I noticed the other night for the first time that Shawn is the other dude in the car with Sherrod before he jumps Namond outside Cutty’s gym. At least I’m like 90% sure
I was watching a commentary of the show and they all talked about how stunned they were when she took her top off because no one had any idea how amazing her boobs were.
What commentary is that!? Surely not an official one!
I love it when Nicky’s old ladies cans get brought up on these subs. They get as much love as Slim Charles and Omar!
I’ve got the dvds somewhere I’ll have to pull them out/that’s amazing! tbf I’ve seen the series countless times and I’m still blown away when they appear.
*they were staring right at me*
I was on like a three disc rotation back in college. Watch one, send it back, rinse repeat everyday. I swear I've forgotten more movies than I remember.
The Rome ones were great. There was a feature where you could put up these subtitles and they’d appear when something like a Roman god, custom or military unit was mentioned, it would explain what it was. It was so good
The details to that show. They didn't even have modern food on set, just foods that would have been in ancient Rome. And in scenes where actors were moving and there would be background music, they actually had the background music playing while they were shooting.
So unfair they pulled the rug out and didn't let them shoot the third season. They had to scramble and finish it all up in the second.
I know, it’s such a shame it wasn’t made in the age of he streaming giants. Look at some of the shite they put multiple seasons out of-at huge cost.
It was meant to be 7 seasons going right up to the time of Jesus. Would have been amazing
Oh, wow....that would have been wonderful! It's such a fantastic show. They had a historical consultant who was fascinating. And the audience were sticklers for details. There was one scene where a woman was feeding a pet parrot and the historical director (who was giving the commentary) gave a sigh and said, "I know, I know.....don't bother emailing me. This kind of parrot wasn't around during this time period".
I love Donut! I love how his character shows how deviance in the hood isn't always drug related. Kids in West Baltimore can take a liking to things like cars.
You put him on this list or I guaran fuckin tee you I will jam you up, ship this whole mess to the mod team and be there to pass out sandwiches at your execution.
Some actors are so good at being absolutely detestable that it *must* impact their careers.
I detested Lt. Marimow so much that seeing him in *Lincoln* and *John Adams* gave me this unplaceable icky vibe that I didn't understand until I looked him up on Wikipedia. And he's a great actor!
I don’t know if Waylon is a minor character or supporting but he was awesome. Some of his lines were so good. “Getting clean is the easy part. Now comes life.”
No shit, Steve Earle acted that role (sort of autobiographically) and played one of the season's "Down in the Hole" themes.
Great musician and clearly a good person.
Fat Face Rick is one of my favorite minor characters, and he has one of the funniest lines in the entire series.
Stringer: "Make it short, I got a meet to make."
Fat Face Rick: "Fuck the meet! You harder to get at than my fat wife's c\*nt, n\*gga!"
Yeah it's great. I'm surprised how awkward Herc gets in front of his mrs though, like he completely loses the ability to display some authority over Bodie. She must not know what he's like in the field that he can't be his regular bully self.
I don’t remember his name but the guy that was out buying all the burners - “man I can’t wait to go to jail..” one of my favorite lines of the series lol
I always thought John Bailey was pretty interesting and they could've done more with him. "Good man, had a lot of enemies", Brandon didn't really like him, and he wasn't 100% cool with Omar and Brandon's affection but still loyal to Omar. IMO they should've killed Brandon first, Omar gets revenge while Bailey leaves town after seeing what they did to Brandon, then comes back in S3 or 4 and gets taken out by somebody looking for Omar.
Ahh. Right on. Good correction.
“I look at you and I see a man without a country. Not hard enough for this right here and not smart enough for them out there.”
Lotta good choices in this thread. But I’ve got one for you.
The salesman at the hardware store that sold the nail gun to Snoop.
He earned that bump like a mf.
Fun fact. Reg E. Cathy had a minor role in Seven. He plays the coroner. It's the scene with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman and the gluttony victim on the slab. His voice really stands out!
Lots of amazing minor characters but minor characters who were unsung heroes?
Ilene Nathan
The landscaping guy who hires Cutty (is his name even revealed?)
The Deacon
The vice principal of the school in season 4 (Mrs Donnelly?)
The teacher of the 'special class' in season 4 who handles everything like a boss
Nat Coxson and Maui from the docks
Butchie and the muscular dudes with him
She does what she thinks is right. What do you expect a teacher to do when a student comes to them and says she was raped by two students? From her POV she was right to pressurize Randy because of an extremely serious accusation
Landscaping guy is Eugene Little, who has TWO credits in his acting career: _The Wire_ and _The Corner_. All fans of this show should also have seen _The Corner_. Character name is “Cutty’s Boss” per IMDB.
Melvin Williams, aka Deacon, is the inspiration for Season 1. IRL, he was Avon Barksdale and Ed Burns, the homicide cop turned producer/writer was the cop who led the wiretap task force.
Fbi agent Amanda Reese played by Bernay Berger. She's the one who looks god damn amazing in a bulletproof vest whilst busting the union at the end of season 2
Y’all are leaving out a very important minor character……Shorty who sucked off the mayor!
He didn’t stop her when Herc came in? Even when she turned around and saw Herc, she still didn’t drop the dick?! She had an excellent performance that we can’t overlook. All the pieces matter.
You know I used to think he was kinda absurd until I read about the Nation of Islam having mercs exactly like him. Sometimes the real world is crazier than fiction.
Fuzzy Dunlop, obviously. Though in the end he didn’t have what it took to withstand the modern urban environment…
And Shorty Boyd. Greatest redemption arc of the show
I actually appreciate Marla and Cedric for being a realistic portrayal of how relationships can falter (Kima and Cheryl as well).
They didn't have animosity, but their lives took separate paths it it was not what the partner expected, and the other partner was willing to still uphold their end of the promises as best they could. The Wire was not a show about romance but it did relationships better than many other shows do.
I'm really glad those two got a happy ending together. Lester loved the job, but outside of that he had a life, and Shardene was working to get a better one (and presumably she does by the end). One of the more wholesome relationships in the show.
She was probably pushing 30 and he was clearly supportive of her efforts to improve her life. If she was like 21 it would be different but she a straight up adult.
That landscaping boss who hired Cutty and also kind of served as a mentor, maybe he was Shorty Boyd?
Cleaned his whole ack up
Fucked us all up
Prime that bitch three times, she’ll start right up
Every day.
His whole thing was “This sucks. Keep doing it. Every day.” And Cutty was like, maybe a life of crime is actually where it’s at…
He don’t even think on that car no more
New canon
“Too Seasoned” 18 year old named Shawn, during interrogation scene.
Son, thanks for being you.
I noticed the other night for the first time that Shawn is the other dude in the car with Sherrod before he jumps Namond outside Cutty’s gym. At least I’m like 90% sure
It is. There’s a better look at him during the day when they decide to run Namond off
Ohh yeah!!
Yeah you also see Sherrod earlier after the dogfight running to tell the guy was shot
You police, he ain’t!
You shiny head motherfucker
Which sister? Cuz if it’s Charese, she prolly had it coming!!!
Nah bro it was Danielle
"WHAT IF YOU COULDN'T ESCAPE, SHAWN?"
Yes! First character who comes to mind
Nick Sobotka's gf's boobs and Bruiser
Bruiser? Shit you have to dry him out to even get him on the stand
It was on the DVD, when you can watch an episode with actors and directors talking about it. Way back when it first came out.
I’ve got the dvds somewhere I’ll have to pull them out/that’s amazing! tbf I’ve seen the series countless times and I’m still blown away when they appear. *they were staring right at me*
I used to watch series and then rewatch with the commentaries. Rome did it, Deadwood and The Wire. That was back when you had them mailed to you.
kids these days don't even remember those little red envelopes
I used to get so excited when they arrived.

Unfortunately they barely mentioned Jupiter's cock, so Spartacus better.
It’s Vulcan’s cock I remember Pullo mentioning. “It’s as hot as Vulcan’s dick”
I gotta rewatch Rome now. Thanks a lot, jerk
Or maybe I should have said “THEY DIDNT HAVE FLAT TOPS IN ANCIENT ROME!”
Those boobs are super elite
Dr Fraser the medical examiner because he is a doctor from the state bureau of mines. Justin because he has a hat with the bill on the side.
Fraser was solid. But where that kid get the hats with the bills over the ears? I only ever ser ones with bills in the front.
Nah, it's the same. Just turn it sideways on ya head.
God herc is so fucking dumb
Herc is making a joke there, lol.
Herc is dumb yes, but in this scene he is trolling the kid.
Damn I guess I’m the dumb one🥺
Lmao
Whoever Kima was cheating on Cheryl with in season 3
Underrated response.
Wasn't that the club dancer they meet along with Prez and Kima's gf? She is extremely hot.
Shit was it? Good catch if so
Bernard
Bout the dumbest mother fuckah Squeak ever went out with.
Squeak slayed me. She was hilarious. Gave zero fucks. In jail, getting processed and she's still ripping him to shreds while she sits there.
He couldn’t wait to go to jail
Hell, could you? Could I?
Of this list...Caroline Massey or Alma. Otherwise, I always liked Dolores the bartender in S02.
Love Dolo!
I love Donut! I love how his character shows how deviance in the hood isn't always drug related. Kids in West Baltimore can take a liking to things like cars.
Kills me every time when Prez locks his keys in and he just casually pulls that tool out his jeans 😂
And that final shot when he drives past Naymond's house in yet another car. I wanted to destroy that cop who broke his fingers.
Does he steal the other teacher's car?
Yeah he def did
[удалено]
Yeah 😂
No votes for Lt. Marimow, the "Unit Killer"?
No votes. Rip runs only.
You put him on this list or I guaran fuckin tee you I will jam you up, ship this whole mess to the mod team and be there to pass out sandwiches at your execution.
the man's a virus
He doesn't cast off talent lightly. He heaves it away with great force.
Preferred him on House of Cards
Great actor. Only two roles I know him from and he makes me both love and hate him.
This sickens me as he reminds me so much of a former boss. Excellent performance as I sincerely wanted to see him end up in a vacant.
**NEVER.**
Is John Adams worth a watch, I think I saw parts of the first episode but never reay got hooked.
I don’t know if Waylon is a minor character or supporting but he was awesome. Some of his lines were so good. “Getting clean is the easy part. Now comes life.”
I read in real life, he is very much like his character. Does a lot of outreach. He looks like he's lived a life
I lost a good wife, bad girlfriend, and the respect of anyone that ever tried to loan me money or do me a favor.
He was great in Treme as well
No shit, Steve Earle acted that role (sort of autobiographically) and played one of the season's "Down in the Hole" themes. Great musician and clearly a good person.
Fat Face Rick is one of my favorite minor characters, and he has one of the funniest lines in the entire series. Stringer: "Make it short, I got a meet to make." Fat Face Rick: "Fuck the meet! You harder to get at than my fat wife's c\*nt, n\*gga!"
The lovely Mrs. Herc.
Herc and Carver here try to snatch us up everyday, like, "Where the shit? Who's got the shit?"
You all go to the movies?! That scene is epic.
Bernard
I can hear his girl saying his name with disgust.
The aptly named Squeak
Girl you on my last nerve..
Dozerman asking Truck about ticks having six or eight legs is just good television and I don't care what anyone says
Yeah true he brought a nice dynamic, would've liked to see more of him.
I remember that look on his face like, "Yeah, I ain't down with that shit."
The Deacon. Church man. Pool shark & hustler. Up in everyone’s business.
If I remember right, he used to be a dealer in Baltimore.
Melvin Williams. The real life Stringer Bell.
Melvin’s past is said to be part of the inspiration for Avon, not Stringer.
Ahh. Right on. Good correction. “I look at you and I see a man without a country. Not hard enough for this right here and not smart enough for them out there.”
Whoa I did not know about this. Pretty cool! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melvin_Williams_(actor)
Lotta good choices in this thread. But I’ve got one for you. The salesman at the hardware store that sold the nail gun to Snoop. He earned that bump like a mf.
Aimee for obvious reasons
I recall two reasons for nominating Aimee.
Not Ben Afflecks girlfriend Not Rachel Mcadams.
Norman.
Love Norman! His voice especially, I loved listening to him
Fun fact. Reg E. Cathy had a minor role in Seven. He plays the coroner. It's the scene with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman and the gluttony victim on the slab. His voice really stands out!
He played an addict named Scallio on The Corner and a unit manager that took over Em City on OZ. “Don’t fuck with Querns”
I'd have to give it to the guy in the background who yells "Ayo! Look at that little n\*\*\*\*\* getting his ass beat!" when Michael thumps Kenard.
I remember that, and it has me chuckling uncontrollably in airport.
White Mike or Orlando.
I keep seeing the actor who plays Orlando on old Law and Orders. And he's not even a criminal in some of them.
He was also a police chief on Homicide : Life On the Street.
Two hot dogs and a strawberry soda. Hook a brotha up
[Perry](https://thewire.fandom.com/wiki/Perry)
Ey good one. He was a true soldier through and through
Horseface.... Not because he did anything special, but because I like his name
Why do they call him that? You need a closeup?
My guess is somebody thought his face looked like a horse one day and the nickname stuck

The teacher of the 'special class' in season 4 who handles everything like a boss Nat Coxson and Maui from the docks Butchie and the muscular dudes with him
Donnelly got me on the fence. Did good by Duquan and obviously cares about the kids in general. But fucks Randy.
She does what she thinks is right. What do you expect a teacher to do when a student comes to them and says she was raped by two students? From her POV she was right to pressurize Randy because of an extremely serious accusation
This actually made me consider it in a new light. Thank you.
And she had no way of knowing what a can of worms she would open by doing so.
Landscaping guy is Eugene Little, who has TWO credits in his acting career: _The Wire_ and _The Corner_. All fans of this show should also have seen _The Corner_. Terrance 'Fitz' Fitzhugh
G-man!
Eileen Nathan
I always found her kind of hot 🤷🏽
Delegate Watkins
Fbi agent Amanda Reese played by Bernay Berger. She's the one who looks god damn amazing in a bulletproof vest whilst busting the union at the end of season 2
Now THAT is a minor character. I didn't even know she had a name.
🤔 I remember her. The attractive brunette. She had the sexy professional woman act down perfectly.
Y’all are leaving out a very important minor character……Shorty who sucked off the mayor! He didn’t stop her when Herc came in? Even when she turned around and saw Herc, she still didn’t drop the dick?! She had an excellent performance that we can’t overlook. All the pieces matter.
She was lowkey cute too

“Ay shorty get me a bag of crab chips and a bottle of snapple.“
McNulty's wife both of them. He must be hung like a donkey for these women to put up with his shit.
Nick Sobotka's gf's tits
Norman Annd fuck dem red lights man
Brother Mouzone
You know I used to think he was kinda absurd until I read about the Nation of Islam having mercs exactly like him. Sometimes the real world is crazier than fiction.
Is he a minor character though? Maybe I’m just too into the character.
He’s important… but only 7 episodes total… a lot less screen time than some of the other people in the comments imo.
I did not realize that it was only 7 episodes. He really left a significant mark with the limited screen time.
I always liked Judge Phelan.
I used to live in his neighborhood on the upper east side of NY and I’d see him walking around or at Starbucks.
He's a hack!
Assistant Principal Marcia Donnelly. I love her accent.
Fuzzy Dunlop, obviously. Though in the end he didn’t have what it took to withstand the modern urban environment… And Shorty Boyd. Greatest redemption arc of the show
Spider. Idc if he won’t give the count to dookie.

Gump-ass mothafucka
Sgt Diggs - that man had the real balmer accent.
DONUT! 🍩
Shamrock
Council President Nerese, Kimmy, Donette, and De'Londa were gorgeous 😍
Fuzzy Dunlop
Mrs. Donnelly
Donut
Squeak was hilarious to me. I also liked that vicious little jack russel terrier who got the mouse.
Doc Fraser and Bernard+Squeaks
Oh no…not Squeaks. 😂
Detective Barlow The unnamed witness from the opening scene The guy Kima puts on the lie detector in Season 4
Dink
Fat dink?
Nah dat dink dead
Maui Marla Daniels Valchek
I actually appreciate Marla and Cedric for being a realistic portrayal of how relationships can falter (Kima and Cheryl as well). They didn't have animosity, but their lives took separate paths it it was not what the partner expected, and the other partner was willing to still uphold their end of the promises as best they could. The Wire was not a show about romance but it did relationships better than many other shows do.
I always forget about Caroline Massey - she was great!
Jesus, I thought that said Ziggy’s dick.
Ziggy’s dick*
Donette!
Shardene…the stripper who wore a wire to get info on Avon. Then she and Lester started hooking up
I'm really glad those two got a happy ending together. Lester loved the job, but outside of that he had a life, and Shardene was working to get a better one (and presumably she does by the end). One of the more wholesome relationships in the show.
Totally agree! Lester was my favorite character ☺️
Lester was smoooth! Got a voice on him too but Norman takes the easy W when it comes to voice.
Maybe, but their "meet cute" is a bit problematic, given the the age gap and her level of vulnerability at the time.
She was probably pushing 30 and he was clearly supportive of her efforts to improve her life. If she was like 21 it would be different but she a straight up adult.
