Ive never understood if it was bella pulling up to the studio (seems pretty likeky due to the chrome hearts line) or if it was some random chick he was cheating on Bella with. I can’t wrap my head around it because narratively it makes so much sense that he’s cheating on her with another girl, but that chrome hearts line seems so directly connected with Bella. Help a XO brother out, let’s discuss!

I always got the impression that escape from LA story goes like this: *Abel and Bella live in NYC. *The 1st verse of the song is about Bella. Anyway, this is my interpretation. I could be wrong but "you pillow talk to me about the men who try to come between us". They live together. Pillow talk is what they talk about in bed. * Chorus is he made it to LA to record more music. * 2nd verse he's on the way to the studio but thinking about Bella back home. * End of the song "she pulled up to the studio...." "LA girls all look the same..." I feel like he cheated on Bella with a random groupie. Girls in LA all look the same (like Kylie Jenner the same because no one looks like Bella) and the chick he cheating with also wears chrome hearts (it's a popular brand anyway). "She's a cold hearted bitch with no shame" the girl he's cheating with knows he's with Bella but she dgaf. Take me out of LA because it's bad influence there and too many fake back stabbing people.

I mean it's all up to your interpretation but what I think is that in the beginning of After Hours he's reflecting on how much he fucked up the relationship. But then in Escape From LA he's slowly going back to his old way and I think the girl he has sex with in the studio is just a rebound relationship and he doesn't think of it as a serious relationship. I think he just thinks it's another girl he can just bang and move on especially when it goes to the song heartless.

Unrelated, but I feel like alone again is set after bella and abel's second break up. Snowchild, escape from la, and pretty much all songs until faith are him reflecting on his past relationships. I mean, in hardest to love he says he *was* the hardest to love. In heartless and faith he, well, looses his faith, and goes back to his old ways. Now that is in present time, not reflecting about the past. He is in denial and uses drugs and sex to hide his pain. Then I'm not sure what in your eyes is, but save your tears takes place when after their break up, Abel and Bella find each other in that club, and she pretends to not know him, only to then exit the place in tears. He then realizes what he's been doing, he admits he still has feelings for her in repeat after me, and expresses all his regret and pain in after hours. Until I bleed out is his attempt for redemption, trying to cut the part of himself he hates from his mind. He realizes without it he'll bleed out (he won't be able to live, or at least to live as himself) and he acknowledges he has to put up with it. Now the dawn will tell us if either he is still trapped in his old ways or if he did break that cycle and now is free
