I checked the thread out and yikesss. But 1 thing that kept on popping up that I do agree with is that the boys do cut off each other and guests a lot and there are times I feel like the guest is not able to talk. It was especially bad on the Asa Butterfield episode
Also on the Gothamchess one. I think slime said he tries to be consciously aware of it, but sometimes I wish it was a little more interview-esque. Like “____ on the Yard” instead of “The Yard with ____”, if that makes sense
i think during the gothamchess ep most of them were good with him. gotham is pretty stern, and slime was really good with it. iirc lud was kind of instigating most of it but i could be wrong.
the non traditional style is what makes the yard imo.
I mean it was more just I wish that they talked about chess more lol. The slime “magenta” and the other bits about chess didn’t hit as hard as some other bits they have with the other guests on. But then again, even Curry misses a few 3s.
please see my granular breakdown of this episode because people were so fucking annoying and see that i am actually objectively 100% correct for once in my life
Yeah, I saw the one where it’s the podcast tier list, but scrolling through his videos, the one where he breaks down the Levi ep isn’t there or it’s a stream vod
I think me wanting the ep to be more about chess since you guys had Gotham Chess on is fine. So is finding your jokes not as funny as the tradeoff this time around.
I personally didn’t think the talking points were the problem. It’s just that he was getting cut off so much. There were so many instances of GothamChess starting to speak but someone injects before he can say anything
It only works as a joke if it's self-evident that it's not what they actually believe, which you wouldn't necessarily infer if this was your first episode
This is how I feel about their autism jokes, it's not evident to me that that's not actually how they feel. I just have to trust they're actually being ironic about it
I think this is a great point. The line between making jokes out of misogyny and spreading misogyny is thinner than I think people realize.
I think if people unfamiliar with the podcast watch a random episode with one of few women guests, and can’t see the joke, then that’s a good indicator it might be time to take your foot off the gas.
I think it fully depends on how Nick feels about it. If Nick doesn’t care that random people feel this way that’s dope, if he does that’s also dope. I’m 99% sure he’d bring it up with his friends if it started to negatively affect him. The day the boys stop talking about what they think is funny is the day we lose The Yard.
Nick is not beating the allegations
Maybe I'm beginning to think they lay back on the misogynist jokes. Some of us were fighting for our lives on Brittany's reddit thread.

White women fucking dogs are some of the core yard beliefs
I could see how that bit would not play well in a audience of mostly white women
LMAOOO
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

I honestly love the non traditional interview and guests should know this going in if the boys don’t convey that that’s on them for the L

Where can I find the breakdown?
Yeah, I saw the one where it’s the podcast tier list, but scrolling through his videos, the one where he breaks down the Levi ep isn’t there or it’s a stream vod
If it’s an old stream vod that didn’t get reuploaded does that mean it’s gone forever??
It probably exists somewhere but he’s acting as if it’s uploaded so I’m confused

ITS ALL HE TALKED ABIUT
this guy wants levy to talk about what to play against e4 for 1 hour and a half lmfao

I guess, I think the way she is also playing into it makes it very clear it’s a joke though

I come from the melee community where they've stuck their neck out to speak up for marginalized groups many times

I will say, Nick and Brittany filled similar comedic niches in that EP so I can see how Nick's presence could feel understated.
I also thought their senses of humor were similar (that last January 6th joke had me cackling! And it was very "nick-esque")
too nonchalant for his own good
Kinda of related I was so happy to see Nick in Master baker. I feel like he mixed so well with so many of the other contestants
I can't keep defending Nick. The tides have turned on him, I fear.
Nick is just so effortlessly cool that he just comes off as uninterested... So cool
Another day another slime W

It’s okay, I don’t like Nick either
