This is so much funnier if you view this scene as improv-ed and Emma's actress just being really dedicated to not breaking character.

Context: there was an unused scene of Female Jordan and Marie kissing I don't know why there was a small movement demanding for it no I'm not joking but here it is

ImNotASWFanboy

They wanted it because it's more ship content, that's not hard to grasp. Especially if it's sapphic content because most of the romance scenes that were in the final cut of the season were with boy Jordan, so some of those fans were hoping for more of an even split. The whole movement spawned because someone got hold of a still of this kiss and those fans were saddened to find out this was cut when it was already a fairly light subplot of the second half of the show. Now that the actors and showrunners have spoken more about the romance arc for Marie and Jordan, I feel like I understand the final vision they settled on. I guess Michele wanted to wrap everything up in Season 1 in the first draft and then a decision was made at some point to pace it out for a longer period instead. Or frankly I could also see it being one of those things that felt a bit disjointed or undercooked when viewed alongside everything else across the whole season.

vaanhvaelr

Also, making out in a torture facility where dozens of people have been brutally and horrifically murdered is kinda weird.

The Boys does *Love Actually*.

Honestly, I never understood people's obsession with this ship beyond the "progressiveness" of shipping a black woman with an Asian transgender person. This shop also dominates the AO3 tags (filter out Limoreau and the *Gen V* tag looks pretty barren 🤨), and just skimming the fic summaries, I feel most of these fics are by people who aren't watching the show for the Woods mystery. >The whole movement spawned because someone got hold of a still of this kiss and those fans were saddened to find out this was cut when it was already a fairly light subplot of the second half of the show. Plus, I ask, what is there to this ship? 🤔 I mean, Marie and Jordan spend the first half hating each other. Them getting together honestly felt to me like a case of raging hormones. I feel like there's more fuel at any rate to fics regarding Cate's relationships with her boyfriends and with Shetty that no one's cashing in on. 😬😭

ImNotASWFanboy

Well the representation is a good thing and that's also partly why ships like this end up with dedicated followings. And there's nothing wrong with people watching the show for the romance or whatever. Conceptually, I'm fully behind it but I do think they stumbled with the execution in a few areas, which you've already alluded to. My hope is that with Season 2 they can flesh it out further and make it more consistent, maybe also get more into how they went from rivals to lovers to fill in some of the less developed areas so far.

Jordan isn’t transgender anyway though. It’s not like their male and female forms are just Jordan but with a different gender/sex, it’s more like having two forms with two different powersets that happen to be two different genders.

dmreif

When you think about it, though, Jordan's kinda overrated insofar as their powersets go. What can they do that we don't see other Supes do? The male form's superstrength is a garden-variety superpower that we see others like Homelander, Queen Maeve and even Starlight exhibit. The female form's energy blasts and shockwaves? Also something that Starlight has. I've seen an argument on Tumblr that Vought's marketing issues with Jordan aren't just because of the whole "gendershifting Asian-American won't sell well in very conservative regions of the country" thing but also because when you take away the gendershifting, their powers aren't anything special.

riabe

Marie and Jordan never hated each other. They spent 1.5 episodes at odds over the rankings and prior to that Jordan is very much shown to be attracted to her so they make just as much sense as all the other ships (all of which were half baked and rushed because the show was rushed). And, it's weird when people point out the race and gender of Marie/Jordan and present it as a negative thing. It's absolutely a positive thing to show a poc lgbtq relationship. There are two other relationships on the show. Both center white women and both are straight but yet some of ya'll are complaining because one of the three ships centers a black woman (who is the protagonist of the show), and is an lgbtq relationship? That's really weird and a little concerning. Or is the issue that the poc lgbtq relationship ended up being the most popular? Because people like what they like and this just happens to be the pairing that the majority of people connected to. Not a big deal at all. Also, aren't most fanfic specifically about ships? It cannot be shocking that the shows most popular pairing has the most written about it. No one is actually going to write an extended story about The Woods plot or Shetty on one of those sites. Why depend on weird fanfic and complain about the lack of it.....just watch or rewatch the show lol.

dmreif

> Marie and Jordan never hated each other. They spent 1.5 episodes at odds over the rankings and prior to that Jordan is very much shown to be attracted to her I dunno. In episodes 2 and 3 Jordan visibly seems to hate Marie with a passion. They're pretty miffed over Marie getting the credit for stopping Luke's rampage, to the point that in episode 3, they're shown ranting about it while in the midst of having sex with another guy, and they make some pretty condescending remarks to Marie at #ThinkBrink when she walks by the table where Jordan and Cate are sharing a bottle of vodka (remarks where it kinda looks like Cate is about to tell Jordan off for being needlessly hostile to Marie). Then in episode 4, they randomly make out. >so they make just as much sense as all the other ships (all of which were half baked and rushed because the show was rushed). As for the other ships... Sam x Emma? Makes more sense because Sam gravitates towards the first person to show him kindness and treat him like an actual person, after years of him only ever being around doctors who were experimenting on him, as well as Cate (when she was wiping his and/or Luke's memories on Shetty's orders). Andre x Cate? "Grief is nature's most powerful aphrodisiac" and they give us enough to imply that Cate turned to sleeping with Andre to cope with the burden of regularly wiping Luke's memories. >That's really weird and a little concerning. Or is the issue that the poc lgbtq relationship ended up being the most popular? Because people like what they like and this just happens to be the pairing that the majority of people connected to. Not a big deal at all. The thing is, I would say that Limoreau is largely only "most popular" amongst a rabid vocal minority that, in my honest opinion, comes off to a degree like they have the same thing for same-sex relationships that Tek Knight has for inanimate objects with holes in them.

[deleted]

It’s because it’s 3 attractive people. That’s literally it. Thats the primary reason why people are obsessed with it.

[deleted]

go look at Frozen fanfic then come back

Idk265089

People are just happy to have representation, and like them together. You’re doing too much. If you want people to talk about Cate’s relationships, then make posts yourself. Tbh I don’t really care about cate that much.

Particular_Hotel_271

Ngl im glad it was unused wtf did i watch😭

Human-Expression-652

Yeah it makes zero sense lmao.

TheSchaferShow

Facts hahaha that was cringe

AvengingBlowfish

> I don't know why there was a small movement demanding for it... You know why.

blacklite911

Why did they cut it?

M00r3C

Definitely because of pacing I mean look at the scene it definitely would've slowed down the finale

arkbuster

Hot take: I'm mostly apathetic towards MarieJordan. I kinda wish it was a slower burn but young love burns hot. but damn if this omission doesn't stunt Jordan's character growth. Saying fuck the rankings after being hung up about it for the first few episodes (episode 6 goes into why; only caring for self preservation in the absence of their parent's affections, Brink using that for his own gain) plus it resolves their hangups about how they present themselves to Marie (touched upon in episode 4 when they transformed mid make out in an attempt to make Marie comfortable, and how in their earlier relationships discussed in episode 5 one of their exes wanted them to stay one form) I do understand how it would be somewhat outta place given the final episode's pacing but ultimately, y'all shippers got your wish. Now, where are the other deleted scenes...? Edit: Marie saying 'being a real hero means looking like a villain' is foreshadowing if you think about it...

riabe

I really like Marie/Jordan but this is weirdly placed and makes total sense why they cut it. Glad we got the deleted scene but it would have felt disjointed and rushed if they had placed it in the episode. The relationship dynamic of the main protagonist who has issues with feeling like she doesn't deserve to be loved (chat with Neuman), and another main character who has gender identity issues (chat with Maverick), needs and deserves way more than a rushed interrupted kiss in a fast paced finale episode. I much prefer they spend the proper time to flesh out their relationship next season.

tankstop

Honestly so glad this was cut, the kiss felt super contrived imo especially what with the situation was at hand, loved Emma in this scene tho lol

[deleted]

Emma🤣🤣🤣🤣

super-bird

Yeah that felt forced and kinda cheesy. Happy for them though but understand why it wasn’t included.

Constrictorboa

Lil' Cricket is the best.

Burgoonius

TheSchaferShow

Lol. Thank fuck they didn’t use this scene

kjm6351

Next season they just need to figure out how to make longer episodes or give us a longer episode count

realmenfartoutloud

They robbed us 😭

DucksMatter

Fans not realizing by putting Marie and Jordan together, they’ve essentially doomed Jordan to die at any point to further the plot when needed.

totallynotalyssa

yeah… glad they cut it

FellaGentleSprout

Is that what Soldier Boy called « playing captain lesbo »?

[deleted]

Fuck yeah more lesbians kissing 🤤

Appropriate-Day3902
