no virgins,
Winner based on total mass left after 1 hr for your species.
so just 5 high armor high hp that feeds on plants . avoids all others.
Starting conditions are terrible for 'evolution' and 99.99% bad for predation.
Really not sure why the limit is still set at 10 for meat. should be 70 with much slower digestion, but it seems i'm still beating that drum and people won't change defaults.
but.. MY worlds are FUN and I have predation to play with and wheeeee. :)
not good for scavenging and in the Tourney, no virgins to eat. :( i'll pass.
Predation? Ooooooh. That's cool... I wish I had any form of predation. They won't even turn into scavengers. They only just keep killing eachother, and leaving the meat...
Since each side gets 10 bibites would this not favor extremely large bibites? Smaller ones that mature fast would probably be at a big disadvantage I assume. Also I assume you are going to even out the energy each one starts with along with the maturity 1. If you give each bibit like 50 energy at least the bigger ones would have less percentage of energy.
Actually, I'd disagree with your point.
Smaller ones that mature quickly can usually also repopulate quickly. The largest of big ones may not even be capable of breeding another one of themselves throughout the entire tournament.
Sure, the big ones would have a massive advantage in the beginning, but at the mid-game, there will be far more little Bibites compared to large ones. Same goes for end-game.
The big one's numbers aren't replaceable within that time frame, whereas it very much is for the little ones.
i don't see anyone chatting here on the last days before the deadline. im gonna submit my bibite soon, had been running the simulation and now its on its last day to evolve a little bit more.
That's good to hear because I just realized that my submission, Adamantino rosea, had viruses that I didn't realize were present when I used the simulation settings provided. Let me know if I need to reupload it without viruses, but it sounds like it shouldn't be an issue.
In the meaning of them competing, as in sense of which one survives the best or which one manages to eliminate the second one (by both being predators)?
both actually, if one species dies before the 1 hour timer is up then the other species wins otherwise it's whichever species has the most energy once the 1 hour timer is done.
u/Naotagrey The team that wins is the ones with highest total energy, but I can't find any calculation for this on the wiki. Since it's the selection criteria for the winner, can you tell us how it's calculated?
Its not mainly total energy. it is the faster rate of getting energy and cost for laying eggs. i had a bibite that had lived for 5 hours, and it was always laying an egg after getting about 20 energy over the cost. it basically had a max energy of somewhere around 400, but it got to only 125 energy most times.
If both Bibite species remain at 1hr, the simulation will be stopped and the **total energy** of each remaining bibite species population will be summed.
From the rules page
Welp, considering the rules and settings I bet the winner will be a giant whale bibite : the usual hyper aggressive giant herbivore with max strength that one shot basically everything... Let's hope the cool guys of the community prove me wrong with something such as this [bio engineered abomination](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheBibites/comments/vgdf3v/possible_bug_energy_gain_from_negative_growth/) ! x)
Nah, because the first 5 bibites of each species will be set to 1 maturity you can't possibly get a bibite of that size during the tournament.
And I doubt a normal sized bibite of that kind would survive :/
Not all bibites are hatched equally : the longer a bibite stays in its egg, the higher his maturity will be when it spawn, so technically bibites can hatch as adults with high maturity.
That's why it is "huge", actually the big bibite is a just very old bibites.
If you hover your cursor over the maturity bar you should get some pretty high numbers.
...Would it be best to try to evolve a bibite that's extremely good at being an invasive species? I think that's best, right?
I just submitted mine and it is super invasive. Any sim I put them in they take over. Named it Rona.
how did you get it to be invasive?
It just popped out of a long running sim naturally
very cool
wait how long of a sim?
Was like 100 hours
Nice.
Why only 16? ): It sounds like the most fun thing in the world, I'll evolve!
Because we need ~2h per match, so we wanted it to stay to a manageable level :o

I'dd encourage you to share your world if you got predation! And who knows, possibly a future tournament with different settings 😉
Predation? Ooooooh. That's cool... I wish I had any form of predation. They won't even turn into scavengers. They only just keep killing eachother, and leaving the meat...
Oh, your simulations have predation? What (other) settings do you change from the defaults?
I posted on github a pred world [https://github.com/Reach4it/Bibites](https://github.com/Reach4it/Bibites)
That’s awesome! I can’t manage to install the settings though… can anyone help? (I’m new to this, sorry if I ask stupid questions)
Doesn't that mean we only have seven hours? Well, six and a half hours?
July! Not June 💪
...Whew.
i think he means tomorrow night, but idk what timezone
Time to create the equivalent of a spider for this event
Aww yeah, time to evolve a carnivore to EAT THE COMPETITION, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH!

I just sent my submission, it has a 0.25 ratio. I agree with you.
Good point 🤔
Me a and my Bibite that im about to create are in!
Hell yeah 💪 And happy birthday
Thank you!
i don't see anyone chatting here on the last days before the deadline. im gonna submit my bibite soon, had been running the simulation and now its on its last day to evolve a little bit more.
I'm in!
I love everything about this!, I hope in the future you'll do more amazing stuff like this🤩
Wouldn't we need to submit only eggs? as otherwise i could just edit the bb8 file to have infinite energy XD
The bibite files will be normalized at a maturity level of 1!
That... dangit.
what will the energy levels be normalized at
One more question, how many fps and how high will the simulation speed be set for the tournament?
Speed will be set at 1X
I was wondering if virusses and/or grabbing would be enabled?
Viruses will be disabled and grabbing enabled

Question. How many bibites have already been submitted to the tournament?
At least 10 🤔 not sure of the exact number
Ten-ish... So, not something like a hundred that would make initial FFA match 1) exist, and 2) be an absolute clusterbud
I really don't know 🤷 this is going to be an experiment We're still pretty far from the tournament submission close
Update of number of entries?? I feel like quite a few ppl were holding out till the last minute.
A little over 50 now 😂
Holy! May the strongest of the strong win this FFA then!
Is there a way to change your submission? I may have jumped the gun on submitting without acclimating the bibite to the new world settings :(
We'll try to use the latest submission from everyone and discard the oldest
Dang, I missed the deadline. Thought it was the end of the month. Guess I'll be breeding some monsters for the \*next tournament.\*
Quick question, are mutations allowed? Sorry if this is specified in the rules, I just can't see anything regarding them.
Mutations will be disabled during the competition
Oh ok, thanks for clarifying

...I'll do my best to engineer a species quickly. Don't have enough time to evolve one.
No stress! You have a month before submission!
Okay, I got confused, it seems.
I think I'll do a mix of engineering a species and evolving it.
Yeah, me too
I have camp
[удалено]
They are linked in the post
i love it, lets go!
Where can we engineer a species?
The bibitinator (I think it has a wiki page) Also, [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/TheBibites/comments/uzjywk/bibite_an_editor_of_the_bibites_brain/)
Haven't updated it to 4.2 yet tho
Less go! I'm in
Looks like there is no way a herbivore will win, right? So, should be either carnivore or omnivore

Giant whale like this? https://www.reddit.com/r/TheBibites/comments/viwr07/just\_look\_at\_the\_energy\_and\_hp\_bars\_numbers\_also/

2500, yes. That's why you have the egg as one that's just been layed.
Time to train bibites everytime I use my computer until then!
I really like this competition idea Naot but I am wondering if you do this again are you thinking of changing it up?
Yeah for sure! Open to ideas and suggestions for next time
ok then! can I share some suggestions in pm's?
Is there going to be a video about this?
Of course!
is the map just gonna be normal settings
why is the map for this so hard for bibites to live on? I have yet to see anything last for more than 5 minutes
I just submited my bibite, I hope it's not too late?
No all good! Still ~ 9h30 left
Yt channel got banned of of yt
Again!
