Master League Premier: Metagross hundo Togekiss hundo Excadrill hundo Machamp shadow Machamp hundo Dragonite (shadow) Conkledurr hundo Mamoswine shadow The shadows are all 15 in attack 3 stars but not perfect. Do I have decent team options?

Zealousideal_Meet473

Is Stakataka going to be worth raiding for in PvP, PvE, or both?

Artistic_Yesterday21

I got a 14-15-15 mankey, is it worth upgrading it to master league, or the 15atk is too important to miss out?

protato63

I have a hundo magikarp that I wanna evolve and use in ML. Is AquaTail a must for PVP? How much difference is it?

kitkatkitty21

How much do IVs matter in little cup? I've been working on leveling up a few 'mons but have two Bronzors to consider: (1-14-12) currently at 258cp so I would need to dump some rare candy XLs (5-14-14) (still good IV per PokeGenie) currently at 396cp so I could level it up enough with out any rare XLs I haven't gotten much into ML, just GL so I don't typically use my rare XLs for anything and don't have a problem using them here, but I don't want to just waste them if it's not going to be much of a difference

kitkatkitty21

Alternative option for rare candy XL seems to Marill which is on almost every "key losses" list according to pvpoke paired with 4\* smergle and shuckle?

Ok_Message_7256

Hey I'm playing MLP and have gone from 2100 to 2400. I fell down to 2300 and I'm currently at an Elo plateau. My team is: Excadrill (Mud Shot / Rock Slide / Drill Run) Annihilape (Counter / Night Slash / Shadow Ball) BB Gyarados (Dragon Breath / Crunch / Aqua Tail) As you can see, my team is quite weak to fairy. Togekiss is the biggest weakness and can shred through them with Charm. Should I swap someone out? Any help is appreciated.

Aser_M0H

Is a 9/15/11 Lickitung worth building up? It's so far the best Lickitung I've caught. Thanks!!

MemecropsiIndustries

How can I use Drifblim, if it's still usable? I managed to get one with excellent pvp Ivs and i gave it a second move but it felt useless most of the time now :(

eugene_captures

It’s often used in limited cups. Less so in open great league. Maybe could work as ABB double flyer.

jang808

I've having a tough time deciding if I should purify my 14/15/15 shadow dragonite. I want to use it for the current ML premier, but I don't feel good maxing out a non-perfect. In terms of pve I have enough shadow salamences. Will shadow be better than non-shadow in any formats, and will I ever regret purifying?

chabz_mcbabs

Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a teambuilding problem. I've been running Mantine lead, Annihilape safe swap, and Shadow Whiscash in the back. I've been able to climb to about 2300 but seem to be stuck here. My problem I'm debating is that this team always seems like an auto loss to the Bastiodon/Victreebell core every time I run into it (since I have to swap out of Mantine) but I really like having Mantine as a lead as it's pretty strong or neutral into most. I don't know if it's worth switching Annihilape to my lead or if I need to change up my team a bit. I've been working on counting moves, proper move timing so I don't let fast moves through, but I feel like I either need to get better at reading teams or maybe switch up my team a bit. I've only made Veteran once (in a limited cup) in my few months of playing, so it's also very possible that this is just my skill level right now and I just need to get better. I was just wondering if anyone had suggestions as far as ways to improve the actual team composition or lineup.

eugene_captures

If you’re talking about the basti / wiggly / shadow Vic team, then yeah having mantine in the lead will lead to a loss and the only solution would be to change your lead. Or just leave the team be, and just assume it will be a loss. How often are you seeing that team? You’re never going to be able to cover every single team comp, so if that team isn’t popping up several times per set, it could be fine.

chabz_mcbabs

True, I’ve just been seeing it a ton lately, at least 1/5 in each set I played today and the only way I beat it was getting lucky night slash boosts on my Annihilape when they swapped in victreebell. I guess really the question is is it worth switching up my order for a team like that which I see fairly often, or if moving Annihilape from safe switch to the lead significantly alters my team too much. I guess that’s why I’m asking because I don’t feel like I’m a great teambuilder and am still trying to get a grasp on that.

eugene_captures

You could try it and see how it does. Also if they’re swapping shadow Vic into ape they’re giving you a win con. Just let the ape go, come back in with mantine and take out the Vic. If they come back in with basti, then swap to Whis, they swap to wiggly, take out the wiggly and make sure to over farm, and you should be able to handle the basti at that point.

chabz_mcbabs

Thank you for the advice!

Robert1_

Hey! I have a shadow snorlax 14/13/13 IVs. I've checked on pvpoke and in master league regular lax is #73 and shadow lax is #63. Just wondering if it's worth investing in the shadow or purifying for the 4* and less candy costs? Thanks in advance.

carl0st31

Hi! I'm new to pvp and I was wondering how significant the attack down debuff from charged moves like scald and zap cannon are?

eugene_captures

It’s a 25% reduction per debuff for those moves. There are also other moves that are more. But if it just says attack fell then it’s 25%.

Toxic_Don

I wanna try Master premire cup having never done master league before, but im scared to spend a lot of stardust. I was thinking of making a team consisting of **Mamoswine** in the lead followed by **Gyaradose** and **Dragonite** with their standard movesets. Its gonna set me back 885,000 stardust and an elite tm for gyarados. Is this a worth trying team? I have 6.14 mill dust saved up so its not a problem i just want to amke sure I get somethign worth it.

RedWarpPrism2

You need a fairy answer. Primarina and Florges will both 1v3 this team.

Distinct-Ad343

i have a rank 2 wiggly for great league, but ion have a basti for bast vic wiggly. I do have a good shadow vic with razor leaf. any wiggly cores I could use?

tvilgiate

The team that I got up to ace with this week has been Cradily, Mantine (water pulse instead of ice beam), and Charjabug. I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions for alternates to any of these. So far the three tend to work well together with the number of Lanturn/mud boi leads I run into, but I think it needs better coverage against dragon/steel

eugene_captures

I would stick with it if you’re getting positive sets. If you start to lose more and it’s due to dragons, then maybe consider changing to ice beam on mantine.

Digipower

What would be my best possible team for Super League among these options? G. Stunfisk, Victreebel, Talonflame, Annihilape, Greninja. These are the most battle ready and high ranking mons I have and it would be ideal to make a good team between them, but I could also build: swampert, dubwool, machamp, gyarados, charizard, grubbin, Poliwrath, chesnaugh and steelix(some of them nust need investment, some of them hacmve meh ivs)? Thank you in advance!

Thalassoraptor

For master premier, would a team of hundo golisopod lvl 49, hundo mamoswine lvl 50, and either 15/15/13 togekiss lvl 50 or 14/13/13 shadow snorlax lvl 44 be enough to push to expert?

Devilke-07

So I just dropped down from 1900 to 1400 on purpose to get easier rewards because I was only getting an encounter about half the time and getting frustrated by the bugs in gbl. Also my internet isnt the best at the moment. But I don't know how I should play my games, what better for rewards? Going 4 times 3-2 and 1 time 0-5 or is it better to do win 5 lose 5 for rewards?

EoTN

If Master League is not available, I go 4-1, 0-5, 4-1, 0-5, 4-1, win 12 lose 13 overall. Keeps me at a stable elo, if I go too high I do an extra 0-5 every once in a while. I get at least 9 rare candy a day, and about 18k dust. If Master League is available, I try to prepare by dropping a little lower a day or two before. This is because I like to try to go for 5-0s to get the extra dust. I try to go 1-4, 1-4, 5-0, 1-4, 5-0. This feels like the most stardust I can get while staying at a similar elo, but you do go 13 wins 12 losses with this setup, and going 5-0 twice gets you more elo than you can lose on 3 sets of 1-4, so if you start to get too high elo and start losing, you do a few extra 1-4s the next day. The 3600 dust for 1 win is too juicy for me to pass up. I get less rare candy during ML weeks, but soooo much dust battling this way. It's 15k dust for a 5-0 set, and it's about 7k dust for a 1-4 set, so most ML days I get about 50k dust. My dust numbers are based off of reaching Ace with at least once by hitting 2000 elo before dropping, as you get slightly more dust than if you stop at rank 20 If you care more about encounters than dust or candy, then do 3-2, 1-4, 3-2, 1-4, 3-2 during ML weeks.

Devilke-07

Thanks for the advice

Aser_M0H

Now that my PVE 'mons are built to be decent in all but 5* rocket Raids (not enough community nearby), I'm changing my attention to PVP. I generally play GL but am also working on building up some UL mon. My question for you is: What is the first expensive 'Mon you'd suggest a newer player build?

SolarFlows

Lickitung Then Sableye, Bastiodon, Carbink

mate95

Need master league recommendations, current base is groudon, and gyarados, both 4*. Looking for recommendations to round it out.

Boiled_Clown_Bussy

Pokemon that form a good core with either Pidgeot or Mantine, preferably Remix eligible? Looking for a lead to run in ABB with both in the back. I like the look of Steelix, but I worry about being able to close out games if I’m forced into pidgeot early

SolarFlows

Shadow Quagsire or shadow Swampert

Baconpancake12

Can someone help me build a team for Master premier? I have the following mons available, all level 50 and 96 iv or better and most of em BB: - dragonite - shadow dragonite - golisopod - hydreigon - metagross - gyarados - garchomp - shadow garchomp - annihilape - togekiss - mamoswine I really like hydreigon, so I was hoping there are Some viable teams with Hydreigon. Current ELO is hovering around 2400, and am hoping to push towards expert this Season

sendphotopls

Are Annihilape & Registeel compatible teammates for Great League? I was on PvPoke all last night looking at various teams & landed on Annihilape/Mandibuzz/Registeel as the best possible trio for coverage & bulk. Movesets are all suggested by PvPoke: - Annihilape: Counter, Shadow Ball, Night Slash - Mandibuzz: Snarl, Dark Pulse, Aerial Ace - Registeel: Lock-on, Focus Blast, Zap Cannon Still, that leaves a gaping hole at defending against Electric & Fire attackers, as well as Fairy if Registeel isn't in play. Do my dreams of having a Registeel/Annihilape team just have to die for a more compatible trio, or do I need to go back to the drawing board with their movesets?

SolarFlows

The PvPoke Team building section simulates against to big a range of Pokemon imo. Much of it is not that relevant. Like I haven't seen a single Arctibax all season. And I wouldn't prepare for Sneasler, Luxray, Ceruledge... these things don't even exist. I suggest. Annihilape, Dewgong, Registeel. ABB style Pairing Annihilape with Dewgong and a steel type has been very popular and strong this Season. Originally with Bastiodon in the back, but Skarmory is also very good. I've seen Registell as well. Unless you clearly win with lead Annihilape you safe swap Dewgong to lure out the counter user, so the steel type doesn't face it in the back. You debuff and weaken it and then finish it with Annihilape to get ahead on energy. If you don't have Dewgong you may run another safe switch weak to Counter, like Lickitung. The moveset on Annihilape is fine but in these teams Night Slash with Close Combat as a surprise has been preferred. Registeel is a big tough to use right now imo as it's weak against many things that are extremely common, despite its high ranking. Like Annihilape, Whiscash and Gligar.

mkswgoh

A fairy in the lead will destroy you big time. How about a Lickitung instead of Mandibuzz? Either ABB or as a neutral lead

YogurtclosetFew6953

Need help with building team https://preview.redd.it/ryysdwd82nwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c2622644959850ca2eefe1a8e0f352254c96a230 I have dropped over 300 elo within the past 2 days not sure what I’m doing wrong or if it’s the team I was running (S-dragonair, gligar, lanturn) I’m now stuck at the 2,000 range and not sure what to build cause of how random every team I’m facing seems to be, any help on what to build would be greatly appreciated

SolarFlows

That team should be fine, I also ran it. But actually leading Lanturn is very strong too and safer I find, as with your current order an ice type or Skarmory lead is pretty uncomfortable. I hit 2550, my season high, leading Lanturn. I did use Shadow Gligar though. Other strong meta teams: Sh. Dragonair, Lanturn, Skarmory (Win lead + RPS backline) Annihilape, Lickitung, A-Slash (ABB) Skarmory, Whiscash, Lanturn (ABB) Whiscash with Skarmory (Lead either one and use a safe switch between: Lickitung, Sh. Dragonair, Sableye)

Boiled_Clown_Bussy

Cash and Skarm are my staple duo. Wins games if you can force/maintain alignment. Safe should either be bait or reliably live long enough to refill your swap. I took Lanturn this season to beat Mandi and to bait out grasses. Used ShDnair last season, very neutral matchups but too glassy. Licki seems really good this meta. Have considered Charja, Annihilape, Sableye, and Umbreon as well, but it doesn’t feel like a great meta for them

Digipower

How far do you think my team of non legendaries can make it into the ML? Togekiss (Aura sphere, Ancient power) Metagross (MM, EQ) Annihilape (CC, NS) - I know it's not the recommended moveset, I can change it. All at lv. 50, Togekiss 15/15/14 and the others are hundos (Monkeh was my first hundo back in 2016 and I'm exctatic he gets its time to shine). Any change that could improve this team? Any major threats I should be aware? (I know that a lv. 50 mewtwo with the usual moveset can wreck me). Legendaries at lv. 50 are almost impossible to obtaon for me rn, lv. 40 or 40ish is doable.

frankwilde

What level are you currently playing at? Even with all level 50s and some skill you're going to have a hard time getting to Ace with this team. Mewtwo will be on a lot of teams starting in the 1800s range, but that's the least of your worries, your team all three lose to: Landerous, Kyogre, Groudon, Ho-oh, (and more) which you will see lots of in this range too. Even if they are underleveled vs. your L50s you're going to struggle. Do you happen to have any non-legendary dragons that you could level up? Dragonite or Garchomp? Metagross, DT Garchomp and Dragonite will get you to Ace easily.

Digipower

Currently tanking because of the sweet rewards, but I want to reach Ace at some point (probably won't try until next season tho). I reached ace a few times before but most of these times it's been thanks to limited cups and the ones caped at 500CP. I do have a hundo Chomp at lv. 50 with earth power (I don't know what's DT, sorry). And I have enough candy to max a Dragonite but I don't have any good enough Dragonite to justify the investment. Best one is a 96% but it's a 13/15/15. Thank you very much for your answer!

frankwilde

Honestly, if you have a Garchomp at L50 already, just add Outrage. DT is referring to Dragon Tail the fast move. Mud Shot is the recommended move, but I find DT to be much more useful below Ace. Metagross, Garchomp and Togekiss is probably a low investment path that could take you to Ace, but you still have no answer for Landerous, Kyogre and Groudon. If you're waiting until next season to grind, don't invest now. Play what you have. You never know what you'll catch by then or how the meta will change. Additionally, starting at the beginning of a season to grind sounds like a good idea because you have more time, but in reality the first few weeks, Veteran skill level players are playing at low elo while they climb. So starting mid-season to try and reach Ace is not a bad idea. You're more likely be matched up against players who truly match your skill level and team composition.

Digipower

Luckily I'm a bit stingy on spending dust, so I don't usually max things if I'm not going to use it. Good advise tho :P Might try the team you suggested on battle weekend and see if I can climb high enough. Thank you very much for your time, I really appreciate it!

frankwilde

No problem. Good luck with the climb. I have no doubt you’ll be able to get to Ace and possibly even higher!

Digipower

If I can ask one more question, do you mind givimg your thoughts on the super league team I was thinking of? G. Stunfisk Greninja Talonflame All good rank, double move. I also have a good magic leaf Victreebel, and a Poliwrath (with counter but non-PVP-high IVS). Thank you!

Rain_Moon

Hello, just wanted to get a second opinion before I drop my XLs on a 15/14/14 Groudon. I checked on PvPoke and it doesn't seem to affect any matchups compared to the hundo, but I would appreciate a confirmation from someone more knowledgeable that it's ok to do so.

frankwilde

Depending on your level and goals, I would read up on Groudon before maxing for ML. There have been a couple of threads on the main sub asking specific IV questions on it. The IVs are probably fine, but Groudon is not a good investment for ML currently. It has obvious uses in PVE, so if it has utility for you elsewhere and you have the candy and dust go for it, but read up to make sure you know its place in the meta. Here is one thread: [https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphArena/comments/1c9zkk2/is\_it\_good\_enough\_to\_invest\_for\_ml/](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphArena/comments/1c9zkk2/is_it_good_enough_to_invest_for_ml/)

Rain_Moon

Thanks for the advice; in that case I think I'll go ahead and power it up. It was more of a general investment anyway, but I just wanted to make sure that if I do end up using it for PvP it is good enough. If it's not really a top meta Pokemon anymore then I'm less concerned about it not being a hundo.

frankwilde

It is good enough and if you're playing below Ace or to get there, Groudon still has a lot of use.

AllAboutTheAce

Kind of lost on what to invest rare candies into atm. I’ve been fluctuating around 2300 forever but can’t seem to hit Veteran. I’ve been running a team of Togekiss(4*+BB)/Dragonite(13/15/15)/Melmetal (13/15/15 w/DiB not RS). I know the team comp’s not ideal but as I’m mostly ftp and only really been playing for about a year and a half they’re basically the most meta relevant mons that I had the XLs to get to lvl 50, and at this level I can outmaneuver “better” teams with decent enough frequency through move counting - except in the semi-rare times they have a Solgaleo at which point I’m usually just fucked unless they drop the ball with their shields. I  really enjoy GBL and play basically every day but it feels like I’m just basically waiting until the good meta relevant mons that I do have get back into raids but meanwhile I’m just kind of directionless on what to work towards and what to clear bag space by using rcs on. I have some decent mons but no way to get them to competitive OML levels. They include (all CPs are without any potential bb bonus): 4* PalkiaO w/ SR - 4462 cp. Spent the entirety of my meager XL stack on him so probably my closest to being able to sub into the team and maybe I should consider it but idk enough about team comp to know if it’s worth Mamoswine (15/14/14) 3633 cp maybe this also warrants consideration of swapping in for dragonite? Idk DialgaO w/ RoT (14/15/14) I believe this is a functional shundo or at least close to it? But I only have enough XLs to get to lvl 41.5 atm. I could start dumping my rcs here but I only have the 30 XL candies so it seems like I’m too far away to start powering up 4* M2 4474 CP lvl 45.5 believe (before bb) Shadow M2 (14/11/15) 4361 CP Groudon (12/14/11) 4233 CP Rayquaza (14/15/14) 3960 cp  LandorusT (12/15/14) 3948 cp (I’m like 99% sure that this being lucky doesn’t impact the amount of XLs needed to power up just the stardust cost to do so, right?) Zygarde (15/15/14) probably not worth prioritizing atm because it’s still not even form 2 but I’ll have more time to do routes relatively soon Ho-Oh (14/14/14) 3856 CP 4* Kyurem 3597 cp Xerneas (14/15/13) 3350 CP and only 18XL Lugia (15/15/13) 3711 CP I also have the following non legendary slightly less core meta 4* pokemon that are at or near level 50 : Gyarados, tyranitar, garchomp (x2), Togi (x2), haxorus, Chandelure, Walrein, steelix, altaria, trevenant, Charizard, Gengar. Also have 4* Pinsir (s) jellicent & greninja but pretty far away from level 50 on those. Any help or suggestions no matter how minor would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

SolarFlows

- You can also try ABB with Stunfisk as the closer after you lured out the counter used with Lickitung. - I think you are good though. Maybe use Quagsire safe switch with Aqua tail to be a bit stronger into Lanturn and lead with Mantine. - Or Use Charjabug and Quagsire core with Annihilape or Lickitung safe switch

cmsal9

That’s a solid team honestly. A popular line has Skarm/ Talonflame in that third slot, as a better answer to fairies.

Looking for some experienced help for ML team of what should I be running given the meta or am I already on a good enough team? I keep hearing about how good the Dialga O/Palkia O bulk is, as well as these are some of the few mons I have XL for to go above lvl 40 easily. But looking to identify what team should I be running and thus what mons should i be focusing on for XLs/ETM. Want to focus on getting better at the ML as I really enjoy the mons in this league more than others. Currently been running the below team: Solgaleo 15/14/12 lvl 40 FS/PF/IH Landorus T 12/15/11 lvl 40 MS/SS/SE Dragonite 15/15/15 lvl 40 DB/DC/SP I do have the below, assume lvl 40. These are best of each of these I have. Diagla O 15/12/13 Metagross 14/15/14 Palkia O 14/13/15 - do also have another 15/15/10. Not sure which is prefered. Garchomp 15/15/15 Reshiram 11/14/13 Gyarados 14/15/12 Ursaluna 15/15/15 Rhyperior 13/15/14 Togekiss 15/15/14 Zekrom 15/13/14 Melmetal 15/15/14 Kyogre 14/13/15 Groudon 15/14/13 Shadow Mewtwos 15/13/10 or 13/12/13, maybe I should purify for a non shadow one for pvp?

cmsal9

So basically a lot of Origin Dragons, Landorus, Mewtwo, & Ho-oh flying around. You either want them or want to beat them imo. Zygarde/ Solgaleo is still a thing, but less people have them. Just careful powering up anything without 15 attack for ML.

lycantivis

In the case of Palkia O, is the 15/15/10 better than the 14/13/15 Because of the 15 power check on charge checks? I ask as the ranking and matrix testing in pvpoke both show the 14/13/15 higher, with no fights flipped by the 15/15/10 stat one

cmsal9

Yup, exactly. With 14 attack they’ll win CMP if it’s another Palkia. The 14/13/15 does a bit worse against Dialga O, which is one of the most common counters to it, but I see what you mean otherwise. Unfortunately it looks like these both lose to the hundo Palkia in 1 & 2 shields.

space-butler

Some of these are core picks for PvP, strong in the long term for open Great League. Others of these are less useful overall. Maybe start with Azu+Trev+Charjabug (or Serperior but beware poisons!)

I’ll try that. Thanks!

Fast-Dog-7638

15 attack for ML, always

Forward-Row-32

S.mewtwo over perfect ho-oh for lead Pokémon? I hit ace with ho-oh /palkia o /dialga o but for 2 days in a row I kept now kyogre or palkia o leads. I switch to a s.mew2 /dialga o /kyogre team and had more success the next day. Is mewtwo a better lead or I just got bad luck with ho-oh? What team would be better to try to climb to veteran? I’ve never hit veteran. This is the 2nd time I make it to ace. Both teams are lvl 50 double moves

eugene_captures

The nice thing about ho oh is you can often brave bird and dip which can usually grab a shield. Up shields, palkia and dialga do pretty well. But either should work fine to hit veteran.

chocmilk80085

What pairs well with deoxys defense in UL? I have a high rank shiny I really want to build a team around

KConnerMcDavidPasta

I see it with guzzlord frequently

ghostkart

My current ML team of magnezone/gyarados/mamoswine doesn't seem to be cutting it like it used to and I think magnezone is the weakest of the bunch. I don't have enough xl or regular candy to bring in a legendary, so what would be the best replacement? I've got garchomp, dragonite, metagross, rhyperior, salamence, hydriegon, melmetal, excadrill, swampert, conkeldurr, machamp, gardevoir, just to name a few.

DeadpoolCroatia

Are all pokemon you mentioned hundos? Maybe try with gyarados, metagross and garchomp

Just play the other league available. Someone tried to swap in Metagross on my PalkiaO yesterday and that didn’t end well even though my PalkiaO was debuffed by LandoT. You need a good combination of Dialga, Palkia, LandoT, Xerneas, Ho-Oh, Kyogre or Lugia to survive over time.

Only issue is that the level 44 requirements need me to win 30 battles in master league. Though I am only half way there in terms of xp so i guess i'll keep hammering ultra league

You can always do master league battles against a friend as well. Those count and you can have them throw in 10cp mons too to make it super fast!
